Not my typical place to stay. Only stayed here because it was close to the tournament event center. This is very much a motel. It was very seedy and desperately needed updating. The room was clean but the gigantic white refrigerator stuck out like a sore thumb. My husband opened it and was slapped in the face with a foul stench. Tub had left over hair on the tub walls, and the beds were almost like full size and not queens. We only stayed one night, I don't think I would stay here again. read more

This "non smoking room" smelled like someone chain smoked here every day. The beds were on metal platform springs that constantly twanged, creaked & squeaked at the slightest movement. Tap in the bathroom chugged & groaned. Toilet/shower floor area grouting was old & crumbly. Mold spots in the grout around the tub. Floor is so dirty that you have to keep wiping your feet off before you get into bed or stuff winds up in bed with you. Telephone in the room was non functional, so we had to call the front desk via our cells to get someone to come fix the tv. AVOID!!! read more

room appeared clean until I looked out the window , which I could only see out 1 sude the other was so bad and the window sill is covered in mold. Also the tile or lack there of had filth on both sides. Suppose to be non smoking but the whole way smells like a pot factory. Staff is aware because they were working near the location. I wish I had time to find some where else tonight but I don't. I'm scared because I have a compromised immune system and I dread to se how I feel tomorrow. read more

Pros- comfortable bed. Not bad breakfast. Cons-BUGS, dirty, old decrepit It's good as a no tell motel and should offer an hourly rate. I should have picked holiday inn express which has NEVER disappointed me at $160, BUT I just drove 9 hours and the $75 tempted me. This place is horrible. Front desk staff is very unprofessional and rude. When attempting to reach out to the owner, the response I received was questionable at best and racist at worst. I'm retired military and was stationed in this area for over half my career and it still amazes me. Since I only needed a couple hours rest when traveling from Florida to Maryland, I decided sleeping in my truck at a rest area was better than here. read more

The room was supposed to be non smoking and it smelled like a carton of cigarettes. The air vents were clogged with either mold, dust or something else. Absolutely disgusting and a serious health concern. The room phone didn't work. The door looks like it was kicked in . The hinges were loose and the door did not lock when leaving the room. This is a huge safety concern. I called the front desk from my personal phone and they said they couldn't do anything. This whole stay was horrible and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying elsewhere. Disgusting! I paid, and went to my room, it was so dirty! Disgusting! I demanded my money back and went elsewhere!

Spend the extra $25 to go somewhere else. Tub needs to be resurfaced (cracked, peeling & looks unclean). Wall paint is sticky in the places it isn't peeling off - and the bed is as soft as the floor would be if you haphazardly chucked a blanket over it. Air mattresses are preferred. Heck, a futon would be plush compared to these beds. TV didn't work in the room whatsoever - turned on but wouldn't find signal. Light by the door is blown. Smells stagnant & moldy/mildewy. Staff was friendly & accommodating, but they don't give them much to work with. Was too tired by the time we checked in, so too late to move elsewhere, but seriously for $95 on a night when there were MAX 10 cars in the parking lot is really ballsy for what they offer. 10/10 do NOT recommend. read more

The parking lot is well lighted. We ended up at this property because the sister property was booked up. The front desk person gave us a room key and said your room is over there. We drove around to find it. The outside stairs are in need of repair. However doors were open and weed was waffling in the air. The unit next to us had Spanish speaking guests that began screaming at 4am. Traveling with children it was not a place I would return too. It served its purpose to give us time to rest before heading out on our journey but definitely get what you pay for. read more

The air conditioner did not work properly and we woke up to ants in the bed with us. When I called to complain I was told that the ants were there because we brought food into the room. The ants were no where near the food. There was no hot water which we were told prior to check in. This was a horrible experience. Don't go there. We stayed at this hotel (Quality Inn, Rky Mt) to attend a wedding in Rocky Mount. The hotel, itself is in a decent location and looked to be fairly well taken care of. There was nothing particularly impressive about this hotel. But, there was nothing particularly unimpressive about it, either. We were looking for something relatively inexpensive and didn't expect a 4 star hotel. The room was comfortable enough. So, for the price, I had no complaints. I read a review that suggested the breakfast in the lobby was pretty decent. I wasn't impressed. To me, it just looked like another high-carb, guess-the-ingredients, cheap to offer junk food breakfast. No worse that the others in similar class hotels. But, I did notice a somewhat discouraging Sanitation Rating on the wall, behind a promotional banner. The little breakfast area had a B rating of 85.5. Really? How hard can it be to keep the food prep and dining area clean for a simple little hotel lobby breakfast? Bottom line, if you're looking for an inexpensive room for the night and you don't expect much besides carbohydrates and fatty sausage for breakfast, the room, at least was clean and comfortable. read more

Three stories, elevator, exterior entrances on floors 1 and 2, interior entrance on floor 3. This property was originally a Fairfield Inn, when it promoted itself as an economy hotel. Rooms are not spacious. My room had a king bed, chair w ottoman, and desk, which definitely filled the room. Wifi worked well, as did the heat, which someone had left full blast and took several hours to get the small room comfortable. TV was HD but had an very slow start, difficult to change channels, and an image what wasn't 100% sharp. Bed was comfortable, and the price is budget friendly. read more

OMG stay somewhere else . Dirty, very unhelpful staff, a empty box was on elevator all evening and next morning still. They close vending in lobby at night, and force you to walk all the way around the building 'unsafe" to enter in a non secure "back" door "to no cameras" vending, however a door from this room is open to the lobby , so wtf is lobby closed? What would stop someone from entering unsecure no cameras back door, and going into lobby w unprotected staff. Positive thing was I needed a toothbrush they gave me a new one. We travel with pets so this Choice hotel chain ranks at the top of our list... and in the past we have had pretty good luck here with adequate rooms for the price (and low pet fee), very clean linen, sheets, and comfortable beds.... well this all fell apart here at our stay in Rocky Mount, NC We requested a cot for my son but there was no way this was going to fit in this extra small room without some serious fire hazard so we returned this (they did not charge me).. The rugs were very worn down, wallpaper needing replacement, lighting was minimal, tv was from the 80s, bleach stains on the bedspread (as well as hair), the AC barely kept the room cool. The real horror came in the morning... our dear son found small spiders crawling across the bed sheets... and my wife found a big creapy crawling centipede on the ceiling... Breakfast was considered above average for this type of chain until a cock roach fell into my daughters yogurt!!! Positives... the internet was good... and yes... I got in a good hot shower to wash away the creepiness... also our checkout was in RECORD time so we could be on the road sooner... also there is a Krispie Kreme down the street... Also reminds me to check Yelp and other sites before trusting the "name brand" read more

Entire room was disgusting from top to bottom. Ceiling had water damage, bathroom ceiling had mold, even the floors and bed sheets felt moist to the touch. I always check mattresses for bed bugs and their mattress had stains, hair, dead gnats, what looked to be shedded skin (insect).... I was gagging at this point. We picked this Hotel unseen while traveling to Pa. I waited in car while husband went inside to register so we did not see the whole property until we drove around to our room. It was dark, had I seen the cracked pillars holding the upper floor of rooms we surly would have left and not stayed. Our room was not the absolute worst we have stayed in but it was close. Absolutely disgusting, the first room had blood stains on the sheets looked like someone had a visit from aunt flow, yes the sheets not the mattress, also there were what looked like drool stains all over the pillow cases. It was clear the house keeper didn't change the linens between guests. The floor was filthy not vacuumed. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because they switched us to s handicapped room on the 1st floor. Then they charged our carded twice. Will not be staying again or recommending it to anyone. Oh they only have 1 waffle maker for the whole hotel so if you want a waffle you'll be waiting. read more

We stayed here on our way up from Florida for a quick nights rest. For the price, the room was good and breakfast was great, but there were some small flaws such as chipping paint on the walls and the desk chair being old and worn down. Also, when we entered the room it was incredibly cold and it took about 5 mins to get it back to a comfortable temperature. But overall, it was a good stop over hotel for the price. read more

Stayed there in early June - one night and woke up with about 15 bites. They were on my neck, ear, hands and arms. New experience, never seen bed bugs before and never been bitten by any. The bites are pretty awful and disfiguring. This hotel was recommended by another business in town that was unaware this problem could happen. I showed the evidence to the staff and they promptly refunded my money. Two weeks later, the owner calls and says he apologizes, references the fact that he gave me a complimentary room and what else can he do? He says they "don't raise bed bugs" there, that someone else brought them in. (Not sure that's relevant). I explain that they still haven't healed and he starts talking about the lawyers that he has. MY daughter and I stayed here last minute from our drive from N.Y. while the hotel itself is dated they make the best of it. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. We did not see the pool. The staff is also very nice. Last night upon our arrival Dawn was working the desk. Great customer service and welcoming. And the women this morning who was taking care of the breakfast was also friendly and made sure breakfast was stocked even until 930 am when breakfast is closing down as we were late comers. I've been here a few times because it's a convenient location for where I'm headed when I'm in Rocky Mount, NC, but since my last stay? I'm not coming back. The staff at the front desk lacked personality, or semblance of customer service, I frankly knew that they could have cared less if I had walked out or not. I had one special request, and I called 3 times in 3 weeks to guarantee they understood my request, and when I got there they looked at me like I had two heads and my request was completely ignored. The rooms are small and smell because of the strong toilet bowl cleansers. They provide breakfast every morning, which is convenient and nice, but the coffee is beyond disgusting. I don't know what the h*ll that is, but is cloudy and gross. It's cheap and that will continue to sell rooms but I intend to spend my money elsewhere where the employees seem happy to have you there and the company has pride in it's employees and the facility. read more

Went here as a tiny get away for my anniversary. I was suppossed to stay the weekend and check-out Sunday. Not so, this was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. First of all there was jumping and screaming and doors slamming all night till well after 3 am. At about 7am something woke me from my sleep to find a centipede crawling on the bed. Needless to say I jumped up and woke my husband so we could leave. Then the cable goes out. As I'm walking out the door there was another bug. So very disgusting. Then I go to the front desk only to be told they can't issue a refund for the night I am not staying I have to go through booking.com since I booked with them. I tell her no my card was swiped here. So I call booking.com and they inform me they get no money the hotel has to refund. I go back in to tell her and she's like well our systems are down so when they come back up I will call you.
