Today it was some older gentleman and he was just straight up rude. Called over the phone he said it would be 69 total came out to 80 because they charge the certificate separate. NEVER AGAIN! I've taken my car and my wife's car here every time for the past 6 years. Even after I moved away from the city, I came here out of convenience and habit. The price has always been around $50. They've always been polite. NOT THIS LAST TIME (and that's all it takes) The technician seemed busy, so I took it upon myself to begin filling out the paperwork, but before I could press pen to paper, the technician abruptly snatched the clipboard out of my hand and condescendingly commanded that I don't know the price and should not have assumed I would like the price. Shocked by his annoyed demeanor, I stood silently, not sure how to respond. He broke the silence by quoting me a price of $60, $10 more than I've ever paid. When I told him that I felt as though he was screwing with me, he simply walked away. All it takes is one bad experience. They've lost my business for good. It's of no consequence to the technician, as he has told me in the past that he gets paid hourly, but I hope the owner will be able to explain to the technician that word of mouth is sometimes the best advertisement and he has lost the owner business because of his negative attitude and condescending behavior. read more

Would have given a higher rating but ... when I took my car in to get it smoged, the technician put it on his machine then told me he couldn't pass it because the some of the monitors in the car's computer were "not ready." He asked me if I had replaced the battery or if it had it lost its charge. I say that it had lost it charge some time ago because it had not been driven much because of the pandemic. When I was able to "cycle" the readiness monitors by driving it at certain speeds and for specific periods of time according to the car maker's website, I was able to take it back and got it to pass the inspection. I asked the technician if this situation was common because of people not driving much during the pandemic. He admitted that it was as he was changing me an extra $20 to re-test it. Hum..... I could be wrong, but I feel that he should have asked about the battery before hooking it up his machine the first time, especially because of the covid shut down. On the plus side, this station is convenient and usually not as busy as others. However, you can find cheaper test stations. Tips: call ahead for prices and possible wait times. And if you have access to a code scanner, make sure all your car's monitors are ready to be tested before taking it in. read more

He didn't even take my car into the bay. He ran some wire to my car and once he did my car would not start. When I finally got the car started, it failed. Apparently there were a lot of electronic problems. I immediately took my car to the dealer. Because of the electrical problems, the dealer had to reset all of the error codes created. It cost me $143.00 at the dealer. The dealer was of the opinion that whatever the wire was that this guy ran to my car was the cause of the electrical problems. I've been using this place for years with the same young man helping me. I have always been satisfied. Today, it was a different guy named Vage. Not only is he super knowledgeable, but he was fast, efficient and truly helpful. I was able to get two family cars done at a very reasonable price in a short amount of time. He kept the place clean too. (When I got there, he was mopping the floor.) Don't come here! This guy is so rude! I tried to explain that my husband took my car in last week and it didn't pass, and we took it to the shop and it should be ok now. He asked me for the fail paperwork and when I said I didn't have it he yelled at me and said he would have to recharge me. I called my husband to get clarification and he rolled his eyes and walked away. I explained to him that he did not test it and the code reader said it wouldn't pass so he didn't charge him. Then he yelled at me again and said "you're not making sense! You said it passed and I tested it then I didn't test it!" I felt really uncomfortable as he took my keys and code read my car. I've gone to this station several times in the last many years. Yesterday as I dropped my car off at an adjoining shop my mom was waiting for me in her car. The employee from this smog check station told my mom to move her car that she couldn't park there. She said she wasn't parking, she'd move if anyone enters the driveway, she was watching and I'd be right out. He started moving around erratically yelling and calling my 78 year old mother a bit@h. Then when we went back later to pick up my car from the mechanic he started up again even though we weren't within 30 feet of his mechanics bay. He was yelling and screaming and calling her names, called me a fag. This guys a clear danger to the public. He's a menace to society. He should NOT be working with people in any capacity until he gets the help he needs. He actually approached my car in a threatening manor, I had to flash my pepper spray to get him to back off. I should have called the cops and had him arrested. Everyone in the complex was witness to the entire incident. Do NOT go there unless you want to be in danger. This guys absolutely crazy. This post serves as a warning and notice. If anyone's injured as a result of this nut job, contact me, I'll be witness for the criminal and civil suite. Take note, the owner of the smog check station has now been put on VERY public notice, if someones harmed as a result of him continuing to employee this clearly disturbed individual with anger management problems, the OWNER of the smog check station can and should be held liable for any and all damages including pain and suffering and punitive damages because he KNOWINGLY employed an unstable individual. read more

This was a great smog station! Being that I am a woman, the i felt that the young man there was very polite and very respectful. He explained to me everything that he was doing to my car as well as why my car passed. The location is sort of hidden but it is right behind the Jack in the Box, it is the last garage. 12-8-2014 i went here today at 3:30 for my smog check, they were recommended by my mechanic in Northridge. The man was eating his lunch and completly ignored me when I went up to his space. I said excuse me are you Arman he said rudely NO and continued eating. So I went next door and asked for Arman and they didn't know him, so I went back again and he completly ignored me once again. I said, I need a smog check and was recommended to this place. He said can't you see I'm eating? I said is your lunch more important than a customer? He said "yes you fuckin whore" Then he proceeded to call me a fukin whore 3 or 4 more times as I called him on his language,I assumed he was either drunk or high. I am shocked this place has a five star review. So I went a few blocks east and found N&J STAR CERTIFIED and was treated with the respect a customer deserves.
