I read several positives reviews for Queen Anne Tailors online and decided to take my $350 couture bridesmaid dress to get altered. There were 3 major areas on the dress that needed tailoring, and $150 later, none were completed correctly. When I picked up my dress, I found that the length was still too long, the back was taken in too much, and the breasts were poking out as if I were Madonna! Needless to say, I was upset. The man working there was quick to offer to fix it, but I didn't want him to touch it and make it even worse. He gave excuse after excuse saying that it took him a WHOLE 3 hours to work on it and that dresses need multiple alterations in order to fit correctly. Those are the worst excuses I've ever heard. Period. Needless to say, I wanted my $150 back, but he refused. After 30 minutes of back and forth and me threatening to call the credit card company, he finally gave me $60. I ended up having to take it to another tailor, who told me all alterations this original guy made were completely incorrect. Hemming a dress is Tailoring 101, come on! Long story short, DO NOT GO TO QUEEN ANNE TAILORS. EVER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME. read more

I have been using Queen Anne Tailors for over 3 years and have always been satisfied with the quality of their work. They have altered many of my skirts and dresses, sweaters, all my lululemon long sleeves tops and bottoms, etc. I had them replace several zippers on couple of my dresses.They just recently did an excellent job on my Burberry coat and altered sleeves from the top sleeve (more expensive but worth it!). All my designer cloth are altered by them. I highly recommend them. Parking is easy and they take credit cards - that was a big plus for me too. read more

I feel taken advantage of coming to this shop. I had a dress altered for a wedding I was in and he told me "it would be too much work" to alter the top of the dress and then the dress was hemmed 2 inches too short. I was charged $220 for this work which I ended up having another tailor alter for $40. WAY overpriced and quality of the work left something to be desired. Would not recommend. read more

Great customer service! I brought in very expensive designer jeans that became too big on me and when got them back they fit perfectly. Could not even tell that they were tailored. I paid entirely too much ($35) for a simple hem on two pair of wool slacks .The younger guy (son) was extremely rude after I pointed out long dog hairs all over my supposedly steam pressed slacks he argued with me about HIS DOG HAIRS and refused to treat me as a paying customer. I recently moved to the neighborhood, and shortly thereafter, I received a bridesmaids dress I had ordered for a wedding I was in that weekend. My story was common...dress too big...and my need was immediate...where to find a tailor for alterations done in 3 days? Thankfully, Queen Anne Tailors was my first and ideal choice! The guys are professional, with a no-nonsense approach to fixing the problem. I didn't need to linger and say much, knowing without a doubt that the owner knew his business and also, knew EXACTLY what my dress needed. I was pleased to find my dress ready by the promised pick-up time, sized down, with adjusted interior hooks, and tacking of the seams that had come loose on the chiffon in the front. I was in a pinch to get a bridesmaid dress altered. After having horrible service at Jewel Cleaners down the street, who blatantly told me that they 'didn't want to' do the work because it was 'too hard to do', I found my Queen Anne Tailors. They were amazing, helpful, friendly and timely. They said they could easily fix the dress. It was ready in time for my best friend's wedding and it fit perfectly. I plan to recommend them to others in the neighborhood as they pretty much saved me from wearing an oversize and highly unflattering dress to my best friends wedding! :) I will be going back next time I need an alteration! read more

My advice: Buy your suits wherever you want, but have them tailored here. I'd purchased several suits and had them tailored by the store (eg. Norstrom's, etc.). Then, I never like how they looked - figured I needed to work out more and get in better shape.. That changed when I found these guys. They will make your suit (and you) look it's best. First off, I feel obligated to say that I have never before gone to a tailor so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. About a week ago I brought in a couple of garments with rip/fray damage. I picked them up today and was very impressed with the handiwork, especially given the delicacy of the material. The repairs were done in precisely the way I had asked and with obvious care. I can't speak to their altering skills but I would definitely recommend this shop for repairs. The price did seem a little steep (about $40 altogether) but all in all, I'm very satisfied with the work that was done. read more

I gave QA Tailors a brand new linen curtain to shorten to 96". I told them to get it exact because I had another 96" panel I was matching it with. They said no problem. I got the curtain back and it was wrinkled in my bag. I am a seamstress, and didn't have time to do this alteration. There is no way that you can accurately measure a length of fabric without it being pressed. (Skipped a step). I just had my handyman hang the curtain and low and behold it was totally messed up. He spent an extra hour and half trying to make it look right. We measured the curtain and it is only 95". What a waste of time and money. My curtain is ruined doesn't match the other side and I spent extra money trying to jury rig the pole so it wouldn't look so bad. I have to try not to look at the window. Spent $30 on the alteration and and extra $100 on my handyman trying to cover up a messed up simple alteration job. It;s still not right. Never again. read more

Had my bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding sent out to be altered because it was HUGE. When I got it back, the sides fit, but taking it in had made a giant pooch in the front! I looked about 8 months pregnant! I was freaking out because the wedding was in a week and a half, but a local seamstress recommended Queen Anne Tailors. I rushed it up there and had barely begun to point at the problem when the gentleman behind the counter lifted an eyebrow and quipped "Maternity dress?" I started to laugh because that was EXACTLY the problem. He expertly pinned up the pleats in the front, charged me $20, and told me it would be ready in a week. I was a little bit nervous, because everyone else had told me it would be a major undertaking, but when I came back and tried it on the fit was perfect! Yay no more pregnant bridesmaid look - not that that's bad, I just don't happen to be pregnant right now =) read more

I just picked up 5 pair of Theory slacks I had taken in all over. QA Tailors did a great job! No puckering, no pulls, no funny folds -- my pants actually looked like they were made just for me. Perfect! The business itself is very relaxed...nothing stuffy or pretentious here. For years I have been taking my business to the tailor across the street from my office in downtown Seattle. But no more. These guys do great work, are super-convenient (open until 5pm on Saturday!), are well priced ($25/pr of pants), and were very nice to work with. read more

I've taken many an item in here over the years, never been disappointed. Pleather jacket? no problem. Holes in crotch of jeans? no problem. Taking in a skirt? no problem. I had a dress that I need taken in several sizes and was concerned about how it would turn out because there was so much fragile fabric stitching and ruching work. I was half expecting them to tell me that it would not be possible due to all the detail or that I would have to compromise some of the detail to make it work. When they didn't bat an eye lash at my request I was surprised! I wasn't on a critical schedule but they turned it around in a week anyway and they did a fabulous job, all of the detail was kept intact. You couldn't tell that the dress had several inches taken out of it. I will go back to Queen Anne Tailors for my future alteration needs. read more

Their work is precision, spot on, and if - IF the garment is imperfect (this happened once), they were generous and exceptional at reworking the garment one more time, which resulted in perfection. I just took in four or five suits that needed just a little bit of tailoring. QA Tailors did a great job. Everything fits perfectly. One note before you go, though: you must be direct in exactly what you want. The tailor has an idea of what's usual, and you must explain clearly that "No, I want the sleeves slightly shorter" and "Yes, only one very small break." If you do that, he'll nail it. read more

I brought a suit in to let out the seams in both pant and jacket. The pants were just right, but the jacket was still too tight. They said there wasn't enough fabric, and I understand that, but I would expect a phone call to let me know that so I could buy a new suit or consider options. Now I have a suit that doesn't fit and zero time left to get another. It's not about the money, I'd love to find an expensive tailor that gets it right and keeps my best interests in mind. read more
