Crispy pork belly buns 4/5: comes with a generous slab of pork in each bun. Comes with 3 and each is filling. Oysters rockefeller 3/5 and raw oysters 4/5: im used to oysters rockefeller well cooked with a cheesy topping, CIRs version is more on the rare side with a crispy topping. Raw oysters were more enjoyable, toppings and sauce a better combination. Caviar cones 4/5: bite sized cones but the spicy tuna with caviar flavors are noticeable and perfect with crunchy texture of the cone. Cone could be thinner for a better balance. Hamachi crudo 3.5/5: thick slices of hamachi and appreciated the rainbow seaweed salad. However, this dish was unremarkable. Bone marrow bibimbap 5/5: yes, the price is steep for such a small dish but the flavors were rich and delectable. Banana miso cake 5/5: a marriage of banana foster and a butter cake. Perfect ending. The Stick Rice Xoi Xinh Review If you've ever wondered what a warm hug from a friendly Vietnamese grandma would taste like--minus the actual grandma--look no further than Xoi Xinh. I dropped by on a Friday just before noon and ordered the Xoi Cha Ca Com. At a wallet-friendly $10, the sticky rice comes perfectly chewy and the Cha ca was an amazing piece of nougat that was light and crispy on the outside and extremely flavorful/tender on the inside. From the photo, it's pretty clear this isn't a sit-down, chandelier-clinking, white-tablecloth sort of place. In fact, it's a pickup spot run by the hardworking folks from the CIR Lounge, operating daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., before transforming back into their evening persona when the main restaurant opens at 5 p.m. With friendly staffing and great food, this place definitely diserves my stamp of approval. If you're in the mood for something hearty without denting your lunch budget, Xoi Xinh might just stick with you (pun fully intended). read more

This luxurious dinner spot is hidden away into a plaza in Fountain Valley. You really would not expect it at all from the outside, but it looks like a Vegas lounge on the inside. To match the ambience, the prices of the food is ridiculous. It's good, but I'm not sure any of it is necessarily worth the price. Caviar Cones - Worth it! They're tiny bites of spicy tuna, topped with creme fraiche and caviar. The cone is delicate to not overpower the fish, and there is a zesty component that brightens the whole bite. Hamachi Crudo - Fine! Generous slices of yellowtail, delicious sauce, wonderful side of seaweed salad. It was good, but the quality wasn't so much more amazing than other places that it warrants the doubled price tag. Bao Buns - Boring! These are straightforward, boring bao buns with an unbalanced amount of fillings, as with any bao bun though. It's too sweet, too decadent, and could never have enough room to be balanced with enough pickled veggies. Crab Croquette - Definitely not worth it! The table agreed that these were pretty pungent, and disappointing in terms of how little crab you get.  Lobster Sashimi - So good! The presentation was beautiful and it was really good. This is definitely a splurge, but it is really good. I'm torn. If you're already here spending the money, I would recommend getting this. Bone Marrow Bibimbap - Fun, but not worth it! It's a beautiful dish, and it is very fun to be mixed tableside. It's good, but it doesn't offer enough of anything to be worth the price. Chilean Sea Bass - Not good. This was also unfortunately very pungent. It was not very moist for a white fish, and we wished the sauce was citrussier.  Saigon Sling - Yummy, pretty sweet for a cocktail. All of their cocktails ran pretty sweet for the night, even the old fashioneds we got. Coffee Flan - Underwhelming, bitter without the coffee flavor. One-note. Banana Miso Cake - Best dish of the night. Soft banana cake with a great balance of sweet and salty. CIR is a nice spot, trying to be a luxury restaurant without offering the refined food or refined ambience to take it to that justified price range. This was our first visit to CIR Lounge. What a neighborhood gem. We walked over and can't believe this is the first time we gave it a try. The place is located in a strip mall at the corner of Brookhurst and Talbert, in the Amazon Fresh shopping center. Tucked quietly into a corner of the center, the building from the outside looks very plain and once you step through the doors, we were blown away. The inside is gorgeous. Dimly, but the atmosphere is cozy with low lights, candlelight and blue lights around the bar. On this visit we were seated at the bar, and Randy and Eva or Ava were working the bar. They were so friendly and welcoming. We checked out the bar menu, asked Randy for recommendations and settled on our choices. Mr. B ordered the smoked Nightcap old fashioned, and he very much enjoyed it. I chose the Fireside Spritz with vodka, pomegranate, House made spiced grenadine, Prosecco and Blackstrap bitters. It was scrumptious and I loved the creativity. We ordered the Baked Cheese, which is truffled brie cheese, perfectly melted and topped with an apricot cherry compote and finely chopped nuts. The crackers which came with it were really good and the cheese was amazing. I appreciated that there were just enough crackers to finish the cheese off. For dinner, Mr. B chose the Ahi Uma Kara Tower. Warm rice on the bottom and neatly stacked on top were mild greens, nori, Japanese mayo, soy, sesame, avocado, edamame and topped with sushi grade ahi tuna. The dish was beautiful and he absolutely the quality of ingredients and how the flavors seamlessly melded together so each bit was perfect. I chose the vegetarian fried rice, which was seasoned very well and had edamame and a mushroom medley. The dish was expertly salted, the edamame added a nice crunch and the variety of mushrooms added a nice woodsy flavor. I loved the dish. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. 1. Automatic gratuity issue: We were a table of only two people, yet an automatic gratuity was added to the bill without clear notice. I personally left $50 cash tip on the table, but later found out that the restaurant also charged an additional tip to my friend's bill/credit card. This felt unfair and misleading. 2. Omakase quality: The omakase did not meet expectations at all. * Nigiri was bland * Scallops were overly sweet * Lobster tempura was salty and dry * A5 beef was extremely chewy * Clam soup had sand in it * Hand rolls were tasteless and overloaded with green onions The only items we enjoyed were the oyster uni and dessert. 3. Service: Service was cold and unwelcoming. Our server lady rarely smiled and only became friendly when dessert and the bill were asked. Water was not refilled unless we asked. 4. Presentation: The omakase - some items were served on very plain dishes with no effort in presentation. It looked unexciting, and unfortunately, the taste matched the appearance. 5. I've had CIR Lounge bookmarked for a while now and glad I finally came with a couple girlfriends. Many of the appetizers are served in threes so that worked out for us! The place is a lot smaller than I thought, with maybe about 8 tables and a bar counter. Fortunately, we had reservations and it wasn't that busy at 5pm on a Sunday. They serve some sweet and fruity mocktails and cocktails as well as extensive whisky tasting flights, wine and sake. I tried the Geisha's Kiss, which consisted of Japanese gin, passion fruit, Orgeat, lemon and topped with a smoky bubble to blow out. Fun presentation! I also got the House Kaiyo flight ($32) which included 4 different distinct Kaiyo whiskeys, smooth, smoky, and bold. Hats off to the head chef, Hiroshi Morita! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! Wagyu Sliders (3 for $27) - the Wagyu beef patty was cooked perfectly at medium rare, the shishito pepper jam was subtle and the fried nori gave a crisp contrast. Caviar Cones (3 for $18) - inside the cones were spicy tuna, Yuzu Crème Fraiche topped with Sturgeon Caviar and gold flakes. Loved all the flavors and textures in these small bites. Scallop Crudo ($18) - nice, fresh pieces of scallop tasted so refreshing with the yuzu sauce, strawberries, orange and kiwi! Vegetable Fried Rice ($24) - had generous amounts of crispy edamame and flavorful maitake mushrooms. Great for sharing! Bone Marrow Bibimbap ($69) - Pricy, but there was a generous portion of Wagyu beef and fatty bone marrow! The server mixed all the ingredients in with a raw egg and the hot stone melded everything so succulently. For dessert, get the Miso Banana Cake! ($15) Toffee-Miso Banana Cake is plated with Vanilla Ice Cream and Toasted Pecan. They pour fire around the plate giving a litty presentation. Our server, Matthew, was so kind and attentive. Everything came out pretty fast. We loved the colorful bar and intimate vibe. Plenty of parking in the lot. CIR is tucked away in the corner to the right of the new pizza place so it's easy to miss. The citrusy sauce paired beautifully with the fish, though the dish leaned a bit greasy overall cause of the shishito peppers which slightly greasy so it took away from the experience. We sipped on the Geisha's Kiss, Blue Eyed Girl, Temezcal, and Saigon Sling. I liked the Geisha's kiss, I didn't taste the orgeat. Thank goodness, because I'm not a fan of that flavor. Blue eyed girl was fruity and easy to drink. I don't prefer mezcal drinks, but the Temezcal was balanced with orange. Saigon sling was fun and strong. We also tried an assortment of dishes: baked brie, pork belly bao, steak tataki, steak tartare, chawanmushi, and hamachi crudo. I am actually impressed all the dishes were tasty. I think the best value was the pork belly bao. Hamachi crudo and steak tataki was refreshing. The steak tartare was decadent and guilty pleasure because it was paired with potato chips. Chawanmushi was small and savory. The ambiance is moody and fitting for a lounge. There are different types of entertainment on the weekend. I would say the bar seating and tables seating for 6 is limited. So if you plan on dining with a large group, make a reservation ahead of time. Or dine on a Tuesday or Wednesday. We came to CIR Lounge for my girlfriend's birthday, and the photos I posted say everything about the vibe here. The moment you walk in it feels like stepping into a completely different world. The lounge sits in the corner of a shopping center, but inside you have dark warm lighting, candles glowing off the marble tables, deep red seating, and cherry blossoms hanging above the booths. The ambiance in person looks exactly like it does in the photos. Cozy, intimate, and upscale. The big bald guy in a suit at the front welcomed us with a smile and made us feel like VIPs. Once we sat down, the space felt even better. The booth was comfortable, the purse hooks were a smart touch, and the way the lighting hits the plates and drinks looks incredible in pictures. It is definitely a place where you want to take photos before you touch anything. The bar area looks amazing with the color changing screen behind it. That feature alone adds a stylish Japanese and Korean lounge feeling that you can see clearly in the pictures. It almost has a nightlife energy, but in a classy grown and relaxed way. Service was fantastic. Our server was friendly, attentive, and offered to make a custom non alcoholic Dr Pepper style drink for my girlfriend's daughter. She loved it so much she ordered three. When the server went on break she introduced the person taking over which showed a level of professionalism I really appreciated. The drinks photographed beautifully and tasted even better. My CIR Old Fashioned with Japanese whiskey was incredibly smooth. My girlfriend liked her Blueberry Martini but ended up switching to the Old Fashioned for her second round. Food wise, everything looked as good as it tasted. The caviar cones were fresh and exactly what our server described. Flavor bombs. The sliders had a great sweet pepper jam. The croquettes were good but not something I would get again. The Filet Mignon and bone marrow bibimap was the star of the night. The sizzling bowl kept steaming the entire meal, which you can see in the picture. It tasted even better than it looks. Dessert was another highlight with a tableside flambé and a complimentary mango sorbet for her birthday. Since we were an early reservation the music had a funny moment where it would go from silent to loud instantly, like the sound system was waking up. It made us laugh more than anything and once the night filled in the vibe was perfect. Overall the night matched exactly what you see in the photos. They have a room with tables and chairs and another small room that's more private. We were in the smaller room to celebrate. It felt more private which I appreciated. Their menu features plenty of signature cocktails and other beverages. For food, they had a lot of different fusion options. They had seafood items, meats entrees, and sushi. There were lots of cavier, wagyu and seafood. I heard they even had a omakase option right now you can do. We just got the cavier cones to snack on and some delicious cocktails. Pricing is a little high but for the ambience I thought it was fine. The staff was really nice and helpful. They made sure to check on us. The inside of this place is small but its nice. It's great for smaller groups but if you want a larger group then I recommend you try to get the more private room. It has a darker ambience and is great for dates. The vibe is chill and I like it. CIR Lounge is an upscale bar & serving up delicious Asian fusion food and refreshing cocktails. I finally dropped by with some friends recently after seeing all the videos and pictures from IG and was not disappointed. The interior is beautifully designed and I love the atmosphere and intimate vibe you get once you walk in. We got seated at the bar and you can see above that they have an extensive collection of sprits. On their menu, they offer cocktails, wine and beers, mocktails for those who don't drink, and even whiskey flights! We ordered several food items including the caviar cones which were one of the most popular items and the yuzu chilean sea bass, & truffle seafood rice. Everything was flavorful and well-seasoned. Our favorite was the caviar cones which tasted just as good as they looked. We also ordered the Haruka and Geisha's Kiss cocktails and both were excellent and it was great watching the bartenders make our drinks in front of us. Service was again excellent with the staff being fast and bringing out food promptly and the bartenders were fun to chat with. Pricing is on the more expensive side since this is a more upscale spot but the food and drinks here are worth it. My girlfriend and I came to Cir Lounge to celebrate our anniversary, expecting a fun and enjoyable dinner. Unfortunately, the night turned into a complete disappointment. We ordered oysters, and shortly after eating them my girlfriend began feeling extremely sick. What was supposed to be a special evening quickly turned stressful and upsetting. We had to leave early, and she ended up throwing up and genuinely felt unwell. We've visited Cir Lounge a few times before, which makes this even more disappointing. Food quality and safety should never be a gamble, especially at a place positioned as a "higher-end" dining experience. My wife and I came to Cir Lounge in Fountain Valley to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary, and I can say with full confidence this is one of the finest dining experiences we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the setting struck a perfect balance of high-end presentation and intimate coziness. It felt both elegant and welcoming, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. Our server, Eva, was nothing short of outstanding. She carried a smile the entire night, was attentive at just the right moments, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure our evening was special. What impressed me further was that even other servers, as they passed by, checked in on us with the same warmth and attentiveness. That level of hospitality is rare, and it didn't go unnoticed. For appetizers, we began with the Trout Roe Cones and Oysters on the Half Shell. The Trout Roe Cones were little works of art, delicate shells filled with trout caviar, spicy tuna, and a velvety yuzu crème fraiche. Each cone was a study in contrast: the crisp cone giving way to the briny pop of roe and the brightness of the citrus. It was as if the ocean itself had been distilled into a single bite, then elevated with precision. The Oysters were equally divine, dressed with ginger ponzu and topped with trout roe. They were cold, clean, and alive with flavor, the kind of oysters that remind you why the simple act of eating them has always been considered indulgent. For my entrée, I chose the A5 Wagyu "Painter's Palette" Steak, and it was quite literally a masterpiece. Presented like art on the plate, the wagyu was rich, buttery, and perfectly seared, melting on the tongue with every bite. The supporting elements, the daikon, quail egg, buna-shimeji mushrooms, and kombucha puree, weren't just garnish but integral brushstrokes, adding depth and dimension to an already remarkable dish. It wasn't just food; it was a composition. My wife had the Yuzu Chilean Sea Bass, pan-seared to perfection. The fish was flaky and delicate, bathed in a yuzu sauce that danced between citrusy brightness and silky richness. The addition of blistered shishitos and uni added complexity and indulgence, transforming an already excellent fish into something truly extraordinary. The drinks paired beautifully. I enjoyed the Glenlivet 18, its smooth, oaky notes grounding the richness of the wagyu, while my wife's Purple Rain cocktail was an absolute standout. The Japanese vodka blended with blackberry, citrus, and orange liqueur resulted in a drink that was as refined as it was refreshing. When it came time for the bill, we honestly expected the experience to cost significantly more. We even joked with Eva, asking, "Are you sure that's all?" to which she laughed and teased, "Yeah, I gave you my employee discount!" That moment of lightheartedness summed up the evening perfectly, elegant yet approachable, refined yet comfortable. Cir Lounge is not just a restaurant, it is an experience. For us, it turned our anniversary into a memory we will never forget, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone seeking dining that blends artistry, hospitality, and taste at the highest level. Came back to CIR Lounge for a second visit and it was even better than the first. I tried the Wagyu, vegetable rice, potato korakke, and sea bass and honestly it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The Wagyu was especially amazing and melted in my mouth. The ambiance felt even better this time around with live music playing in the background which added a really nice touch. The drinks were really good too. For dessert I had the banana miso cake which they lit on fire at the table and it was incredible. Everything came together for a great night. Definitely a spot worth revisiting. read more

Came to eat at this establishment on a weekday evening. Not crowded and they accepted us as a walk in. Service was great from the doorman to servers and food runners. We ordered a couple of items on their menu -potato korokke 5/5 I enjoyed the aioli and the potato was soft -Korean wings 3/5 you get four pieces, average -bone marrow bibimbap 4/5 buttery and rich -scallops 4/5, you get three pieces with roe on top with squid ink sauce -hamachi crudo 5/5 the pear with it was delightful and refreshing -ahi tower with seaweed crisps 4/5 -chawanmushi 5/5 uni and unagi on top so yummy Overall, presentation was gorgeous, taste was good but for the some of the portions I felt as if it were overpriced. read more

To be quite honest, I was really excited to try CIR lounge because their social media makes the food and ambiance look enticing, so I decided to make a reservation for a gf's birthday. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation and were seated at our table without any problem. We ordered hot tea and a round of waters-- service was great -- our server was attentive and accommodating and made great recommendations, but the food was okay. It's nothing like the hype of the social media posts. But I do think the tuna caviar cones are worth trying-- it was probably the most appetizing thing we ordered. Overall, I don't think the restaurant lived up to the hype because I think what bothered me most was that management was eyeing us from the corner of the restaurant and kept sending servers to ask if we wanted anything special to drink, such as alcohol. We kindly declined, and after that, it just seemed as though they wanted us to leave when it wasn't busy whatsoever. Not to mention, initially, when I booked this restaurant through their reservation website, it specifically stated that it was 21+ and older, so I was hoping to experience the entire ambiance of the upscale restaurant. However, as I quickly learned from the families with little children all under 13 years old, it was not a restaurant for only 21+ and older. Still, I'd give it 4/5 stars because the service was great. CIR Lounge honestly exceeded my expectations in terms of ambiance, drinks, and food. I ordered the Lobster Sashimi, A5 Wagyu painter's plate, Caviar Cones, Hamachi Crudo, and Saigon Sling. Everything came out in a timely manner and was flavorful. 1 star docked because the service wasn't the best. The best Omakase in Fountain Valley and possibly Orange County on a Wednesday night in a small strip mall, who knew?!! This place is amazing! The drinks are so so good! We got the blueberry, Matcha old fashion, and cucumber drink. The uni oyster was divine, the scallops are huge, and the best thing ever is the lobster bisque with a crab claw. This omakase was amazing! The hand roll was the best I've ever had. This place bests some of the Michelin starred omakases in Los Angeles and Tokyo. So glad you are here now.
