I have been bringing my three huskies here since we first moved to Utah in 2020. The staff have always been very open and honest, and caring, they always ensure that they keep me updated on my kids and when they prescribe anything for them they explain it in detail and everything. Earlier this year my daughter snow had 10 huskies puppies and they were there to help me and give them a great up to date shots and everything. I really love the way they treat you. I love the professionalism they have but not just that, the way they make you feel like family. My kids love coming here and they are always so happy when they come and leave. Thank you! read more

Brought our cat in for grooming. We "authorized" a tranquilizer "if needed". Several hours later, a shave and bath for the cat totaled $205.23! Here are the line items on our bill: Feline Shave down (with Sedative) B48 68.46 Evaluation by Doctor during groom 58.34 Feline grooming sedation 38.52 Additional Dematting 12.15 Required vaccinations 25.10 Tax 2.66 With the $10 tip we added, our total was $215.23 for a single cat grooming. Two sedative charges - and essentially an office visit charge to have it administered - left us with the sense we've been taken advantage of. It's a nasty taste. read more

I called to set an appointment for my dog who was having a problem with her eye. The appointment was for 12:30 pm the next day. I arrived at 12:25 pm and saw a sign posted at each of the parking spots instructing me to call a number to check in. I called and checked in and waited and waited and waited. At 12:48 I called the check in number again and the phone went to voicemail. I left. I know it's Covid and everything but when a business tells me to arrive at a certain time I expect them to be ready to provide services at that time. Obviously my time is of no value to them so I'm looking for another vet who thinks my time is worth something too. I'm changing my review to 5 stars. About an hour after returning home a received a phone call from the clinic apologizing for not coming out to meet me. They said that if I brought my dog back they wouldn't charge me for the exam. I had spent about an hour on the phone researching and calling other vets and I wasn't having much luck getting an appointment set up in the next day or so, so accepted their offer and returned. When I arrived they came out to my car in a couple of minutes and took my dog in to look at her eye. They confirmed there was a problem and prescribed an ointment and baby aspirin. The prescription was about $22 which I think is fair. So, now I am very happy and relieved that my little dog is on the mend. They worked hard for me and my dog today so I'll be returning when my puppy needs veterinary care. read more

so, after a terrible ordeal with our now previous vet luckily we ended up here. at least a dozen other vets had no interest in helping my little 5 lb yorky but within a couple of mins on the phone with the folks at quail pointe veterinary clinic and we were set for a next day appointment. after consulting them and her exam we were given some good news as well as not so good. she's 14 yrs old and never spayed. slightly enlarged heart but nothing to worry about as well as some other age related issues. the point here is that Mac took the time along with the other techs to do a thorough and complete exam. after our discussion it was sched for mon and i have supreme confidence that they will give the very best care possible to my little girl. thanks to the staff. just a wonderful group of people. read more

In October our dogs were taken to Quail Point Veterinary Clinic in Clinton, UT. The first time was because Roxy needed surgery. The second and third time were for boarding purposes. We asked them to do immunizations and grooming. When I picked them up, they were dirty and stinky but had bandanas around their neck. I was charged $2500 for the cost. I was told by the front desk this included the cost of boarding, immunizations and surgery. I called today for our immunization records only to find that the immunizations were never given. They refused to make it right other than to charge me for another $186. ($93 per dog) The office manager feels that I should have called to verify that they were given and because it's been almost a year of my dogs being at risk with no vaccines, that they don't need to honor that. If you have had vaccines on your animals at Quail Point, I would highly recommend calling and asking for immunization records to ensure that the work you paid for was actually completed. (If it wasn't, they won't honor it...but at least you'll know to take your animal somewhere else) read more

I have had many male dogs neutered and I don't think after my experience with quail pointe I will ever go anywhere else! They took amazing care of my dog and even went the extra mile to keep him overnight after to make sure he was doing well! Just another crappy Utah vet, except this one is more expensive. I've never left this office feeling good and happy to return. Im not a fan of Dr. Ford's condescending attitude towards pretty much any choices I make as a pet owner, ie; food choices, neutering age, or even tone to talk to my dog in. What really upset me is that I was told if my dog had to have an emergency c-section Dr. Ford is "the best" well she left a whole pound puppy in my poor pitty, thank god my girl delivered the still born two days later or she could have died! Not to mention the crappy suture job. I asked for a refund since I was lead to believe this dr was the best and they said they don't refund surgeries I ended up getting 200$ back of a 2200$ surgery that put my dogs life in jeopardy... I even looked at the x-rays and could tell there was 9 puppies. I'm still wondering how you don't notice a whole freakin puppy? I was also not happy with them having to use anesthesia to clean my dogs ears. Poor guy was out of it for a while day. Patti the receptionist is also condescending and a bit rude, which she thinks is funny. I've seen her make multiple mistakes like not giving someone's debit card back and then trying to give it to us. Where is the love Quail Pointe?? I feel like you guys are just in it for the money which must be why you are so miserable and overcharging. We brought our son here last year to get neutered and didn't know until recently that they also do grooming. The staff here is always professional and prompt, even when they're super busy- their customer service is always on point. I had a great feeling today bringing my son in especially when Jennifer came to grab him for his grooming- I could tell that she genuinely loved what she does in dealing with the animals there. When I picked him up, he wasn't panicky or anxious, and I didn't have the feeling that he was mistreated - which I did at the place we previously would take him for his grooming. He actually came back all chipper and happy - something he's never done before! I'm so relieved that we found a place we can trust in handling our son. I'm amazed that they have all his information as well since we weren't sure he was up to date on his annual shots - and thanks to his paperwork- we know! I really wanted to like Quail Pointe Veterinary Hospital, but they are as incompetent as they some. I have been taking my 3 dogs here since I moved to Utah 2 years ago. There have been a few instances in particular that I'm going to share. I brought my dog, Toby, in for a skin issue as well as strongly smelling of yeast. Doctor Ford gave him a steroid shot and completely ignored the fact that I said he smells like yeast. A couple weeks went by and the steroid shot did nothing. I called to make another appointment and asked for any other vet to see my dog except Doctor Ford. I brought Toby in and he was seen by another vet who diagnosed him with double yeast infections, so both ears. Toby was given medication and it went away. No more yeast smell. On 06-07-23, I brought my dog Spot in for teeth cleaning. I was very hesitant to do so because Spot has collapsing trachea, which can complicate the teeth cleaning process. I dropped Spot off at 0700 hours which was the drop off time. I get a call a short time later telling me they ran bloodwork on Spot and his white blood cells were elevated, so the vet didn't feel comfortable completing the teeth cleaning. I agreed. She suggested to send him home with B16 supplement and recheck him in two weeks, or run more tests to figure out what was wrong. I didn't see the point in waiting so I gave her the go ahead to run more tests. She decided X-rays were the next step. She called me and told me that she believed Spot had a mass/tumor because she saw his gallbladder was enlarged and his organs were being pushed to the side by something. She suggested scheduling Spot for an ultrasound to confirm if it was a tumor. I paid about $500 for the tests and picked him up and brought him home. On 06-09-23, I brought Spot in for his ultrasound. I was asked if Spot ate and I said he did. No one from Quail Point told me not to feed him before his appointment, so I fed him. I was informed it may be hard to conduct the ultrasound because he was fed. I told them we could reschedule. The tech told me they would call the traveling vet, who performed the ultrasounds, to see if it was a problem. They were not able to get ahold of her, but told me they would keep Spot and if they couldn't perform the test, they would call me to come get him. The ultrasound was performed and it was concluded that Spot does not have a tumor. I was asked if they could run a urinalysis. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! That should have been done at the beginning with the bloodwork. What kind of establishment are you running here!? They have done bloodwork, X-rays, and ultrasounds but no urinalysis. After the urinalysis is conducted, I get a call from the vet and she tells me Spot has a bladder infection. All those tests and 1k later to find this out. I was made to believe my dog had cancer for the last two days! This place is a joke! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!! You will spend a ton of money here for nothing. I will never be bringing any of my pets here again and of you're smart neither will you. Fair warning. read more

The nurse asks have you had your vaccine? I said no and she said OK well you can't come in to meet with the doctor. What if I have questions? She will call you and I said so you're really telling me that I can't come inside the vets office because I haven't had my vaccine But i do have a mask on and she said yes because our doctor is at high risk for Covid so she can't be around anyone that doesn't have their vaccine.. Seriously like I am blown away. P.s you can still get covid! I will not be returning to sit in my hot car for an hr.. We have two large dogs that act as service dogs to both my disabled vet husband, and me. Their health is incredibly important, and care for large dogs (130 lb each) can be quite expensive. Dr. Ford and her staff are amazing. They are so caring, and work with us to ensure our dogs stay healthy and happy. We are NEVER surprised by unanticipated high costs, as they carefully go over any treatment needed, and the cost that will be associated with it - as well as alternatives that are available. Dr. Ford is amazing she has taken care of our pups for more than 10 years. She loves our fur babies as if they are her own. Ruger, my service dog, loves going there. He also is groomed there and The groomer is fabulous. I made the mistake of taking Ruger an Airedale to another groomer when I couldn't get him in fast enough he came back home looking like a very large schnauzer it has taken over 2 months for him to look like a beautiful Airedale again. I will not make that mistake again. Our last Great Dane almost died twice and thankfully Dr Ford was there to save his life. I trust her with my fur kids. read more

I have really struggled with whether or not to write a review, but I feel like I have to. I have been taking my dog to Quail Point for at least two years. He had a major skin condition that made his life a living hell for a long time. He would literally scratch his skin off. Everything Quail Point did happened because I kept begging them to try things. They kept him all day once because they said they would observe him, but they gave him back to me in the same horrible condition he went in. Last week I called in tears begging them to figure out what was going on. The front desk told me that Doctor Ford was really good with skin conditions and to bring him on Monday (today). If she was good with skin conditions why didn't she bother to figure it out before? He was in so much pain by Friday night that I took him to a 24 hour vet to be put down. He was 4 years old. I couldn't let him suffer anymore. I paid this vet thousands of dollars to not fix the problem, and now my puppy is gone. The front desk was kind, the vets are useless. The I would look for a different vet if you can. read more

I'll admit that the cost is a little on the high side.... nothing like my vet in California though. My daughter took in an abandoned senior cocker spaniel and had taken her to another clinic before and they only ever addressed symptoms. These people at this clinic will help you solve underlying issues so your dog can live a happy and healthy life. They even called 6 days later to see if the dog was doing ok. They figured out what several vets in one clinic could not figure out. Even though the bill was high because we were dealing with several conditions it was actually pretty fair considering we had spent way more for symptomatic treatment at the other clinic. We highly recommend this clinic for all of your animal care needs; their groomer is lovely and kind and the veterinary staff is well informed and friendly. read more

We took our puppy Kush to this place after thinking that she may have gotten a nasty virus and they took great care of her! They did the test in the car and we waited and the results were pretty quick! She saw the vet and we left with medicine for her! The staff was super friendly and answered all of our million questions we had! The vet was quick with the diagnosis and they explained exactly how to administer the medicine and made us feel much better about her sickness! We just received a letter and our pets paperwork for the past 9 years, services that were done on our dogs. It was a letter informing us that QPVH would no longer provide service for our pups. We had to have a test done on one of our dogs to determine if there was a respiratory ailment. The cost was $350 paid in advance. 8 days later we called to see if the results were back, we were told 3days wait was the timeline. The tech I spoke to said that the test was not for the respiratory ailment and another test would be required, WHAT? He would not listen to me that what I was told originally was not what he was explaining. I requested a call back from Dr.Ford that never happened. This was 2 1/2 months ago. Now we have been cancelled with snail mail, due to the Woke culture of the staff, except for the front desk and Kayla they are terrific. So, in closing good luck and be careful what you say and expect from QPVH. read more

My husband took a sick cat to this because of what he thought was a bad tooth and some kind of eye problem. He was blown off and said the tooth was fine without even looking, and that it had a virus and would get over it in a few weeks. Then Covid 19 and we couldn't take the cat anywhere else because of the new rules. He finally took it back here and found out the car has Cancer. He was told if it had been found sooner they could have operated. Like when he took her in the first time. Now we get to watch out beloved cat die. I noticed my dog had tiny bugs on his nose and ears after a recent fishing trip. My husband scheduled a vet appointment and due to the virus they only took the samples of the tiny bugs that we collected. They did not look at my dog or his ears. They looked at the bug under a microscope and determined he had dog lice. They prescribed him a lice medication. When I got home I looked at the bill and they charged me the following. The total bill was $90. 00. The first charge was for $18. That was the cost to look at the bugs under the microscope. The next charge was for $70.00 and that is for the prescription. It's called Frontline plus for dogs. It's 3 applications and it cost $70.00. I then looked on Amazon and Walmart and they were both under $35.00 for the prescription. I called the office and spoke with the manager and she said basically if I buy my medication from anywhere else except from a vet that Frontline is not guaranteed. I told her by law that if I buy my medication for my pet from Walmart, IFA, Target, Petsmart that I'm protected as a consumer and that what she is telling me is incorrect. She decided to hang up on me after a heated discussion because she said there was nothing she could do about it because that's what they pay for their medication. This is what is wrong with America right here! Double charging for something that could be purchased from my local IFA store or Petco. I understand that we all need to make money in this time and paying an extra $10 is understandable but to pay double is consumer fraud. I don't recommend this place my daughter warned me that they have Groupons and of course any Vet who has a Groupon is just in it for the money they don't care about your pet! If the Vet is telling you that Merial won't stand by there medication they are lying. I called Merial and talked with their customer service reps and was told that this policy was dismantled several years ago and this should not be practiced by their sales rep. read more

I don't recommend this vet or boarding facility. I have spent quite a bit of money on different treatments for various ailments and none of them seemed to have been successful. My experience has been that they use a trial and error method at your expense. I guess you have to use trial and error somewhat with animals since they can't speak but I have had a dog for 8 years and have gone here just a few times and have never ever had a vet so willing to treat my dog with expensive methods and yet the treatments themselves don't actually work. We have never actually been successfully treated here for anything. Dr Ford can be cold and rude. I have complained to her about the lack of success on the most recent concern and of course, she wanted to do some extensive and expensive investigation because her original treatment I already paid for didn't work at all. Also, I have boarded him here once and my dog returned without a voice for a week and severe diarrhea. That lead to more expensive treatments and random diagnoses. Moral of the story. Find another vet. read more

1-star is not low enough. We had pre-arranged Quail Point to watch our dog while we were going on vacation, months in advance. We let them know that our dog would have puppies. They asked how old the puppies were going to be and we told them on 2 different occasions. The Friday before our vacation (we left that weekend), at 3pm (1 hour before they close) they called and said they can't dogsit because the puppies aren't old enough. Now, I understand that unvaccinated puppies shouldn't be around other dogs. But they NEVER told us this. We had called to confirm everything 2-3 times and they never once said this isn't allowed. They did say that they have larger kennels to accommodate the mom with 3 puppies. They did say they can't give them de-wormer as they are too young (proving they knew the age). I asked to speak to the manager and was assured that they would have her call me. That call never came. Waiting until the 11th hour to cancel is absolute garbage. Quail Point is completely MIS-MANAGED. Their left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. They said that it's widely known and standard that young puppies aren't allowed, but that contradicts their own staff as NO ONE told us until it was too late for us to make any other backup plans. I wouldn't trust them to look after a goldfish read more

I take my two dogs (Shih Tzu and Cocker Spaniel) here at least twice a year and the groomer does a very nice job -including anal glands for around thirty each. Drop the dogs off in the morning and pickup after work. The groomer is usually booked at least a week in advance so make your reservations early -this is the only "issue" I have because Murphy's law inevitably makes it difficult on me sometimes. With such a busy schedule I would like to see more groomers (I'm fairly certain that they have only one) and is the ONLY reason I would consider calling somewhere else and the ONLY reason for losing a star. Other nice benefits is having the dogs checked out (annual exams, etc) during their wait. The staff have ALWAYS been nice, professional and courteous. Will continue bringing my "puppies" here. Vet service is a bit pricier, but it's well worth the few extra pennies read more

After reading these reviews I was VERY nervous to take my 5 month old pup in to get neutered but they could get him in a lot sooner than others... I am absolutely amazed by my experience, the staff was great and reassured me everything would be fine even though I expressed I had concerns after reading reviews. ... I dropped him off at 830 am went through normal check in and at 10am got a call he was finished and in recovery and doing great...only an hour after I left which was awesome I didn't have to worry all day When I picked him up the staff was again very accommodating and fantastic I will most definitely be back and will be switching vetrinarians because I had an amazing experience Thank you Dr ford and staff! read more

We had a less than stellar experience with Quail Pointe. We took our 4 month old puppy in for lethargy, loss of appetite, loose stool and vomiting; along with goopy eyes (which we figured wouldn't be related to his other symptoms.) The Vet that checked him out took blood work, announced that he had low iron and a low white count decided it was due to his diet, tried pushing the food they stock and ragged on the breeder we purchased the puppy from. Also, said that for his eyes he'll need surgery, which is common for his breed. But they won't do the surgery unless he's neutered at the same time and it needs to happen ASAP. Our puppy isn't even OLD enough to have that done yet. Just, not a great experience. We won't be going back and would discourage anyone else from going there. *Update: Took Mr Puppy to another vet for a second opinion and the poor guy has parvo, which this vet didn't even check for. He's now on treatment and will hopefully be on the mend. read more

I am beginning to conclude that the extreme prices and multiple tests that this vet wants to run are to simply to pay for that expensive building she owns. This vet wants to run a thousand costly tests on your pet and then never respond to you or treat your pet. This has happened to me multiple times. If I take my animals to a different vet, the course of action is significantly different and the cost is incredibly cheaper. I absolutely love this vet, for medical stuff. They have always been incredible with my fur baby. The emergency line is so helpful after hours when you're not sure what to do. The man up front is my favorite person in the entire building. He is so helpful, so nice, so informative. I know my cat is in good hands. Both doctors are amazing. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE !!!!!!!. I am a life long pet owner and have worked with MANY amazing vets over the years... But these guys are TERRIBLE and HEARTLESS. We had been bringing our pets there for a year... even though we found them over priced with lots of extra charges and add ons... but hey it was 5 minutes away so we gave it a go. One day our senior female dog seized with a brain tumor, and we brought her in seizing and basically dying.. My entire family was there in tears... They medicated her with no result but charged us anyway for a bunch of things. They then told us of our expensive options. We knew she needed to be put down. Because we no longer use credit cards and didnt have enough cash on hand, we asked if we could have 2 weeks or so to pay the rest of the bill. ... They said no...They charged us over $100 and then turned us away. They actually had 1 of their techs carry our dying and seizing dog, who couldnt walk and was foaming at the mouth and drooling, with her eyes twitching back and forth,.... out to our car to dump her in the back seat. We all stood there absolutely shocked and crying. The vet didnt even have the decency or stones to come out and talk to us. She sent a tech to tell us no and sent another tech to basically throw our our dog out the door. I was in too much shock to make a scene. I told them they lost our business and then some. There was no response. We drove around frantic until we ended up at the David County Animal Shelter, where they compassionately helped us lay our dog to rest. We were all so broken. I have NEVER been so mistreated or turned away when we were in so much need. As i shared Quail Point Vet horror story, other Quail Point horror stories came back to me. One story ended with people actually picketing outside Quail point. Another person told me their daughter had a "nightmare" experience there... A local animal rescue I started working with recently said they had heard countless bad things about Quail Point Vet... Really? How are these people still in business? I get that they need to make their money but your furry family members deserve better. Dont waste your time or money here because they dont really care about the animals. We had our other dog treated there for a skin infection proir to all of this.. and the meds she, (the main vet) put our dog on, made him gain SO MUCH weight that he could barely walk. He couldnt even make it to the door to ask to go outside and would stand there, peeing on the floor at the door. It took us over a year to get his weight under control again. We started going to Canyon View Cares Vet in Layton... and have never looked back because they ROCK. Its further away for us but worth the drive because they have taken VERY good care of us. Prices are reasonable and they really do care. We also opened a Care Credit account to pay for emergency animal expenses... but Canyon View has always put the health and well being of our animals first. read more

The staff at Quail Pointe are very friendly and professional. The facility is well maintained, clean and each room is decorated in a cat or dog theme. Prior to any service being accomplished, they present you with a written detailed description of what actions will be taken, what medicines are given and how much everything will cost, including the payment options. Each patient receives written and oral explanation of the treatment and payment plans. No surprises at the end, which is very professional. We also take our dogs to Quail Point for grooming and find the service to be fast and efficient. I highly recommend Quail Pointe Veterinary Hospital. read more

The staff at Quail Pointe were very nice! They were very informative and kind. But I'm not impressed at all with Dr. Ford. Dr. Ford tired to tell us our low content wolf/husky/malamute is illegal to own in Utah. She also told us that it's only a matter of time before she snaps and rips someones face off and we'll have to pay for their plastic surgery if we don't get rid of her right away. She compared our dog to a pack of Pit Bulls and said she is naturally vicious. She also said that Davis county animal services would take her away if they found out we had her. I asked a Davis County Police Officer what the laws are. There are NO laws restricting the ownership of wolfdogs in Utah, high, mid, or low content. The blatant ignorance she displayed was very disappointing. What makes me even more upset is that someone who does not do their own research might actually get rid of their pet because of the lies. read more

I could not be more thankful for the entire staff at Quail Pointe. Not only did they try everything possible to save our dog, one of the staff members went home to get her own dog to perform a blood transfusion for our dog! Another staff member stayed much later than her shift required to sit with our dog and provide comfort to him. Dr. Ford personally called me several times to give updates, and then provided a room for our family to say goodbye. I have had terrible experiences with this Vet. They do only care for the money. They delayed my dogs diagnoses of Systemic Lupus and did many unneccesary tests, costing me money and my dog valuable time. After months of tests, money, and no answers from Quail Pointe we took our dog to another Vet. and immediately got a diagnosis- though by this time it was too late, his organs had already recieved too much damage and treatment that would've helped him months prior was useless. My 3 year old learned what death was as he said goodbye to his 'best friend'. My dog was only 3 years old. But hey Quail Pointe got their 1000$+ from this starving family and we got a dead dog. Unless you have a LOT of money and don't mind that your Veterinarian cares little as to whether your pets lives or dies, then go here! read more

I love this veterinary hospital! They are always on top of things and they genuinely care about the animals. Dr. Ford is amazing, and very kind. We've been coming here for years, and we have never had a problem with them in any area be it customer service or animal care. read more
