This was my first speakeasy, FINALLY! I have been wanting to try one for years. We went on a Sunday which had both benefits and a few cons. This speakeasy is known for taking your cell phone and having a no photo policy. So when they didnt take our phones, we thought we were being sneaky with taking photos. Turns out on Sundays, it is their relaxed day where you are allowed to keep your phone, and they have the side door out onto PCH open. I loved this, but also hated it if I am being honest. PCH is so loud with motorcycles non stop, and it made the room very light. It didnt really feel like a speakeasy as you could enter right off the street. We entered through the hostess stand at HQ Gastropub. I had asked one of the hostesses what we needed to do and she stated she just arrived for work and I would have to ask another hostess when they came up to the stand. Bit weird, not the friendliest welcome, but the staff inside Graceland made up for that. The hostess lets them know we are there and someone comes out to take us back to the red door in the middle of the restaurant down a hall of colored barrels. Typically that is the only place you are allowed to take a photo before you hand over your phone. Back to the service. The bartender was AMAZING. She was so friendly and just amazing. Our waitress was great too, they were both helping us out. I wish I got the bartenders name, she was such a ray of sunshine and sparkle. Literally, she had a sequin top on and the sun hitting it put sparkle across the entire room. I had two glasses of chardonnay that were delicious. I also had a sip of my friends drinks and they were DELICIOUS! We did order food, and I ordered the spicy garlic edamame but never received it. I also was not charged for it, so it is what it is. The sushi nachos were good, as well as the beignets. I am not going to share the photos I took here, because I feel they want to keep it a surprise and I honor that. We headed to Graceland after the ski lodge shut down at 10pm, it's literally a one-minute walk and it ended up being the perfect move. It's a speakeasy inside HQ Gastropub. The place looks incredible. The Christmas decor is done so well, way better than the regular Graceland vibe if I'm being honest. They even had a piano with a live singer, and he was so good. It gave the whole place this warm, slightly magical Michael Buble energy. The new drink menu is gorgeous with actual photos and the cocktails were all really well made. Will was our bartender and he was great. He and the waitresses checked on us the whole time without hovering, which I appreciated. Easy spot to settle into for another round and stretch the night a little longer. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in HB. read more

I came in with a party of 6, everything was fine. They were busy but there was world cup game on so it was to be expected. We had the manager serving us for most of the time, but the bartender checked in on us from time to time. The issue was when we closed out, the bartender closed us out, who we had barely interacted with btw. I didn't know that they would charge an automatic 20% gratuity. They use one of the handheld tablets, so the screen showed me 4% 2% 7% instead of the typical 15% 18% 20% etc . So I asked the bartender working why the percentages were lower than usual? he said "idk we just have it like that here" i was a bit confused but i gave him the highest percentage on the screen which was 7%. Maybe a little silly on my part to think that was the highest, but I figured that's why I asked. My plan was to just give him cash to make up for what 20% would've been, but the next screen showed that I had been already charged a 20% tip. Which was interesting because when you initially tap your card, it doesn't give u the total + tip break down it only gives you a grand total. So naturally you would think like oh ok i'm tipping next ... nope u already did! So I ended up spending about $60 on two drinks and fries. Initially I was going to move on and just leave a 27% tip. I was the first to close out in my group, and my friend who was next was just as confused as I was. And so was the following person! I realized that this CANT be the first time this has happened I had to tell my entire group that there was a 20% charge already on there. It honestly was the principle more than anything else, I asked him and he wasn't honest with me. Had i not asked, that would've been on us for not checking but when I asked, I was clearly seeking clarification and you brushed me off. I can maybe say he didn't know I was confused, but with my whole group being confused too I knew that this probably happens all the time. It was disappointing to basically be lied to over a few more dollars. I did end up asking for a manager, he removed the auto-grat and was understanding and adjusted the checks for us. I can't imagine someone being concerned about you getting a low tip and still being greedy and shiesty, it wasn't a good look. Won't be back. read more

We just so happened to be in the area; completely unplanned and under dressed (having walked along the beach and already dined at another bar), I simply inquired if I could see the place. The host informed me that I couldn't do that ... but I could go in for a drink. Therefore, immediately and urgently motioned with beckoning palm for hubby to enter! How cool to be taken through the loud-&-lively restaurant, past the bar to their speakeasy, where we were immediately and professionally greeted, assigned a locker for our phones (love and respect their "no phones" policy!), then seated at a luxuriously plush sofa -- which we shared with another already seated couple! This speakeasy, unlike all others we've visited, to date (quiet, peaceful, and conducive to conversations), was loud, lively, and active, with a huge screen -- exciting to the senses! The drinks menu was extensive, making a selection difficult. Service was comfortably attentive and pleasant. We ended up thoroughly enjoying the couple seated next to us, which definitely added to the enjoyment of the evening!! Drinks (as to be expected) were high but tasty (my Sidecar had too much of a sugar rim, which with the condensation made my glass irritatingly sticky). Our view is that this destination is better suited for a younger/youthful (than us) crowd; however, SO glad to have experienced Graceland -- another on our speakeasy list. Not a speakeasy. They had a big screen the size of the wall playing sports at a high volume. So loud it was hard to hear each other over. Made you check your phone at the door so you couldn't take photos, but it's just one single room and there are already photos of it on their own website. There's definitely cooler spots (blind rabbit, etc) that are actually speakeasy's and those still let you take photos (but ask no flash). They automatically charge 20% gratuity, and then still present you with the screen to add another tip when you pay. Half the drinks we tried to order we were told are no longer on the menu. They sat another group at the same couch / table as us. The sausage platter was decent but the buffalo cauliflower was mid. Very poor experience overall. Ended up chatting with another visitor who was there on a date and he said they'd never be back either. Skip this one. It's not a secret spot, it's just another overpriced bar behind an extra door. read more

Downside is it's tough to know the time. Either way, the cocktails were superb. The snacks & bites were also tasty. I have lived in Huntington my whole life and just discovered Graceland! Granted they have only been open for 4 years, but I can't believe I haven't been before. I absolutely love the vibe and love the no phone policy. A bit of quiet and class in the beach and beer culture of HB. My husband and I had two drinks each. Between the two of us, we tried the Butterfly, the Black Sheep, the Old Fashioned, and the Desierto. The Butterfly and the Black Sheep were both too fruity. In the Butterfly, I only tasted the pineapple juice. Old Fashioned and Desierto were better. Each cocktail is $22 so keep that in mind. I'll definitely be back! read more

No phones allowed, they lock your phones up before you go in so I don't have pictures but the most beautiful drinks also. We got the sushi nachos and shishito peppers which were so tasty. I don't even like raw seafood and the nachos were 10/10! As for the drinks- they have a huge menu and everything sounded so yummy. We ended up trying 6 drinks but I can't remember the name of them. They have beautiful and unique cocktails. We went with Graceland (because I do like sweet) and my friend got Tea Party which was very unique and food. Drinks were pricey at $22. We chose this speakeasy to celebrate a special birthday, and sadly, it turned out to be a big disappointment. We visited the week before to make sure the atmosphere was right--cozy, intimate, with stylish decor. The contrast between the loud sports bar in front and the hidden speakeasy in the back was part of the charm. We even asked the staff what the vibe would be like on the night of our party and were told there would be an 80s playlist (no live music), which sounded ideal. Unfortunately, the night of the event was nothing like what we were told. Instead of music, there was a giant screen blasting a basketball game and loud commercials (no view on the sunset!!). The cozy atmosphere we had hoped for? Gone. It felt more like a sports bar extension than a speakeasy. We were just a few people, but it honestly seemed like the bartender and his friends had taken over the space for their own hangout. Super disappointed, especially after putting in the effort to plan and confirm everything ahead of time. This is not the kind of vibe you expect--or want--from a speakeasy even on a Wednesday night. Balanced and wanting to try more. Mai Thai I think I always love to try as it irritating when you have a Mai Thai and all you taste is pineapple juice. Had some items to eat such as meatballs and French fries. Ya definitely food selection could improve on. I would've expected French fries to be crispier fries from being amongst one other couple at speakeasy when it opened. So if they share the fryer with HQ then maybe get another fryer for the speakeasy. No pics allowed. I'd go back for drinks for sure. read more

We were so excited to try this speakeasy out for our friend's birthday. We checked in half our party and walked through the "secret" door, where you have to surrender your phones. We were sat at long bench like couches with little cocktail tables for our group. The room smelled like incense, if you've ever been to foundation room at House of Blues, this is exactly the vibe. Our initial server was a guy and he was nice enough, although it seemed to be under staffed based on how long it took the one bartender to make drinks for the 45+ people in the room. We ordered small bites for our group to share, the charcuterie board was my favorite pick. The lady who brought the snacks was a bit rude. She just said here's some things, and we tried to clear space to put the food. They didn't even take any empty glasses away , just stared at us until we moved things around to put the food down. We had one couple show up later than us and at the door they said we hadn't arrived yet.... But because they had our phones she couldn't call us. So she asked to walk back to check and sure enough, there we were. It took over 30 min to get our second round of drinks after asking 3 times about the orders. Our absolute favorite of the night was the DJ. He played the jams and we had the whole room up and dancing (even people we didn't know). My two cents here are: 1. Properly staff your space and if we're making this a "hidden gem" please train your employees to act accordingly. 2. For a place called Graceland, it is a HUGE miss to not have made this an Elvis theme, with special cocktails and decorations. The decor makes me think this is a copycat of The Foundation Room. 3. Don't bring waters to the tables immediately, the glasses take up too much space for the small area you have. 4. The menu and its organization need some help. It was overwhelming at first to look at. I also love that you have to put your cellphone away in a locked box. Really makes you appreciate and experience the moment and your company. This upscale bar sits on PCH and is the perfect location to start your evening with a craft cocktail. How do you find this hidden gem? Head to the back of HQ Gastropub, where you'll stumble upon a room filled with neon kegs. A team member will remove your phone and place it in a safety deposit box once you enter the speakeasy. You'll also receive a playing card, which you'll need to redeem your belongings when you leave. Photos are prohibited, but imagine a room filled with plush velvet couches, quirky finishes, hand painted accent walls and floor-to-ceiling booze. There's also live music in the form of either a DJ or pianist. They have a large menu of 20+ unique speciality cocktails and several appetizers. Unfortunately, I don't have a photographic memory (and alcohol tends to make me forget things) so I can't remember the exact cocktails I ordered. But I will say that the matcha beverage was life-changing! Be warned, drinks start at $20, so it's easy to rake up a pretty large bill if you have more than one. There is a dress code, so be sure to do your research in advance. One of our group members was asked to remove their hat, but otherwise it wasn't very strict. Wow, what a special place! Stumbled upon this place on a random Thursday night out and was so pleasantly surprised to find this speakeasy inside this otherwise typical bar. Phones were confiscated and put into lockers immediately upon entry (which is such a shame because the place was gorgeous and such a vibe and I wanted to take pictures of everything!). Right when I walked in I was greeted with beautiful live piano music and we were seated in a lounge area and given a menu for drinks (and food). All the drinks looked amazing and tasted equally amazing. The ambiance, decor, piano music, and just whole vibe was so special and intimate. It felt like a super cool dinner party hosted by a friend. The staff was also so friendly as well! I didn't catch my server's name but she was so sweet and gave us awesome drink recommendations and made sure to keep checking in on us throughout the night. This is easily one of my favorite bars to go to after 1 visit. I was with my buddy and we were looking for a nice cocktail bar in the area since we always end up at Sharkeez. Graceland was recommended on yelp so we decided to give it a try. 1st off, we were lost for at least 30 minutes because we simply couldn't find the place & the directions took us all over. I decided to read the reviews for help & luckily someone said that the Speakeasy was inside of HQ which was EXTREMELY helpful! We walked over to HQ & asked for Graceland & some guy called us to the back of the establishment which was cool. You walk inside and as soon as you get to the Speakeasy you have to give up your phone so that they lock it up. I absolutely LOVE this idea. Too many times you go out drinking & there is someone just sitting on their phone, nahhhhhh not here LOCK THAT THING UP!!! Instead of giving you a key for the locker they give you a playing card. I received the Jack of diamonds & I thought this was the sickest thing ever to retrieve your phone. The inside is very spacious & the bar is extremely beautiful, I wish I could take pictures to show you but YOU HAVE TO SEE FOR YOURSELF! I ordered a few drinks and every single one of them were amazing. They had literally everything one of my favorites was the Leopard, try this when you get in. A nice gentleman was singing & playing the piano when we were drinking also and he was taking requests as well. They came back & said it's closed for a private party. Zero on your Instagram page about it, nothing on website. Didn't even attempt to comp a drink at the bar for the trouble. Why didn't the host know this when we were checking in 45 minutes early? They also said next time we could make a reservation even if only two people....wrong! As a person who loves taking pictures of everything, I'm devastated that they took my phone before entering (you have to put them inside of a locker during your visit) so I have no photos to document this amazing experience. Cool spot, BUT KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR BILL!!!! The drinks were great but I had a single bill for my drinks, and there was a separate bill for the rest of the party. The server double-charged, my bill ended up on the party's bill after I had already paid mine, AND I was charged a 20% gratuity for my bill even though I ordered my drinks at the bar separately from the party. I have to eat that because the oversight was on me for not scrutinizing the bill. Keep an eye out though -snakes just trying to make that money on customers who are drinking! This place was horrible! Over priced drinks and the most rude staff I've ever encountered, including the manager! I was with a group of friends who all came to see our friends play a gig there. We were all over dressed, drinking $18 splits (one glass!) because they said only had $450 bottles of champagne, not the $100 bottle of French champagne listed on the drink menu! To make matter worse, I had a recent knee replacement and there were no ELEVATORS from the underground (overpriced too!!) parking that forced you to walk all the way UP the ramp to get to the street level entrance and back down again to get your car... scary at night too! My friend who played the gig had his car held hostage because he brought cash not a credit card to pay for the parking, and the number to call to the parking company in the parking ticket was not in service either! If you want to get treated like sh*t by every under dressed snooty person that works there, including the Wednesday night manager and... pay a lot of MONEY for it...you won't be disappointed!! read more
