I've used Joe at Quality Tree Care several times to trim the many trees on my property, and I won't go to anyone else. These guys do an excellent job from step 1 all the way to completion. Joe is a really knowledgeable guy who cares about doing the job right. He's honest and, as a certified arborist, he gives good recommendations that focus on the trees and the customer, not just what will make him the most money. I've even texted him pictures of the trees to find out if they're sick, or need nutrients or whatever and he's always been good about replying with valued advice. The crew he sends to do the jobs always know what they're doing and work quickly & efficiently. I've had them trim a giant Chinese Elm, a large oak, and several other trees. When they're done, they always clean up my yard and it looks as good or, this last time, better than before they arrived. I had broken limbs from a wind storm a few weeks ago and after they finished their trimming job, not only did they clean up their mess, but they cleaned up the branches that had already been on the ground from the wind. They also make a point of cleaning up any branches or leaves that have fallen in our neighbors yards while they're trimming. Like I said, I wouldn't think of calling anyone else. I recently contacted Quality Tree Care to have a tree in my front yard cleaned up (it hadn't had much attention in 5 years) and some smaller neighboring trees trimmed off of my property. I called, they came out and gave me a quote a week later. I accidentally stood them up for this appointment but Danny was kind enough to chat with me on the phone while he inspected my trees. Quality Tree Service came over on Tuesday and trimmed my oak tree. I was expecting that they would come with a crane to to the trimming but no, as they had 2 workers climb up the tree using ropes strapped around their body as each worker took up a gas chain saw and an extended long pruner/cutter. They did reduce the price by $100 as I wrote them a check instead of using a credit card. I will say that Quality Tree Service's price was approximately $1,000 less than other bids that I received. read more

If I could of given more stars I would have!! I have talked with several other tree services in the area and Quality Tree Care has, by far, been the best. I contacted them on a Sunday evening (because that's when I was up researching) and received a text right away. Danny showed up the next day and quickly surveyed the tree I needed help with. He gave me a quote immediately & could do the work the next day. I was thrilled!! He even gave me a coupon discount I knew nothing about. BUT...what impressed me beyond belief was the voicemail I received after the job was completed. The fellows who were cutting down the tree found a nest with baby birds in it. They carefully removed the piece of the tree with the nest, placed that piece up on a stump and even took the time to create a roof type structure over the nest with some bark from the tree. My heart was sad that I'd removed the home of a family of birds but when I got home & saw how they had treated it with such respect & kindness, my heart warmed a bit. Today Joe and I tried to remember how many years Quality Tree Care has cared for our 3 hilly acres. We started with simple weed removal. After an ok experience with a "highly" recommended arborist I turned to Joe. Recently, after one round of storms I returned home to a cypress blocking our steep driveway. I bushwhacked my way through and called Joe. Within the hour he had a crew clearing my driveway, in the pouring rain, as night fell. The cypress damaged my neighbors' oak and when they asked it removed he did so with no additional charge. He has alerted me to trees that were in precarious positions and his excellent crews just removed a seriously leaning 80-100' pine. Joe is fair in pricing, his crew is considerate, and I concur with the exemplary clean up ethic mentioned in another review. What homeowner hasn't had the experience of returning to find lunch trash casually discarded? I hate that. It won't happen with Joe and Quality Tree Care. This company was pretty great to work with. They scheduled a free estimate with me quickly and the gentleman who came out (Danny) was very lovely and knowledgeable. He helped me save a lot of money over other quotes I'd received. Someone was in touch with me via email later that day with the official estimate which I approved easily and electronically. And pretty quickly, they called to schedule my appointment. I loved that speed! The only downside of the entire process was the men who came out to actually do the work. First, let me say how punctual they were! They were supposed to come at 8am and were parking in front of my house at 7:55am. Most vendors I've worked with arrive 15+ minutes late, so I really appreciated their attention to that detail. They were very nice, but looked to me to advise them on what needed to be done. I'm not an arborist and I assumed Danny's notes would be shared with these guys. I told them the basics of what I was looking for, but suggested they call the office for better guidance - which is what they ended up doing. This part of the interaction just felt very confusing and made me wonder if I made the right choice afterall. That being said, the guys were lightning fast. I was quoted 90 minutes and they were in and out within 50 minutes. Everything is clean and they checked with me that I liked how it all looked before they left my home. They did an OK job on the tree's but his guys where to busy looking at my wife to remember to clean up all the branches. Called several times to get them back out(made the mistake of believing they would so I paid them before they did) ended up doing it my self. They where also suppose to leave the cut pieces for firewood. They forgot have let several messages and even got a return call from Joe promising to bring me the firewood. Still nothing more then 6 months later. Will not recommend to anybody. I highly recommend Joe and his Quality Tree Care company for tree removal, tree trimming, and tree care. Joe of Quality Tree Care has worked with the trees on our 1/2 acre lot 3 times over the last 8 years. I didn't know Yelp back with the first 2 times. His work over these times (and this particular time) has included removing deadwood and shaping a 50' ash tree, removal of 60'+ pine trees that were aging and had signs of beetles (and were close to a new fence and surrounded by young fruit trees), removal of a monstrous eucalyptus that was dangerously close to the house, shaping and thinning of fruit trees to improve next year fruit bearing. In the coming month, he will install a number of different trees to replace some of what we just removed. Joe's work teams have always been careful, clean, and courteous. By clean, I mean they remove all cuttings, debris, their own garbage. By careful I mean both of safety and of my property like other trees, fences, walls of the house and such. He and they have kept great contact with me so I always know when a job starts and how the job is going. Joe's pricing has always been at the lower end if not the lowest. He has welcomed changes during the job when I've asked to add more trees -- which means he's had to squeeze things into the schedule. Joe has always given advice on trees that I trust and that has stood up to my internet research. He is knowledgeable about tree health and future tree health and growth for tree installations. I really like the suggestions he's made for the trees we're going to have him plant and has shown me pictures of trees at other job sights or directed me to local adult trees so that I can get a good idea of shape, overall look, and size. Another testament to his workers loyalty, the foreman on the job just finished last week remembers the first job we had done. 8 years ago, in addition to the removal and shaping of some trees, we had Joe's crew cut out a taller-than-human patch of poison oak. Many of Joe's team stick with him for a very long time and speak highly of him. Watching his team work together, they work extremely well together. I hear whistles when someone up in a tree is dropping or lowering by rope a limb. They respond to each other with the smallest barks/shouts/whistles. Not to say that they're playing, but the seem to enjoy working together and care about each other's safety. Oh, almost forgot, Joe has also delivered truckloads of wood chips to me 3 times. I'm having my lawn overhauled and the landscaper suggested that I get my trees taken care of before we started the lawn project. I called three different places to have someone come out and give me an estimate. One didn't answer the phone, the second one made an appointment with me the following week, and the third was Joe. He not only answered the phone himself but said he'd stop by later that same day. Joe was on time for his estimate and as we walked around my yard he listened to what I wanted and gave me suggestions for each tree. He told me that he had an opening in his scheduled the very next day and the day after if I was interested in getting the work done ASAP. He gave me a quote which was a bit higher than I had budgeted for, but I told him that I'd discuss it with my husband and get back to him. After speaking to my husband, we decided that we didn't want to go over budget. Joe called that evening after not hearing from me and said that if I wanted the work done in the next few days that he was willing to come down on the price a little bit. Done deal. Joe and his crew showed up the following day and removed a tree and trimmed the rest just like he said. After coming home I noticed that one of the trees were missed. I called Joe to let him know and when his crew came back the next day to grind the stump from the tree removal, they took care of the last tree. We have a few ~300 year old oaks in our yard and the largest one lost two very very large branches, it was likely our fault as we were a bit overdue for a trim. The branches that fell were enormous and flattened a few chairs but all else was ok. A friend gave us a quote for someone who he said was inexpensive to remove the branches and two suggestions for arborists including Quality. First I had the cheaper person come over to give a quote on removal and he admitted he was not an arborist but said the tree was diseased and we should remove it, I was shocked the tree had a lot of new growth, a ton of green leaves/acorns and looked perfect healthy, it had not even occurred to us we would need to remove it. Then he eyed another one of our Oaks and said we should cut that one down too it looked diseased. Joe came by a few hours later, said both trees were perfectly healthy and immediately gave me a quote for removal of the branches and some heavy trimming. It was not cheap but worth it to keep a 300++ year old tree. He also did it almost immediately - the day after our quote, he said he was booked 3 weeks out but left some spots for emergencies. I have other tree work we need to do and will call on them again, I know I am getting quality work.
