Ive been getting massaged as part of my wellness routine consistently (every 3-5 weeks) for the last ~10 years. I'm always nervous to try a new person as I've had some incite more pain than you walked in with. I also had a weird experience where John spent over half the time rubbing above my neck eyebrows ear lobes - I've had many massages to this is first where anyone spent so much time rubbing these areas. As weird as this sounds I would been more comfortable with my lower back buttock or hip being touched because those areas hold the most tension and it's what you come to expect when you go in for a massage. I put my target areas as neck and lower back and they were totally skipped over to spend an incredible amount of time in very weird places. He went from above neck to knees and below with touching next to nothing in-between that point which is more than half the body going untouched. And no there was no hidden magic relief in the actual areas of need from rubbing these other places. It's not any technique I've ever seen or heard of. By the reviews you think this is best place in RI to go so I was honestly really puzzled. Are the reviews fake? Why was my massage so different from everyone else's? Why was he ok and able to apply needed pressure to others but touched me like a feather? Why was he ok touching other peoples necks backs with similar issues but not my own but didn't say anything about possibly having some undiagnosed injury to explain the skipping of half my body? Is he uncomfortable massaging women - well according to the reviews not so much he's massaged deep knots from the necks and backs of women too. The only commonality which idk what to make of is that both of us who got lots of ear lobe tlc share the same body type so I'm not sure if he just uncomfortable massaging a particular body type which if that's the case just refuse service make up some excuse don't take the money and then give someone a head massage that is expecting a back massage because you have some kind of hang up about touching certain parts of a women. And I'm not sure if it's he's afraid of an accusation or injuring a particular body type or if on a worse level has a thing for the ear lobes of a particular body type after seeing Rebecca's post. Quite the opposite! John knows his stuff, and his passion for his work shows in the quality of his massage. I purchased an Amazon Local deal for a couple's massage here many months ago. The scheduler is entirely online and a bit clunky to use. The times were somewhat limited and it took us awhile to find a time that worked. And then, when the massage was only a few days away, I got a call saying that they'd have to cancel. Wicked bummer. That was back in October. This would have been perfectly understandable if it happened only once, but it actually happened a second time. Neither time did we really receive any sort of effective customer service. Both times we were told to just go back to the site and schedule another one. I was hoping they'd open up additional times or work with us (I even asked) but it wasn't really an option. By our third scheduling of an appointment, people were teasing us, wondering if it'd actually happen. I was half expecting another call. But sure enough, I got a text confirmation and we showed up on time. The location itself is very easy to find, land part of a wellness center of sorts typical of many massage places. The feel of an office with mingling scents and dim lighting. The sound of water trickled from some far off corner. Artificial? A hidden mystical fountain? Who knows. It was competing with some R&B sexy beats that were smooth as glass. The two masseuses were waiting at the door for us when we arrived. We were admittedly a bit late. They were very friendly and courteous, albeit a bit rushed. Once we all settled in, the massages were actually very good. They have many different options for scented lotions. The music playlist set a romantic mood that was a bit outdated, but hey, decently enjoyable. All in all, $69 for a regularly $129 couples massage is a really good deal and it was pretty good Quality, for the Massage, that I got when it was Now. In all seriousness, this was well worth it, but I have to admit that I've had a better massage elsewhere. But that was out of state, so maybe this is the best around! read more

My only gripe is I like oil and he uses lotion. He has several fragrances of lotion to choose from as well. I usually get cold with lotion but he heated it up for me, he might have made me believe in lotion again! The pressure was very consistent and John identified problem areas that I was not even aware needed work until he touched them. It was a true 1 hour massage. Although I can't say anything about the quality of the massages given by John, I CAN say that the customer service I experienced from him was awful! I will definitely never go back. A couple of months ago, I purchased a Groupon for a 60-minute couples massage as an anniversary present for my boyfriend. I scheduled an appointment online, we filled out the forms, and I even exchanged emails with John to confirm that we were all set for our appointment. We planned our whole day around this massage, which we were very excited about, but when we arrived he kept us waiting for quite a long time. After 20 minutes had gone by, I finally knocked on the door and called down to him, but he said that he was in the middle of a session...even though we were supposed to be having OUR massage right then! He came up the stairs to talk to us, and I showed him the email confirming our appointment, but he just sputtered that he didn't understand what had happened and didn't have anybody around to give us a massage. With barely an apology and no offer to reschedule or give us a free session (or something!) for our trouble, he sent us packing. We'd been looking forward to this all month, so just having to leave was very disappointing. Hopefully I'll be able to get my money back from Groupon. John is very skilled at what he does. However, his behavior toward me and my husband was rude and unprofessional. My husband and I had a problem with a payment. Rather than contact us to resolve it, he waited several weeks and then left a rude message on our voice mail. Once we realized we had made an error, I called him to resolve it. Unfortunately, he refused to speak to me and hung up on me. His behavior would be understandable if we were new clients, but this was at least our third visit. I am what you might call a massage veteran. For the past five years I've been getting massages regularly, and in the last three I've been going monthly or bimonthly depending on my pain level. I deal with chronic pain issues stemming from a neurological disorder and from a funky spine. Whenever I go somewhere new, the first thing I'm scoping out is massage places and I'm PICKY. From beginning to end, I can't say enough about this experience. 1. Ability to book online - Hello convenience!! You can book your appointment, fill out your consultation form and get your confirmation without ever talking to anyone on the phone. 2. Ability to book last minute - I've been lazy in the past couple of months about maintenance and the pain was really getting in the way of functioning. I looked online 8/26 and he had several appointments available next day, 3. The office! While the office is not the Ritz Carlton, I actually think its spacious, and inviting. Really good energy! 4. The massage!!! John was friendly and pleasant when I arrived and allowed me to pick from a bunch of scented and unscented lotions. He asked me several questions about what was bothering me, and even asked me if there were any areas I would like him to avoid. I felt like he was setting me up for a great service. And he totally was! I have probably had 25+ therapists work on me in the past five years and he definitely ranks in my trusted handful. He was incredibly thorough, informative, and I truly felt like he was taking the time to give me a service that i needed rather than one that was simple and easy for him to give. 5. The price! - John is a shining example of bang for your buck. His price seems to reflect the idea that pain relief should be affordable for all but in no way does that hinder the quality of the service. After my 90 minute session I feel like a new person. When I drove out of the parking lot, I could move my neck enough to drive properly for the first time in at least 3 months. I am so pleased with my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. I find it surprising that anyone found John rude or unprofessional, because there was actually a mix up with my appointment (I booked for 930, John thought I had booked for 9) and he was nothing but polite about it, even when he thought it was my mistake. If he finds a "problem spot," he'll treat the area until he feels he got it, even if it means going past the session end time.
