Taqueria Los Altos was a first-time visit for me. Located in a shopping center and they have accessible parking right by the door. The restaurant was very clean with plenty of tables, and the table service was good. My Spanish is pretty limited, so ordering took a little extra back and forth to make sure we got everything right, but everyone was patient and we figured it out. I'm glad we did because the food was worth it. Everything tasted fresh and was made to order. My only complaint was the salsa, which had zero heat to it. I like a little spice, so I was hoping for at least a bit of a kick. My husband ordered an omelet and loved it. I went with the mini taquitos, and they were delicious. Between the friendly service, clean restaurant, and tasty food, this was a great find. Looking forward to trying different menu items the next time we're in the area. read more

Came back to get their standard Enchiladas verde and though it was amazing, it definitely is no Enchiladas à la Diabala!! Of course it also does not share the same price tag with the diabala enchiladas being $2 more- for obvious reasons. One thing about this place though is that their chicken is always made perfectly, so flavorful and tasty, such a refresher from places that have simple plain white shredded chicken.. We loved the old location but this new one is awesome! The same friendly staff are there to keep that coffee flowing for breakfast. Like the previous place, there is plenty of parking. Now you can walk over to the movie theater after or before a meal. I had my favorite three of a kind breakfast tacos. The salsa was nice and had medium high heat. Everything tasted great. We really want to come back for their lunch or dinner to try more of their menu and some of those adult beverages. Yum! read more

Aesthetically pleasing. It was a very big, very clean, and not a lot of customers (which is sometimes a sign, judge for yourself). Service was fine, maybe a bit slow. It does make me chuckle when at a Spanish speaking restaurant and they use the informal you instead of formal. That's nothing to quibble over, but worth noting if you care about those distinctions. They still took care of things, although our server left without telling us. The food is affordable but not particularly high quality or flavorful. I would say Chuy's has more flavor. I did like their chips and salsa. I do like to play it safe and get whatever they call the TexMex combo of enchiladas and tacos and whatever else. Now that was a lot of cheese! Portions were adequate. The water glasses are big, but it does drive me crazy when you have to pay for a soda by the can. Nostalgia. This place is very laid back and has a vibe like an old school Mexican get together. Or maybe we just got lucky but they are jammin and people are just enjoying themselves here. The food honestly is very sold especially the combination plate of asada and pastor. Once again felt like my Tia made a plate and served it up. The only thing I would say could be better is the tortillas. They are those Tia Rosa store bought ones, but other than that it's solid. I just ended up eating the meat and taco stuff with the bomb chips they have. Everything was honestly great here from the service, food and vibes. It's unfortunate that highway construction forced a move, but I have been very happy with their original location and expect it to be just fine at its new place. I've mostly visited here for breakfast, and have been served well each time. A must for an enjoyable breakfast is frequent checks for coffee refills, and they consistently deliver. We also have great variety in the breakfast menu, including nopales (cactus) as an ingredient option. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with green salsa. Super cheesy and filling! Minor complaints: never thought I'd say this, but I'd prefer a little less cheese. The salsa verde got lost in it. The chicken in the enchiladas also didn't seem seasoned. It is nothing some salsa can't fix; I prefer tinga style chicken in my enchiladas and that's basically what adding the salsa made it. Okay -- the food here was fabulous but I couldn't get past how poorly maintained the building was. I got a delicious ground beef burrito with heavenly rice & beans while my friend got a toco plate that looked even better than what I got. While the food and the service were both far better than I would have imagined, the ceiling, the walls, the windows, and virtually everything else was so run down and dirty that it was hard to enjoy. The dirt hanging from the HVAC diffusers was so thick that I wouldn't dare sit below it. The men's room had a ceiling roof leak above it that made it impossible to use the toilet. My husband loves the chilaquile plate or the alambre which is carne asada, chicken fajita and sausage with peppers, onions and Monterrey jack on top. They have daily lunch specials for weekdays and happy hour specials as well. But their regular drinks have great prices. If you like birria, the tacos de adobada (Jalisco style BBQ) are very similar. Chips and salsa are free starting at 11 am. They have horchata, tamarindo, & jamaica. They also give you red tomatillo salsa and green jalapeño salsa in bottles! Only because the sauce was too thick for my liking; however the rice and beans here are superb. Almost better than my moms! and that's saying a lot. They were perfect.
