This was our fifth visit to Strip Steakhouse in Avon, and once again it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is beautiful, it's a restored old barn, which gives it such a warm and unique atmosphere. We were seated on the second floor at a more intimate table, which made the evening feel even more special. We were celebrating two birthdays, mine and my son's and it ended up being such a great night. This was our son's first time at this restaurant. To start, we ordered the Girl Power appetizer, which was a half pound of breaded scallops served with dipping sauces. It ended up being about five large scallops and they were excellent, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. The pretzel bread brought to the table was also fantastic, served with regular butter and a whipped peanut butter butter that was surprisingly delicious. For drinks, I ordered the seasonal mule, a blood orange mule that was refreshing and perfectly balanced. My younger son was excited to see mocktails on the menu and ordered the Berry Mint Refresher, which he loved. For our entrées, my husband ordered one of the steak specials, the Beverly, cooked rate with mushrooms and garlic butter. Myself and two sons all ordered the Stripper, their New York strip steak. My younger son had his cooked rare with garlic butter, while my older son and I ordered ours medium rare with garlic butter. The steaks were cooked perfectly and incredibly flavorful. For sides, we shared the garlic mashed potatoes and the Gruyère mac & cheese, both of which were fantastic and complemented the steaks perfectly. Our server, Walter, was amazing from start to finish. He walked us through the menu, checked in with us several times, and made sure everything was perfect. His service really elevated the experience. Since we were celebrating two birthdays, we were surprised with a lovely small cake brought to the table so we could celebrate both occasions. It was such a thoughtful touch. Strip Steakhouse is truly top-notch and, in my opinion, one of the best steakhouses in the Cleveland area. First time here after many recommendations. Hard to find off Detroit Rd in Avon. Sits way back in a very narrow entrance to various shops/businesses. We passed it up once and nearly missed it a second time. It's a big renovated barn, and the first floor is not very special, with a few tables and a small bar. Thankfully we ate on the second floor which was gracious and spacious. The prices are white cloth but weirdly the tables are clothless. Almost like a white/cream butcher block surface. And the barn atmosphere apparently lulls some guests into thinking jeans and T's are appropriate. I didn't care for that and wish the restaurant had a nicer dress code. Anyway, the star here is steak, and it didn't disappoint. As the specials were being rattled off (expertly by Shane who was terrific for us) it became clear that I wasn't gonna get the cut I wanted, as they hovered between 90-120 bucks. I can't believe where beef is in America right now...shameful. We settled for "Jake's Steaks" which were economical 10 oz sirloins perfectly prepared and very satisfying. Sides were big enough to share. A lobster pasta had al dente penne but the crustacean was fishier than I had hoped. Zero complaint about the luscious, rich, cheesy scalloped potatoes. A complimentary birthday cake was a classy touch for us. With a credit card dent of nearly 200 bucks, I wanted it to be 5 stars, but it came up just a sliver short. I had the goat cheese salad, and the fried goat cheese ball what's the best I've ever tasted. My friend had a filet mignon steak, and we ordered a side of the baked beans and the scalloped potatoes. Everything was delicious. Like I said, wasn't inexpensive but it was delicious. However happy hour is very reasonable, $6 Manhattans and inexpensive wine. We dined here on a Wednesday night and were surprised at how busy it was! Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were able to sit at the bar. Carl was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and attentive! The food was very delicious! We started with the tator tots, which are more like fried mashed potato balls, but had great taste! The pretzel bread and butter options were good as well. I got the filet with truffle butter and mushrooms. It had great flavor and the steak was cooked perfectly. We shared some scalloped potatoes and the chefs vegetables, both were amazing. My coworker got the big pig, and it was so juicy and had great flavor! Such a cute, trendy restaurant. I was here for a work event, so we were seated in the Clifton area. Every staff member was very professional and kind. I ordered the filet mignon and it was amazing! It was cooked as requested, tender, and flavorful. It came with mashed potatoes and steamed carrots. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Then for dessert it was a brownie with vanilla bean ice-cream. The brownie was like a very small lava cake. It was delicious. I definitely plan on going back. read more

Our experience at the restaurant was a bit mixed. When we made our reservation months ago, we specifically asked if we could resereve the Chef's Table for the experience, and we were told that we could. Hoverever, When we confirmed our reservation , we were informed that the restaurant does not reserve that table. The woman on the phone came across as having poor attitude. Upon arrival, the hostess abruptly told us that the owern's family was seated there. The other ladies at the hostess stand even looked uncomfortable. We completely understand that circumstances can change and that certain tables may not always be available. Our disappointment was not that we couldn't have the table, but rather the way the situation was handled. A simple apology for the miscommunication and a polite explanation would have gone a long way. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. Thankfully, the excellent food and outstanding service from our server helped turn the evening around. Our server knew the menu extremely well and made some great dinner suggestions. My wife and I have been to Strip Steakhouse several times now. Our experience tends to vary with each visit which is why I gave them 3 stars. Let me summarize each aspect below..... Atmosphere: They have a nice barn yard yet you can go fancy atmosphere to them. Can go there for a casual date night, family or friend gathering, or a special occasion. You certainly don't need to dress up as a suit would look out of place. Jeans and a nice casual shirt work perfect. Service: Staff is always friendly and helpful with ordering. They have several specials and I'm surprised they're able to remember all of them without hesitation. Attentive and friendly. Drinks: We've tried a variety of drinks and I can't say I've felt "wowed" by any of them that I feel the need to re-order a drink. Can easily get by with water/soda as I wouldn't say drinks are a highlight. Menu: Food options on the menu are great! Good variety of appetizers and sides. This is a steakhouse, so the main entrees are primarily steak. They have chicken, pork, and seafood options as well. A decent variety dessert menu. Food: We've tried several different appetizers including the stuffed peppers, pigs gone to the market, tater tots, French dippers and others. Some apps are excellent and some are average. We've had that same mix with the main entrees/sides as well. I've ordered several different steak cuts and I typically really enjoy them. My wife and other family members have had a few misses that didn't turn out so great. Wide variety of sides and we liked the scalloped potatoes and creamed corn. The Mac n cheese is good but overly buttery. The perogies were ok and the cabbage and noodles was very underwhelming. Desserts weren't overly special. The cakes are good but nothing that overly stands out. My main reason for marking them down is the outstanding cost of the food to the quality you're getting. One experience was perfect that every dish was very enjoyable. Otherwise, we've had a fair share of average experiences. Strip had been on our bucket list for a few years, but between missing reservations and last-minute plan changes, we never made it--until now. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the anticipation. We ordered the filet, lobster bisque, mac and cheese, BBQ Brussels sprouts, and breaded fried scallops as a starter. The service was underwhelming compared to other local restaurants in the same price range. We had to remind our server multiple times just to receive the single drink we ordered. The food was disappointing overall. The lobster bisque was extremely thin, with little to no lobster and an overwhelming amount of green onions. The steak was not cooked to the medium-rare temperature requested. We were also oddly advised not to order béarnaise sauce because it "sometimes breaks" and isn't remade, which is hard to accept at this price point--especially at a steakhouse. Sides were mediocre at best. The mac and cheese was decent, but the Brussels sprouts were simply roasted and heavily coated in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Nothing was outright terrible, but both the food and service felt very comparable to a chain steakhouse. Given the price, I would honestly choose LongHorn instead. With other restaurants in this price range consistently delivering a better experience, it's hard to justify returning. read more

Excitedly went here with some friends on 1/10. tl;dr on the experience was: Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 2.5/5 I weigh heavily on the food quality. I'm willing to look past everything for great food. The best item we had, in my opinion, were the scallops on the starter menu (Girl Power). What was most disappointing was the steak. I read on their menu that they served 21 day aged, gold-certified black angus and was practically drooling. I ordered a special which was three cuts of steak: filet, strip, and ribeye. While cooked appropriately (between rare and medium rare to allow for fats to render), there was one major problem: under-seared, under-seasoned. The steak had no crust, and every steak my table was served was completely lacking salt. I honestly don't know if it had any at all. The steaks were extremely tender, and while I always like my steak to be the star of the show (no sauces, no spices--pepper at most), the lack of maillard reaction and salt killed it for me. It's unforgivable at this price point, and definitely not worthy of the title: "best steakhouse in cleveland". The saving grace for the scoring on the steak was the fact that the meat is indeed high quality-- just a failure on execution. I likely won't be back. If you want a few places that I think are better, check out Steak CLE for consistently great, perfectly seasoned and seared steaks, or Crumb and Spigot (not steak-centered, but their steaks are typically cooked great). For the other foods: S/O ordered the lobster mac and cheese-- very tasty and generously portioned. Lots of shredded lobster on top, and the sauce was wonderfully gooey. My buddy ordered an Australian wagyu tomahawk (close to $200). See above-- Not appropriately seasoned, but a bit better on the sear. The steak fries that came with it were actually a mixture of dark, dark brown and black. I couldn't believe how burnt they were. They didn't touch them and were reluctant to take them home. Again, I don't know how the kitchen looked at that and thought it was acceptable to send out. My fries were okay. Not golden brown-- leaning darker and closer to burnt, but still edible. For the rest: Server: Our server was great-- knowledgeable of the menu, attentive, and prompt. Ambiance: I loved the inside-- rustic, but modern. The atmosphere wasn't snobbish in the slightest. You could show up in a suit or dressed down and not feel out of place. read more

Everything was AMAZING!! My boyfriend and I sat in the bar area and got happy hour. The drinks were fantastic and the appetizers were delicious! We got the spinach and artichoke dip! We were able to order dinner in the bar area from their main dinner menu. The steak was fabulous, the lobster bisque was to die for, and the lobster Mac and cheese was out of this world! The service from the bartenders was excellent! They were so knowledgeable, so friendly, and so quick! They cooled my steak to perfection medium. The flavor was to die for. The stuffed potato was huge and our waitress was simply amazing. We came here to celebrate a very special occasion. Upon arrival, the hostess handed us a card to congratulate us. We found it to be a really sweet gesture. We had reservation so we got seated right away upon check-in. Our table was situated upstairs. When I called to make a reservation, the hostess did ask if I was ok going up a flight of stairs, which I was ok with. However, I didn't like how we got seated in a little corner with a very small table (for 2) meanwhile there are emptied tables left (for 4). Mind you, we dined at 8pm so there wasn't anyone else waiting in the lobby. Keep in mind, there's no restroom upstairs. It's a barn house converted into a steakhouse. While I like the idea, I found the decors to be outdated and clashed. The red lights and tree branches seem out of place. The food was amazing! We got the mussels as an appetizer and it was just ok. The broth was salty, maybe it's from the Italian sausage. In a way, the broth reminds me of the zuppa tuscana soup from OG. We got the mango madness and striptini. I preferred the mango madness. The striptini was lacking in flavor (some sweetness and sour to balance it). The complimentary pretzels were soft and good. We ordered the dinner for 2, and it was a lot of food for the price. Our dinner came with a house salad or soup of the day (upcharge for lobster bisque soup and other salad beside house and caesar). There's an upcharge for 12 oz filet and lobster tails. We stuck with the 6 oz and found it was ample of food as the sides are very generous portion. I really liked the jambalaya. I will pass on the brussel sprouts next time as it was quite burnt (I know it's fried) and greasy. The star of the night are the 6 oz filets and lobster bisque. The soup arrived to the table hot. You can taste chunks of lobster meat, and it was a good chunk of it. It's a great deal to upgrade your soup of the day to lobster bique. Kudos to the chef! The filets were cooked perfectly. The bourbon cream sauce was flavorful and I'd choose that over the bernaise sauce. We finished with the cream brulee. I wish there was more custard than the caramelized sugar. Our server was Katie. She was knowledgeable and attentive. The manager even stopped by to greet and checked on us. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. read more

Hubby and I came here tonight for his birthday dinner. We don't typically go to steakhouse because I personally always feel like they are just over priced. We have family that come here and recommended it. We made a reservation arrived about 10 minutes early and got seated right away. We were sitting upstairs, our serve was Mike, he was fabulous! He gave a thorough explanation of the menu and specials, made wine recommendations and was very helpful with answering any question's. We ordered the See yah later appetizer which was delicious! I love gator and it's hard to find in our area. We split a Cesar salad which was also good, we each order the cowboy steak cooked medium rare. I did the garlic sea-salt rub and garlic butter, hubby ordered the peppercorn crust with truffle butter. As our side we ordered the scalloped potatoes. Everything was melt in your mouth delicious! This was my fifth dining experience at Strip and it is one of my top five restaurants in Cleveland. Unfortunately this was my least pleasant experience mainly due to very slow food service. The server was great but our main meal took 45 to 50 minutes to come out after receiving an appetizer. The other low point of this experience was undercooked filet. We ordered medium and both steaks came out medium rare. For such an expensive piece of meat they should be cooked right the first time. The pigs in the market appetizer was phenomenal. I highly suggest this app for a mix of sweet, salty and spicy. The pierogies were actually surprisingly very good. We were told a Polish lady makes these for the restaurant. Strip may be the best steakhouse in Cleveland. Every time we go here we get the most amazing service and food. The portions are enormous so I don't recommend getting too many sides but everything is so good. One of my favorite things about Strip is that it doesn't feel snooty and you can wear a nice pair of jeans and not feel out of place here, but you can dress up if you want! Overall I would recommend Strip to anyone. It is on the pricier end, but it is worth the price tag. read more
