REAL Barbeque! Gainesville, Georgia. 11 am. I was headed for Florida. Driving the back roads to avoid the ATL traffic. Interstate ain't for me! Denied breakfast, I heard those familiar low growls from my midsection. I was hungry. But I was looking for something special. For lunch. NO fast food. NEVER! NO chain restaurants. What I got was a STACK of RIBS...with those delectable fries and beans. Ribs. The HOLY Grail of the grill. Rustic spot with a truly BBQ feel, where you order at the counter, take a number and your food is delivered to your table. This spot came highly recommended, but I was unimpressed with my lunch. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich with fries. I was expecting sliced turkey from a turkey...instead I got what felt and looked and tasted like packaged cold cuts. I stopped in for a lunch plate to go. I ordered the chopped turkey plate with cole slaw and onion rings. It was freshly prepared and I did not have to wait long. I got a mild sauce and a sweet sauce. It also came with a slice of Texas toast. Everything was delicious and was actually enough for 2 meals. The service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Highly recommend. read more

There is nothing more authentic than a chop bbq plate with 2 sides and a sweet tea. This place does it right with a slice of Texas toast that I actually took a bite of before snapping the photo. The baked beans and Brunswick stew was 2 awesome sides. read more

Food is average and service is the same. The sides are barely above fast food standards. Website does not have updated pricing. There is no separate line for pick up orders, so you must wait in line with the people who have not yet placed an order. BBQ rating is highly subjective, but if fast food is the lowest standard to judge a restaurant by, which it is by its very definition, Bradley's is a step above that. If you have to time, try Cowboys across town for a comparable experience. For a real BBQ experience with real sides and value for the money, Crowes BBQ in Madison is worth the few minutes extra drive time. After eating there you will have a realistic standard to measure all other area family run BBQ restaurants. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself. read more

After moving to Covington we tried to find a BBq place to match some of the older ones I have eaten. So far Bradley's takes the lead on the go to for us in Covington. Their spicy bbq sauce is good with just the right amount of spice. The ribs are tender, although they are not baby backs. I really like the smoke flavor on the ribs compared to other establishments around. The onion rings were really good for what seems to be a frozen and fried product. The value for the money is a 5 star value. If you go at peak times it does get busy and the seating gets filled up fast. All of the staff are nice and they get your food to you as soon as it comes up. It is only about a block of the square and could be missed very easily. read more

The restaurant has a rustic atmosphere. The young ladies that took my order and brought the food were pleasant. The ribs were very tender and meat was falling off the bone. First time I've been to this restaurant located a few steps from Covington Square and I'm satisfied. I heard the name of this restaurant from a friend, and I will come back without hesitation. First of all, you can park quite easily in the street or in the square. The restaurant is quite big so you can go there easily without a reservation during the week, but I don't know about the weekend. The restaurant is quite friendly and family oriented, I found the staff very nice. You order at the cash register, and you are served at the table. It seems to me that you can also order to go. I found the decoration quite cool and in the theme of the restaurant. The prices were very low for a restaurant of this type. I only paid $8.99 for the BBQ plate, which was pork, with a choice of two sides. I chose French fries and a Brunswick stew which I was eating for the first time. I also took a drink for $1.49 (soda). The ribs we ordered were burnt and should not have been served to anyone but the trash. The Brunswick stew was mushy. The pulled pork sandwich was old and should have been thrown away. We had been talking about eating at Bradley's for years but just never did. I had a craving for ribs so we drove the 40 minutes here. All I can say is the bbq beans and onion rings were the best part of the meal. My hubby had what was supposed to be bbq chicken plate but the meat tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lap with no flavoring what so ever. He said the cole slaw had a potato salad taste and the FF were cold. My ribs had no bbq taste or any taste what's so ever even with sweet sauce. My mother-in-law said her bbq pork had no taste either and the potato salad was bland. We will stick to the BBQ place near us for know on.
