There's a reason this place is 5 stars. It is one of my favorite restaurants in Playa Del Carmen. They take vegan to a whole different level! Everything I've ordered here has hit the spot. The food, service, quality, price- all perfect. The parking is always easy and it's walking distance to the beach. Their outdoor seating is so quaint and relaxing. Their pancakes are to die for. I highly recommend everyone visit. I can't reiterate this enough- everything here is amazing.
This place is a go to for me. Food's delish and the service is good. Everything that I've ever ordered here has been really good. It's also a nice place to sit down and do some work on your laptop- it's on a more quite side of town.
The food is really good. I got the huevos rancheros. The matcha latte though tastes a bit weird on the other hand. They also only accept cash for now.
I met a chick in Tulum prior to coming to Playa Del Carmen. She said vegan options were hard to find. I guess she didn't know The Pitted Date existed. It looks like a former retail store turned restaurant.. Indoor and Outdoor seating.. Table service.. I wasn't sure about table service because the one guy working in front was laid back, aloof but nice. I didn't even think it was more than a juice bar with some snacks around the counter but they have a full on menu. On the pricey side at that.. I didn't love what I had. It was ok. Ok enough to come back and try other things but also-- meh.
Great menu - amazing food - amazing juice! I would not recommend to matcha latte, the one I got was very bitter. My guess is they are brewing the matcha at temperature that is too high and burning the tea.
A great spot for foodies and vegans. They have so many options if you look at their menu. I was overwhelmed with the number of choices. It has such cute decorations such as succulents and quotes in the store. Came here with my friends that don't eat meat and they really enjoyed what they had to offer. The cashier is really nice too and took their time with the food. I got a latte, açaí bowl, and huevos rancheros and I was not disappointed. I was really full at the end and the food was quite colorful. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to not eat meat or dairy products.
Probably one of the highlights of this Mexico trip. All the food that we tried here was so good. All are very delicious. If I could eat here everyday I think I would. My favorite was the side of potatoes. I don't know what you guys did to those potatoes but they are yummy af! Would definitely recommend to a friend. When I come back in the future, I will definitely visit here again. I wish you guys are closer to me.
This place is DELICIOUS! They have such a variety of options for food and drinks. They have such a cute ambiance in here and they even have straws made from avocado seeds. They serve breakfast and lunch here. I ordered the panini and the cinnamon French toast and they were so good and how they plate the food is so artsy! Definitely recommend when visiting playa Del Carmen as a vegan
Nice vegan place in playa! We were visiting playa for a day and had lunch here. The service was great, they were all so nice and helpful. There is wifi and they follow Covid safety procedures. I had the bagelwich and it was super delicious and filling. I couldn't even finish it because it also came with a side of potatoes. Their "chorizo" on it seemed so real and the dish was just overall really full of flavor. My friend got the chilaquiles which was also good and the potions were big! We also ordered the indigo smoothie and some coffee. Everything was reasonably priced, I was satisfied with my experience here and would definitely recommend it to others!

Five stars. It's great because it's vegan but it doesn't taste like vegan food. I've gotten the panini and am pretty much addicted to their bagelwich (vegan chorizo and egg). It's a good place to sit and work or people watch. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive. They make your coffee just the way you like it. I think I could probably live here if they'd let me. I pretty much eat here almost every day.
As things slowly start to open back up in Playa Del Carmen decided to try some more vegan friendly options & came across The Pitted Date. Like most restaurants they have restricted sitting areas to maintain social distancing. Even better they offer a decent amount of outdoor seating. TPD offers menus in both English & Spanish & the staff is bilingual. They are one of the restaurants here that do accept cards. Unfortunately on my two stops here they didn't have any jackfruit :( but do not let they deter you as they offer many other options. On my first stop I ordered the Beyond Burger with Sweet Potato Fries (came out like chips). The burger was amazing, you could barely tell it wasn't meat & it was cooked & seasoned to perfection. The Sweet Potato Fries weren't that great. I could barely taste anything sweet about it. I am not sure the ketchup used but it was not Heinz but still pretty good. On my second stop here I ordered the Roasted Tomato soup with Grilled Cheese. The soup was very rich in flavor but I would have been fine with just a small size. The grilled cheese tho...it did not stand a chance. A great stop here in PDC.

Tried the Italian as well as the mushroom bomblette. Both were fantastic. Decent portion size and came with a good little salad. The ambiance here is impeccable and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. This was my favorite out of 4 vegan restaurants visited so far in Playa del Carmen. Plan to be back soon! read more
I came on two occasions and both I enjoyed. This is a vegan place. The products are high quality And the composition of plates is intelligent. I've ordered the fruit bowl, tempura cauliflower tacos, and falafel pita. The fruit in the bowl is fairly fresh. It's a basic fruit bowl. The tempura cauliflower tacos have outstanding thick tortillas, fresh avocado, well executed tempura cauliflower, and fresh pickled cabbage. The balance of flavors makes for a genuinely good tack. The falafel pita was also quite good. The falafel had a crisp bite and smooth savory chick pea interior. The fries that are included are fresh, crisp on the bite, and smooth on the inside. read more

I got the croque monsieur and it was the best vegan food I've had!! Everyone was very friendly and the music was good while I wrote my essay :) Super filling and the homemade vegan cheese was amazing. read more

Probably one of the highlights of this Mexico trip. All the food that we tried here was so good. All are very delicious. If I could eat here everyday I think I would. My favorite was the side of potatoes. I don't know what you guys did to those potatoes but they are yummy af! Would definitely recommend to a friend. My friend in Texas told me this is her favorite vegan restaurant in the world, so naturally I had to try it...twice lol. The first time I got the gluten free version of the bagelwich, which was delicious! The "egg" and peppers and sauce were all perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the potatoes and (what I assume was) homemade ketchup were a perfect compliment (potatoes weren't overly salty and the ketchup wasn't overly sweet). I was fairly ravenous, so I followed this up with a gluten free grilled cheeze (which was good) and a slice of the gluten free chocolate cake (decadently rich, which I was in the mood for). The next morning I went back and got a soy mocha (quite tasty), the Blissed Out Blue smoothie with protein powder (genuinely phenomenal), and the Waffles á la Choco Monkey. The waffles were a bit dense, but this is my first time having gluten free waffles, so I'm not sure how they compare to other comparable dishes. The flavor was solid, and I would get them again, although I would probably try the crepes first if I came back. The service was excellent, as the staff was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. I debated between 4 and 5 stars, but since I would honestly recommend this place to any friends, vegan or not, I decided on 5 stars. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! read more

Went to breakfast here today and the food was the best I have had in playa. I cannot eat eggs, so finding a vegan breakfast with an egg substitute was hard because a lot of places with vegan options were really vegetarian and actually included eggs on their breakfast menus. I had the avocado toast with an added egg on it and it was phenomenal. The people I was with can eat eggs and don't prefer plant based, but could not stop talking about how fantastic the food was. One had a burrito and the other had the savory crepe. One of the workers even told me where I could by the egg substitute to make my own breakfasts while visiting! A little bit of a wait for the food, but absolutely worth it. read more

We found this gem on Happy Cow and visited two times while in Playa. Being vegan, and one of us gluten free, is challenging while traveling so we almost always cook at our accommodations. But after finding TPD it's safe to say that will change the next time we are here! My cappuccino and my daughter's matcha latte were lovely and the smoothies are perfection (even the chakra names!) the Yellow one was to die for! I had huevos rancheros which was both delicious and beautiful and the Caesar salad. Both amazing. On our second visit we had the Indigo And Blue smoothies (YUM!) the breakfast burrito and the spinach omelette. There really wasn't one bad thing about this place. Seriously yummy and the presentation is just beautiful. If you have the chance, EAT HERE, pronto! read more

The waffles were amazing! Please plan accordingly though if you have a busy toddler, as the waffles take a while to make! The housemade almond milk for the lattes were super tasty too. read more

The plfood is okay, the service was terrible. I ordered a iced latte with almond milk, As I began to drink it the later became sour and the bottom began to separate. Who I assume is the owner came by and asked about the latte and I explained that it was sour and he noted that it was likely that the almond milk got too hot during the preparation and began to separate. Understandable, however, I saw him speaking to the baristas but they made no attempt the fix the latte or take it off the bill. It's one thing to serve a beverage that is inedible, it's another to acknowledge it and not offer a remake or take it off the bill. read more
Came for breakfast they were painting the porch, but still open. Inside the vibe is very modern - Got a breakfast open face sandwich which was loaded ate it with a knife and fork. The ice coffee was excellent.. the service was good staff spoke good english. Would definitely recommend for a vegan breakfast in Tulum. read more

Literally one of my top 5 vegan restaurants. Flavor and presentation was incredible. The only thing I didn't like was when we first walked in, the woman behind the counter said something to her coworker and they laughed, so we walked out. We went back the day after and she was there again, but nicer. The food was great so we didn't complain, and we went back after that. read more

Vegan in PDC? Go here! Even if you just want a break from some of the heavier fare, this place is fantastic. Delicious smoothies and beautiful breakfasts. We returned three times during our stay and didn't discover them until later in our trip! read more
