If you don't want microscopic swirls and blemishes in your paint then a hand car wash is the only way to go. Rotating brushes, over time, will leave imperfections that are visible in bright sunlight. In western Essex County there are only a couple of hand washes and this is the best of the lot. They do a decent job, both for interior and exterior, and the price reflects the extra manpower needed for a hand wash, which is fine by me. What irks me is that when I paid for express spray wax (applied after the wash, outside) they failed to do the roof of my pickup truck. Twice. Likewise, they do the driver's and passenger's inside windows and the dash/windshield, but they never spray and clean the inside back windows, which I would argue are far more important since that's often the source of glare and reflections when you're driving at night. I'm going to bring these problems to the management's attention as well. While both these problems are serious, the overall job is better than most other car washes in the area. Horrible experience. One of the attendants had mask pulled down. I politely asked him as he approached me to pull it up and he eventually did but not till he told me how masks are bs. The cleaning inside the car was poor. They do not vacuum or clean the back of an SUV so it was still a mess but I didn't notice till I got home. Ya know, I've been disappointed by this place in the past but it's close so i went again. Paid almost $40 for the "lava wash" purposely because they cleaned the floor mats and i spilled juice on mine and needed them cleaned. Got into my car when it was done and they hadn't touched the mats they still had dirt and juice on them. So i went inside and told them and they did them after the girl told me "oh you have tj tell them." Why would i tell them when it's in the description? Anyway. Got home to realize they didn't vacuum any of the seats, the cup holders were still filthy and so was the shifter leather boot thing. Last time i went i paid $80 for some presidential wash that i was conned into and they did the same thing the car was still dirty. They claim to vacuum and clean the whole car but they don't. I just had my brand new car washed and it came out filthy still... it was unbelievable they would have let it go that way. I pulled around and had it rewashed. Before putting it through the second time, I walked around the car with an employee and looked at each dirty spot and mark to make sure they took care of it all and so I and they had an intimate familiarity with the state of the car. The car came out the other side with paint chips that were NOT there just minutes before. I spoke to the manager and he simply refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. I feel helpless to do anything about it. The manager is a straight up criminal. For the most part everyone there was pleasant and kind - the guy at the front of the line seemed a little moody and disinterested...the folks at the end of the line in particular were definitely hustling, working hard!! Sure, I didn't pay for a complete detailing, however I did pay for the highest level of service otherwise, and was definitely left disappointed. There was still a lot of pollen/dust in my interior on areas where it shouldn't have been hard to clean. The ArmorAll was spotty at best on my dashboard and other surfaces. I'm not sure I got the interior scent/spray or the RainX that was supposed to be included (again, the guy who took my 'order' didn't seem very focused). We just finished getting our car washed here and paid for the platinum service. What a rip off! They didn't even want to vacuum the inside (our car is normally very tidy, so it's not like it would have taken more than a second). We had to tell them to wipe down the inside and clean the windows. I should have listened to the other reviews. Listen, I didn't expect a detailing for the 16.95, but what the heck. I had to go home and re clean the inside of my car. They left popcorn and candy wrappers in my back seat, and it looked like they didn't even vacuum around the floor mats. Get my car washed every 1-2 weeks and this used to be the only place I would go. Prices are ok but I always left with a perfectly cleaned car. On top of that the owner and staff are extremely friendly and polite. Past few times I been there I noticed little things each time totally avoided (screens not even being wiped off, cup holders not touched, back windows not wiped, etc) but I always just blew it off and thought maybe it was just a bad day. Took my dog to park yesterday and my back seats had muddy paw prints all over them, which I normally just wipe down with water on a napkin so I know it comes right off. After spending 20$ for a wash and an additional 20$ on other things, I got in my car and my back seat was completely untouched. I'm really picky about the quality of a wash and am the type that will not leave any car wash without pointing things out and even grabbing a towel and finishing my car off myself. I visited this car wash when I was in the area a couple of years ago. I was very impressed with the quality and detail they put into it. I don't live in the area but make it a point to visit the area once a week after work (secaucus) so that my jeep looks impeccable for the weekend! They do a good job of making sure my roof and wells are clean also. I grew up washing my own car and of course no wash will ever compare to washing with a hose and sponge in your driveway but this place comes pretty damn close!!! STAY AWAY! Owner has a major anger problem. Pulled in the other day to a car pulling out in the entrance lane. I gestured to my wife "what is this guy doing in the wrong lane," and he pulled up to me, opened the window and asked me in a nasty tone, "Is something aggravating you SIR?" I responded comically: "Yeah, lots of things but it doesn't concern you, have a great day!" and we drove off, into the line at the car wash. I remarked to my wife, "what's wrong with that guy?!" I guess he saw me gesture inside my car as I entered. Note that I did not gesture at him or his car. When I got to the front to pay, I noticed the car waiting at the exit and asked the counter girl, "Is that the owner's car?" She responded in the affirmative and in (granted) one my lesser moments I said to her, "He's a real tough guy I guess," sarcastically. Well, when we got outside, while waiting for my car, the guy comes rushing around the corner and starts yelling about how he's the owner and how dare I talk to him that way and I don't know who I'm dealing with blah blah blah.. I tell him have a nice day, and he physically blocks me several times while I try to walk away and diffuse. He told his workers not to finish my car (thankfully they didn't listen). This situation came VERY close to the owner ending up getting arrested for assault. Think twice about patronizing this place and dealing with such a hot-head. PS. Gave this place a shot since I was in the area and in need of a wash. First thing that threw me off Is that there is a menu available to choose from, but then a guy calls you over to this stand and tries to up-sell you. He just pointed at the options below to add more money to my existing wash. Why not just publish the damn list so people can choose. Not try to hit them up for more money. Second negative is when I was called over to get the car, even after It was swarmed by the wipe-down crew, I saw that the whole 3rd row was not cleaned at all. They didn't even vacuum behind the 3rd row seats. I have a minivan and they could have at least made an effort with the final row. Thank you but trying new places is a risk. Went there at opening to get a true hand wash for my car which has tires too wide to go through the drive through machine. In the past, I've been charged 20$ for this service. Today, the owner/manager refused to provide it. I offered to pay more. No dice. Explanation: it's inconvenient/he's too busy/not offering this service anymore. Said he hasn't done so in a year even though I had it done there last month. It was 8am and there were no more than 3 cars being washed in the drive through. Guys were standing around. I've been getting my cars washed there for years. Told him if he refused to wash my car I would not return, ever. He didn't care. Clearly, Quality has no interest in customer service.
