I always love coming to QPV! Great service, awesome pizzas, and a wide selection of wine, cocktails and spirits. The environment is cozy and warm, beautiful patio area and awesome bar! Looking for an upscale cozy chill vibe, QPV is the place to be!

QPV was a pleasant surprise. On a rainy day I decided drinks were in order so we decided to try a new place. QPV checked all the boxes food and spirits. The only downside for me was that no food allowed in the Bar area. I preferred the vibe of the Bar area, but this place did not disappoint. The service and food were excellent. I highly recommend.

Queso Pan Y Vino (QPV) is one of those Southtown must-experience spots the kind of place you don't just visit, you remember. A couple years back they settled into their new home right across from neighborhood staples Bruno's Ice House and The Friendly Spot, and the move fits them perfectly. QPV strikes that sweet balance of upscale yet totally welcoming. It's the ideal place to grab a gourmet brick-oven pizza, sip a cocktail, and enjoy a stogie all in one sitting. The owner is always on point accommodating, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. And the music? Inside or out, it's always the hits, always the vibe. Don't sleep on the menu, either...there's a lot more here than just pizza, and it's absolutely worth exploring. Their Backroom bar is another highlight, especially if you appreciate a well-crafted cocktail. What really surprised me was their cigar selection solid variety, fair prices, and quite possibly the only spot in Southtown where you can grab a cigar. Big win. QPV continues to be one of Southtown's unique gems, great food, great cocktails, great atmosphere, and that rare cigar-friendly touch you won't find anywhere else. See ya again soon!

QPV is a must try! The drinks, customer service, food, location, and vibes are amazing! We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend dinner here! Everything we tasted and tried was exceptional, and the drinks were very good as well! Come for food, leave happy!!!

Came here after eating for drinks. The vibe is chill like a whiskey lounge; the low lights and smoky air made me feel like I was in a log cabin in front of a warm fire (actual fire pit outside). Great feeling especially since the air outside was a cold 56 and slightly windy. Nonetheless a great first experience. I will definitely comeback to give the food a try. The staff was welcoming. Great place for small intimate groups looking for upscale cocktails in a quiet loungy environment. $$$

We had a great time on a Saturday afternoon at Queso Pan y Vino. We enjoyed a couple bottles of Chardonnay and the appetizers. The Queso was delicious and the chorizo was not super greasy. The board had a nice variety of cheeses, manchego, smoked Gouda, port wine derby and a goat. The cured chorizo was phenomenal. I found the prosciutto sliced a little on the thick side, so it wasn't a melt in your mouth experience. Our server was perfect, she greeted us at the door, sat us, and took care of us during the entire visit. I loved the decor on the inside, rustic, but chic. The outdoor patio is cute with a more modern feel. I do look forward to visiting again to try some pizza. The aromas coming from the kitchen were amazing.

Great drinks but very overpriced. Very mid food. Pizza tastes like cardboard. I'd go again for drinks but food was one and done for me.

Do they take reservations? Yelp is saying yes, but when I called they said no. Have a large party coming for HH and would love to give them a heads up.

No they do not take reservations. Their indoor seating area is rather small but they may do something for a large group if you call.

Is the patio dog friendly?

Not sure didn't ask

Update to first review below, rating updated from a 3 to a 5 star (drinks & bartender would get 10+…read morestars if we could rate that high): Saturday night: Went back for after dinner drinks at the Downstairs (a "speakeasy" throwback, look up the history of the place to see why). Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)

Drinks good price but nothing special. Super sweet on the bexar hug and French 75…read more Food was overcooked and mediocre. Au just super salty. Service slow and lacking. Riverwalk restaurants pretty much suck, and for sucker tourists maybe. Haven't had a good experience yet.
