Tonight was our first time visiting the Angry Bull. The location is impressive and beautiful, great ambiance, and friendly staff. My husband's potatoes were swimming in butter and I opted to not have butter on mine, but then they tasted overly dry, but well flavored. My husband had the New York strip, he said it was fine, cooked properly, we did not like the hollandaise sauce on the asparagus, and they were not prepared properly. I got the chicken piccata and it was so overly seasoned with heavy spice that I could not eat it and my meal needed to be refunded. The bread and salad was good, nice and unique cherry butter. Staff was wonderful despite my embarrassment over the unsatisfying chicken. I would def give it a second chance. read more

On a trip to Chicago from New Jersey, the Angry Bull steals the show! This was one of the better meals I've had in a long time. Top notch seafood chowder - creamy but not overwhelmingly so and fresh seafood, including lobster! I had the Porterhouse Pork Chop and it was delicious - fresh apples and Brussel sprouts as a side done just right! My brother got the two pound Prime Rib and it was as advertised -- he is a hard marker, and it was as good as anything he's had in some of Jersey's fine steakhouses. What made the meal over the top was the service of our waitress, Lori, who was exemplary in every way. What a gem, I come out to Ohio fairly regularly and I will be back!! read more

First time eating at Angry Bull. Atmosphere was ok, a little loud near the bar area. We didn't really have a choice where we sat since we had reservations and didn't know in advance where the quiet parts of the restaurant were. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was excellent. However, I ordered the Prime Rib and it was 80% gristle and inedible. Huge strips of thick, tough membrane on the underside and big chunks (not marbling) of solid fat. The few pieces I was able to eat and saw off with the dull knife were good tasting and cooked correctly. Husband ordered med-rare filet and it came out dry and charred. Lobster tails were good size and cooked well, but the butter was very bland and not salted. Considering the bill was over $200, the prime rib wasn't good quality and the filet was cooked incorrectly. Rustic country atmosphere mixed with an elite fine dining menu experience the food here never falls short. The prime rib came out LUKE WARM. Very bland. Not even sure it was made there or from Gordon's food pre done just warm up the prime rib. Luke warm . The Lake Erie perch was Luke warm and batter was soggggy ! Had browns and fries were hot though. Not worth the drive. In my opinion the roadhouse had much better HOT not luke warm prime rib. We've heard so many good things about this place over the years. I wouldn't say "don't go", but maybe don't go with high expectations. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our experience was not rushed. We each ordered steaks medium well. One steak was tough as leather and the other was bloody. We each got baked potatoes. One was cooked perfectly and the other was rock hard. As for the interior, it's outdated. I understand they were going for rustic, but the green vinyl table covering was cracked and torn and so were the seats in our booth. Instead of window shades, the windows are just painted black and the paint is cracked and peeling. It was also expensive for the quality of the meal. If you go, go because you want to say you've ate at the Angry Bull, not because you are expecting a fabulous meal. read more

Had a reservation for 4 pm when they open. Didn't realize if you come soon as they open people start lining up at the door 15 minutes prior (no biggie ) seated right after check in . We had a pleasant waitress. There were 3 of us . All of our food was pretty good except my ny strip had a very poor sear(lack of color ) and very bland . I've had bland steaks in the past here but hasn't stopped me from coming. Overall service was good and I will return but maybe not for steak lol . read more

Was spending the weekend in Ohio and was looking for a great steakhouse for dinner. Found this place through Yelp and saw all the positive reviews and figured I'd give it a try. This place certainly did not disappoint! The prime rib was tender and cooked to perfection, the sides were excellent too. Service was top notch and couldn't beat the value for all I ate. In fact it was so good that I raced back before closing the next night and they were very accommodating to seat us so close to their closing time. I had the pork porterhouse which was delicious and also cooked to perfection. I couldn't be happier with this restaurant. Stopped here, not long ago for a nice dinner. First time here, but when I head and sat at the bar. The place was pretty busy, but we were served in short order. Both of us extremely enjoyed our meals with a filet mignon and I had seafood. The drinks are fantastic in the bartender was spot on. Their "famous" honey cherry butter turned out to be sickeningly sweet, made with jarred maraschino cherries. The so-called twice-baked potato was nothing more than mashed potatoes piled onto an appetizer-style potato skin, missing the promised extra cheese. Always an excellent meal! Party of 8 with reservations on a Saturday, we were seated immediately and had prompt, excellent, service with a fun personality!!!! All meals came out as ordered and we had a couple of add-ons after we were served and they were handled expeditiously! It's a little pricey but you pay for quality and it was an excellent meal. The restaurant is still '70's ambiance as it has been but that is what makes it the Angry Bull. The menu is varied and there is a two page list of specials. The restaurant itself is larger than I expected, and way noisier than I had hoped. I started with a glass of Pinot Noir, which must have been a house wine and wasn't so good. Next, I had ordered French onion soup, which was excellent. Great broth and lots of cheese. The side salad was nice, nothing special, but decent. I ordered the chicken piccata with mashed potatoes, which was my mistake when in a steakhouse. The chicken was dry and bland and hard to cut. I didn't want gravy on my potatoes, so they poured a huge puddle of butter on them. Ugh! I would highly recommend the steaks when eating here. Easy to get to, right by Sawmill Creek and Cedar Point, a real no brainer. Our table was waiting when we got there. The staff was friendly and quick. During this time bread came out...yes just basic steakhouse bread...it was hot and crunchy with a side of cherry whipped butter! Delicious. Now to the appetizers. The scallops were so fresh and seared to perfection, hands down one of the best I've ever had. We ordered dinner, had a dinner salad and were ready to be amazed. Yes, amazed! I ordered the lobster tail with asparagus, simple but with hot drawn butter it was delicious. My mother had the chicken Oscar covered in crab meat. My husband ordered the New York strip, cooked perfectly. Olathe portions were huge, hot and so fresh...my dogs loved the leftovers . It was a Saturday night and the place was packed. I am sure that the kitchen and our server did their best. Don't let the location fool you. While it may be a quiet area, this is a great restaurant. For 5:30pm on a weekday, it was absolutely bustling with people. The service was lightening fast and they handled the numerous tables with ease. We asked our server if this was normal during the weekday and she said yes. They have a huge variety of steaks and entrees, but you should definitely be getting a steak. I hadn't had a steak in a restaurant in a very long time and it absolutely hit the spot. This was my first time here it was with girlfriends on our girls trip to Put in Bay so we wanted to try this place. First we had the walleye bites for a appetizer delicious. Then I had the lamb chops they were cooked perfectly and were delicious it came with asparagus with hollandaise sauce and a house salad . My girlfriends meals one had salmon patties and mashed potatoes and loved them and one had the Delmonico steak and baked potato loved hers . Not sure how this place is booked every weekend and has good reviews. Our whole experience was lousy. We ordered drinks at the bar while waiting for our other guests to arrive. Bartender made our drinks and never came back but spent all her time with her regulars and people that were always at the bar even though we were first through the doors when they opened. We were sat at our table and our server stopped by for appetizers but tried to run off without a drink order for our guests. We ordered the seafood stuffed portobello and it had no signs or taste of any seafood in it. For entrees both myself and my friend ordered a three quarter pound prime bone-in ribeye that was on special. We were both served porterhouse steaks. Being hungry we ate since the server never came back to ask how it was. The steak was cooked right but tasted strongly of meat tenderizer. My wife ordered chicken Oscar (their menu online is not the current menu as she wanted veal). It was tasteless. One star is generous as I'm still in shock we were served the wrong steaks. You can't confuse a bone-in ribeye with a porterhouse that was sliced about half an inch thick. Even the server should know better. You don't have to be a butcher to know the difference. This place does not seem to care about you if you are not a frequent regular. I made a reservation for five---5 days ahead of time on Saturday at 5:30. This was a personally important dinner with my father of 80 years-old and his wife. We got there 15 minutes early to give the restaurant time to prepare our table--- knowing it was a busy day...thus the reservations. The Angry Bull (for some unknown reason and with complete inefficiency) operates from a hand-written legal pad notebook of reservations. And I'm certain, prioritizes regulars over those who they don't recognize who make reservations well in advanced like we did. The young blond hostess told us "Your table is being cleaned" three times in 20 minutes. While saying that to us, she seated two parties of equal or greater size who had reservations after ours. Then the young blond hostess and her older co-host tried to put an extra chair on a table for four in the bar area. When I refused to have my older parents scrunched in...she said, "Oh then you want to wait for a table." As if this was our choice. The manger then apologized to us when he found out the hostess had been holding a table for a 6:15 reservations since we walked in---in her words so she wouldn't "get messed up" by seating us. Apparently, not seating her 5:30 reservation wasn't messing anything up. While the manager was apologetic, we were not seated until after 6 and my older parents were already upset. From that point on we were treated like an inconvenience by the staff. I don't go out often, but had been planning to visit my father for dinners more often. There were 12 of us that went there for a Christmas get together. After 20 minutes of telling them we are cold we were told no heat all day and it's 19 degrees outside. All of our food was cold. 9 of us sent our food back and it came back and wasn't much warmer. The waitress was great but was totally frustrated by having to send all of the food back to the kitchen. So upset that a nice Christmas dinner turned into a disaster. No management ever came to apologize. Steaks were dry and not good. Mushrooms were very dark and so cold. Salad was good and so was the bread. Really not worth the money and so disappointed. None of us will be back! And no Christmas music! read more
