I just want to acknowledge the excellent service we recently received from Quail Plumbing originally contacted through Scottsdale plumbing. Our home is 50+ years old. The sewer line cracked between the house and the street. The entire pipe needed to be replaced. We had 2 quotes for repair. Quail came in at a more reasonable quote and we went with them. This included the camera scope, dig, pipe replacement and putting the dirt back to the original look. We thought we were going to have to dig up our walking path as well but they were able to navigate around the path instead. *After completion, we re-seeded the lawn ourselves ourselves. We worked directly with Kevin but the entire crew were professional and couldn't have been nicer. They were respectful of us and the property. The crew really seamed to enjoy their jobs. Brandon Rozier arrived timely and got right to work fixing my leaking toilet. He correctly diagnosed the problem and repaired it. He neatly caulked the toilet base and cleaned up thoroughly afterward. He tested it multiple times to make sure there was no leak. It works and looks like new, and the charge was reasonable. He also took 5 minutes to look at my kitchen faucet and provide his thoughts that I might be able to easily fix the issue myself. I tried it and my wife was delighted with the results. Day 1 Cheapest quote we could find. Gave all info to their secretary. December 21: Arrived to do the job with wrong info about job that we provided to the receptionist. Glad we were there and spoke to them prior to starting. They started at 8am, finished the job at 9am and waited here until 3pm for APS to arrive to turn on the power. Not necessarily their fault, but they are scheduled to come back tomorrow to do more work, so why not just do more work (?). Leaving on day 1, they said they were late to another appointment "by over two hours." Day 2 Arrived to day 2 of job with wrong information about what we wanted (again). Glad we were there and spoke to them prior to starting. Electrical company refuses to call the plumber so they can work together about the day 2 job. Plumber refuses to call the electrical company. So we're playing phone tag between these two companies about scheduling. Both companies told us they'd work it out themselves. Had to reschedule day 2 because Electric company didn't have the correct size wire. Day 3 January 18: Rescheduled day for both companies. Electrical company arrived and got to work by 7:30am. Quail Electric called at 8am to RESCHEDULE due to the water heater not yet arriving (they've had since November to order it). Quail was scheduled to be here so the electric company can do their job this time. Quail agreed to send someone out - thank goodness. Day 4 Quail Plumbing arrived on day 4 (January 19) to finally do the work they were supposed to do on day one (December 21). After an hour of work, the contractor stated he did not have enough pipe I need to run to get more. He also wanted to know how he was supposed to finish the job that he supposed to know how to do. He wanted the electrician to come and guide him through the process of hooking the water heater to current. We informed him that the electrician stopped by on day 3 (Jan 18) and Quail Plumbing said "they would be able to hook the water heater up to current themselves." Obviously not. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Just when I thought we were all finished with this company, we got a call from the electric company wondering if the plumber "ever did turn on the DIP switches." We were puzzled, went out to the water heater, and the electrician walked us through how to check. Nope. The plumber didn't do that either. FFS. Currently just waiting on the bill, going to see if they took off money for requiring the electrician to come back out - at which time they could have asked about the DIP switches. Plumber had it set at 160 but our breakers can only handle 100 so if the full power was used, it would have blown a breaker. Post - Work Tub water doesn't get hot unless we slow the flow of water. Takes longer to fill but it gets hotter. At full flow, water doesn't get any warmer than 102°. Showers get as warm as 113°. Takes a full 25 minutes to fill the tub with the spout on half open. The bill was finally received on March 18 (58 days after work was finished), and they did NOT initially credit us the $160-180 for the electrician coming back out like they said they would. After a call to Katrina in the office, they did work it out and honor it. We think Katrina is the only thing saving that company. We hope they are paying her well. Overall, this is an absolutely ridiculous company that we would NEVER recommend to anyone and in fact, would go out of our way to try to talk people out of using. read more

If I could give ZERO star to this company, I would! DO NOT BOOK W THEM, you will regret it. Unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars just to have cloudy/murky water and get YELLED at by the manager, Maggie, then by all means.. book with them. I am so livid. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company and individual before. They were late to our appointments several times and instead of giving us a courtesy call, they just left us waiting. There were multiple occasions that we had to call wondering if they were coming. Not even once did they apologize. When I mentioned this to the manager, Maggie, she responded with "This is the service industry and that is how it is!" WAIT, WHAT?! So since it's a service industry you can just be late and not apologize or take responsibility for it?! How appalling! We all don't like our time to be wasted and I can't sit there forever wondering if the plumbers are going to show up for the APPOINTMENT. All I wanted was an apology and a courtesy call. Besides the horrible manager and customer service, our water heater and shower weren't fixed. We were charged hundred of dollars for them to fix our hot water and shower issue but ended up with murky water instead. When I inquired about this with Maggie she did not offer a solution but instead YELLED at me saying "I AM NOT GOING TO REFUND ANY FEES." I get it. But did you have to YELL at me?! I've never had such a manager be so rude. Oh, right, it's the "service industry, it is what it is" right? You can yell at customers and be late to appointments right? read more

The plumbers themselves are very nice and professional when they arrive, but their major issues are in their office and billing department. We had work done on September 4, paid in full with a credit card, and come to find out they filed the paperwork in the wrong pile and ultimately didn't run the card until 12/28 when they were doing end of the year auditing. Maggie in the font office who I spoke with told me that they left a voicemail with my wife to let her know, yet after going through my wife's phone, 0 missed calls, 0 voicemails were from Quail at all. She could not tell me when they called my wife, who actually called her, or at what time the call was at, leading me to believe that they never actually called... It is absolutely ridiculous to have a billing mistake take 3+ months to fix, to then claim you called (and at that, why would you only call once??? You NEED to ensure that you speak to someone regarding an issue like this), especially during the Christmas time as I don't know where I'm supposed to get an extra $230 that we had budgeted for this fix back in September when it was done. read more

Textbook bait-and-switch Long story but here it goes: I hired Quail Plumbing to install a gas line for a new cooking top. The plumber came to take a look and quote the job. It was already suspicious that the plumber was in a van marked "Scottsdale Plumbing". He looked at the location where the line needed to be installed and give me a quote (8 hours of work). I scheduled for the work to be done one week later. This is where the problems started. The plumber came and immediately started complaining that he didn't have his van and his equipment, that he would have to go to the store to buy a level, etc. Next he started complaining that the drywall wasn't removed. During his visit a week earlier he didn't mention anything about this. Next he started complaining about the connections to the water heater (which hadn't changed from the week before, when he quoted the job) So all in all, before he even started he spent about 20 minutes complaining about the job. I ended up having to lend him my level so he could get started. Next he took out the water heater and started ripping out the drywall. He came and got me and started complaining again how this was going to be a lot of work. He got all upset of how the copper and gas lines were sitting in the wall, how he would have to drill through studs (like he didn't know this already before). Apparently the gas line went to the attic and he couldn't see where it went. To make a long story short he asked me how he had to do his job. He also told me I would have to remove all the drywall from floor to ceiling on one wall in the kitchen. Next he told me to think about it and he would reschedule if I agreed with the extra work: textbook bait and switch. This is where I got upset and told him I got other tradesman scheduled and I could not wait a week to get this done. Again he started complaining at which point I told him that I just wanted the work done the same day as he told me he could do a week earlier. I also told him that I didn't care if it took him longer as long as the work was done the same day. I thought this was it and he would get the stuff done the same day. This is were it got interesting... At this point he left and called the office. A minute later I got a call from someone whose name I can only assume is "Karen". She asked me if I had been verbally abusive. To which I said replied "No", then she asked me if was swearing. To which I answered "No". (This plumber would probably be the first man in history with tattoos over his neck and hands who is offended by swearing). Then she asked me if I wanted to reschedule for next week. At which point I told her I wanted the work done this day as I thought that was what was agreed 5 minutes earlier with the plumber. There was no reason at all for her to get involved. After some back an forth she had the gall to tell me to shut up while she was speaking and didn't want to listen to anything that I said. Every time I tried to say something she would interrupt me and didn't want to hear anything about the unprofessional behavior of the plumber. Apparently the customer is always wrong with Quail Plumbing. When she was done with her diatribe I told her that I would like to call my mommy too to help me out and defend my case, just like the plumber called his mommy (aka the office Karen). Needless to say "Karen" didn't like this and was offended. She decided there and then that they were not going to do the job and that I needed to look for another plumber to get the gas line done. This is the best plumbing service! They came out as soon as we called. Our solar hot water heater was leaking fast and we could not turn it off. Quail could not replace it that late in the day, but sent a plumber out right away to turn the flow to it off. Whew, at least we had water to the house now. Then they returned very early the next morning to replace it. They were extremely professional, courteous, and very reassuring that all would be good in a short time. They were right! We could not be happier with the service, from the first person we spoke with to the last. Great family company. I highly recommend them. read more

If it was possible to get less than a star I would. Their five star reviews were what l led us to call them and hire them. We paid $800 .. They came out ran a camera down and saw that the tree roots were a problem with the sewer. They used the snake, and wanted to make one more pass to make sure. At that time the snake got stuck. They tried to use a truck to pull it out which obviously made it worse. They refused to come and get their equipment. Wanting us to pay $3,000 for them to dig it out. Amazing business. A household name company told me I needed tens of thousands of dollars' work replacing (or recoating) sewer pipes, blaming very old leftover tree roots for toilet blockage. Quail was recommended to me not only by someone from an A/C-heating company I use, but from my bank, as well. After an excellent person camera-ing the pipes (N/C), the owner of Quail called to tell me there was nothing wrong with those pipes, that they needed no work whatsoever...that roots were not the issue for any toilet blockage that had occurred. Impressed with the people and the honesty; will not only be using them from now on for any plumbing issue, but recommending them to others. Just outstanding. (And wiping my brow!) read more

My mother-in-law's house in Scottsdale required a complete re-pipe to remove the polybutylene pipes which were installed in the 1990s. My plumber told me to call Quail. They were very knowledgeable and kind. The workers completed the job in a reasonable amount of time, under the excellent supervision of Ken. The price was a bit more, but the work was outstanding. When you call inquiring about service they will give you the estimated costs if you ask at mininum such as labor, trip charge and machine charge if applicable. They don't play the I DON'T KNOW game that most other valley plumbing compaines do such as Roto Rooter. This prevents the awkard moment of when the technician comes out and evaluates your plumbing issue and then quotes you an off the wall amount to fix it. Then you feel stuck because you know nothing about plumbing except that it makes your life easier. I was creating a bathroom out of a large laundry room and needed extensive plumbing in the house and to tie into our septic system outside. I got three quotes and picked Quail Plumbing. The owner himself came out to quote the job. He was professional and knowledgeable AND helpful with some tips on how to make the job better. We received his quote in days. It was mid range, and since I liked the owner I picked them. Well, his staff was just like him; courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. They started one week later and were on time everyday. The project took one full week and each day I was able to see the great quality of work that had been done. I've had other big jobs done in my house with remodeling and so many times there is a day or two skipped and I would have to call the contractor to know what was going on. Not these guys. Everyday a full crew worked on the project until it was done. I was very impressed with all aspects of Quail Plumbing, from the initial meeting with the owner, to the work that was done, to the professional staff, and at the end the billing. This is a great company. I had Bob come service my water softener and then install an RO under my kitchen sink. Bob is great! He is very knowledgeable, honest, friendly, and worked efficiently. Many plumbers make commissions selling RO systems. The plumbers at Quail do not make commission off of the RO products. I felt like I got a very honest, upfront and reasonable price for the RO system and service. The scheduling department is also very prompt and friendly. They always got back to me quickly, and everything was done on a timely manner. I'm glad to say I've found a plumber/company I can call for any of my needs. 10-20-2021 Hydro jetted and camera inspected main to clear roots intrusion throw out line Tested and examined line after jetting line is clear. Stated on invoice. Web site states hydro jet clears sewer line 100% Called due to being plug up again 10-26-2021 told that the tech said roots where still in the line, we where told it was 100% clear. We where told either tech lied to us or the office. Told they would charge us to come back out, on warranty work, finally said they would comeback out for free. Sent another tech out who used a drain cleaner on the line and pulled out some roots proving it is not cleared of roots. We didn't get what we paid for, which is 100% root removal. Had another company come out, who gave us a video of a camera inspection of our sewer line, showing it has allot of roots. I paid for 100% removal of roots. I've requested a refund. I will be submitting it to my charge card company. read more

Based on a good experience my neighbor had with Quail Plumbing, I scheduled them to do repair my two outdoor water faucets. Their plumber Bob Bryan was on time. He listened carefully to my description of the problems I was having, explained the options to me and then proceeded to complete the work. I liked that he explained what he was doing and why. The condition of our faucets and the plumbing supplying them, he had some challenges but resolved them all. I was very impressed with how conscientious he was and with the quality of the finished product. I will use Quail Plumbing again if needed. read more

Several months ago we were unfortunate to have a major problem with our laundry room leech field. This ended up a much larger problem to fix and even bigger problem to find anyone competent enough to handle such a big job. Several plumbing outfits promised they could handle the project but ended up just blowing smoke and wasting time. Fortunately we have a friend that deals with real estate and repairs. She said there was only one place that could handle the job, and that they were the best - "Quail Plumbing". And boy, was she right. Every single person we were came in contact with was outstanding. They are a great example of how greatness starts at the top and trickles down. We never met the owner but I can assure you that he set a standard that trickled down to everyone associated with Quail Plumbing. They were all so polite, professional and treated our home like it was their own. We've lived in the Valley over 30 years and have never encountered a professional organization this good. I can, however give a list of companies that are borderline crooks and extremely unprofessional. We are in no way connected to Quail Plumbing but gladly recommend them to all our friends to be their first and foremost choice for any plumbing jobs small or huge. I was referred to Quail by our normal plumber (who was too busy to get to us in a timely manner). The front office is very customer oriented and personable. The plumber on the other hand was inefficient, somewhat rude, incompetent, and very messy (leaving bits and pieces and trash lying about). He was asked to turn the water off at the suite in order to replace a faucet but he turned the water off to the whole building which affected the businesses of the other tenants of the building. We have specific basket strainers that accommodate hair traps and now one of the hair traps will not work because of the work done on the new basket strainer. He took 5 hours to replace three basket strainers and a faucet and a p-trap (which he broke) and kept taking cigarette breaks prolonging the job. Needless to say we will never use Quail again based on this plumbers performance. read more

They said they would have someone call to help me in a few min. The tech called and asked me what the issue was and it was a simple fix that I was able to do myself. He wasn't expecting as much work as I had. But he plugged on. Spent over 12 hours and got everything done. Not one complaint from him and he didn't cut any corners even though it was more than a day's work. Now I don't have to take another day off my job. I call these guys after 5 PM late yesterday and they came out the same night to snake my house since I had issues with water coming up from the bottom of my shower. The guy had to come from East Phoenix all the way out to the Northwest Valley to take care of me and my bill was only $200. Can't say enough about how great these guys came through for me at what I feel was a very fair and reasonable price for somebody to come after hours on the same day for emergency service. Recently I needed a faucet replaced, I called Scottsdale Plumbing. Nick was the tech, he was fantastic. Several weeks later I needed some toilets repaired so I called Scottsdale Plumbing again. Nick was the tech again and was, again, fantastic. It turns out, what I thought was a running toilet, was a hot water slab leak. I decided to have the whole hot water system in the house re-piped. Scottsdale/Quail sent Carlos & Tom. I couldn't be happier. They were the best. Friendly, hard-working and neat. They did a fabulous job and to top it off they finished a day early saving me thousands of dollars. They were happy to send a contractor to fix water damage caused by their mistake (a good thing), but expected me to wait close to a week to get a water heater installed.
