I ended up buying one in the mid price range because of the options explained to me. Another boon it the life-long tune-up service with any sale. I was looking for a new mountain bike and settled on three brands: Specialized, Santa Cruz, and Rocky Mountain Bikes. The latter one is not carried by any bike shop in Savannah as far as I know, so it came to the former two. And I wanted very much to see the bike and ride the bike, I didn't want to have something ordered in sight-unseen. Alas, these days, like many types of retailers bike shops carry less in-store inventory and in Savannah there seems little demand for higher-end bikes. That said, I called up Quality Bikes and asked what in my price range and meeting my demands they might have in stock and they had two Santa Cruz models that interested me. A friend and I drove out, I looked at and test rode the bikes, and decided on the Santa Cruz Chameleon-Carbon. Awesome, awesome, bike! Issac, the salesman who helped me, despite still being in high school really knows mountain bikes and has a winning way about him. Great attitude and very helpful, no pressure and very honest. Indeed, everyone at the shop was awesome, but especially Issac. I bought the Chameleon and they tuned it up and got it ready for me--clearly no hurry, they knew they had the sale already but they took appropriate time to do everything perfectly. I would earnestly recommend this store to anyone needing a bike, especially a higher-end one and especially a mountain bike. We came here Friday afternoon, and were very pleased to find that our experience lived up to our expectations. We were greeted right when we walked in, and team members made themselves available to answer all our questions and help us check out. We were hoping to sell a bike of ours, but the owner was honest about having a full inventory already of the type of bike we had. My dad and I went to go get him a bike today...dude was not rude but you can tell that he did not want to help us. No one else was in the store took him a while to help us out, then he leaves to go laugh with an employee. I was expecting him to be more friendly and ask what was our price range what kind of bike we wanted. Like actually try to make a sale. He starts to tell us that financially it would be to much to change the handle bars onto the bike my dad wanted. Like saying it wouldn't be affordable lol. I like supporting local business, but I can't go back there. Being in sales you can't think certain people are broke or choose who to give great customer service. Terrible customer service skills. Went today, waited outside, social distancing, and this red headed kid comes to me and asks me what I needed. I tell him and he looks at me and says, " Sorry, can't help you." No other explanations. I had to call the store manager and only then did I get an explanation. Moral of the story-If you are tall and over thirty you won't be helped. read more

I'm cycling from Georgia to California and have been to four bike shops in Savannah, Quality being the last. I find this shop to be as good as it gets. I need to true my rims on the road, I've got over 3,000 miles to learn how to do it without a truing stand. The young man gave a little advice, showed me around the store and was just a fount of information. This shop is a good as it gets. The other shops I visited, one was actually detrimental to my bike, the man installed toe clips backwards with the buckle facing into my pedal stem and by the time I got home, a 40 mile ride, it had worn a gouge into it. I went to Quality Bike and asked for the most expensive bike they sold, and was advised by the owner, Mike, to buy an introduction bike at a fraction of the cost. He said to ride it for a couple of years and if I really liked road biking we could upgrade. But He said so many people start with enthusiasm and then lose interest. 13 years later I am on bike #3. Awesome store, great service, vast selection, what more can you ask for? I went in for bike repairs (after having my bike assembled by them a few years ago) and left it there for a tune up. They said it would take a week but I got a call within 2 days, so I was very happy with that. The staff is great and they can tackle any problem thrown at them. You can even call them any time and ask questions and they will patiently answer them and walk you through the steps to fix the problem. read more

I have to say this bike shop is a surprise. It looks like a small place from the outside but when you walk in you are delightfully greeted with a large selection of quality bikes of all kinds. I went there to see if they could repair a tire for my friends bike. The staff was very helpful, friendly and funny. Not only did they fix the tire, but they replaced it with a better quality and very inexpensively. Now I am a big guy and I don't have a bike for that reason. I asked the young man if they had a bike that would work for a "stocky" boy. Instead of trying to sell me a bike that costs thousands of dollars, he showed me the absolute perfect bike for me and it is only a couple of hundred bucks. If I buy a shirt and a pair of pants in my size I can spend that much. I highly recommend this place if you are a serious racer, rider or just an average biker, you will find what you need. They have apparel, GPS, power drinks, accessories and some really cool bikes. They also have awesome customer service. I will be heading back to get my new bike this weekend. read more

Purchased a bike on 5/2. We were not sure if it was a good fit but sales person assured full refund if returned with little use. Son only rode a few times but bike was too big. I love it, it works great for my needs- I'm a student so I ride my bike around to get to class...and everywhere else.
