Texted my coworker: "Just left my dentist's office - had an oral irrigation procedure done, man, it felt like I just had a treatment Best Management Practice (BMP) device installed into my mouth, lol..." Side note: If you had ever worked on a stormwater project and/or/with Landscape Architecture, you'll get the inside joke. After 15 years since my last dentist appointment, I finally got courage to make an appointment to see a dentist again. Also, because my Endocrinologist kept bugging me make an appointment to see one to ensure that my sugars were not affecting my teeth. Yes, I know, I'm waaaaaay overdue to see one, but hey, in between those times, I've kept my teeth in pretty good shape. The best part of living in San Gabriel, especially, along San Gabriel Boulevard, there's a bunch of dentists to choose from. After narrowing down the dentists that fall within my HMO plan, I turned to my trusty Yelp to help narrow down the selection even further. The overall winner: Dr. Lingli Wang of Quality Dentist Group, yay!!! Parking: Residential street parking My first appointment with Dr. Wang was back in February 2020 for teeth cleaning and checkup. Dr. Wang is friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. She'll give you the option of speaking in English, Cantonese or Mandarin. She'll then do a quick consult with you on your teeth history and will get down to business afterwards. Her technician did my teeth x-rays and was efficient with it. Dr. Wang was impressed that my teeth were in good condition for not seeing a dentist for so long. She then started on my teeth cleaning/checkup. Dr. Wang's touch is gentle and comfortable. In the end, she did find one cavity and recommended an oral irrigation procedure. Her front desk staff did a quick estimate and showed me what I was being charged for work done on my one tooth. Afterwards, I agreed with the pricing and procedure. The oral irrigation procedure uses a stream of pressurized, pulsating water to clean between my tooth and below the gum line to remove the plaque and periodontal pocket bacteria, flushing it out to be removed. By doing this, it helps prevent gum disease and gingivitis. Once Dr. Wang was done, her last instructions to me were to spit in a cup for the next 30 minutes and do not rinse out the treatment inside. The next day, I received a follow up text asking how my teeth felt and everything was peachy keen. Her office is clean and relaxing. Making an appointment was super easy. You'll get a reminder text the day before and a follow up text to see how you're doing post visit. When you're due for your next visit, you'll also get a text as well. I've been a client here for several years, always with Dr.Wong. There will be several cavities that need to be filled in my every visit. And always the same teeth. At first, I thought it was caused by my poor cleaning, until I went back to Japan to see a dentist half year after I finished my last filling with dr. Wang My Japanese dentist said that you had eight cavities (basically in the same place where I just finished the filling). He then drilled and found that the dirt had not been cleaned up at all before the filling, there were shallow black spots on the surface of the teeth under the resin but drill to find that it has been rotten very deep, no wonder I have a few cavities are always rotten! Other than that, Dr. Wong filled my teeth very fast every time, basically finished seven or eight cavities in half an hour. I always thought this was a normal procedure for filling a tooth until the Japanese dentist gave me a different experience and I realized how careless Dr.Wang was. My experience here was exceptional. The staff is very friendly and I felt that Dr. Wang genuinely cares for her patients and wants the best outcome for them. She is very informative, detailed, gentle, and careful with her work. I came in for a regular check up after not visiting a dentist for over a year , she told me what was wrong in great detail and advised me on the best steps to take to keep/maintain my teeth healthy. I've had around 6-7 different dentists in my lifetime and Dr. Wang by far is the best. She always makes sure to ask if you're ok and I felt minimal discomfort when she was cleaning my teeth. I found Quality Dental Group through Yelp reviews and read great ones. My mom who's a senior with many tooth issues, and always worried about pain. She is really happy that I found Dr Wang in Quality Dental Group. Dr Wang number one priority is to save the tooth if she can, unfortunately my mom's wasn't the case. Her tooth was too cracked and was told very difficult to extract due to broken pieces, Dr Wang did an excellent job extracting that tooth, and my mom felt no pain before and after the extraction. Dr. Wang is very friendly, communicates well, and explain the teeth situation and solution patiently to her patients, and provides honest pricing. The office is very clean. Scheduling is always with no wait when arrival. Also thanks to the front desk assistant named "C" who gave excellent service and care to the patient, and easy to communicate with. Not the right place to go. Before I went there, I called them to check if my insurance gonna cover my visit. The front desk said yes. Then they tried to charge my visit fee and x-ray. I told the lady that I called before they said the insurance was covered everything. She said, okay i can waived that visit fee for you, but u still need to pay the x-ray. I was like"what??!!??" So the truth is they can but they don't want do it??!This is ridiculous. They also wanna persuade me to do filling too. I know my insurance could cover that, but they still wanted to charge me for 100 each. They are not professional either. I tried to get my wisdom teeth removed. I did the x-ray before, the other dentist said i need a oral surgeon. Only specialty could do that. I told the lady that I did talk with other dentist before. I just wanna check the price. I hate going to the dentist, but this place is amazing! It has a very nice and friendly service with a modern set-up which makes me feel really comfortable. The technology in the dental are also really up to date so you know you are in good hands. The best thing about this place is the dentist Dr. Wong. She really cares about her patients and would always chat and try to get know her patients on a personal level. I know many dental offices gets packed and you need to wait a long time just to see the Dr, but this place is a nice and small with little to no wait at all, so it really saves me when I am on a busy schedule. Maybe cuz it's a new place so not a lot of people know about it. But i hope this place never gets pack! Please don't pick this dentist for you have HMO insurance. When I call for appointment they always say no availability and needs to come a month later. I found out this scam and I call again later and the front desk they have appointment in the following weeks when I say I pay CASH. Because with hmo, the dentist receives ur insurance company a lum sum money no matter u hv ur service done or not. So I arrived my appointment and then I revealed my insurance. They have me waited for an hour and told me all appointment is full. I said I can wait she said the wait is an hr. I said I will go to lunch and Come back. The front desk now say we are all full and we can book you next time.???!!!! So they hv me waited for an hr and now they said appointment is full ! When a minute earlier they say could wait an hr WOW! The receptionist makes the excuse saying it takes time to search for my insurance at the office. But when I called through phone they can look up my insurance under 5 mins. The receptionist then give me a "Tsh" noise and I told her how dare you have the attitude to your customer. My boyfriend went here for a root canal procedure for a pretty decent price. Staff was nice and professional. A few months later the same tooth hurt again. He went back there and explained how the same tooth hurt. They retook xrays and was told he would have to pay again to have it checked out. He ended up leaving because that was ridiculous. Now another dentist says they shouldn't have taken his case in the first place. He should have been referred to a specialist. This is a 4.5 star review. I definitely would recommend this place for check up and cleaning. Read on to see why, skip if that's all you need. I have been searching for a dentist for regular cleaning for quite some time now; think I've finally found the right place. If my last dentist was Hell (Las tunas family dental, who tried to sell me deep cleaning and REFUSED to do regular cleaning), then this place is Heaven. I waited maybe 30 mins? As a new patient this is highly acceptable. Besides, they have leather chairs in the waiting area! I've never waited more comfortably. Anyhow, I was greeted promptly by the receptionist and was led inside after about 30 mins. Dr. Wang came in very shortly, checked my teeth, recommended to fix a couple of chipped fillings, then went on with the cleaning after I gave the consent to cleaning only, which I imagine is what most of us want. She was very careful and thorough with the cleaning, there was no pain at all. Job well done. Long story short, I would say this dentist is an honest one. I was not sold deep cleaning when I didn't need it, and I was not pressured to fix my fillings using composites ($$).. I wasn't even asked to take unnecessary x rays (you know how other places take like 10 of them to claim insurance money.), i had to ask them to take one so I can see my chipped filling. This is how I know this place is ethical, at least for the typical cleaning/check up part. When I first got on Medi-Cal (Denti-Cal), I showed the card to my dentist, and they showed me the door. I starting searching for a dentist who would take my insurance. The number of good dentists I could find in these Yelp reviews, who also accepted Medi-Cal, were few and far between. I despaired of finding a good dentist that would take Medi-Cal until I read Dr. Lingli Wang's reviews here on Yelp. I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought for sure that all the Medi-Cal patients would be making a b-line to her office, and I wouldn't even be able to get in to see her. Surely, a dentist this good and caring would be all booked up, since there didn't seem to be much choice elsewhere. Yesterday marks my third year and checkup/cleaning with Dr. Wang. I've also had a couple of cavities filled. She has become one of my favorite dentists ever - caring, competent, and friendly. And she is someone who I trust not to hurt me, or charge me for something I don't need. It's true that Medi-Cal doesn't cover everything, but having at least some coverage (checkups and cavities), and a dentist this good and honest has been a real blessing for me. When I first started reading these Yelp reviews three years ago, looking for a replacement dentist, some of the negative criticism seemed really off-topic to me. Not enough parking in their parking lot. No cellphone reception in their waiting room - stuff like that. If you are as nervous as I am about having someone working in your mouth, then you will see this type of criticism for what it is, and give Dr. Wang a try. Her office may not be fancy, but you will be treated well and honestly, given the best dental care, and leave her office with a smile. Dr. Wang is the best dentist I've ever encountered with. She's kind and friendly and yet very patient and detail with her work. She took the time to explain my condition and did all the dental work herself on me, unlike a lot of other dental facilities that would use assistants to perform the preliminary work. I am the type of person who seldom write reviews. It's either really good or really bad that would trigger me to write a review. I first came to this dentist office based on the total stars they got in yelp. Unfortunately, they disappointed me. I have Cigna HMO, dentists really don't get much from the insurance. Agree with some of the yelp reviewers mentioned, they find ways to gain profit. They charged me $50 for stain removal the first time I went to the office for basic cleaning. Dr Wang told me that it's not included in basic cleaning and it's an additional charge. At first, I thought it's a special treatment to remove my stain from drinking tea & coffee. At the end, I found that it's what should have been included in the cleaning. All my previous dentists have done the same procedure in basic cleaning. With that unpleasant experience, I still chose to give them a 2nd chance. I had swelling gum a few weeks ago and I came back to Dr Wang. After x-ray, she couldn't find anything wrong with my tooth. For the swelling, she suggested an injection and deep cleaning of that tooth and charge me $110. $ 110 is not a big amount, however, I would like to seek for a 2nd opinion because of the previous experience. I went out of the door without any treatment. I found out from another dentist that it's just viral infection. I decided to switch my dentist, simply because I don't feel comfortable with this dentist and that I don't have a peace of mind. I don't think the dentist and her staffs care about the patients. They are money driven. I requested a copy of my x-ray picture cuz I don't want to retake it in my new dentist office. They charge me for $10. They didn't cooperate without me paying a fee. They tried to throw me with some agreements and laws. I am confident that it's a patient's right to have a copy of x-ray pictures. I called my insurance company and they confirmed with me that the dentist offices are not allowed to charge a patient for any copies of their medical histories. With the assistance of my instance company, they finally have to provide me with an x-ray copy. However, they provided me a thumbnail picture of the x-ray which is a 12 k digital file. They claimed that's the only file they have and it was clear in TV or monitor cuz TV & computer monitor has higher resolutions. What a joke! I honestly do not recommend this dentist. I'd rather pay out of my pocket to find a more reliable and responsible dentist who really cares about his or her patients. read more

I really recommend this Place !!! I had my Invisalign there. The dentist there is very nice, patient, professional and trusted. There are kind of 30 pairs of Invisalign designed for my dental treatment. And I am very appreciated that dentist Wang ask the Invisalign company to resend some of my previously wearied Invisalign without any extra payment when she spot a little problem with my 10th-15th pairs of Invisalign. She will discuss my case with the Invisalign company again to have a perfect treatment solution, which can be seen she is very responsible. Also, I my friend had her dental treatment there. Place is absolutely stunning, currently a long term patient there, one of the fewest place I actually don't hate going, being that i am usually a hater. Anyway, Dr.wang is bilingual, and assistants are all bilingual, no matter if you speak canto, mando, or English, you will not feel isolated there. You will always get a courtesy reminder call the day before your appointment, so they will make sure you gets your regular check up and enough protection for your teeth. they accept all insurance, never have to worry if your HMO or PPO not being accepted. anyway, this place will get you in and out with the best treatment. five star!!! read more
