I love this place. The woman inside was amazing and she took great care of my long wool coat and my wool Canada Goose jacket. Best dry cleaner and both jackets came back looking brand spanking new. Best kept secret in Seattle. I found this tailor back when she was located on 2nd Avenue, next to the Moore. Years later, she's relocated up to Belltown, and still turns out reasonably priced tailoring and dry cleaning. Always kind, super thorough, and sweet as can be. She outsources her dry cleaning but it is so much more affordable than any place I have found in Belltown (plus discounts for cash!) I've send far too many people here to count. I'm a fan. read more

I just started going here recently and have had great experiences every time! to be honest, I've never gotten anything dry cleaned before, so I have no idea if the price or the wait time is normal or not, but the woman who owns it is a delight. She's very friendly and even put her personal number on the door so you can call her if you need to. The first time I got there and they were closed even though the internet said they were open at that time so I called her cell number and she came right back and opened up for me. Also, I tie my dogs up outside bc they're crazy and I just didn't want them bothering her, but she told me I didn't have to do that and she loves dogs so go ahead and bring ''em in! I'm pleased with the owner's work. My pants, dresses, and jackets came back nice and clean with all the stains removed...cleanest I've seen compared to other dry cleaners I've been to in the past. I also had a rip on a jacket fixed here and no issues. Moving to Seattle, the price of dry cleaning shocked me (30% more than what I'm used to) but after shopping around it seems like the price here is typical of the area. read more

The woman running this place is very kind and is very fast as getting you in and out of here quickly. Well-priced and well-cleaned. I got a dress dry cleaned and though it took a few days, I wasn't in a rush. I came and picked it up a few days after it was ready, and she found it with no problem and charged me a reasonable fee. This place is walking distance to my Belltown/SLU home, and is well-located for an easy drop off and pickup as you move through life. I would certainly come back here and will be coming back for all my dry cleaning needs. The dress was well-cleaned and pressed upon pickup, and didn't have any chemical smells. It's great to have a tailor of your own. You can pick up an amazing vintage dress, have it altered to fit you, and look like a billion dollars. Or you can pick up a designer dress with a zipper blown out for a steal and have it replaced. City Custom Tailor does all of my alterations and clothing repairs. They are family owned, friendly, and fast. They can usually get your work done in a few days. It's about $20 to replace a zipper, and it's very inexpensive for a hem. Sure, the place isn't glamorous. Sure, the owners are busy. Sure, the changing room is small. Who cares? The quality is great, rates are resonable, and it's a classic American mom and pop operation! read more

This is a great mom and pop spot located close to downtown. I recently invested in a good quality wool/cashmere blend jacket that cost me upwards of $400. I'm a smaller person, so I needed to get the sleeves shortened on the jacket. I walked into City Custom Tailor at 9AM. The lady behind the counter (I believe her name is Hanah) measured where she was going to shorten the jacket, and then told me I could pick it up later that day. By 2PM the coat was ready! The sleeves are even, the stitching is perfect, and the coat fits me so much better now. It came out to about $30 to shorten the sleeves which is reasonable for a thick, lined wool jacket. It is really incredible how a quick alteration job can change how an article of clothing looks. I will be coming back to City Custom Tailor for any hemming or alterations I need in the future. read more

Just picked up a dress I had tailored for a wedding attendance. It was a full on cinch effort as I'm petite and the model on the website wore it on her 5'9 frame. I showed her pictures to give a reference of how it's supposed to fit and then she eyeballed/pinned it all in. It was a fairly free-flowing long sleeve dress so I was worried it would be left too loose/large in parts or mistakenly taken in too tightly but turns out, I needn't had worry! The final result is perfectly hemmed in all proportions and the quoted price was so reasonable!! She's my go-to from here forth. 5 stars all around. read more

A nightmare. Outsourced dry cleaning, but shop owner doesn't tell you that. Ruined my wedding dress. Wish they had the decency of letting me know that they don't know how to work with silk or that they don't even attempt to hand clean any dirt before using the dry cleaning machine. Then I could've had options to go somewhere else. Now the stains are completely settled in from the dryer and the best high end cleaner can't even remove them. read more

In October, I was in a wedding with a fellow groomsmaid from Seattle. She and I got our dresses a the same small bridal boutique and took them to our own tailors. Hers required rebuilding in a huge way, because her top sizes don't match her bottom sizes and we ordered for the bigger of the two. Mine needed a length alteration and hemming to the correct length, as well as reattachment of straps to make a halter top. Grace and Hannah did a PHENOMENAL job on my friend's dress. My tailor required a nudge three weeks after the due date so I could get the dress on time. My friend's dress was done in a week and was half the cost of my hemming and strap reattachment. Fast forward and I'm now getting married. I did not go back to the other seamstress who required nudging and charged me twice what my friend's did. I went here. Grace responded to my emails very quickly, addressed my concern that "Do you do wedding dresses?!" with grace, and was a breeze to work with in the shop. I only needed my gown shortened, and they charge by the foot for shortening. The entire alteration for my wedding gown was WAY less than I anticipated or budgeted for, and they had it done in plenty of time for the wedding without nudging. INCREDIBLE!!! I took my wedding dress there and she worked a miracle to have it fit, with major alterations with complicated lace. She did it quickly (2 weeks for first fitting, only 1 week for second fitting.) AND the whole thing only cost me $50! And she was patient with us when we ran into someone in her store and ended up making her keep the place open an extra half hour. I tried to tip her and she wouldn't accept it, just said "congrats & enjoy.") I told her I'm going to write her one heck of a review on Yelp... so here I am. I've been here twice to get a dress and a winter jacket dry cleaned. All the items felt cleaned when I picked them up so no complaints. The woman who runs the business is really sweet but each time I've tried to pick up my item, she couldn't find it. I would get really nervous for the few minutes while she searched for them and would have to point out the piece on the rack for her to be able to find it. They haven't lost anything but it makes me hesitant to go back sometimes. They also give you a 5% discount if you pay by cash. read more

Great for wash and press for men's shirts ($2.25). However, they've lost me as a customer because of tailoring. I called and asked the owner how much it would cost to hem a casual woman's skirt. She asked what material it was, I said 100% cotton, and she quoted me $9. I thought that was totally reasonable and dropped off the skirt. At pick up, the charge was $18 because she said the hemming cost is $9 PER YARD! She absolutely did not mentioned yardage whatsoever, at any point. I saw the good reviews here and went for tailoring my pants. I have four of them, however I intentionally only send one for the first time visit. The work is okay. She charged me $18+ for shorten the pants. Then, I brought the rest three to the shop, I just noticed that she overcharged me compare to first time. She charged me $22+ per pant this time. There is no price menu in her shop and it seems she just charge people randomly. The pants I sent are all jeans, so there is no reason to charge them differently. Feel STRONGLY be fooled.
