My bumper was fixed, painted, and buffed but it was done very unprofessional and lazily. The bumper and fender was left with buffing streaks all over to which they responded to just wipe with a rag. They didn't bother to cover the rest of the truck when painting, and I was left with paint splatters all over my windshield, doors, and hood. When I called they said to run it through a car wash, but it didn't work. When I took it back they told me they couldn't do anything and to take it to a detailer. They stated that they didn't do detailing services there and I asked how they buffed the bumper and fender when fixed and left it with streaks in the first place if they didn't detail, but they didn't have an answer. The whole staff was very rude after I received my car. Seems like they just wanted to milk the insurance for as much money they could and be done with it, but didn't care about customer satisfaction. Don't recommend this place.

When I asked if I could get an estimate, I was told that it cannot be done because she is too busy and is in a middle of something, and she has next appointment at 11AM (it is 10:10AM Thursday, not one single other customer around, empty parking lot). Then she says that I have to make an appointment for sometimes next week! You got to be kidding. Customer service at its "best". And she is acting like she was doing me a favor by even talking to me. I went to different body shop which I used few years back located in St Charles. Day and Night experience. Busy place humming with activity. I got an estimate within 15 minutes and planning to set up an appt for doing the repairs soon. If you are looking for even a minimal level of customer service, business where they treat you as a customer, not nuisance, then Gerber Collision in South Elgin is definitely not the place you should even consider. There are many other good, family owned (not franchise or corporate owned) body shops around which will value your business.

Selena and Maria were both so friendly and made the entire process really simple- from getting the initial quote to dropping my car off and getting the rental car to keeping me updated on my car's repair status to the final pickup. I really appreciated how communicative Selena was with the twice-weekly updates on the status of my car. I also greatly appreciated how easy the rental car process was. They took care of everything through the rental car company for me, and the rental car company picked me up promptly after I dropped my car off. That whole process was really seamless.
