Grilled Asian Steak Tips with Truffle Fries
Nancy H.

Mahoney's is a great place in this area for drinks and a bite to eat. The atmosphere is sort of like an elevated pub feel, with dim lighting and lots of hanging lights. We also loved the exposed brick. We came for a double date night and found that it was the perfect place for that. It wasn't too busy, but just loud enough to allow us to laugh and chat without feeling like we would bug anyone. Service was good. The younger guy who served us was efficient and friendly. We got quite a few cocktails, all of which were strong but good. For an appetizer, we tried the Irish Nachos which weren't great. They call them "nachos" but the potatoes were large, soft chunks similar to home fries, which left the entire dish far too soft. If potato chips had been used, it would have been at least a bit like a nacho, but these missed the mark. No crunch like you expect when you order any variation of a nacho dish. We also got a cup of the clam chowder, which was delicious. For entrees, we tried the Chicken Caesar Salad and the steak tips with truffle fries. The salad was perfect. Chicken was cooked nicely, the dressing was flavorful. Overall, just a really good Caesar salad. The steak tips weren't as great. Ordered medium rare.. they came out well done. Overall, we would come back for the atmosphere but food and drinks were average.

This place is great. We got Irish Nachos~ they were delicious. Now I know what Irish Nachos are supposed to taste like. Fresh red-bliss potatoes in a skillet with all sorts of toppings. And a salad with blueberries, apples over a spring mix. Excellent! The staff was attentive and professional. Freshly made food makes all the difference, IMHO. We parked across the street in the public parking and it was an easy crossing to the restaurant.

Great ambiance, great food, great service. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in the area. There were 3 of us and we all ordered the Shepherds Pie which was on a special menu that night. It was fantastic. My husband said his gravy was cold... so that's why I put 4 stars instead of 5

New "American" on Main across from the Mass Maritime Academy. Open about a month. Very busy bar Crowded restaurant American with an Asian twist. We didn't order appetizers, no food brought til the main course which took a while to prepare. Lobster Roll was excellent. Cod was super as well but not much better spice. . Eggplant was plain with large pasta. Desserts were limited. Felt more of a bar then restaurant. Looked like lots of drink choices and beers on tap. Reservations not accepted.

My wife and I have been here many times and nice to have a place like this in our town. Last visit, I ordered the smoked pork tacos and my wife got the beef short rib tacos which was a special that weekend. Both were amazing. I didn't know if two tacos would be enough, but I couldn't even finish the 2nd one. I do love the fact that they do have different menu options each weekend on special. We tend to check out the specials before we go.

I have been here four times in the past four weeks. I had the salmon over steamed bok choy twice "AMAZING" I had the tempura fried cod finished with sweet chili sauce over sticky Rice the fish was cooked to perfection it couldn't have been any better! I also had the Sesame crusted tuna, which I think was my favorite! The service at the bar has been exceptional and you can usually find the owner working the crowd at the bar or in the dining room! Couldn't be happier with Mahoneys!

The food is consistently excellent with delicious, homemade-style creations, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is spot-on (families are welcome) -- great music and the hometown teams always on the TV. The beer and drink selection is solid and festive year-round. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out. This place is a favorite for a reason.

Hi. North Jerseyan here. Longtime Yelper. I hereby offer my wholehearted endorsement of Rod & Rail…read moreto anyone visiting or living in / near Cape Cod. Ambiance: Local bar. Not divey, but you walk in and you're basically at the bar. There's bar seating, a few tables on the side, a few in the back. People were eating and drinking wherever. Service: Prompt, friendly. The bartender was the owner, chatting with a local about working where he lives and drinking while he works. But very friendly and open to visitors here. And no overwhelming Boston accent. If you're not local, you'll do fine. Food: OK, I was here on an impulse search for dessert. They happened to have fresh homemade donut holes to go, so I got some cinnamon dusted. And by dusted, I mean WHOA NELLY that's a lot! And the donut holes were also huge. And they came with warm caramel dipping sauce. I couldn't put it down. While I was waiting (again, didn't take long, they were just shaking the topping on in the back), I looked over and saw bar pies that honestly? To this North Jerseyan? Looked like good tasty pizza. In Massachusetts. You have been warned. If you stay on Route 25 to bypass Bourne on your way to or from the bridges, you're not just adding mileage to your car to save a little time. You're missing out on the best place in a country mile.
