Honestly we were a little nervous as compared with the other companies we interviewed, the process just seemed too easy that it was almost too good to be true. Several other companies wanted us to procure the slab and sinks ourselves, and they described an installation process that would take well over a week. I was not impressed with Sciarrino Marble. They installed backsplash in my kitchen. After choosing to go with Sciarrino Marble, Peter informed me that my kitchen install will take one day. They said they would show up at 8 am on Wed, they didn't show up until 830 am but then needed to get materials from Home Depot so they didn't start work until 9 am. Everything seemed to be going well but I could tell they would not finish in one day. At 5 pm, they stated that they would need another day and wanted to come back on Thursday (only half the kitchen had been tiled so far). I said that is fine, but the following day (Friday) we are leaving on a trip, and they won't be able to get into my place, so they needed to finish the work on Thursday. I was told they would finish all the work on Thursday. I had to work on Thursday, so my partner staid home to let the workers in. The workers said they would arrive at 9 am but didn't show up until 1015 am. I received a text update from Peter at 1130 am that they would finish all the kitchen and be done by 2 pm. At 210 pm, I received another text update from Peter that the work would take longer than 2 pm. I arrived home after work at 430 pm to find them still working on the kitchen. I asked how long it would take and they informed me another hour. At 650 pm Peter texted me that his workers should be done in 20 min and wanted to come get the last payment from me (I had to pay half the cost up front). I said fine, assuming the workers would be done. Peter showed up at 715 pm and asked for his check. I asked him how much longer his workers would still be working, and he informed me they would be done soon. OK. I was dumb and gave him the check and he abruptly left before his workers were done. At 830 pm his workers finally cleaned up and left. I use the term "cleaned up" loosely, they seemed to be so rushed at the end that they didn't have time to clean very well and left dust and little plastic pieces everywhere. Not to mention grout little globs of grout on my new countertops, so I had to go through and clean the countertops before the grout dried on them. I am not satisfied with the work. One side of the kitchen is well done, the side they worked on the first day. The other side of the kitchen was done on the second day and the work looks rushed and sloppy. Both the workers and Peter were very nice, but I paid good money to have this work done, I even went with a higher bidding company to hope for better results. I ended up going behind them and scraping grout off my new cabinets and new countertops. I also found a large scratch in my cabinets that had grout all over it and my new flooring has a large scratch through it where they dragged my stove to tile behind it. I spent two hours cleaning that night until I was so exhausted, I went to bed. I woke up the next morning very upset about how the whole situation played out and then I cleaned for an additional two hours. I don't think this should have been the outcome, maybe it was my fault for not giving them a third day, but when you are quoted as only needing one day to do the installation, I don't think it is entirely my fault. Review update 7/25/23 Peter reached out to me after I left a review and he stated he wanted to fix the issues with my backsplash. I agreed as all I wanted was my backsplash to be done well. His crew came back and removed the grout and fixed the issues with the grout between the tiles. I am changing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars for coming and fixing their work. They did a nice job fixing the grout and now my backsplash looks much better. I believe the real issue is that they did not budget enough time for my project and they ended up rushing to finish the job. read more

We were in the middle of a bathroom addition project and the marble fabricator used by our GC couldn't mill the back splash thickness down from the 3cm slab to 2cm back splashes. We reached out to Sciarrino Marble, and they had the equipment and expertise to handle the more complex aspect. Prior to paying the deposit in early June, I requested a specific brand and product in writing, as well as a price. I elected to work with Pete based on his price quote and his claim to have that specific quartz. A day before installation, a different brand, style, and vastly different price of quartz was delivered to my home. Pete insisted that he had delivered the correct quartz, but that my sample just looked different. He requested that I visit both H Cabinets and Rainbow Stone USA to verify. Neither had a quartz product similar to what I had ordered. Once Pete admitted to ordering and dropping off the incorrect materials, he tried to convince me to let him install them anyway. After significant back and forth, Pete agreed to pick up the incorrect countertops, but rather than finding the correct quartz himself, he asked me to call and visit various showrooms around San Diego looking for it. Once I had found the product, he ordered it and we set a new installation date. Mid-installation, Pete showed up to the house and asked me to pay the difference in the cost of materials, even though the new amount exceeded the original price we had agreed upon. I split the difference with him. During the installation, I noticed that his installer had not cut the back of the pre-fabs down to fit my cabinets, leaving a huge overhang. Again, my contractor and I had to negotiate with Pete to have the countertops trimmed down to fit the cabinets. Once trimmed, they were an inch too short on one side. Because the countertops were too short, I had to have the upper kitchen cabinets moved to minimize the gap between the countertop and wall. The movement of the upper cabinets caused the upper corner cabinet to no longer fit, requiring that my contractor build floating shelves to fill that void. This resulted in hundreds of dollars and several days lost. Two months later, Pete refunded half of the extra costs I incurred. read more
