So, after having the Gel manicure done (and only having it last five days out of the supposed fourteen) I went back to Queen Bee to have it removed, because you can't take it off yourself. Of this I was unaware. Just a heads-up about the Gel, It's comparable to having an acrylic nail set put on which I am not a fan of because they ruin your nails. For removal, they basically soak your hands in a chemical solution and then proceed to peel and pry the polish off of your nails with a cuticle pusher -- not something that I enjoyed or want to repeat. There were definitely rips and scratches in my nails afterwards. However, I must say, the resulting manicure that I got after the removal was excellent! She really took her time and everything was flawless. I went during the day, so that might have contributed to the attentiveness factor since there were only two other customers in the place. So, I won't be returning for a Gel manicure again, but will come back for a regular one. read more

I've been here a few times and have gotten mixed service. The first few times I went was great, I thought i had found my go to manicure place! Unforunately over the fall/winter I didn't go for a few months then when I recently came back it wasn't the same. A lot of the people that worked there were gone. Particularly the older guy that did fantastic designs. The girls consistantly complained about their jobs working there to me...seemed rather unprofessional. Dip powder manicure is chipped already after getting it done a few hours ago. I've never had a dip powder manicure chip like this before anywhere else I've went. The black also isn't completely black, you can see some white powder in it. I also thought it was a little odd they had a horror movie playing as I was getting my nails done, not the most relaxing thing to have on while getting a manicure! read more

Heres the thing about busy salons, they try to rush and do your nails quickly in order to get more customers, this is good for them, more tips etc, but your nails aren't up to par. They do have a lot of selections for "gelish" polish but they dont have OPI. Ive had gel done at other salons and last for about a month, but here... they dont. They tend to make your full sets really fat and thick.. I think this is the trend in lowell, which personally is disgusting looking. what happen to natural? READ MY OTHER REVIEWS for nail salons. This is a nice, clean nail salon. One of my favorite places to get a pedicure and manicure. They really take their time and are very friendly. Everything is up to date and sparkly clean. FIRST of all, the lady that did my nails didn't ask me how long or short I want my nails to be. She just went ahead and just cut it. I was pissed my nails came out uneven smh. SECOND, she filled my nails with too much powder which make it too thick. I thought she knows what she was doing I did not say anything till it was done. THIRD, she applied 3-4 coat of nail polish which made it dried only on the outside . 15 MIN after I left my nail polish started to come out!!!!! read more

I used to come here all the time and had no issues with them. They're quick, because they're always busy, but eyebrows always come out well, and their acrylics are good too. BUUUUUUTTTTT that alll changed the last time I went. I went in for a mani/pedi (walk in) and were obviously busy. I noticed that the nail tech took the tools out of the electronic little oven on the side, and used them on me. Afterwards, she ran the tools under the water and put them right back where she got them from. WEIRD. The service was otherwise ok, my problem was with the aftermath. My big toe was killing me, throbbing for about a week. Literally throbbing, I could barely walk (thank God I have a sedentary job) , and the second I got home I would have to kick my shoes off ASAP because I could not deal with the pain. After about 8 days my boyfriend caught me trying to lift my nail, I thought I had a hang nail maybe, and he called me crazy. I told him I could NOT deal with rhe pain, and I was going to the ER, he called me dramatic (lol). The next day I ran my toe under hot water for about 20 minutes, lifted my nail and PUS started OOZING out of my toe. For like 5 minutes I was squeezing the side of my toe watching the pus. Thankfully the pain immediately subsided and I didnt have to go to the ER and getting drained, being dramatic has its upside. read more

Horrible!! After leaving the salon and getting a better look at them I realized they were not all evenly shaped, bumpy and not placed up to the cuticle. I asked for a specific color and she insisted and pressured me into one I did not like. When I RETURNED asking them to fix them and even them out it was a huge problem. I had FIVE of them approach me and hover over me in the seat. They all left their customers to come and stare at my hands. Finally the girl got up and left and the owners husband was called in to take care of my nails. They told me I was wrong and the nails were fine. I will not be back again. read more

First time customer and extremely satisfied. The place is clean with all new massage pedi/chairs and manicure stations. The staff are very friendly and professional. It was one of the best pedicures I've had - here's the deal: I garden in my barefeet and my feet get really dirty. When I left the salon, there was not one spot of dirt under my toenails and my feet felt as soft as a ....you know the rest. Just left there, and I was really disappointed. I went in there after I booked and appointment, and got in right away which was great! However, I wanted a three color combination. I asked her for my thumbs to be a black color, my ring finger a shimmer, and my other nails a grey. She ensured me she understood and told me to was my hands. I'm watching the tv and not paying any mind and then I look down, and she painted all my nails black, with my ring finger a shimmer. I have a pale complexion, so I am so just so aggravated because it looks awful. I was so excited to get my nails done because I never do anything for myself and of course I have a horrible experience. I would of told her but she was talking to another coworker next to her, and I felt rushed out of there. Now I've had many manicures in the past, and never have I ever been in and out within 15 minutes. And not only did she rush, and mess up my color, but the paint job was horrible. BEWARE!!! ENTER THIS SALON AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you decide on making an appointment, its equivalent to not even making one at all because the very FIRST time I ever came after making an appointment 4 hours in advanced ended up waiting 40 minutes just for a full set. Too bad the the wait was the least of the problems, my nails were crooked and uneven but that was manageable because I could have just fixed it when I got home. Yet to anyone else, why pay for something that you didn't want? The place was dusty when I went, and i was confused because reading some over reviews they said the place was clean. NO. However, the biggest reason why I'm writing this review is because IT IS NOT CLEAN. I got my full set 4 months ago, and the very next day I experienced itching, and peeling of the skin and right away took the full sets off. Thought it may have been an allergic reaction which would have been strange because of 10 years never had a problem. My skin, started turning white, flaky and extremely sore because it was peeling away to just pure flesh. Went to the doctors, to find out I had severe fungus and is still suffering from it to this day! Be careful, a $30 full set costed me much more than a bad paint job job and crooked nail, it left me trips to the doctor and fungus that STILL has not went away. When I called back to tell them what happened, they weren't very understanding. If a salon's implements aren't sterilized, and properly cleaned before you sit down in that chair.. RUN. Just wanting to warn people for the near future. Bring your own tools if you need too!!! It's just not worth it... read more

I had my first pedicure in three years. I stopped at Queen Bee because I had been there in the past however I was wondering if it would be like an experience I had before. A long wait, which is fine but I was hoping it would be cleaner than previously. Nope, no difference. I decided to stay because it's the holiday weekend and they were available. Honestly, I thought how bad could it be? I sat in the chair and a woman came over and started the water. I was having a nice conversation with the woman next to me and was not paying attention....the woman asked me to put my feet in which I did one at a time. Thank god I did!! I put my left foot in the water and all I felt was scoldng hot water. I took it out quickly and my foot was bright red. As the manager walked by I told her I did not want that particular woman to touch me and I told her why. She said something to the woman(could not understand) and when I looked over at tht woman she actually had a big smile on her face. I looked at her and told her it was not at all funny. The manager did my pedicure. I told her I was not putting my feet back in the water. She tried to make small talk as if it didnt happen which pissed me off more. So here I am. To top it all off, the manage/ownerr charged me full price after such a horrific experience She charged me 25.00 for a pedicure and a scorched foot. The woman next to me mentioned that same woman had cut her cuticle so short it had actually bled even after she left. Shame on this business allowing that woman to continue to harm the customers. She has no business being there. So disappointed in management/ owners. At minimum they should have done it for free with a much bigger apology and an apology from that woman who did it. Not only will I never go back, I will be posting this on Facebook! If you own your own business, THEN OWN IT!!!! Shame on management. DO NOT GO TO QUEEN BEE ON CHELMSFORD STREET. My friend went in to get acrylics and the ladies in there laughed in his face. Anyone should be able to get whatever they want if they're paying for it and should not be judged. It was a horrible experience for him and they did an awful job. I've told everyone I know that goes to nail salons to never go there. That behavior should not be supported. read more

This was second time there and sadly it WILL be my last. There was trash and stains everywhere. The ventilation was poor so the chemical smell was thick. As for my nails, I was cut, deep and had polish spilt on me . My stylist was sweet but not very well trained. read more

I prefer this salon to all others I have visited in this area. The salon is clean and the service is friendly, thorough and professional. The high quality of acrylics and their attention to detail keeps me coming back. The nail service from Kim is great and consistent. I started getting 'pink and white' acrylic nails here after seeing a coworker's and asking where she went. My favorite thing about the pink/white nails at Queen Bee is the choice of powder colors for the pink. They offer clear, very light, light, medium, dark and very dark pink powders. If you have drill or file marks on your nail beds, the darker pinks are great at hiding them. I always go for the very dark as I love the contrasting look with the white and cannot find it in other nail salons. They are gentle with the drills and do not cut into the nail bed and leave marks. (I have found this to be a problem at many other salons.) The pedicures can be hit or miss depending on the cosmetician so be sure to ask for your favorite. Evenings can be a very busy time for them, so plan ahead if possible with an appointment. On occasion, I have been able to walk in and receive fast service as they can have up to 10 people working. This is a large salon and they know how to provide for their customer base. I no longer work/shop in Chelmsford so I rarely go to Queen Bee and miss it; but do return whenever possible. read more

I love getting my nails and pedicures done here. I get acrylic with gel overlays and they last the longest of any place I've ever been to. I don't make appointments because I think they take you first come , first serve regardless whether you have an appointment or not. Good prices and good color choices. read more

I normally stop in to have my eye brows waxed and shaped by Kim. She's pretty awesome and listens when I tell her I don't want them to be too thin but rather natural and shaped to my face where in other places I've been... I come out looking like I drew on my eye brow! Definitely let her know what you want and don't assume she will magically make you look wonderful because communication goes a long way! Kim takes her time and I always get service when I walk in within 10-15 minutes on a busy day. She always tells me my 5 year old son is so handsome and reminds her of her own little boy so extra points for complimenting the offspring. There are two rooms in the back for facials, waxes and I think massages.. They could be more tidier but overall decent. I haven't used Queen's for my nails since they are always busy during the time I go. I will update my review if I ever do! Cost: $10 eye brow wax Pros: Kim, very nice and personable (wax review). I've been going here for a while, and usually they're pretty good and the nails last. But I went in today to get my nails done. And my hands are two different colors. I got chrome and one hand is really nice and the other looks like dusty grey. She said the that it was like that cause "it was the second hand and it would lighten up". Cleanest nail salon in Lowell area! I've tried almost every salon in the area and I've finally found one I love ! I get acrylic nails . Fills are 15 , 20 for french . They come out perfectly every time . I've had nail techs who leave them crooked or too pointy , but they all know how to shape nails to look natural and even . They'll ask if you want gel on top but aren't pushy like other salons that are constantly asking you to get designs . I usually go during lunch time and Ive only Had to wait for 10 minutes max . My only complaint is they don't have a huge selection of nail polish and haven't gotten any new shades since I've been going . Sometimes I bring my own and that doesn't bother me because the service is great. I've also had an experience with the girl pushing my cuticle back with her sharp nail instead of a cuticle pusher and it cut me but again she was so nice I didn't bother making a big fuss . We had made an appointment for 1130. We arrived on time and picked out colors. They made us wait half an hour before finally taking someone else! They took their 12 o clock appointment all the while we were still waiting. An hour after our scheduled appointment time they started on my friends nails. They dont ask what shape or length you want and the massage consisted of the lady putting lotion on my legs and rubbing it on for less than 3 minutes. We will NOT be returning here. read more

I am very disappointed in this place. I was able to get in right away but I was moved around. One person started me And someone else finished. So I was confused on who to tip, but that wasn't a deal breaker at all. The woman who did my nails, was very sweet, but I could tell she was having a problem or not experienced at all. What was I suppose to say if she was already i the middle of it, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and let her finish. I also thought to myself , well lets giver her a chance just in case the polish last or my nails last. I tipped her well, but 2 days after I had 3 nails fall off . I was on vacation so I couldn't do anything about it. It sucked. As soon as I got back I went back to see if I can get it fix. The owner came and tried to tell me that my nails were weak, I explained to her I have had natural nails for so long ,so It couldn't be that. Then she said my nails were too short, I also explained that the woman who did my nails was the one to cut it short, so? She did fix those nails for me, but ended up cutting me :/. She didn't charge me for them, so that was good. I did not have a great experience here , and i was bummed because it's not that far for me. You win some and you lose some. read more

Great job. I went yesterday and they did an amazing job on my gel French mani and regular pedi. Although in some of my fingers like on my left hand my pointer finger my cubicle is a little bit sore-ish but very beautiful. Together they cost $60 including tip. read more

This place is awesome! Tom is the best. The place is nice and remodeled. They do the best pink and white in town. Everytime I go I dont have to wait very long. Every time I go to Queen Bee, I am treated so nicely, they are quick, and understanding. The last time I was in there, I told them I was in a rush, so they had two people work on me. One on my hands and one on my toes. They got me out of there in 45 minutes and the quality of their work did not waiver, my nails and toes came out perfect and my gel nail lasted longer than two weeks. I love this place! read more
