Our thermostat was following it's normal schedule to cool the bedroom down at night, but it ran for about 2 hours and the temp stayed the same. For the first time while living in this house, I slept with an outside door open. When I woke up this morning, I did a quick Yelp search for AC service in my neighborhood. Quan Air was the the highest rated and all the reviews pointed out their professionalism. I emailed from the website, then called. I know that's a lot for 7:30 am, but it's humid in SATX and I couldn't stand feeling awful for another night or two. Amber called me back a few minutes later and managed to get us on the schedule today. Andy showed up about 20 minutes earlier than the window, but I'm fine with it because it's 82° with 72% humidity at 11 am. Andy pointed out some maintenance things, this is my first air conditioner. It was helpful to learn all the things to do that will save us money and keep our AC running. He also replaced a motor, rinsed our AC vents, and checked the condensation pans in the attic. When I saw the hugely positive reviews I was intrigued yet just slightly skeptical. No longer...Quan Air is the real deal! A/C went out the night before, called at 10am the next morning and was scheduled for a noon-1pm show up window. Ryan was at the door hands straight up, and Covid super safe. He listened patiently because I can make a short story long --and understood where we were at with this situation, unit lifecycle, future plans to upgrade, and all. Ryan got right to work troubleshooting the system. He quickly identified the issue as I described it. No problem whatsoever taking the time to explain things in response to my numerous questions. Completed the necessary work at the handler carefully, thoroughly, and very cleanly. Went outside and Ryan showed me, at my request, how much life left in the capacitors. Incredible service experience from scheduling to completion. Everyone we spoke with was responsive and courteous. We had a dryer venting problem. One day later, the issue is completely resolved. Called and scheduled an estimate, they were an hour late which isn't a huge deal but they didn't call to communicate this. Both technicians were nice but they didn't explain anything or say what the estimate would include, just that it would be in the email that day. I still hadn't received and estimate the next day so I called and spoke to woman on the phone who was asking me the techs names who came out, I didn't know. Then she looked it up by my info and said she would look it over and send it to me. I still never received the estimate so obviously went with someone else, but altogether was a huge waste of time. read more

They quoted me $85 for a troubleshooting visit. I had installed a DIY air conditioning system which wasn't quite working. As it was a very busy day, they didn't reach us til about 8 at night. They didn't try to overcharge due to the time. Not only that, they diagnosed the problem and fixed it and didn't try to invent some other issue so as to charge more. Had a minor emergency at the hacienda - the downstairs A/C unit went out sometime this afternoon. I quickly jumped on Yelp and requested some price quotes and Quan Air Quality and Value AC was one of the company's that responded. Something moved me to check them out. Maybe it was their very high Yelp review average. Maybe it was a very high Google Review Average - whatever it was - I couldn't be happier. The "problem" started yesterday morning. My wife noticed that the drain had some water leaking from it outside. So after a trip to the attic, she noticed the drain pan had some water in it. Thinking the lines needed to be cleaned, she poured some bleach down the drain and got most of the water out of the pan. Someone, and I am not saying who, tripped some float in the pan which caused the a/c unit to shut off (I'm told it's a safety feature). Not knowing what caused the A/C unit to stop working and not have any power to the thermostat caused some concern. So I reached out to Quan and I couldn't be happier. They listened to our story/timeline of events, went to the attack and within 2-3 minutes, they figured out it was the float in the drain pan. Wow! That was fast and easy! Since they were already at the house, we decided to have the drain lines blown out - just to make sure we don't have any of these issues this summer. Oh - here is another BONUS about these guys: I got in contact with Quan around 3:50 ~ 4:00 pm today and was told that they could fit me in sometime between 5pm ~ 7pm. Well guess what? They showed up at 6pm ON THE DOT! Amazing! This company was quick to respond online, quick to make the appointment and quicker to arrive (on time). And the best part is that they listened, diagnosed, and didn't try to upcharge anything. So if you aren't sure about these guys - don't be. Ryan and Andy are the best. Andy did my servicing in 2017 and Ryan was out at my house a year ago to repair a 20-year-old system and had me up and running in less than 2 hrs. He came out a few days ago (the system needs replacing now) and remembered me and everything about the prior year's visit. I would not trust anyone else with my A/C! Update: During the 3-day window between scheduling A/C replacement and installation (delay was on my end as I needed to arrange time off work), I had time to go to other sites and read several reviews of the unit Ryan had recommended. All reviews of the Trane unit were positive except for one comment stating that the unit made "more noise than expected" when cycling on and off. I mentioned this to Ryan as I am an incredibly light sleeper. Ryan took the time to program the unit to go off and on a couple of times so I could hear what it sounds like while I went to several different rooms to listen. I could barely hear it. After several nights sleeping in the room right next to the unit, I can report that I don't hear it at all. Not. One. Tiny. Bit. As for comfort, you really can't beat this system. It cools and dehumidifies, keeping me quite comfortable even though I keep the setting higher than most. Ryan ran his crew like clockwork and they did a fantastic job all around! read more

They showed up within a couple of hours and gave an estimate and had a whole new system in the next day. They worked non-stop so that we did not have to suffer with heat. Been having issues with AC from Airtron for a number of years, small things that we're keeping these techs coming back from refrigerant leaks to dirty coils, and all of which on a new system on a new construction home. 5 years in we tried someone new after we got ice on the outside unit. Airtron tech comes by and quotes us $1200 to fix a "bad TXV valve" that was under warranty. So, I send him on his way and started the dreaded competitive quote treadmill. If you are reading this, you are likely in the same boat as I was. So, I jump on Yelp and get the quoting engine working for me, and thanks to the site, I got 5 replies within 15 minutes more trickling in later. This was my experience. I called Champion Air, 2 weeks out; Texas Air Repair, no call back after 3 attempts; BCA Beyer Boys, $1300 quote charging $75lb for R-410a (!?); Premier Comfort, got a quote going and date set but the admin started adding trip fees, telling me they need to charge for multiple visits if they don't bring the right stuff out and everything the day of the site visit then SHE canceled on me, awesome, nogo there; Jon Wayne 3 days out, then i got a number of companies basically saying the same thing - "We need to test the system, $89 for a trip then quote you then". I can't pay everyone to look at the AC unit... then, there was Darren Quan from QuanAir. First off the guy was one of the first folks to send a reply, quotes me to the penny, $586.88. The guy was the only one who actually priced out what I asked. He then followed up immediately with all the questions I had via email. Called his company and set up an appointment. SAME DAY - 5-7PM & get this, SHOWED UP. I know, crazy expectations. The tech, Jason. This guy was on point. Educated me in everything he was doing. Showed me everything with pictures and video. Equipment was digital, I could see the readings of everything going on. He educated me on what everything meant then here's the kicker... says it's not a TXV issue, outside unit just needs to be cleaned. This is the SAME unit I have been paying for YEARS Airtron to do the $30 maint package on each month and not once did they actually take a hose to it. After feeling like an idiot, he also helped clean out some drainage and showed me how to maintain, man, i could keep going. This is the GOLD 'EFFING STANDARD. God bless Quan his family and his company. If he can keep it up the A++ work, his companies future is bright. Seriously, save yourself the headache I went through sitting in an 85-degree house for 4 days calling all these yahoos... call Darrel, you won't regret and ask for Jason - fantastic! $162 dollar trip with no extras. Fabulous response and service. Fixed a leak that a competitor could not find, sealed up the return air plenum when the competitor left it cooling my attic after coil replacement, and showed genuine interest in teaching me to do things that save money long term. Will absolutely recommend and will call them again when we need their help. Ask for Andy Quan. Definitely knows his stuff! Oh, and Quan charged $35/lb for coolant when competitor charged me $115/lb last year. Basically I learned that competitor was very dishonest. read more
