Very likable cafe for breakfast or lunch. Went twice and tried different things - they feature both Mexican and American food, and seem to have a good handle on both. Plus, their coffee is very good. Starving the second visit so I went with the pancakes, eggs, steak and fruit. Didn't even do coffee this time, as I had come pre-caffeinated. I ordered the eggs poached, as I often do when also having pancakes. Happily, the poached eggs were perfect, allowing them to cascade down the side of some of the pancakes. The pancakes themselves had a good bounce to them, but were not rubbery. In fact, they had an enviable balance of soft yet still solid and just thick enough. The steak was good -- a bit more gristly than my earlier visit (in a different dish). The fruit was fresh and refreshing. The first visit I enjoyed the coffee, then a Mexican dish. Rancheros with Flank Steak strips. This was served with scrambled eggs, and is another hearty and utterly tasty entree. The steak strips were nicely seasoned and easily to cut through and chew. I also really liked this dish. We tried the banana bread on our second visit. It was OK, if a bit dry. Service was good, friendly and it's lovely to look up and see what's happening outside of this corner cafe.
I found this place while searching for breakfast/lunch locations on Yelp. I saw they had an horchata espresso (two of my favorite things) so I knew I had to try this place. The horchata espresso was very good. I thought it was more on the horchata side than the espresso side in terms of taste, but to someone who doesn't drink coffee (my father), the espresso was very noticeable. I ordered the avocado toast and it was really delicious. The multigrain bread wasn't hard like a sourdough bread would be so it was very easy to bite into. The sauce wasn't too spicy and added a tang to the avocado toast. The handful of fries was also a nice touch! We had to wait a bit for our food to arrive because it was busy, and the location is small, but I definitely recommend checking it out.
This was our favorite breakfast spot in Playa, hands down. We went almost every morning. The iced espresso horchata was . The breakfast was fresh and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely return next time we visit!
Discovered this small, quaint restaurant at the end of Quinta Avenida away from the center. When there's a line then they must be doing something good. Really chill bohemian vibe. The food is the star of the show. The menu offers a huge variety even the most picky eater in your group can find something here. I ordered: Chilaquiles - this is so authentic tasting, the black beans was flavorful, the salsa is fresh, eggs properly cooked. I like my tortillas to be slightly soft after soaking up all the good sauce. Cafe America- fresh and strong. Come here and you will not be disappointed. Just be warned this is very popular, so I advise to come before 0900 so you don't have to wait too long.
Stopped at this cute location after lots of reviews I read. Location: 5 Avenida Staff: friendly, helpful and fast Parking: none Seating: outdoor (gets crowded, we arrived @8:30am) Taste: had the avocado toast but replaced pooched eggs with sunny side up. Was not my fave but average. Kids had sunny side up eggs and they love it. Waffles they loved. Torta was also average. Drinks: horchata was delish. Horchata espresso was delish!!! Especially with the heat the refreshing coffee and sweet water was a hit.
Delicious fresh breakfast with lots of vegan and vegetarian dishes can't beat a good delicious breakfast with plant based milks you won't regret it!
This is a wonderful place on 5th to grab breakfast. The service is wonderful!!! I love the chilaquiles rojos. So delicious!!! If you visit Playa make sure to stop here for some great food!!!
Visited Que Huevos while on vacation in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Looked it up via Google and Yelp and the reviews and pictures looked good. I had the French Toast with eggs and bacon the first visit. Then the Mega Breakfast (Pancakes, eggs, black beans, flank steak, and fruit cup). Food was very tasty. I will start with the one thing that made me deduct a star. The eggs were not prepared the way I asked for them. I asked for eggs scrambled soft. The first time they were brown. When they were re-cooked they were better. The next day the same thing happened. I was disappointed especially because the name of the restaurant is Que HUEVOS. You can't mess up the huevos when it is your name. Now for the the good stuff. That French Toast was beyond amazing. The flavor, the texture, the crispy outer texture and the perfectly cooked inner texture. All I can say is WOW. The bacon was crispy and good. Wish there was more. The flank speak was tender and flavorful and cooked just right. I could cut it with my fork. The black beans would have been good on their own. They complimented the meal perfectly. The Pancakes were good, they had a hint of cinnamon and were fluffy. The fruit cup was fresh and juicy. All in all I enjoyed this spot. I woke definitely visit again when in this part of Mexico.
I ordered the egg and longaniza tacos. I found the tortillas to be very dry, seemingly not very fresh. The egg and longaniza mixture was fine. It was not particularly flavorful. The service was also extremely slow.
A cozy little breakfast/brunch spot in the busy town of Playa Del Carmen with super affordable prices, is right here at Que Huevos. I was a bit skeptical because it's located on the busiest streets in Playa Del Carmen. The food is very much Mexican style with a fancy flare...may be considered boutique-ish without the price and attitude. I ordered the Chilaquiles Divorciados. A mix of red and green chile and 2 eggs. They were outstanding and I highly recommend.
Not bad, I like the fresh grapefruit juice. The Benedict didn't wow me and for 145 pesos I expected more than just what's in the photo. Good wifi for work though.
Que Huevos fue mi desayuno favorito. Voy a visitar la próxima vez. This place was my most favorite place. Definitely visiting next time! You have to visit.

This small little restaurant is on the quiet side of 5th Ave. This place stays busy so our assumption was that the food was pretty good! We were right! The food is delicious. I had the machaca and egg tacos. It was 3 of them and they were delicious. One of my daughters had the breakfast burrito and it was a nice size and delicious as well. The remainder of my family had waffles and eggs. They stated the eggs may have been a bit over cooked and the bacon wasn't cooked to a crisp ( but some people like their bacon that way). The waffles were perfect. The only tuning I want to warn you of is of you ask for additional syrup there is an almost $2 charge that they don't make you aware of. Lastly, the regular coffee is pretty good. I drink coffee everyday and can't stand weak coffee and this coffee is just right. Like most places in Playa the service is a bit slow but it's not horrible. Highly recommend this place for breakfast. They also have lunch but we didn't have lunch so I can't comment. read more

Delicious! Had breakfast here today. Chilaquiles al James for me, French toast for my 7 year old daughter, and my wife had egg tacos, along with hot tea, chocolate milk and green juice combo. Everything was excellent and service was friendly and attentive. Best breakfast we had during our 7 day stay (we stayed at an all-inclusive). read more

We stopped here on the way to the airport. Best breakfast we had while in town. The location was nice and the service was excellent. I had a espresso horchata and the chilaquiles and my husband had the chai tea latte with the chorizo tacos. We loved it all. read more

Must try if you like Mexican American style breakfast. We went twice, had great experiences both times. The best breakfast was the huevos divorciados. My favorite drink was the macchiato, just add some sugar. They have a good selection of food. Not a place for large groups, their tables accommodate 2-4 people. Friendly and attentive service. Very good food, quick and fast service, and the location was close to the main strip and safe to walk around. I highly recommend going here, try the banana smoothie!! Only reason I give it a 4/5 is because I would've loved for them to have different potatoes for breakfast instead of fries read more

Staff is nice and attentive! I heard a lot about the avocado toast and to be frank, I was underwhelmed. Pretty generous portions, especially the smoothie bowls, but definitely not blown out of the water compared to some places I've eaten here. read more

Ambiance is decent, was better because we had an incredible street performer out front serenading us as we waited for our food. Had the avocado toast and it was very average - lots of avocado but kind of bland. The American style fries were not it for breakfast. read more

This place is exactly what you need to start a healthy leisure day at la playa. The waitstaff are incredibly friendly and the food simple clean and delicious. Because it's a bit down from the main drag, it's not mobbed. Those in the know make the trek. read more

We ate here a few times since our Airbnb was a 2 minute walk away and it did not disappoint each time. Loves the cantaloupe fresh juice and horchata espresso. My boyfriend ate the green Chile chilaquiles with chicken and eggs every single time. lol I had the steak and eggs, french toast with fresh fruit (HIGHLY recommend) and the chorizo with eggs and it was all very delicious. the staff was friendly every time as well! we loved eating here. they take card or American $ as well. at the end of Quinta Avenida so worth the walk if you aren't too far. read more

Do yourself a favor and eat here, great food, chill vibe, quiet corner on 5 Avienda Norte. Absolutely love the eggs on avocado toast, possibly the best eggs I've had in Mexico so far. The fresh cold juice will make you happy. Also just a few steps to the beach... Buenisimo!!! read more

This was my favorite breakfast spot while in Playa del Carmen! The avocado toast was by far my favorite. I don't think I've had a more perfectly cooked egg. We also had the pancakes, steak and eggs on different visits. Iced coffee was great, the cucumber lemonade drink was very refreshing. Staff were very friendly and accommodating as one morning we arrived with a large group. Everyone was extremely satisfied with their meals. I would definitely return again when in the area. read more
