This is a local go-to spot right across from the beach. The views of the beach are awesome. However, the food is the real reason to take the drive to west Wareham for a seafood party in your mouth, and the Service is amazing as for Felicia, she is polite, kind and helpful when you can't decide what to order she will help you and your taste buds. The food was awesome and the waitstaff was friendly. The atmosphere was nice with a view of the water. I definitely recommend it.

Today we enjoyed a fantastic canal cruise on Hy-Line. We went to Quohog Republic across the street at 6:15. We sat at the sidewalk hi-top and ordered a wine and special drink off menu and a few apps. other parties arrived after us. The wine came in 5 minutes but the drink didn't arrive for 35 minutes. The waitress was apologetic but couldn't explain the delay. The parties that arrived after us were served 2 rounds of drinks and their full dinner before the drink or appetizers arrived. There was no excuse for this service. Never again!!!!! read more

This was our first time here. We went for dinner. It wasn't very busy when we went in. We were greeted and the server took our drink order and we got our drinks pretty quickly. Then, we waited 30 minutes for our server to come back and give us our menus. The table next to us were seated and their orders taken almost immediately and they got their food before us. They were a party of four and it was just my husband and me. Once we ordered, we waited another 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Our oysters and littlenecks came out first, didn't come with any lemons so the server went and got some for us. My husband's Carolina bbq pulled pork didn't have any bbq sauce like the menu said. The pork belly ramen was pretty good. My monstah lobstah roll was huge and had a good amount of lobster. The chowder was creamy and thick but hardly any clams. Oh, everything was cold! I had to ask our server to warm up my chowder. I hate complaining or asking for anything to be brought back but I couldn't eat clam chowder at room temp. The server was very kind. She said it was just their second day of opening for the season and apologized for the way things were running. She was so nice about it. Our bill was $128 before tip. The drinks were good and were fairly priced at $10 each. I'd be willing to give it another try this summer.... maybe. read more

Great spot for drinks outside on the rail to people watch in the summer. We also love the inside bar. The bartenders are all friendly and we've gotten to know them over the years. I love that you can choose a size for the lobster roll which always has the freshest meat. The stuffed quahogs are delicious as well as the grilled cheese sandwich. If you want a great lobster roll and chowder, this is the place. The monster lobster roll (1#) is so stuffed w lobster that you have to eat the lobster off the top before you eat the roll. Not a bad thing tho! Looking forward to eating here again. read more

NEW FAVORITE! We are in town for business every Sept/Oct for about 6 weeks. We have tried to visit this place many times before, but they always closed for the season. Now they are staying open later in the season and we are SOOOOO happy! This place ROCKS! Cute little place, love the outside deck, but let's get real, it's all about the food! We've been twice now. I got the small (yeah, right) lobster roll and clam chowder combo both times I came. FIrst, I don't know who can eat the Monsta one, not I. The "small" is bigger than anyone else's I've seen. If you look closely at the last pic I posted of the lobster roll, there is an ENTIRE lobster in there. There is a full, uncut lobster tail, and two full, uncut claws, and a ton of other meat around it. Full lobster kids. The grill on the bun is perfect. While the bun is hot, the lobster itself is served cold and undressed, but with warm drawn butter on the side. MMmmmmmmmm. It's my fav lobster roll hands down. Both times I've had a few of the raw littlenecks. So good. Also last time, the BF went with me and he had the Cuban sandwich, as he is not a fan of clams or lobster (I know, and I stay with him anyway). This Cubano was INSANE good! I had a couple bites. We both love a Cubano, and this is probably the best one either of us have ever had. Great bread, and it's HUGE! All in all, great place, great food, great vibe, friendly peeps. Great place to stop in after the beach or if you're looking for a seaside bite to eat. Great drinks. One of the best mojitos that I have had. The lobster rolls come in 3 sizes, which is great depending on how hungry you are or perhaps how much you're looking to spend. The lobster is super fresh and barely any mayo if any at all. They give you melted butter on the side. We started off with oysters. They were fresh however, very tiny. The clam chowder is good. It has a smoky taste of bacon, but could've used a few more clams. The stuff quahog is southeastern New England style with chourice and peppers. Overall highly recommend this place will definitely be back! read more

Love this place! The food is great, good size portions, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. I recommend the stuffed scallops.

Ordered the baked haddock. Probably the worst dish I've ever ordered in a restaurant. A dried out, tasteless, paper thin "fillet" of fish smothered with a thick gross sauce on top of a mushy, uncooked pile of slimy, horrible stuffing. Couldn't eat the stuffing or the sauce, barely ate the tasteless, sliver of fish. Their specialty chowder, for which I'm assuming they're named, was barely warm and tasteless. I loaded it with pepper so it was at least edible. Thankfully it came with crackers, so I didn't leave starving due to the inedible, baked haddock dish that came my way minutes later. I'll never go to this place again. Horrible. read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday after seeing it on the Phantom Gourmet for years. Worst steamers I've ever had, full of sand, after eating 3 of them my hands were literally covered in sand and they tasted like nothing. The bellies were mushy and the clams fell apart just trying to pull them out of the shell. Scenery is nice, server was nice, but nowhere in New England should be selling steamers that are this bad. read more

We had a group of 7 people that were part of our weekend Willy's Overland Jeepster Club meet visiting from Long Island, New York, Wyomissing, PA, and Goldwater, MI. We were seated immediately in an area with good privacy within the restaurant although heated outside space was offered. None of us were braze enough to challenge the winds of Onset Bay even though it was very pretty. The waitress was extremely patient with us as many in our group were not familiar with a coastal MA menu nor the interesting refreshments. Joyce from PA ordered the Bloody Mary with the Bacon in it and she said that it was excellent while we thought that it was a hoot. Stam's Manhattan was excellent. The rest of us found soft drinks and ice tea to be plentiful. Three of us had fish & chips. Two of us had the baked haddock. One had the 1/2# and one had the 1/4# lobster rolls. Three of us had the clam chowder. Let me tell you that all of the food was absolutely excellent and I am the one from MA that really knows this food. The waitress even provided each couple with separate checks which makes it easier for those who do not drink. There was no rush by the waitress for us to finish and pay which is a mark of an excellent restaurant. We will be back! I don't remember the waitress' name, but the receipt noted her as "Night B." We were in the area of onset, and looking forward for some place to eat dinner. We were attracted to Quahog with the outdoor seating and lively environment. Seating is a little bit restrictive for large groups (require party to be split). I ordered the lobster chowder for appetizer, and a lobster roll for main course. The chowder was thick and tasty, but didn't have a lot of meat in it. The lobster roll was great and I upgraded the fries to truffle fries which I would recommend. We ordered the fish and chips for my son, and the fish was a little dry. The breading is cornflakes, which is not the norm for fish and chips. Overall great experience and extensive menu. read more

Terrific atmosphere. Right across Onset Beach. The staff is very friendly at the beginning, middle and end of service. I've had the quahog chowder (outstanding) grilled chicken and stuffed quahogs. No complaints at all. The customers next to me got the lobster roll, which was huge! It is pricey. About $35 for 1/2 pound. However that is not their fault. Lobster is expensive everywhere at the moment due to the bad winter and spring weather. It's more expensive at other places. Also try the mojitos. Very tasty! Many different kinds. They also have a small raw bar. In addition, there is an ice cream shop attached to the restaurant, called Guido's. Very good! read more

We had a Monday late lunch at quahog Republic, and we can't say enough about this great little Pub. Good beer selection plus house made spiced rum and aged Mai Tai (!) in casks at the bar. We went for the Lobster roll but the market was pretty steep that day and so they were a tad pricey - NP, we had stuffed Quahog, Quahog chowder and Fish and chips. Everything was delicious right down to the tasty house made tartar sauce. Fish was very delicately battered, so the delicious fish flavor came through. Fries were perfect, chowder creamy and delicious and the stuffie was rich in flavor, slightly spicy and we didn't leave a crumb! Great location on cobblestone street right behind the great NB Whaling Museum. Outdoor seating looked inviting, but we opted for the AC :) Can't wait to go back when the lobster market comes back to earth. read more

Came here today (July 4) for lobster rolls. First and foremost the lobster rolls are good and the fries a delicious. Unfortunately the cook is extremely loud and doesn't stop talking at the top of his lungs. The couple next to us we're joking how loud he was. Good lord. This lobster roll is still one of the best. We got the large again and it's seriously so good. I got extra butter because it's early in our vacation and why not? The fries are still on the skimpy side but you're not there for the fries. There was a solo guitarist singing and it was a nice touch to the patio experience. The most ridiculous part was their "bowl" which might as well have been a damn Dixie cup was $7. If you want much better chowder for a lower price go to Lindsay's down the street, the quality is so much better.
