I made reservations for dinner and joined my friends upstairs in the dining room. The interior hadn't changed much but was still elegant as I remember. After being greeted and seated by our server, I looked over the wine menu and noticed that had one of my favorites, Belle Glos Pinot Noir, so I started with that. The table ordered the seared ahi tuna as an appetizer, and I ordered the grilled Atlantic salmon as my main course. The ahi tuna came out and was plated beautifully. The tuna was a bit overdone, but it was full of flavor and tasted great. The grilled salmon came out next and it was delicious. It has moist and tender on the inside and seasoned well on the outside. The crab meat and gravy topping really set it off. Overall, it was great coming back to SILO Alamo Heights and getting reacquainted with the menu. I'll be back to try more of the menu.

With the word wine being the in name of the establishment, you will find an extensive selection of wines available by glass and bottle and categorized by white types and red types. Being a Zinfandel guy, the bartender turned me to the Girard "Old Vine" Zinfandel. This is a pricy wine at $25/glass. I enjoyed the hell out of it as it's one of the better Zinfandel's I've ever had. Definitely steep at $25. I probably should've gone with the wine flight which is what my friend did before he switched to a Malbec. I forgot which one he did but the flights are all prearranged to compliment one another. It makes for a nice experience if you're not sure what wine you want to zero in on. As for food, we paired our wine with a charcuterie board. It's a standard board with some baguette slices and a mix of cheeses and meats with a candied jalapeno spread. A very nice compliment to wine. They have happy hour, wine of the month, and a wine/dine theme for every month where they pair wines with a themed menu. Plus sangria is available as well. I am also treating myself with my favorite type of food Italian. Grief is a weird thing, it takes time and sometimes it gets better, sometimes it doesn't. But progress is the most important take away from it. I love my grandpa very much and I wish he was here to see what I'm accomplishing today. All I want is to make him proud. I wish I could be there for my family, but ik Gods got them and he is rejoicing over their union. The workers were above and beyond. The food was delicious, and the wine was divine.
