I could not believe how they took whatever vegetables and God knows what else to "SCULPT the usual Chines food orders so as to 'look like' normal Chines cuisine! They came up with painted morsels, and sculptured textures to trick people into believing the food was real! Moreover, everything that I ordered tasted EXACTLY the same! Quan's Kitchen has now become my favorite Chinese takeout spot (sorry Pan Asia!). I was a little put off by their combination plates, as they specify that they come with Roasted Pork Fried Rice and a designated appetizer. However, they are more than happy to subsitute either or both if you ask. The prices are a little higher and the portions are a little smaller than other places, but the overall quality makes it worth it. I typically get delivery -- they are prompt (especially coming from Weymouth to Braintree) and very courteous. read more

Used to be the go to place because quality wasn't bad but overtime the big chunks of white meat for general tso/gaus chicken became more dough than chicken. I really only want to downgrade to 2 1/2 stars. Reason for the downgrade... after several orders over time, we have experienced shortages, and delays. We ordered several large trays for a party. Everything was fresh, well cooked, and delicious. The vegetable plate was crisp and cooked perfectly, not soggy or watery. The chicken fingers were crisp and the Lo mein and rice were really fresh. There was more than enough for fifty people and extremely affordable. Normally I don't enjoy Chinese food but every now and then I crave it. The food is very tasty and not greasy. The meal is always easy to order and is hot when delivered. I also love that they give bread with their meals. For some reason, this is a huge plus for me! read more

Loyal customer for the last 4 years. Very friendly staff. Good sushi for a take out place. Ive noticed the quality slipping a bit. Chicken dishes used to have chunks now it is thin strips which have been chewey. Not sure what they did to the hot and sour soup but it is not as good as it once was. 1st time going there. Will be the last. Just moved into the neighborhood and stopped by to pick up a menu. Ordered last night and asked to make the three main dishes large house fried rice, large house chow mein and a large shrimp lo mein )a little spicy, also ordered large chicken wings and a large order of crabmeat rangoon. The chicken wings were ok and the crab rangoon my wife loved, but either they do not understand "a little" or this is how they eat their food. It was super spicy. I like spicy, but this was ridiculous. My wife ended up throwing her food up and I had half a plate before I had enough. One thing that MAY have helped out with the overly spicy food was some duck sauce, but there was none, not a packet nor small container was to be found. There was one small container of mustard, but didn't think that would help much. Do you have to ask for duck sauce now a days? Also I am used to getting dry noodles with my chow mein, there was none, but there was this spaghetti type of noodle in a small container, I had no idea what that was for. So I go back there today and I tell the girl about how spicy the food was and that we could not eat it. She remembered me. I asked her for a credit because the food was overly spicy not just a little like I ordered, she calls her manager and is talking Chinese to her. She then says can you talk to my manager, I get on the phone and she speaks English, so both understand and speak English but is talking on the phone in a language I don't understand. Totally rude. The manager offers me a 20% discount next time I order, I said no we, could not eat the food as I ordered it and I want a full credit for the three dishes, well she refused and asked to speak to the girl, once again Chinese. She gets off the phone and says she is going to put a 20% discount on my phone number. Told her to forget it as I will not be coming back. I have been in North Weymouth now for about 2 years and really miss the Chinese food that I remember from back home. I looked online through Yelp and found Quan's Kitchen with a 3 and half star rating overall, and had some good comments. Well I called up on a Saturday and ordered dinner via delivery. First sign of a bad experience was when they were late with the delivery. That was the good part , because the food was absolutely revolting. The General Gaus "Chicken" was a disgusting fibrous ball of some kind of breading or coating over what I guess was supposed to be real chicken. The chicken looked like scraps and half of the pieces were just coating and NO chicken. I spit it out after the first chewy bite. Next came the all vegetable spring rolls. Better but still pretty unappetizing as I ended up throwing 3 of the 4 in a large away. The vegetables inside were not chopped up well and when I bit into one, the whole filling came out as one big slightly slimy mess of vegetables. The rice was dry and the pork was fatty. Needless to say I will not be ordering from here again. Very disappointing experience. read more
