10/10 would recommend this place! As soon as my friends and I walked in, we were greeted and seated by Lino. I ordered the queso birria combo with a horchata and being from California this was the best queso birria I've ever had in my life. I loved that the shell was crunchy and not too soggy or too soaked from the consome. It was super flavorful and the meat was tender. It was a tiny bit salty for me but the Spanish rice helped even it out. I can't wait to come back to Texas just to eat at this restaurant again. Lino was amazing and super attentive. He basically did it all from being the host, server, checking the kitchen, and checking in with us. The interior and exterior of the restaurant was beautiful. Sadly this fell short for us....Place has great seating in and out...The service was Extremely Slow and included repeat requests for the basics...Chips, Salsa, Queso and Chips to start....They only brought Green salsa...had to ask for red....Queso was Canned cheese...not bad with a few scoops of red Salsa...Chips were good...Wife went with the Beef Enchilada with Red Sauce...Beef was OK, but had more than its fair share of potatoes as filler....And the sauce was nothing short of Tomato sauce that would have been better suited for Spaghetti as it had Zero Mexican flavors...Zero....First time out of 200+ mexican joints that the wife didnt finish her Enchiladas....I ordered the Asado De Puerco only to be told they were out 5 minutes later....I order a Mixed Plate with a Crunchy Taco, Chicken Enchilada and a soft taco...Shell was good, beef was bland....Enchilada was solid with a tasty green sauce....Soft taco had a great flavor but the meat was super chewy and tough....Now the Highlight of the Whole meal was the GD Birria Ramen....Great flavor on the broth...super tender meat and very filling....also included on Birria taco on the side...On a positive note, there breakfast looks amazing...if were ever get a chance to visit again, it will be for that. read more

It has to be super fresh or super innovative or consistently delicious. And this was not any of that. The space is lovely; it did feel like it was something else before this spot took over. They tried to up the elegance and it make the atmosphere a bit off. The servers are super nice and helpful. I ordered a michelada and it was pretty good, but it seemed to take forever to come out and it didn't seem that busy at the time. The food was really Ok. I was told the chicken was too salty in a friend's dish, but my enchiladas were fine. Just fine, nothing to write home about. Let's just dive right in: The Queso Birra Tacos are exceptional. Think: Melt in your mouth beef and a little crunch to the taco shell. This reminds me of authentic food in Mexico City. I ate way too much and it was worth it! My friend ordered beef enchiladas, and he found them perfect, as well! The atmosphere is fun. There is a lot to look at since they used every cent of their decorating budget. The only thing I would change here is the annoying "DOOR OPEN" announcement by the alarm system every time the door opens. I'm not usually distracted by this type of thing but it was so loud that it became a joke at our table. I think a simple ring note would work. You can tell that there is genuine pride in the restaurant itself and the food. Great job! read more

First time, with family, at this relatively newly opened restaurant. Sat outside on a small, comfortable decked area. Prompt, friendly service from start to end of our very tasty meal. Thanks Jesse and Bruno (see photo). Chips and salsa (various choices) were fresh and had the right amount of heat/zip. House salad was very large. Charro beans and refried beans were good. Grilled veggies were fantastic, perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. My pork dish was very well-seasoned, served at the right temperature, a big portion, and great - yum! My son-in-law had the five or six taco plate and said it was really good. My wife enjoyed her cheese enchilada but thought that she would pick something different next time. She made a point of saying that she loved the vegetables. Well-stocked bar inside. I thought the prices were very reasonable, especially given the large portion size. Really good dinner experience! Rice was cold Beans were amazing Corn tortillas were cold and chewy. And to top it off the aguas frescas were disappointing. Good food, large portions, service a bit slow. I suspect Que Divino is not quite running like a well oiled machine as it's only been open for a dinner a short time. The service was very slow. It seemed like there were enough wait people but they took awhile to stop by our table on several occasions. We went on a Friday night about 6:30 and were seated immediately. We were glad to see a lot of people coming in around 7 because we'd like this restaurant to succeed. We started with a couple of house margaritas. They have a bunch of flavors but we just went for the standard. They were fine, tasted like a mix but good flavor. My wife ordered the enchilada sampler from the Tex-Mex menu. I ordered the birria tacos. Both orders were a lot of food - 3 enchiladas on my wife's plate, 3 tacos on mine. One of the enchiladas was chicken with suiza sauce, which she said had a tad of spice and was very good. The other enchiladas were cheese and beef, topped with Tex-Mex sauce. They were both good. Charros beans were also good and the rice was good if nothing special. She ended up taking most of the beef enchilada home. My order had three huge birria tacos stuffed with brisket. They were very good. I also took one taco home. The total for our meal with drinks and tip was about $69. Maybe a tad on the expensive side but I guess pretty typical for Austin. Hopefully, the service will get better when we certainly return to try out more menu items. read more

Excellent food. ! I was quite impressed with all of the food here. The food was presented just a little differently than I am used to, but it actually was better the Que Divino way. I ordered the Mixed Enchiladas and both the rice and beans were in small separate bowls which made everything neater. All three enchiladas were very tasty, despite having a little different taste than I am used to. A good thing! The waiter was great as well. I've been here twice hoping second time would be better but drinks and food are just sub par. The first time my bf's cheese enchiladas were cold. He never sends food back but sent them back and asked them to heat them up. They came back and were STILL cold He asked for beef quesadillas instead since my chicken ones were warm. Quesadillas were nothing special. Mango margaritas were ok. Severs are nice and polite. It's not then but the cooks who need to amp it up. The second time my friends and i shared nachos and again , food was just okay. They charged an additional $1,50 to add mango flavor to my margarita which I found surprising since mango margaritas were listed on the HH menu. Food is not horrible but also not the best. So the company I work for does lunch drop and Que divino was on the menu today. Funny enough this place has been bookmarked for a couple weeks now because I was intrigued by their street taco catering. Anyways, I got the birria tacos and my goodness they were so good. There was a healthy amount of meat, super cheesy, and the salsa and consommé was all seasoned very well. There was flavor in every bite and it worked so well together. My colleague got the street tacos and unfortunately for her she said the tortilla tasted store bought and they were overly large for being street tacos. My other colleague got a taco plate but for the life of me cannot find the name of the menu item. She was very pleased with her order. Also the packaging it came in was very organized with business cards, each plate came with a charred jalapeños and even came with a warm chocolate chip cookie!!! I will be trying to street tacos next time to form my own opinion (bc I really want that street taco catering) however highly recommend the birria!! #supportlocal read more

On a day that was supposed to be joyful and seamless, my daughter's wedding, Que Divino Cocina catering added so much stress and anxiety and affected the quality of our event. I would not recommend them for any large events. While the food may be good at the restaurant, the catering service provided cold food as they were an hour and fifteen minutes late, preventing proper prep time to adequately service 220 guests. The serving of dinner was so late and chaotic, as Que Divino staff was frantic, that I had 3 other vendors step in to help serve. This was embarrassing and it cost me money. The menu we ordered was not followed, with the restaurant providing refried instead of charro beans and only corn tortillas instead of mixed. But that is minor compared to receiving cold food! The food presentation was also crappy as they used cardboard trays like you would at a county fair, to serve sour cream and Guacamole and used small 9in white plates for dinner. When I approached the manager about these issues, I was told there were "unforeseen circumstances" that delayed them. Traffic is not an unforeseen circumstance. While Que Divino is located in north Austin and the wedding was in Kyle, the manager Leo admitted they headed out at 3:15 to arrive by 4 pm in Kyle. So this catering service thought the trip would take 45 minutes on a busy Saturday? As I said, no accountability for adding stress, cost, and more work for this wedding. I tried to work with them to give me a small refund to cover the added costs and they have refused. I don't like to affect someone's business but I also want other weddings to avoid poor service, when the catering costs so much and is a major factor in a wedding. Ordered delivery and ordered only Birria Tacos, Queso and Chocolate Churros (After calling to confirm the options on Churros.) before tip was $44 and then it came very quickly only the queso was poured directly into a styrofoam togo container (not even the bowl or cup kind, like no lid regular small styrofoam to go container) and that was wrapped in saran wrap so that it wouldn't leak i guess. Received no chips. No salsa. I guess maybe supposed to use the flour tortillas for queso? And then the churros didn't have chocolate. The Birria were good. read more

I wish I would have taken a photo of this massive burrito we just devoured. It's so good. It's got like, shredded brisket and birria dip and the BEST TORTILLA and We add guac to it and share it, and it's legit the most delish burrito we have had outside of San Diego. This is our second time enjoying it, and it is exactly as good as the first time.. Service was perfect. Everything done just as asked and food brought out quickly. I will start by saying the food is excellent and the portions are huge...but, the service sucks and it's far too expensive. We had a group of 10 that went in for happy hour on National Margarita Day. We had even made a reservation so they knew a large party was coming. Happy hour normally ends at 6, they ran happy hour pricing on the margaritas all day though. A normal house Margarita price is $12, HH pricing was $6.50. It was NOT busy when we were there, maybe 4 other tables total, yet the service was lacking. We asked for water SEVERAL times and never got it. We asked for limes twice and they never brought them, and we asked to refill the chips once and that never happened. We waited so long for a to-go box that it was almost time to eat again lol. The happy hour menu is only drinks, there are no food specials. She messed up the checks for several in our party, charging for the wrong items or listing the margaritas at full price instead of HH price, so we had to have her correct them. Gratuity was already added on because we had a large group, which is fine, but it was kind of sneakily added in where if you weren't paying attention you'd double tip. A disappointment, with the huge caveat that they've only been open for four days. Let's start with the drink order--one iced tea and one house margarita on the rocks. The iced tea as a lemon iced tea--not what we wanted, so we sent it back. The margarita was a typical cheap-tasting house margarita. I wouldn't order it again. No chips or salsa while we waited. I mean, that's an expectation of Austin Tex-Mex places (with the allowed historical exception of saltines at El Patio). We ordered the veggie taco plate and the Palenque King Taco Plate (a combination of six different kinds of taco). Warning: the prices on the menu don't match what we were billed. The King Taco Plate was $18 on the menu, but $20 on the receipt. We didn't receive an itemized receipt until I emailed it to myself after the credit card transaction went through. I did not call and complain, but buyer beware. While we're talking about the checkout process, the automatic tip choices on the handheld credit card machine were 15%, 20%, and something larger (22%or 25%; I can't remember). You can also choose a custom amount. Anyway, back to the meal. A waitress brought by a pitcher to refill our water. It had no ice, so we were drinking room temperature water. We had to ask for additional ice. In general, our waiter (plus trainee) weren't attentive. I'll note that the restaurant was about 60-75% full, so it's not like they were slammed with business. There was a manager(?) running around in shorts and a t-shirt paying more attention to his computer and phone than to customers. The meals arrived after a few minutes. My wife described the veggie tacos as greasy and flavorless. For both of us, the stars of the meal were the Charro Beans. Good flavor and well-prepared. Nothing else rose to the level of "good". The Spanish rice was salty. The King Taco plate came with an ample portion of diced onions and cilantro. I also asked for red and green salsas. (The red is kind of spicy.) The salsas were fine, but nothing memorable. I'm glad I asked for them--the tacos were dry. I ate all of the cheese and birria taco and the carne asada. They were okay, but needed the salsas, onion, and cilantro to add liquid and flavor. I ate about half of the rest of the tacos. They were underseasoned and dry. The chicken was particularly dry. Let me summarize by saying that the food and service both need to significantly improve. We'll probably give them a month or two to right the ship before we'll try it again. If it's still not better, we'll wait for the next restaurant to take its place. read more
