We went to Agave Seasons last night and immediately felt right at home. The service was exceptional, attentive, and welcoming. Loved the decor and atmosphere, made it feel like we were enjoying drinks on vacation. The handcrafted margaritas were incredibly fresh and perfectly infused perfectly with agave. We sat at the bar, ordered a few appetizers with our drinks, and everything was delicious. A special shoutout to Rafael, who took amazing care of us all night. We'll definitely be back! read more

The food was mostly very good. However the service was very bad. We were seated for about 10 minutes when I got a call from the restaurant asking if I was going to keep my reservation! I looked over at the host and waived! They didn't get my order correct. Luckily it was a simple fix... I just moved the beans and onions off my plate. My buddy's issue was different. He order the regular ribeye. The wait specifically asked if he wanted the bone-in or regular. He again said regular and added " no bone." He also stated he like it rare but not raw since his last few tries at other places were way undercooked. The steak came bone-in. We pointed this out and the waiter joked, and asked for the regular. He stated you get a significantly bigger steak now for the same price. That's 10 ozs for free. He cut in and the edges were cook rare, but the middle and especially along the bone was cold/raw. The offered to re-cook it, but everyone knows that just dries it out. He ate the edges and took the rest home to re-cook as leftovers. When the bill came, the waiter charged us for the bone-in! We had to ask for this to be corrected. I felt the food was very good and would have given the place a second chance, but when the manager came to ask us about our experience and we told him... he just froze and said that's too bad, I will have a talk with them. We came to this restaurant on Mother's Day. They weren't too busy which was great. This restaurant is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. It is clean, beautiful inside and has outdoor seating. The food was okay. We tried a couple of appetizers like the guacamole, the chicharron, and coconut shrimp. The chicharron is probably the only one I would recommend. I dislike putting negative reviews about the service at a restaurant, but it could have been better. Two separate times we ordered mocktails and they both came out with alcohol accidentally in them. We had to return them even though we were clear on them being without alcohol. We also did not really get anyone checking in on us. My combination plate was good, the green enchilada was savory. read more

Was here from out of town and I was genuinely excited to try Agave Seasons after seeing their website. Atmosphere and service was good! It is in the corner of a shopping center but has an outdoor patio, large bar and beautiful interior decorations. I will say the drinks were great! Honestly, I debated on my review because I didn't speak up at the restaurant. I ordered the agave osobuco and the meat was barely warm and the potato was so cold. I couldn't enjoy it because I just kept thinking so is this frozen? Can't be fresh and be cold like this. At this point, my husband's eating his food and he's half way done by the time someone asked us how it was. I just didn't care to sit there and wait for a new plate as I was over it. read more

We stopped by Monday for lunch. We were the only people in there. We sat at the bar and the gentleman who served us. Food was very, very nice. We got a chicken burrito, a steak burrito, and a burrito to go. My girlfriend ate 60% of her chicken burrito and I ate the other 40%. That night we both became violently ill and we were throwing up and had diarrhea the entire next day. I am confident we got salmonella poisoning because the following night we couldn't even sleep because we kept running to the bathroom. I'm wondering if anyone else who had the chicken on Monday June 29 got violently sick as well? read more

The food is sub-par. Great staff, terrible food. The risotto was so greasy with butter grease sitting on top of it. The filet is not an actual filet it is overcooked meat bites. Again, the staff was amazing! Beautiful restaurant but, food is no bueno. read more

Worst service ever! Our server was so rude that we had to leave. When ordering food for the kids, we asked for it to not be spicy, and his response was that Mexican food is spicy and that they should order from the kids menu instead. Not helpful at all. Then when I ordered, he basically interrupted me, and basically told me to shut up and to stop asking questions, and to wait for him to ask questions bc it would be easier for him to enter into his iPad. He wasn't friendly, wasn't nice. They had no extra staff, no bartender, and the place only had a handful of tables occupied, mostly empty, prob bc they have the worst service. Absolutely horrible experience. We made a reservation for Valentine's Day and were seated 40 minutes late. The hostess told us we could wait at the bar, but the bar was only serving water. We sat there anyway, managed to get a drink, and when we were finally seated, they put us outside in a cold corner while half the restaurant was empty. When we asked to be moved inside, they acted like it was a major inconvenience. After we were seated, I placed my order and asked for a couple of simple changes: salmon with butter instead of the aïoli sauce, and potatoes (which they offer as a side with other dishes) instead of vegetables. I even offered to pay extra. The server told me it would take another two hours if I wanted any customizations like potatoes, so I said fine, don't worry about it. When my food arrived, it still had the wrong sauce. I politely asked them to remake it with butter. They took the plate back, and when it returned, the piece of fish was half the size of the original. The server then told me the cook was frustrated because they were very busy and that the restaurant usually doesn't get much business, so they couldn't handle it. The meal also came out without butter. When I asked for a side of butter, he said he had to ask. Meanwhile, the couple at the table next to us told me they had received butter with their steak, so it shouldn't have been an issue. He came back and said the chef refused to provide a side of butter. During all of this, there was also a dine-and-dash incident, and the waiter began telling us what happened using profanity and complaining that the customers didn't pay. The entire experience was a complete disaster. Even other patrons were visibly upset. There was no real apology and no attempt to make things right. Will not return. read more

A group of 12 of us came here for a birthday dinner over the weekend. We had a hard time finding the place because there was no signage, at least anything obvious, so we ended up circling the parking lot a few times. There is indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor area looked very clearly closed and sad. Our dinner was for Sunday evening at 7pm and we were the only diners there the entire time. There was one server who seated us, took the birthday cake to cut, took our orders, made drinks, did everything basically-he was awesome. The service was attentive and great. He even led the birthday song. What a fantastic guy. Anyway, we got waters and chips with salsa and bean dip-both were tasty. I ordered the ceviche sampler as my entree. I wasn't starving but I could eat. The sampler has very small portions as you can see in the photo. I get that it's fish and it can be pricey, but it was a letdown. The rest of the entrees at my table were pretty good portion size wise so I was expecting a little more. Flavor-wise, it was okay. I don't think I'd make a special trip to come back here. My "8 oz" skirt steak tasted like butane and was so cute and tiny. 4oz would be more realistic. food was basically cold and small portioned for the price. Awkward table service. Amazing food! I will admit that there was NoOne here when my son and I walked in, so service was stellar. I was in time for brunch, so opted for the Carnitas Hash. SO good! Absolutely every bite was delicious. My son opted for the Chicken Taco/Enchilada combo and he loved it. The sauces on both plates were flavorful and just plain yummy. We did order drinks. Attention Agave: Stop taking reservations of you can't honor them. We made a Valentine's Day reservation many weeks prior for 7:30, and when we arrived, they said the wait was 45 minutes. Then why take reservations? Also, they don't give a beeper to tell you it's ready or take your phone call, so you have to wait outside in the cold with almost 20 others. Therefore, if you wanted to maybe get a coffee while you wait and come back, nope, might lose your spot. Completely unprofessional and, on a special night like Valentine's Day as well. Adding Agave Seasons to the list of gorgeous dining spots in HB right near the water (it's only a couple of blocks away)! With ambient lighting and a stunning interior, it makes for a great date spot. Their food is amazing! Especially love their plates, lots of which are mix-and-match. You get to taste a bit of everything. I went with their Carnitas Soft Taco and Chicken Mole Enchilada which also came with rice, beans, and a small salad. Every single element was delicious! I have had my eye on this place for years. It is right in my neighborhood. I was delighted that my friend agreed that it seemed like a good place for a Friday afternoon Happy/Hour beer. The dining room is big and bright! The bar stretched along the big windows with comfy stools. The bartender was friendly and efficient to a couple of seniors who only ordered a couple of Coors Lights. The menu looked intriguing and featured very upscale Mexican seasoned options! We spent a very happy hour drinking our beer and having a happy conversation in the most comfortable environment. When we come back, and I am sure we will be back, I may have to order dinner! read more

My husband picked out this restaurant for us to try and on the surface it is great. Easy parking, great ambiance (I love the decor and plant wall), friendly employees with great service, a fun food and drink menu... However while the food looked impressive it just tasted mediocre. Everything looked amazing but the taste didn't live up. -Ceviche sampler: shrimp, octopus & tuna - 1 star - it was so spicy it overpowered the seafood and it consisted of 90% tomatoes where it tasted like I was eating pico de gallo with some seafood in it. Now I like spicy foods but this really just tasted like a spicy pico de gallo salsa with a meager amount of seafood thrown in. The octopus was perfectly cooked though so that's a plus and the tuna and shrimp tasted fresh. However, for a "sampler"you'd expect something different or at least some variation but all 3 of these ceviches were exactly the same other than the main protein. -Guacamole taster - 2 stars - the plain guacamole was fine, the lobster guacamole had breaded/fried pieces of lobster that were so mushy I couldn't taste the lobster only the mushy breading, the carnitas guacamole had good tasting carnitas but it wasn't shredded it was just served in a big boulder shaped chunk on top of the guacamole and I had to get a fork and knife to cut up that big boulder of carnitas which was awkward. Again, just like the ceviche, this was called a sampler but all 3 guacamoles were exactly the same other than the protein. Disappointing! The chips were the star of the show - light and perfectly salty. However isn't that kind of sad that I liked the chips better than all 3 guacamoles...oh and the pickled onions were good too... -Shrimp Taquitos - 4 stars - now these were very flavorful and tasty! The only problem was that their serving size is 3 pieces which isn't great for sharing and for the price it was a small serving. Overall the food was so mediocre we actually decided not to order entrees and just paid then left. Also, despite it being cold and rainy they kept both doors to the restaurant open and I was freezing. It was such a shame we used our date night here because this place looked so nice and just looking at the menu beforehand, we thought it reminded us of our favorite restaurant in Cabo, however, once we got there and tried the food this restaurant didn't live up to appearances. read more

The food was not your typical 1-3 item combo with Beans and rice, although they do have that on the menu. This Mexican restaurant offers a wide selection of specialty meat and seafood plates that all seemed to offer choices for any mood and curiosity. I have been there twice and have chosen the seafood chili Reno and the seafood enchiladas that include lobster crab, and shrimp. The dishes had quite a bit of flavor and I was very pleased. We will continue to go to this restaurant as long as we are in the Huntington Beach area. The ambience and the service of this restaurant are top notch and the best I've had in any Mexican restaurant. I Ordered the chicken enchiladas and it came cold. 5 stars for our server Justin!! I've been to this location back when it was other restaurants. I'm really rooting for this one. It's a great location not too far from the beach and not far from some big hotels. It's in a parking lot with other businesses (free private parking) They have a gorgeous spacious patio area with heaters which would be great during the summer The inside is spacious as well, I love the layout. It's casual enough to meet for some drinks after work or dress it up for girls night out. The tables are very spacious as well. My girlfriend and I sat in a half booth / chair table. And we both sat on the booth side so we could talk, and we still had so much room Our server Justin was extremely attentive and helpful, and someone who appeared to be the manager / owner came out and checked on every table. So 10/10 for the amazing service. They had a great cocktail menu. unfortunately we weren't very hungry and didn't order much. Other than the chips and salsa which come with a delicious bean dip and salsa. Their menu was impressive, they had your traditional options, a large seafood portion and a good selection of appetizers we both ordered the- frozen coco. Came here with a party of 7 and it was our first time here. the inside of the place was cute with dim lights and the menu has a lot of options. but when the food arrived most of the plates came out semi warm. appetizers were okay, some are bland and too salty. 2 people in the party ordered the steak and lamb, they were both RAW when we asked for medium rare. i've ordered a plate that was a bell pepper stuffed with cheese, shrimp and crab. i forgot what's it called but the dish wasn't tasty. it was bland, lots of cheese, small shrimps and shredded crab that barely had any. a couple of hours later i got food poisoning!!!! also another person who've ordered the lamb! i would def not come back again.. read more

Very nice picture worthy restaurant inside a strip mall. The server was very nice and the food came out quickly. I'm giving them a 3 stars because they lose points on the food and price. The food was average and very small portions. The sticker price was a shock! My chile verde plate was 3 small ice cream scoops of pork, 1 of rice and 3 tortillas de maiz, yellow corn mission brand. At minimum, the tortillas should have been hechas a mano. Same with everything we ordered, for 8 people it was $400! Tiny ice cream scoop portions and not authentic, no seasoning. You are better off going to downtown and enjoying a rooftop dinner. Same sticker prices, but with ocean views and better tasting food. We've eaten better at Jolies for the same price. read more

Avoid this place at all cost!!! Food was mediocre, service was terrible, drinks were flavorless. I ordered the grilled pineapple margarita super bitter no flavor, for an entree I ordered the risotto with filet, it was literally a bowl of melted cheese sauce hardly any rice and only 5 tiny bite size pieces of filet. It was inedible, it was soup consistency, so I sent it back the waiter was extremely rude when I asked for it to be taken back saying that is how risotto is supposed to be. That I could order something else but it wouldn't be out soon. Oh my goodness! My daughter and I went there yesterday (5-24-2025) I had the Birria tacos and a strawberry margarita. The tacos were so delicious, I'm not sure what kind of steak but it was seasoned so well and tasted heaven. (I know it sounds weird but they were really good!) My daughter got the chicken enchiladas with a raspberry margarita. And she loved them just as much as me. The wait staff was very attentive and funny, our waiter was Carlos and he was great! The food at Agave Seasons is phenomenal. The patio is beautiful. We had the chile colorado, braised ribs, sashimi, and the black beans were beyond incredible. The drinks were beyond fantastic. Honorio was the server who took amazing care of us. The patio is dog friendly and we had a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We highly recommend Agave Seasons. Its only down the street from the beach. I hate to leave bad reviews, but I feel like it's earned since my daughter's birthday dinner was ruined. Let me start by saying the server took forever to take our order, and then he offered chips and salsa and we said sure, not knowing they charge you for chips and salsa, thought all Mexican restaurants bring you chips and salsa when you first sit at your table. And then Even though the Place was semi empty, it took them 2 hours to bring out our food. food was horrible non of us ate our meals. Some of us threw up while the others left hungry because their plates weren't eatable, who serves white rice with fajitas?, and don't make a mistake and order any drinks cause you will be disappointed.
