My boyfriend and I came for the cooking demonstration they host every so often and it's one of the coolest experiences we've had. Our host, Domenico demonstrated how to make a 4 course Italian meal and used the audience to help execute the meals. In between cooking, he would serenade us with songs by Frank Sinatra and James Dean provided with a print off of lyrics so we can sing along. BooBoo was a highlight of the experience providing excellence service with her undying humor. She is one of the reasons I will be back! Doroteo was the best at serving food and wine in a timely manner and making sure all the guest were more than happy. This was such a cool experience I can't praise them enough and will definitely be back for the great service and amazing food alone! read more

What a delightful surprise this wonderful Italian restaurant in the middle of South Coast Plaza was! We celebrated by grand daughter's 18th birthday there and everything we ordered was scrumptious!. Went with group of 20 people yesterday on Sunday. Sat outside in the back of restaurant. The server was confused on orders so we got extra pizza while waiting for a risottos and a kids pasta for long time while others almost finished eating. Good deals for plaza employees but poor service. Called in an order got to the cafe, guy at the bar yelled at me saying you gotta call after 11am since that's the time we open. And that I had to wait. Fine so I leave and wait elsewhere. I get it, it's the holiday season and you're swamped but you can't forget your manners. Returned and a different waiter helped me since the original one refused to even look at me. I didn't get any apologies or any remorse so I'm done, I'm never coming back. Quattro Caffe catered my engagement party on Sept 23rd at a private residence. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but altogether the service and food were absolutely perfect and well worth it. Domenico helped with the planning of the event and Nino hosted the event the night of. The whole menu was absolutely delicious to the appetizer burratta pockets stuffed in prosciutto, to the lemon caper chicken that was tender and moist to the lobster ravioli in a delectable pink sauce. The service was impeccable; glasses were filled before they were even finished and the waiters were extremely attentive and helpful. The set up for food and desserts was functional and beautiful; all my guests were impressed by the catering. Nino was particularly kind and supportive that evening. I'm very grateful for the wonderful catering and will be using them again in the future. read more

If there was a negative point here I would have given them that . The service it's just shocking, there was a hair on my food and I didn't even get any apologies let alone anything else . Quattro is like an extension of the mall as it opens up to the interior of South Coast Plaza. I like that the ambiance isn't stuffy (literally!) and feels readily accessible to shoppers. The use of fresh ingredients is the strategy at Quattro. For those that may be underwhelmed by the creativity of their menu (that of course depends on what you order), be open to tasting and appreciating quality food. The calamari fritti in the past was always kept light and not too heavy with thick flouring. The caprese boasts ripe roma tomatoes (particularly in the summer when they're in season!) with sliced creamy mozzarella. The vegetable soup isn't heavily salted or flavored, but is simply a medley of pureed vegetables served to you in its original form. My favorite is the Di Mais salad, a composition of mixed baby greens, ample amounts of corn, sliced strawberries, and crumbled feta cheese all tossed with a zesty balsamic vinaigrette. The Spinaci salad was a bit dry for me - spinach, walnuts, mushrooms (raw), pancetta (crispy), and julienne tomatoes in the same dressing. The vegetariana pizza is brilliant with grilled eggplant, zucchini, mushroom, spinach, and tomatoes (topped with goat cheese). Pair it with some white or red wine, whichever your palette may prefer, and you've got a perfect lunch. The "club" classico panini is scrumptious with the rosemary mayo dressing and the extra crunch of the pancetta. Lastly, ask for the Seafood Spaghetti, pasta in creamy tomato sauce and served with mussels, clams, fish, and large prawns. It's a seafood lover's dream. I have yet to try their desserts (because quite honestly none have really caught my attention). But truth be told, their appetizers and mains are so wonderful, you probably won't have room for dessert anyway! Service is attentive and quick. We recently went to one of their cooking classes and Domenico did a fabulous job! We got a four course meal and unlimited red and white wine for $49, an unbelievable Bargain.
