Got take out here and ordered online. I got the bbq chicken and beef combo. It came with a side of macaroni salad and rice. The salad was solid, but I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken. It was a little dry, but they gave the sauce on side so that helped. I'm used to more tangy and sweet teriyaki sauce their sauce didn't really seem like teriyaki based; more savory and sour if anything. The beef was good! Super tender. Overall it was a solid lunch for the price, but not my favorite Hawaiian bbq dish I've had. The staff was nice. There is seating inside as well. I just got takeout. read more

Ordered via door dash - and arrived to my place within 10 min, which probably means it was all pre cooked and then put together since I'm 1 mile away. Sauce came on the side - didn't really remind me of a teriyaki sauce it's more tangy and soy sauce tasting or I guess like a watery A1. Tried all meats without the sauce chicken was cooked well, not dry at all. The beef had a weird after taste. Short rib was good, nothing was overcooked. Wish the meat was topped over cabbage like other Hawaiian spots instead of a lettuce salad ( which of course I didn't eat) Mac salad had a good mayo to macaroni ratio but didn't taste like anything it was extremely bland. Musubi - wish the spam was a bit thicker but the rice ratio was good, rice was cooked to perfection. Spam wasn't cooked in sauce nor was there sauce in-between the rice and spam. Missing the sauce - so I tried it with the sauce I mentioned above but not a fan of the sauce so didn't like it together. read more

Order the $15.00 combo plate and it was terrible. Chicken was burnt, no seasoning on anything! Huge disappointment. All the meat was over cooked. Mostly they gave me rice, a tablespoon of macaroni salad. I will never order again! read more

Save your money, it's not worth it and definitely would not recommend it. Craved hawaiian bbq, walked in shortly after they just opened. Not even 5 mins after I ordered and sitting down at a table, I already got my food, to which I questioned. I didn't hear any grilling going on, it was cold when I opened the container and it tasted bland, no seasoning. I usually don't complain but i started to feel nauseous a couple of hours later... Not going back ever again. read more

We use to order from here a couple times a month- loved the Kobe ribs, beef and chicken plates, island salad & family meals. But the last 2 times we've been extremely disappointed by the taste and quality of the food. The island salad use to be crisp iceberg lettuce, edamame, and shredded carrots with a delicious sesame base dressing. The last 2 times- the salad was bagged iceberg with previously frozen peas & carrots- no edamame- nothing fresh. The ribs use to have flavor and have a nice grilled char without being dry- these times they taste like they were microwaved! Very chewy, bland flavor, no sauce or grill marks whatsoever. The rice and macaroni salad was dry- nothing like before. Needless to say unless we find out the old cook is back we won't be ordering from here again. read more

Worst rice I've ever had in my life ... mushy on the outside and crunchy in the middle - not edible. I don't even know how you can mess rice up this bad ! I can't support a restaurant that doesn't quality check the one side dish that is essential to 95% of their dishes offered. Masubi also had the rice and a very very thin slice of spam. I don't recommend this restaurant. read more

First order was disappointing, second was very disappointing. Gave them a third chance after some time--still a letdown. Dry rice, flavorless meat, spam musubi with zero taste, and to top it off, hair in my wife's food. The mac salad was the only thing worth eating, and that's where the lone star comes from. As for all these glowing 5-star reviews? Either everyone else's taste buds retired early, or someone's paying for fake praise, because there's no way we ate at the same place. read more

Extremely delicious food! I ordered the BBQ chicken mini meal and my husband ordered the spam musubi. It took a minute to get but that's because everything is made to order (my husband even said the musubi was too hot and had to wait for it to cool down). It was extremely delicious and exactly what we needed for our little beach picnic :) One star was lost because the inside of the restaurant seemed a little bit dirty and maybe needs a bit of an update! read more

I don't usually write reviews but... Came here on my lunch break, was craving bbq. I ordered the bbq short ribs, and they were super disappointing. Literally 75% of my food was inedible, all fat and bone. And it literally looked like they just threw all the food into the box, it was super messy. Also the cashier was super rude. She took a phone call (on her phone) in the middle of me ordering. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but that's crazy. read more

I shouldn't expect the food quality and portions to be anything like the Hawaiian drive inn joints in Northern California. Shrimp was puny. Chicken katsu was meh. Could've went to Panda Express for egg rolls and wonton things. Spam Musubi was lacking that glaze that I'm so spoiled with but I was hungry. They have a lot of sauce packets. Ok, I'm a sucker for Hawaiian BBQ. If I ever happen to roll through a town and see a random plate lunch restaurant, I'm there. QQ Aloha BBQ in Paso Robles totally surprised me; we "accidentally" passed it looking for another place and I had to try it. I ordered the BBQ Beef and Chicken combo and was super impressed! The serving size was abundant and I loved the marinade/sauce on the meat and poultry. The mac salad and rice were spot on as well. The prices are super reasonable and there is plenty to grind on. There was a constant stream of people when I was there, but food was prepared very promptly. read more

I think every city and every town should have its own Hawaiian BBQ locale. I might be sounding a bit over the top but to me this holds true. This kind of food is something different altogether. A perfect meal for lunch or dinner. The chicken Katsu with the macaroni salad is the staple for me. Even bolder, grab the combo with the short rib added, grandiose to say the least. read more

I'd never had "Hawaiian" food before. Or I didn't think I'd had? Anyway, my husband really likes a place in Goleta that he frequented when we lived there. So he wanted to try this place out. Unsure of what I would like, he suggested I get teriyaki chicken because I know I like that. So I tell him sure, just get me the bowl. I don't like macaroni salad etc. He texts me they don't have teriyaki sauce so he got me bbq sauce on the side. Alright whatever I'll give it a shot. He also ordered the appetizer sampler that had a variety of fried items. I dip the chicken in the "BBQ" sauce and it tastes like teriyaki...call it whatever you want, that's teriyaki sauce lol. But hey, it was good so I poured it over my chicken and white rice bowl. It was tasty, on par with every other place ive had teriyaki chicken. The prices are also super reasonable. It was only like 5-6$ for the bowl and it was a perfect lunch size for me. The reason for not having 5 stars though is that appetizer. It was so bad. The fried shrimp were basically inedible, the sesame balls were naaasstty, egg rolls were not good, chicken dumplings were meh, and the crab rangoons, I mean, it's cream cheese and dough, so those were fine. I'd go back for a small lunch again, I'd just skip the apps. read more

It's your typical hole-in-the-wall hawaiian fusion place. QQ is really similar to L&L and it reminds me of the late night food I used to eat back home. The food is pretty good. I think I got the 36(?) It's the korean kalbi ribs with bulgogi and fried shrimp. Kalbi was a little fatty but it makes sense because you're paying so cheap for an incredible amount of food. By the end of my meal, I was beyond full and I had to save my leftovers and share it with a roommate. It did get a little busy when I was there, so I suggest ordering online and picking it up! read more

There bbq chicken was tender and flavorful. The rice was cooked just right and reminded me of the rice we eat in Hawaii. The macaroni salad was also very good and reminded me of Hawaii. Ordered fried shrimp, grilled mahi mahi, and short rib plate lunch along with SPAM musubi and the sesame balls. The ribs were flavorful and not greasy, the shrimp ok but a little dry, the fish was very good but I'm not positive it was really mahi mahi. Nice to get sesame balls but I thought a bit expensive for 6 small balls. Unfortunately what ruined the meal was the rice. It was only partially cooked and basically inedible. The same with the musubi. The person who made the meal would have known the rice was not the right texture but still served it out. I had brought a friend's there thinking the food in the past was fine. It did not leave a good impression with her. read more

We (the Mrs, a friend and I) chose to go here because of the reviews on yelp. The Mrs and I got the #1 on the menu, and my friend got the spicy bowl and dumplings. The food was great. I think the portion sizes were appropriate for what we got but I think I would get a bigger portion option on the menu next time. My friend requested I add that when they say spicy... it's spicy! Had to review and give 5 stars after the amazing service we got here. There was a misunderstanding with our order and it was fixed right away. Our food came out quickly and we weee given some makeshift plates to use for our kids. The family meal was a great deal and good size for our family of 6. We enjoyed our meal and the owner even helped us clear our stuff while we were trying to do that and herd our kids out the door. Would recommend for the food and family-friendly service. read more

Ordered dinner for Mother's Day for take out, they are open for take out during this Covid shutdown, they had the food ready really fast! We got the appetizer sampler, The short rib ,the crispy shrimp ,and the beef. All very good! The crispy ship was so good! They also gave us a handful of Japanese cookies!! I just moved here in September this past year and QQ Aloha BBQ is hands down my favorite place ever to grab food. I am allllwaaayysss craving it!! It absolutely never misses. I get the double meat combo of the BBQ chicken and the chicken katsu and it is amazing. Every single time. All for $10. They also do a great spam masubi which is a must. QQ aloha BBQ. Solid example of very good food. Had the Katsu Chicken and enjoyed it. Ample serving with white rice and macaroni salad. Nice sweet sauce available which does add to the taste quite nicely. Atmosphere is okay, but would suggest take out ad the best option because of limited seating. Nice people and good service. read more

The beef ribs were a little burnt but still very tender and good. I also ordered a Hawaiian bbq chicken mini meal with fried rice and veggies. The rice was just soy sauce with very little toppings for fried rice; it was more like seasoned rice, but still good. The portion size was huge again; very generous on meat serving. Overall, good price for the amount and quality of the food. The staff was nice, and order was ready by the time I arrived.

It was clean with indoor seating; has cute boba and island themed decor. Decided on spam musubi and bbq pork buns, which to my husband would be easy to eat while he drove. Ordered via the kiosk that was near the register/counter. Employee was friendly and delivered our order to our table within a few minutes. My taro smoothie was refreshing & the honey boba was fresh and had the perfect chewy consistency. The steamed pork buns were delicious as well, and wished we had ordered more!

The chicken bento box is also unlike any other fried chicken I've ever had. You can tell it is homemade and the spices set it apart from any other fried chicken around town. This also happens to be where I discovered my favorite boba tea. This has instantly become my favorite gyoza/boba restaurant. At first impression I should have known- it was lunch time and empty- you have to self order and navigate their kiosk- no help with two kids and still ask for a tip. There was one younger girl with dark hair in the cluttered kitchen/drink area who didn't even acknowledge us- just went to the back and started rummaging. A second lady showed up and started preparing our sushi order. At that point I noticed the dirty tables and lack of service so decided to change my order "to go." I stood there trying to get their attention and was finally acknowledged. The lady who seemed to be in charge was handing out cash to another younger lady who came in (weird asf too). I finally get my order and bring it home. The nigiri was poorly cut- but edible. My poke bowl had a small amount of tuna that tasted sour and has signs of cooking through citrus, imitation crab, and seaweed salad (extra cost), then I see a whole romaine end, browning and cut up under that making the bulk of the bowl, followed by rice. Nothing like the picture at the kiosk. Then as I try to mix things up for a bite (I am starving at this point) I see a dark black hair. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed and unable to eat my food. I called to let them know and the younger lady who was there said she would let the owner know after sitting down and looking at all the food that was wasted. I decided to call back and ask for a refund. At that point, the younger lady kept repeating what I was saying, as she was relaying the information to what sounded like to be the owner. She told her to tell me that I needed to go back with the food. I let her know that I was unable to do that right now as I had two little kids who needed to nap- that's why I came home. She said she couldn't do a refund- until I went there with the food and my card. I was also told to refrigerate this food- are they going to use it?!? Smh. Ultimately I am out $40, and no lunch. I will never return or recommend to anyone. I'm thinking the reviews are for the teas- which I didn't try.

This place has been a family spot for us for almost 20 years. We'll sometimes go a year or two…read morewithout visiting, but we always end up coming back eventually. Watching them cook the meat over the wood fire is still one of the coolest parts of the experience. The smell hits you immediately when you walk in. I also recently found out they do burger specials on certain weekdays and honestly it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Just one of those places that's always been around for us and probably always will be. I'll definitely keep coming back.
