DATE: 10/30/2019 530pm ish PARKING: Street Parking, we got lucky and got a spot right out front. Since the weather has changed and its raining now, we wanted a hot meal so we rolled up on Q's. The restaurant is nice and clean and they have a nice soul food selection to choose from. You can dine in or take it to go, the choice is yours. The service is A1, very friendly...they even let me sample some of the beets, which by the way were so good. FOOD: I tried the turkey wings with cabbage and black eyed peas. Very delicious. This food was not over seasoned, it was just perfect for me. I'll be back as they have several other items I'd like to indulge in.

Please tell me why it takes 45 minutes to make Bacon, potatoes and eggs? That is all. I don't care what time I come in this spot it is super duper slow. I have never been here where I didn't wait for cook to order food for a long time. Ever. As a business you want to satisfy the customer and this doesn't do the job. It would be different if my food was off the chain great but it wasn't. My bacon was burnt, the potatoes were lack luster and the portions are not good for a plate of food costing darn near $8. I want to keep patronizing this black owned business but they need to do better with cook to order breakfast. And stop being so stingy with the food.

Friends and I wanted to go to another place to eat but there was a long wait. We put our names on the list and walked down the street when we saw this place was open. It's located across the street from a bank and parking lot. If it's busy, you will have to drive around once or twice for an open spot. You can park at the bank when it is closed. I checked the reviews to see what they were about and it seemed ok so we decided to give it a try. It's your cafeteria style place for lunch or dinner. I did see eggs in the posted photos but that was not on the menu when I looked. We had lunch/dinner instead and we were satisfied but nothing to rave about. My friends ordered the baked chicken and they said it was great which is a lot because they are very particular. I had the 2pc whiting with sides. I do like the variety of sides the have for vegetables. The fish was lightly battered which I liked and decent sizes also. The mac 'n cheese was less than desirable as i have had better. Thankfully they had collard greens that weren't cooked with pork, beef or anything else. I always have a hard time finding a place that serves it vegetarian style in the south. My drink was an Arnold Palmer so I could cut the sweetness from the tea but it seems like both the lemonade and the sweet tea had loads of sugar. I had to dilute it with water - not trying to get the 'sugar'. Would I go again? Probably not but if you are starving like we were, it's cool to fill your belly.

This is the best soul food restaurant in East Point... You will enjoy the southern food and atmosphere... Most of all, your pockets will thank you... Breakfast is cooked to order, so placing your order by phone is best if you're ordering a takeout breakfast, lunch, or dinner in a hurry... The food is always fresh... Personally, I'm picky about my macaroni and cheese, and because theirs taste like the boxed kind, I choose not to partake... But all else is great! The desserts taste like your grandma baked them... This has been my favorite soulfood place for the past 10 years... And I've never regretted an order...

Let's get something out of the way first: I was born and raised in the deep South on my great-grandmother's decades old family recipes handed down. I KNOW soul food! This restaurant has no soul and I hardly think what they serve should be called "food". Is it edible? yes. Is it worth your money? maybe. Let me also add that I grew up in East Point so this is not my first visit to Q's. It has been in the community for awhile, but the food has not gotten better. The meat entrees are not too bad. Such as, the turkey wings or baked chicken; but it doesn't take a five star chef to throw meat in an oven and bake it. I think the delight in a soul food restaurant comes from its' side dishes and desserts; which represent the creativity of the recipes that African slaves would churn out with the vegetable crops and little table scraps that plantation owners gave them. IMO, the vegetables taste like dressed up canned versions of something served in a prison cafeteria. I think the best side dish they serve is the dressing; which does happily remind me of food cooked for the holidays. (It's very moist and flavorful.) The corn muffins melt like butter in your mouth and one of these stars belong to them alone. It's very difficult to find a restaurant that serves fresh rutabagas cooked southern-style: Q's serves them but they taste oddly seasoned or overly-ripened. A constant disappointment in my life. Almost like a bad ex-boyfriend that you keep taking back because you hope that one day it will get better...but it doesn't. The macaroni and cheese is oily and lackluster. It even looks suspect when it is being served to you because while it is presented in the traditional baked casserole style dish, there's no substance under the melted layer of cheese. Where's the oomph?! There is none. Just overly boiled noodles stuck together by what may seem to be butter or...I don't even know. It's a mystery. Stouffer's frozen tastes much better. Q's is my choice when I do not want a drive-thru bag of oil from a fast food joint and it's very convenient because it's a stone's throw from the East Point train station, but it's not anything to write home about. The interior is set-up like a tiny cafe version of Picadilly's. You go through an entry point into a line where you see a cafeteria style buffet of hot-water serving pans filled with food and serving spoons hanging off the side. You pick your items, and move to the end of the line where you meet the cash register. Oh, I almost forgot! I have tried a few of the dessert cakes there and they aren't too bad. They have a very dense, cornbread-like consistency. They aren't light, fluffy or rich like classic homemade versions. However, they are worth giving a try on a good day. The owner is usually the one checking you out at the cash register: a beige colored Black woman, about mid-late 40's with short hair. She pretends to be friendly but it doesn't feel genuine. .

Decent soul food spot in East Point. My partner and I never heard of this place until they were featured on the Scoutmob app for 50% off, so we decided on a whim to try this place out on a weekday night. Q's is a cafeteria style restaurant, my partner and I were the only people in line when we arrived so we were able to ask about their different food selections and they recommended the fried turkey wings, which is what my partner ordered and I opted for the fried chicken breast. For our 2 sides, my partner chose the sweet white corn and turnip greens and I chose the mac and cheese and cornbread dressing. Both meals came with a cornbread muffin. We had to wait about ten minutes for our food because they fry the chicken fresh. The restaurant has a decent sized seating area and a couple LCD televisions on the walls. We decided to have our meal to-go and they showed us our food before leaving the restaurant. I like when restaurants do that, it shows that they care about their customer's satisfaction. I enjoyed all of the food, it was very delicious and fresh. My partner was not quite impressed with it though for some reason. I would definitely return here and would recommend this place to others who may find themselves in or around East Point, GA and with the Scoutmob app deal you can't beat the price. Less than $8 for two good portion sized dinners.

Turkey wings and rice with mac and cheese and greens. Foods overrated and bland. I've never used so much hot sauce in my life.
    Jasmine P.

The people are nice here but the food is certainly overrated. Hopefully the breakfast is more flavorful than the lunch here. I showed up at 10:20am and was told that lunch started at 10:30am. Ten minutes isn't bad so I waited. By the time I got my food I couldn't wait to dig in, but I didn't get that home cooked flavor that I expect from soul food. The food was bland and the Mac and cheese was watery as if they skipped out on the eggs and real cheese. It was certainly Southern "Styled" But looks are deceiving. They are not a Soul Food establishment. Almost 10 bucks for pretend soul food isn't bad but why even waste ten bucks when you have to use almost an entire bottle of hot sauce to add flavor to everything. ...I should have waited and cooked for myself. And WHY do they advertise that they have peach cobbler but it is NEVER out?! Anytime and everytime I show up it's never ready! If they took Red velvet cake off the menu they may as well take off the peach cobbler too. Save your money and skip out on this place.

Mac and Cheese: no, don't do it! Greens: a solid 'meh'. Dressing: passable, the only part of this plate I'm going to finish. :-/
    Nekia S.

Lovely little shop in downtown east point. Served cafeteria style. Staff seems nice enough. BUT Piccadilly and S&S taste far better. So unless you like diabetic and hypertension friendly bland food, go there for a quick lunch. The greens are sans flavor, the Mac and cheese tastes odd like fake than blue box Kraft cheese, the cornbread has no salt, sugar or butter in the mix. Only the dressing was passable on my veggie plate and it even required gravy. BUT my dad loves this place, so if you're over 70 (or not southern and don't know any better), do go!

    Dahab H.

Great southern comfort food. Items are served cafeteria style with a HUGE variety of both meat and veggie dishes. It was also under $20 for two adult meals so very reasonably priced.

Found a dead roach in my drink....the worker offered me my money for the drink back. I could finish my 13 plate of food.

For the most part, people seemed to enjoy it so I was convinced I should check it out. The restaurant is located inside of the Hilton airport Hotel. There is a secure parking lot that requires you to pull a ticket when you enter. The restaurant will validate the parking ticket for you ! When I walked in I was greeted by a staff member and seated immediately. Shortly after I was seated my wait staff came over and introduced herself. She took my drink order and said she would allow me time to look over the menu. I asked my wait staff her thoughts on the Mac and cheese. I am picky about eating Mac and cheese from places. Most don't know how to make real Mac & cheese ( if you know what I mean)! She told me it was pretty solid. - As such I ordered the following: Crab bisque Smoked chicken wing plate served with two sides: Mac & cheeses and asparagus were my picks! The crab bisque did take a long time to come out. It was so delayed that my main course came out shortly after the soup. It was not ideal, but I made it work! The crab bisque was solid. I would order it again. The wing plate also exceeded my expectations! I was impressed with the mac and cheese. The asparagus were large, which was concerning to me! Like how did they get so big? Steroids? Nonetheless, they were cooked to perfection! I did get the banana pudding to go- this was the only item I would not order again! It was basic and I only took a few bites and ended up trashing it . Overall I would reconned this spot! Service was spot on- and for a hotel restaurant the food is pretty good!

When the driver arrived, half of my order was missing. I immediately called the restaurant, and the person who answered said my other bag was sitting there and they forgot to give it to the driver. I understood mistakes happen and simply asked for a refund for the items I didn't receive. He told me they would issue a full refund because "that's the right thing to do." He took my name and number and said he would call me back shortly. I never received a call. The next day, I went on DoorDash to request a refund for the missing items and saw a denied claim on my account -- one I never submitted. That means the restaurant had to have entered something on their end. I requested a review, and it was denied again. At that point, I had to dispute the full charge with my bank, which was approved. I'm not sure why I never received a follow-up, but this is completely unacceptable. I was only asking for a refund for the food I didn't receive. On top of that, one of the meals I did receive was missing a side, and the salmon was dry. Even if someone had called back and offered a replacement instead of a refund, I would have been okay with that. But no communication at all is poor customer service. *SENT THIS TO THE BUSINESS INBOX 8/31/25. NO RESPONSE SO I AM POSTING IT HERE*…read more I got to your establishment shortly after placing my name on the waitlist. I followed the on-screen instructions to check in with the host upon arrival. I walked in a packed, very hot restaurant (later learned that the A/C was broken) and explained to the hostess that I was on the waitlist and she was extremely rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming and kept telling us "we aren't taking reservations right now" - I reiterated I didn't have a reservation but an active waitlist spot through the yelp app. She rudely asked for my name I gave it to her even spelled it out for her after she acted like she didn't hear me. She didn't even check her computer for my name, she flapped her huge blue-colored eyelashes and just said "well we aren't taking reservations" ... so after that I'm upset and my boyfriend asked to stand at the bar at a seat behind her. She says "you can order a drink from right there" but little did she know that my boyfriend knows the owner personally who frequents his bar that he works at each week. So he was going to let him know about the hostess and her rude service, but instead I said forget it and we left. We ended up going to Noveau a block away and was seated immediately, it was a complete 180 as far as environment and service. We ate and left, I checked the waitlist I was still on and it said I was 4th place in line. I drove all the way from Brookhaven to be talked to like I did something wrong when all I did was join a waitlist on yelp and check in as instructed. As a Black business owner myself I took this encounter very personally, as everyone else in front of us was being helped but us. Your hostesses are supposed to be the face of your business and this one was not it. This put such a bad taste in my mouth that I told my boyfriend that I will never return here and to make sure to let the owner know about this experience when he sees him. This is probably not the only complaint that this restaurant has received about this individual, and because of her, Noveau down the block now has a new loyal customer now. I see why our own people find it hard to support other black-owned businesses because you have people like her representing your business and treating us like we owe them something for trying to come in and spend money in your establishment. Then I later learned that she's actually a "family member" representing this business acting like that. I understand that you were operating that day with no A/C and no plumbing (ew) but don't take it out on people who showed up to support your business...again and again. Sad and ridiculous. Signed, byyyeeee never again.

We parked behind the building and a woman who worked there had the door open. She had on a shirt that read Legalize being Black. My husband had on a Black Lives Matter shirt, & I had on a Juneteenth shirt. She smiled and raised her fist at us as we asked to enter through the door and we responded in kind. I love us! She toke U.S. to grab a menu as we walked in to the right of the bar. We found a high top and found what we wanted and went to the counter to order. The prices are reasonable until you get to adding the sides. I overheard another worker tell a couple who ordered after us to order the veggie plate if they were getting 4 sides as it was cheaper. I wish the person who took our order had told use that. The entrees are à la carte and priced reasonably. The sides are $5 each with a few exceptions, a hoecake is $2 and mac & cheese and a couple other sides are $6. Keep that in mind when you come. Our total for our inside dining with a can of ginger ale, fountain Diet Coke, & tip was like $70+ & the to go order for our son's meal w/o a drink was ~$30. It's definitely a good value if you only need an entree and have sides already. The food is good and has large pieces of meat & decent portions so there you go... I ordered the fried green tomatoes as a starter, smoked beef brisket with the barbecue sauce on the side, smoked turkey cabbage, dressing, & the lemon pound cake. Ironically, the fried green tomatoes came out last. They were piping hot though. They could've used a dash of salt but that cornmeal batter was perfection on the tomatoes. You get 3 and 1 was cut a little too thick and it was slightly mushy maybe cause it had to cook longer? But it was still good. The beef brisket was good. It's sliced thin and had that good smoke flavor and was seasoned well. The thicker slices could've been a bit more tender but overall it could rival some barbecue joints. The dressing was good and so was the cabbage, though it was almost tad bit saltier than I'd like. I'd order everything I had again. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed my food. You know not everyone who claims to cook southern food can do so. Oh the pound cake was good and moist. It reminds me of Sammy Chhesecake pound cake. My husband ordered the 3 pieces of fried chicken, collard greens & they do have a lil kick as the menu suggests, green beans, & yellow rice. He was pleasantly surprised with how big the pieces of chicken were. Nowadays people give you what looks like pigeon parts ‍. He said it was a tad salty. He said he also enjoyed his meal otherwise. I forgot to get pictures of the food for our son's takeout order of fried pork chops, collard greens, mac & cheese, & a hoecake. He liked his food as well but also said his pork chops, which were nice size center cut, were well seasoned, but a little too much. He enjoyed the meal and his 1st hoecake. They also do catering and seemed to have a large catering order being prepared to go out. The restaurant & woman's restroom was clean. The staff were friendly and quickly acknowledged us. The music was good but it would've been good to hear a mix of old school with the hip hop since it was Juneteenth. They have a full bar. The only thing I didn't like was Fox News & another conservative news channel on; at least not on JuneteenthZ a generic movie or TV show would've been better for me anyway. They had a steady stream of to go orders and in person dining. I guess we're just late to know about

Service: 5 stars Rarely do I give a 5 star rating for a server but our server was exceptional. He was polite, friendly, helpful and was very attentive. He mentioned some recommendations and as a foodie himself, he made a couple recommendations. Food: 4-4.4 stars Shrimp Po-Boy: 4 Stars for the Po-Boy due to amount of shrimp, though they were larger than normal. The shrimp was seasoned and lightly breaded. However, the bread was wonderful. Light, airy, flaky and had the right amount of crunch to it. The creole sauce was good but the Po-Boy needed some additional hot sauce. The perfectly cooked fries were AWESOME! Highly recommend to get a side if your entree doesn't come with it. Lightly salted with hint of other seasoning and herbs and had the right amount of chew and crunch to them. Also, I believe the oil they use was a better quality than normal. Blacken Mahi-Mahi- 5 Stars The grilled blackened fish has the perfect on of Creole seasoning and was topped with a house-made Chimichurri Sauce and possibly honey. Served with seasonally roasted root vegetables. My wife loved it so much the plate was practically cleaned! LOL! Dessert Beignet - 3.75 Stars By our server's recommendation we ordered a serving of 3 beignets w Pecan Praline Caramel sauce. The beignets were hot and fresh and had a "snowy" amount of powdered sugar. It was covered with goodness. When we bit into them, they were light, airy and had a bit of a chew to them. My wife likes them more than Cafe Du Monde but I thought the dough had more chewiness to them. The Praline sauce was ok. Also, the sauce is extra $3.50. NOTE: Do not order a carton of water - Cost $5. Wasn't worth it. Get regular water. If we were staying another day, we would definitely come back. I highly recommend the place. Extremely disappointing considering I love lima beans and ordered an extra 8 oz serving. Complete waste of money and not up to par at all.. In addition, the delicious cornbread dressing had a ton of small chicken bones in it. Definitely not something that I was expect or look forward to in dressing. Very disappointing. On the positive side, the collard greens, broccoli rice casserole, cabbage, squash medley and baked chicken were good. Overall, this was not a great experience and I will think twice before coming back to this location. However, if you ever want to try it out, I strongly recommend ordering online and setting your pick up time for 15 minutes earlier than when you plan to arrive.
