The ribs that I was served should've long been chopped into a stew special or something along those lines. The smoked chicken was a disgusting insult. At first, I thought I was mistakenly served an additional side instead of smoked chicken. Unfortunately, their service style is off the bone and finely diced. Storing barbecue meats off the bone is a delicate process. You have to take extra care to ensure that it doesn't dry up in the hot box. Unfortunately, no care was taken, so the chicken was dry and tasteless. The mac n cheese was very low quality. I'll happily pay an upcharge for the good stuff that's baked. I'll grudgingly eat Kraft mac n cheese. I will not pay an upcharge for Kraft mac n cheese. Honestly, all of this would've made the experience probably worth 2 or even 3 stars, but they have an incredibly dishonest, unadvertised upcharge for credit cards. The surcharge is definitely higher than their cost to accept credit cards. Some businesses eat the cost of accepting credit cards. Other businesses pass this cost to the customer. Now I have a #3- which ranks right up there with Kreuz and the JW Hayes. The brisket was so tender and fell apart when you pick it up. Just the right amount of smoke flavor. So good. My wife ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and said it was the best she ever had. And she is VERY picky, so I was surprised. I tried hers and it was very tender as well. I don't recall my exact order but within the menu they offer to mix and match the various dishes. My boyfriend had collard greens with his mix and match.
