All laundry mats have that Outer Limits feel to them right? This place smells like a grumpy old chain smoking man, which is probably because that is exactly who runs the joint. Either way- this place is alright. It's clean and accessible, so whatever- gets the job done. Useful things to know before coming here: 1) The machines don't use quarters. You will need three singles to buy a card at the machine when you walk in located between the two front doors. From there- you can use singles, fives or tens to load up the card. Another thing is hold the card in the machine for a moment for the transaction to go through. I kept sliding it in and out like a debit card and the old man wouldn't let me in on this bit of information, i had to figure it out myself. 2)There is parking out front. 3)The machines lock once you close them so you can go across the street to grocery shop or whatever while your clothes run through their cycle, which is to say you won't have to worry about people rifling through and stealing your Hanes Her Ways. 4) There's a play ground equipped with a swing set around the corner which is much more fun than grocery shopping. read more

Ken and Vi have been doing my laundry now for the last two years. I work 6-7 days/week and go to school full time coupled with my apartment on Queen Anne doesn't offer a laundry facility. I choose full service, for both my personal linens and my business' linens, and they really have taken such outstanding care of my linens, as well as warm and caring customer service. They take pride in the business they run. They are experts in laundry. Great customer service and customer satisfaction. They have gone above and beyond what is expected with their service and are extremely helpful with accommodating my busy schedule. My laundry comes home smelling fantastic and everything is folded to perfection. I've clearly communicated the specifics on how I like my items handled,(to the finished product), and they always deliver quality immediately. A few items have suffered, but who's to say I wouldn't do that throughout the year(s) myself, had I actually done my own laundry. They improve the quality of my life. I can't say enough good things about Queen Anne Laundry. I will continue to be a happy loyal customer, and if you are looking, STOP. These guys are great, let them take care of you. You can drop off and pick up, or for an extra fee(TOTALLY WORTH IT), you can have them pick up and deliver, (if you are close by). My first laundry review. This place rocks. You can leave your laundry here, or you can do self-service. Here's the cool thing about self service. The management is really helpful, and even offered to move our stuff into the dryer for us. They sold us detergent in usefully small portions, instead of stiffing us for more than we needed. Everything was inexpensive. Thanks to them, "self service" was about as easy as having them do it. Places like this don't really exist anymore, but thanks to some sort of twilight zone irregularity in the space-time continuum, the Laundry Room is here. Definitely worth supporting. read more

Oh this place. My husband and I have to go here because our cheap ass landlords don't provide enough washers/dryers for our building. The parking is atrocious, its always too hot or too cold in there, half the dryers are broken, their detergent dispenser has never worked, something always stinks, and the bathroom smells like someone has bad aim. But the employees are very nice (once you get used to them) and you don't have to get billions of quarters to do laundry, they just have cards you load up with bills. Plus you can get multiple loads done at once. It's not usually too crowded in there. And if you pay enough attention you can see a full moon. It is what it is for those who don't have the luxery of affording a place with a washer/dryer. read more

Nothing fancy about this place at all. It is conveniently located to plenty of coffee shop and restaurants near by. The parking out front is hit or miss sometimes. I live in the Maple Valley area where full-service laundromats apparently don't exist, although there are dry cleaners abound. I used to work in the Central district and don't anymore but this place is still better than basically everywhere else in the greater Seattle area if you want to drop your laundry off. They will wash, dry, and fold it at a very reasonable price. I also appreciate the fact that they don't randomly take vacations and close the shop down for days at a time like another place I tried and that they answer the phone unlike yet another place I tried. Although we as a society may never reach laundry nirvana, in which my clothes instantly wash, dry, fold, and put themselves away, this place comes closer to that than any other solution to my knowledge. read more

The prices are really reasonable and the laundromat itself is in a really busy area so there's stuff to do while you're waiting for your laundry to finish. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly, and patient with another customer who was frustrated that most of the units were taken (it was mid-afternoon on a Saturday so I'm not sure what she expected). I've been going there regularly for more than 4 years, and they consistently provide great service. My husband and I were on vacation in Seattle and needed to do some laundry. I absolutely recommend QALR. The employee/owner at the premises was very helpful. The laundromat is coinless and regular customers purchase a laundry card that is inserted into the machines. However, we were able to just pay cash for the two loads we washed and dried. The rates were reasonable ~ $2.25/small load (35 min wash cycle) and $.75/dryer cycle (30 min). The facility was clean and there were plenty of machines, even though it was a Sat. morning. There is WIFI in the facility, but there is Starbucks 100 feet away, so that is where we spent the time. QALR is located at the corner of Boston St and Queen Anne Ave. read more

I was scared to sit on them so i stuck with the plastic ones they provided. the man running the place was kind enough to show us how to get a laundry card. Pros: do your own laundry they can do it for ya clean facility free wi-fi telly to watch comfy seating plenty of coffee shops nearby Cons: several washer/dryer machines are broken frumpy, chain-smoking, madman is in charge on occasion ( i refer to him as grumpy) parking is limited. Here's how my first visit went: Just as I entered the building at 7:35pm on Sunday, Grumpy stopped vacuuming and just stared at me. I asked what closing time was and he snapped at me "read the sign". I retorted back with a sarcastic smile " why thank you for your excellent customer service" and left. ~~~~ On my second visit I learned of Grumpy's strong dislike towards my chipper attitude, so i called it upon myself to greet him with the most upbeat spirit, i can tell this annoys the shit out of him. Efficient washer and dryers, free wifi fast enough to stream shows, fair prices and convenient location - when it comes to a laundromat that's good enough for me. The owners and employees will help you if you need it, and it's never overly busy. As others have noted the furniture is run down but who really cares? Desperate to get some laundry done while in downtown Seattle & thankfully found this place. Bought some detergent before heading there but if you don't have any they'll sell you some. Did 2 large loads of laundry (wash n dry) & it was $16. There's always attendants there so that's a bonus. It's clean & has plenty of washers & dryers. The attendants do not touch your laundry but once the washer(s) are going they'll tell you when to return then you'll put your clothes in the dryer & they'll let you know once again when to return. The facility is surrounded by 2 grocery stores, Trader Joe's & Safeway & a bunch of little shops & eateries so you'll have things to do while waiting & there's wifi at the laundromat if you decide to stick around. This laundromat is probably the best in Seattle, and I've been using them since the Sit and Spin days. There is no luxury hotel style laundromat in any country, so whatever it is anyone expects from a self service laundromat needs to be realistic. It functions the way it should, has attendants when you need them to help you, and is open at reasonable hours. He was very generous to offer me his card as a payment for my laundary so I did have to buy the card (but of cause I have to paid my laundary in the end) and more over, they told me exactly where to get to their store which is super nice. I needed a laundromat while awaiting installation for my washer and dryer. I like that you don't need to stock up on quarters since they use a paycard system. There were plenty of machines available for a Saturday and their dryers are super efficient. Two laundry baskets worth of laundry fit in a single dryer with room to spare and were dry within 30 minutes. It only took me about an hour to do what normally takes a full day at home to finish. Hi - I live in a great vintage Queen Anne apartment building. I started to look for laundry service in the Upper/Lower Queen Anne areas. I looked at the reviews and decided to try Queen Anne Laundry Room. They have a blue bag special for $20.00. The staff and services they offer are fantastic. I have an entire week of dirty clothes in my bag, including sheets and towels. When I pick the laundry up everything is neatly folded and clean just like I would do myself. I only use the Queen Anne Laundry Room now. Fantastic and Friendly Workers, and Great Service. The added benefit is the place is very clean and a convenient location. read more
