Dr Mac has been my go-to vet, so can't speak for the others, but have been very happy with all my visits. I recently had to put down my elder dog, Buddy and even though I could not come in (Covid time), they asked me to send in a piece of my clothing and told me they would surround him with love. That was heartbreaking, but I trusted in their care and how they would make sure Buddy left peacefully. A few days later, I received a card from Dr Mac and the staff with best wishes, and also letting me know he left relaxed and peacefully, with my shirt near him. Tender loving care. That is how it feels here for me. My new pup, Louie will continue with them.

I explained to the scheduler that my dog typically has a secondary bacterial infection with the yeast infection; however, I was not sure he had a bacterial infection this time. I explained his symptoms of itchy skin and that I could smell the yeast. During my appointment, the understanding was he was being treated for a yeast infection. I, unknowingly, was sent home with an antibiotic instead. I also purchased an antiseptic antifungal mousse to use to help prevent yeast infections. I wondered why my dog was still itching after the second day of treatment, and I figured it was because his allergies were still affecting him. It was only when I took my dog to their other veterinary clinic at Shiloh that I realized it was an antibiotic. With everything I had going on (e.g., work, school, etc.), I grabbed the bottle since it was the newest medication he had taken and when they looked at it, they mentioned what it was. I was totally surprised. Even in the past when going to Shiloh, I have only taken him in for treatment of a yeast infection with a typical secondary bacterial infection. Why would my dog not be treated medically for the yeast infection? The infection was so severe that any veterinarian would have known to treat him with antifungal medicine as Shiloh did. This is basic knowledge. I will not be returning to Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic. I have never had to check behind Shiloh or his holistic veterinarian in Charlotte and I should not have had to with Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic. What is even worse is I called Friday morning to notify the clinic and was told that someone would contact me that day. They left for the weekend, never returning my phone call. It was evident from their lack of action how they view the importance of my dog's health.

After Charlotte was bitten by another dog, she had to fight off a serious infection. During her recovery, I called or visited the facility nearly every day. The staff and vet were incredibly accommodating and so kind to little Charlotte. We're grateful for their care and will continue trusting them for all our veterinary needs. Charlotte is so happy to be healthy enough to play with her big sister again!

My elderly neighbor, a man in his 80s, found a young cat that had been hit by a car lying in the…read moreroad. The cat tried to run away but was dragging both hind legs behind it. He picked it up and took it to Willow Oak. He wasn't a client of theirs but I was and I recommended them. They took the young cat right in and did x-rays and determined that its injuries were too serious and that euthanasia would be the best thing to do. They euthanized the cat at no charge. My neighbor offered to pay but they said that wasn't necessary. They were very kind and generous and responsive to need in a time of urgency. I am a client of Dr. Cagle who is beyond wonderful in his treatment of animals. All of his support staff have always been very helpful and polite too. The prices are very reasonable. I'm very happy to have found such a great veterinary practice.

I received a phone call at 4pm less than 24hrs. ahead of our dog's surgery advising I was given an incorrect pricing and that the actual price would be at least $200 higher than the amount I was originally given at the time of scheduling. The employee-Marie that called me chalked it up to "oh well she's a new employee". They refused to let me speak with a manager. This has been the worst experience I have had with a vet and would never recommend anyone to send their animal here (I had been warned from several other people and clearly should have listened). The WORST customer service I have ever seen. Our dog was having to be neutered for medical purposes and we were given a timeline of when it needed to be completed, as we were given a certain amount of antibiotics for him to have enough 2 weeks post-op...had we have known we could have made different arrangements...now we have to find another office to perform the surgery, as well as pay for additional antibiotics. Clearly a lack of new employee training, as well as office management..because who calls less than 24 hours before a scheduled surgery and says oh by the way you weren't informed there will be an additional cost. TERRIBLE!!!! Do you and your pet a favor and find somewhere else to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was waiting there for quite a while on a Saturday so just know it will be busy, but it was amazing to see how everyone was working in unison on different animals but as a team. It was almost like being in a kitchen, watching people call orders and stuff. The area isn't an open area so just know that if your dog is reactive, there are a lot of other animals that are visible. Overall, I'm just glad that I was able to get the surgery. I needed for my dog that could've been a very bad situation.
