First off, why have I not been here sooner?!?!? Amazing service and the food is pretty damn good. The happy hour specials are a great deal ($5 on select authentic Mexican dishes). 4.5 stars. While waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant, my friend and I decided to have a few drinks and apps at Que Bueno Suerte. The house margaritas hit the spot, perfect for happy hour! With our chips, we had some salsa, guac, and ceviche. Loved the flavors of the ceviche "stack" and the freshness of the chips. Highly recommend all of it. Oh, and right before we left, we managed to stuff a taco into our faces. I got the shrimp one... sooooo good! There are many other tasty-sounding options on the menu (food AND drink) so I'll definitely be back for more. Looking at their website, there's the occasional special event, i.e. $3.03 tacos on March 3rd, so check it out. Whether you're here for brunch or drinks (or both) it seems like Que Bueno Suerte is a suitable spot for any time of day! Enjoyed getting a chance to check out this restaurant tonight! The food was very tasty, between the spices and textures, we all left feeling very satisfied. I had 2 of the appetizers (tacos dorados and molotes) , and my family members had variations of the tacos- nice to find something for everyone! The atmosphere is great with the Mayan inspired wall art and modern lighting and the service was prompt and friendly. They had a piano there that was covered but looks like there may be nights where they offer live music! Definitely a good spot to check out next time you're on Pearl Street and feeling hungry! read more

Well, we made reservations, showed up on time, and then hilarity ensued. We were seated in a corner semi-circular table that looked to be a continuation of the 8 top next to it, complete with what could only be described ( our table) as a Chuck-E-Cheese Ambassador without his Adderall, bouncing around with a stupid faux moustache made of potentially delicious? salsa remnants. "No, Young miss, this will not do. You will seat us away from THAT." I'm no Jeddie Knight, but to her credit, she did move us. We were then seated at the two top next to the band who, happily, were really really good singers with beautiful sounds coming from them. I didn't even mind the level of decibels, truth be told. Service was the highlight. Absolutely sweet and attentive waitress trying her best. Not reflective of Mexican cuisine in any way shape or form. Fajitas = grey/rainbow meat normal peppers and onion and random sweet refried black beans. Enchiladas = tomatillo salsa made with more white vinegar than anything else and poorly assembled in two crumbling corn tortillas. Nobody got past the first bite before we asked for the check. I moved into this neighborhood very recently. Suerte was so welcoming and amazing. Let's start with the staff. Attentive, fast, and knowledgeable. From the amazing servers and bartenders like Nesta and Kenzie to Chuck the GM - amazing. Kate the Exec Chef is super present and the food seems like her personal mission. More on that below. The first bites we had, my kids and I just knew immediately it was amazing. But the surprise was how diverse and consistent the food is. I haven't had a single bite of food here I didn't love. My favorites are the Costillas (short rib), carne asada tacos, and the Molotes starter (can't even describe what it is but yummmm). A few nights a week there's a band that's super good too. They play high-end mariachi music but also a smattering of other music like David Bowie, Jimmy Buffet and some well put together oldies like Benny and the Jets. Highly recommend! read more

I can understand why - the food is all meh and they were basically almost out of everything to make their cocktail list menu. Came here for a post workout happy hour tonight. The chips and guacamole were delicious! And a good serving size too. My Paloma was pretty tasty, and - again - a nice serving size (at least 10oz, not a skimpy glass). I had the chicken enchiladas with mole. They were very tasty, as was the rice and refried beans which came with. My friend's mocktail margarita looked really good with lots of jalapeños as she requested. Ate here on a Saturday night, no reservations but we were able to be seated without a problem. We ordered queso fundido ( I would pass on this, it's ok but pretty basic) chicken in mole (delicious) and a variety of tacos including the Al pastor and fried avocado which were both amazing. Servings size great, and our drinks were good too - margarita and Paloma - no artificial taste which is always my standard for whether or not it's good. Service was great. I'm usually not a fan of live music but it wasn't too loud and was good. Not sure if they have this every night? It's also a beautiful space. We'll start with the good. Interior decor great. Molotes great. Red Chile salsa that comes with posole great it can complement other food items like the tacos well. Seat cushions in booth great. I ordered molotes I didn't know what these were before today. If you love Chile rellenos and sweet potato fries these are are a good combination of that. I ordered two tacos and unfortunately the tortilla was cold so I ordered a side of tortillas x2 and these were like they were supposed to be, warm. The mushroom nopal taco part was good the fish taco fish was great. But I shouldn't have to order extra tortillas to make a taco and get charged for them even though I told the waitress the reason for ordering an extra set of tortillas. My partner got a posole it was meh. The meat parts were fat only and it was only 90% stew. Server was kind but not as detailed as the one for the next table. I would not return it's over priced for average food. If you like to drink it's a good place for that but don't come for the food, I don't recommend eating a meal here. read more

This place is THE hidden gem. The best classic margarita in town, a fresh take on classic Mexican fare. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the Pollo en Mole, which came with two different mole sauces and the juiciest half roast chicken I've had from a restaurant in ages, and the fried plantains really took the dish over the top. I saw the table next to me order fajitas that they lit on fire table side, I've never seen that before! Happy hour prices are also shockingly affordable. All their signature cocktails are half off from 3-6, making it enticing to try something new! The atmosphere is fun. So disappointed that a great location has a restaurant like this. The restaurant is so large, but never packed, which now I understand why. The food is mediocre and the drinks are not consistent. We ordered margs and a beer. Mind you it was 4pm and less than busy. Took about 15 minutes for our margaritas and about 20 minutes for the beer. Mind you all of the draft beer just started working (at least offer a free beer for the wait). Food came fairly quick. BUT... our second round of drinks (same exact drinks and bartender) were not the same consistency. Margs had zero flavor besides straight tequila. I literally had the bartender taste the drink and he 100% agreed it wasn't a good margarita unless you wanted to leave the restaurant trashed which was not my intent. I left my marg at the bar, because for one, it was trash and didn't want to drink it. The waitress Taylor picked up our drinks from table to replace them and noticed I didn't have the original margarita on the table. So she made a huge deal and had to double check with the bartender and other staff to see if I left my margarita with them before she handed me my replacement. That single act was the wrong move on the waiters behalf. Mind you, nothing was comped (free) nor did the restaurant manager check on our table once, which I think is odd for a restaurant in that neighborhood for a manager not to (touch a table) as he was behind the bar the entire time with the bartender while it was slow. This place is beautiful definitely well decor, service from the beginning was horrible. Walking in it was obvious they had just open and with low volume, staffing was short so no host upon arrival. The bartender came right away but the attitude was apparent that he was not very happy to see us. Conversation was short and it was like pulling teeth to even have the slightest connection when it came to menu. His attention seemed to be focus mainly on the table next to us what looked like employees so instead of trying to experience what seemed to be a real bad ending I ended it short and closed out. Guacamole was delicious the salsa however seem to lack a bit of salt and as far as the margaritas on the rocks the taste was as if it's been pre-batch so, old. This place has an amazing vibe/ambiance but really overpriced, subpar food. You walk in and you're embraced by an simultaneously intimate and trendy vibe. The decor is fantastic. The food however was unimpressive. Tacos are $4 each and don't come with a side. They don't come with salsa (what tacos don't come with salsa?), so they charge you a dollar per small serving of salsa on the side. I had the carnitas, pescado and carne asada. None of which were memorable or even very flavorful at all. I asked for a side of rice and beans and they charged $6! Outrageous. Drinks were expensive. The house margarita is fine but definitely on the salty side (not just from the rim). We ordered a frozen drink which cost twice as much and it was small and tasted just like a regular daiquiri. They justify it by saying it has twice the alcohol but a double shot still isn't worth $19. Cant say I'd ever hope to come back which is really disappointing given the unique vibe. Let's start with the pros! Burgers were delish! Quesadillas were delish! Cons: Carnita tacos - The meat was pretty thick, and the corn tortillas did not taste good. Tacos de camaron - eh Tamales- rock hard, if I was to have just bitten into it I probably would have hurt my teeth. Luckily I used a fork and as I was cutting into, I couldn't! So needless to say I didn't get to try it. Customer Service: Wasn't that great. Mediocre at its best. When asked if we could atleast get a refund for the tamale (via phone), they made it seem like why would we be asking for a measly $3? They offered a new tamale but because we picked up to go and was already home we didn't want to go back just to get one tamale. At the end they said we received our $3 refund back onto our gift card. Service was nonexistent. I was in a party of 2 and we were sat almost immediately at a booth just behind the hostess' stand. The booth itself was fine, just a little awkward as it left us directly facing a table of 5. The other occupants didn't make it awkward.. what did, however, was the fact that their waiter came out 4 different times (checking on their food, offering and bringing back a box, coming back to offer dessert and then ask about splitting checks). In every interaction with them, he either looked at my table briefly before handling the other table or he would completely have his back to us. It was unclear if he was meant to be our waiter, but he never checked to see if we needed to be helped. The hostess did not give us menus when she sat us (which is 50/50 at most places these days so we didn't worry about it at first). There was a severely worn out QR sticker on one side of the table. After a few minutes of no one coming over, we attempted to scan the QR code to see if maybe we were supposed to maybe put in a order through our phones. The QR code was so worn that neither of our phones picked up anything. During this time, we saw 3 waiters/waitresses at neighboring tables bringing out food, checking on patrons, and going over physical menus with people. During this time, we were not greeted. We never even received water. I didn't want to seem impatient, so we did not flag down anyone for about 10 minutes in hopes they just felt busy and were behind. Between 10-15 minutes later, we decided to leave after the waiter at the table less than 3 feet from us had his back to us for the 3rd time. As we left, we let the 2 hostesses sitting behind the counter at the front know that we vacated the table due to no one coming over to which they stayed seated and one said "sorry about that" as we left. So many textures, bright colors, great use of upcycled materials (LED illuminated old fluorescent light bulbs) make the visual aspect of dining at Que Bueno Suerte worth a trip! Location: the heart of Pearl Street Denver area, right next to the new public parking garage. This restaurant was new to me. After a very positive brunch experience with our cousins, we learned that the restaurant group is Denver-based Mission Yogurt, a company that owns several restaurants at airports like DIA, San Diego, and San Jose. Aside from owning Que Bueno restaurants, they also own Timberline Steaks, Sara Lee Sandwich Shoppe, and Colombo Yogurt. The company startet as one small yogurt stand at the Stapleton airport back in the 80s. This addition to their portfolio outside of an airport received a scathing review from the Westword after their inaugural winter of 2017. However, our experience was great! We were the only patrons in the restaurant Saturday at lunch at 1 pm, which we assume was due to the current coronavirus situation. I decided to try a green colored beverage in honor of St. Patrick's Day, even though we were at a modern Mexican restaurant. Michelada Verde combined a bright tomatillo and lime emulsion with the Mexican lager and chili powdered rim. Bueno! We started with the guacamole, which was very fresh! I ordered carne asada y huevos. The beef had great seasoning and was very tender. Everything on my plate was separated fajita- style. I ordered a few tortillas on the side so that I could make little tacos from my plate. Nate ordered the Suerte Burrito (chorizo) which was huge! Maranda adhered to her keto diet by ordering the modern Mexican take on a chopped salad (spicy pepitas, roasted mushroom, and requeson cheese). Bob had two pollo al pastor street tacos. This version included fresh pineapple and pineapple salsa! The sides of chorizo that both he and Maranda ordered were very generous! Everyone was happy with what they ordered, and the prices seemed normal, especially for this trendy part of Pearl Street. I feel this is a very fun take on Mexican dining. No, it's not authentic, but I would definitely take co-workers or family members when they come to town. For a brief moment you can feel like you are at a glitzy restaurant in Vegas while you enjoy modern renditions of old favorites. read more
