We purchased a double wall oven, downdraft cook top and dishwasher in November. Ryan was our representative and he was fantastic. Didn't try to up-sell or rush us and walked us through all of our options....pros and cons. Provided our options for delayed delivery as well. He even helped us out when we had difficulty applying for the rebates from the manufacturer. The store was very neat and well laid out. Horrible customer service, dishonest and shady. I have left a dozen voicemails over 2 weeks and not had one call back let alone any semblance of a resolution offer. If I could give negative stars I would. I have never experienced anything like this. I am not a guy to write reviews or be a high maintenance customer, but this next level failure of a retailer. I will be filing in small claims court. Take your business elsewhere! I had the extended warranty on a dryer, belt failed but the warranty tech said that the dryer's bottom was damaged on delivery and he could not repair it. I had the dryer "professionally" delivered and installed by queen city. I made multiple calls, mostly getting voicemails. Eventually, I spoke with 3 different customer service people who shuffled me around. One said she was getting with the warranty company for a second opinion. (I later called the warranty company and they had not had any communications with Queen city. They escalated the matter and attempted to call QC for input and they did not answer or respond to messages.). After a week I went into the store and asked to see the store manager. I spoke with Kyle who acted like he was going to help. He failed to call back after 6 days and 3 messages. I finally caught him answering the phone and he said "they" told him to "step back and let the office manager handle it". He gave me the office manager's number. Several more days, and me leaving a couple voicemails for the office manager and I have not had a reply. I will be spending the $60 to file a small claims case at the county courthouse. Dont trouble yourself with this place, too many retailers who will at least make a half-hearted attempt at a resolution of a problem. read more

I spoke with Kyle, 2/21/2026 to get a dishwasher. I had a $200 gift card I won from them. His first comment "A cheap dishwasher." I was replacing with the same brand that worked for 20 years. I gave him my credit card. I also made a doctor appointment. The doctor appt. will be relevant shortly. Well, I was expecting the delivery the following day. No call, no dishwasher. I had to call to find out that he had not run my cc, nor scheduled me for a delivery. Had to cancel the doctor appt. Made another doctor appt. Had to cancel that, because finally was going to get my dishwasher. Kyle said he would give me a discount because he messed up. I called him, found out be was ill. But he came back to work and did not call. Very unprofessional. Had to wait a week to get in to see my doctor.No call back, no discount. Horrible delivery service! I had a custom fridge and they were awful - wouldn't install the trim kit that was very expensive and said the contractor would understand why. My contractor absolutely didn't agree and we all had to wait for them to return. They walked into my home. Never acknowledged me as the homeowner and then walked out - never saying a word to me other than "you're missing screws." They left without cleaning all the sticky surface from the kit and it looked like complete garbage. I filled out the surgery - someone called and said "we will call tomorrow to fix this." Obviously, they didn't call back. I called to speak to the supervisor - that was the person that did the work at my house! We have been in Charlotte for nearly 20 years , seeing commercials ads for Queen city appliances. While planning for home renovation our quest for appliances, we decided to go to Queen cityHomeStore. The showroom was amazing great layout with lots of unfamiliar and popular manufacturer brands. The showroom was exquisite. Countertop, grills, appliances and TVs. Prices range from competitive to high end tags. The store was surprisingly huge housing an outlet center in the rear. We found the Café brand we were in search of. However, the customer service was utterly unwelcoming and unconcerned of your presence. I thought maybe they were light staff being a Sunday. No one greeted as entered. And when checking out the appliances and employee and a customer walked by. The customer spoke, but the employee didn't say anything, looking past us. Two strike. We decided to leave. As we are walking out, the client randomly asked about the employee customer service noticing they didn't say anything to us coming or going. If going to spend my money any I need customer service from start to finish. Good luck Queen City. read more

The oven they installed did not work and they would not take it back or replace it. They did not properly test the oven at installation and the oven would not stop cooling. They agreed something was broken, but I had to call a maintenance company to come repair it. When I said I did not want to do that, then they suggested I just keep the broken oven! read more

I need to buy a refrigerator today- Lowes and Home Depot were no help- I called to speak with a knowledgeable salesperson to find out about specs on the fridge I want- see if it will fit through my kitchen door. Kyle told me he didn't have time to deal with a phone customer he had customers in the store-- I wonder if all of those face-to-face folks bought and paid for a fridge today. After the experience that I have had with Queen City over my purchase, I would suggest staying away. The customer service department is not helpful, and I had to make numerous phone calls to get anything done. We had the first appliance installed in Mid-January and it lasted less than 2 weeks. I had to put the pressure on Queen City to get a new one installed. When the second appliance was installed, the install team realized that the first appliance was installed damaged. When the second appliance was installed, the installers rushed and damaged my countertops and the new appliance. Instead of Queen City offering to fix it, they pushed it to the appliance manufacture to fix even though Queen City did the damage. It has been over 2 months, and my countertop is still not fixed and the appliance remains unrepaired. Queen City customer service will not call you unless you call them. They have not followed up to see if my appliance has been repaired. The customer service at Queen City tells me that I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

I went to the Pineville store and I can't say enough what a good experience it was. The sales staff are friendly and very helpful. Delivery was above and beyond. Trey and his coworker made sure they brought in my kitchen appliances carefully and installed them with no issues. They even showed me how to use a few things. Great job!! We bought a complete Whirlpool kitchen appliance set, which included refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal December 7th, 2024, The delivery on December 9th, 2024 was the worst ever, the delivery people were to remove my existing $1,498.00 LG refrigerator (manufacture date 2018.5, yes it had .5 for on label in refrigerator) from my kitchen to the garage. In the process of moving my 6-year-old refrigerator which was in immaculate condition mechanically and cosmetically, which I had sold for $500, was no longer once Queen city delivery got a hold of it. They scratched the front of refrigerator in two separate places horribly and tore chucks out of my front door frame, along with stripping paint and wood: while forcibly moving the refrigerator the wrong way out my front door to the garage. So, there went my $500 I had planned on putting toward my new purchases. Not only did they destroy the refrigerator cosmetically but damaged my front door frame as well. The new refrigerator is a side by side and was delivered and installed with very noticeable uneven front doors and inside plastic light coverings broken and hanging. So, first day of delivery they were kind enough to damage my very nice and sold for $500.00 LG 6-year-old $1,500.00 refrigerator, front door frame and damaged parts on new refrigerator. Then for some reason, the delivery people were unable to install my new dishwasher on that day and had to return on the 10th to install new dishwasher, which they kindly made a fist size hole under my kitchen sink while doing so, I was in bed very sick that second day, they returned to install dishwasher. We had left all under sink items out on counters for we knew they were returning to install dishwasher. I said to my husband well that hole was not there the day before, which my husband agreed, it was not. Then my husband proceeded to tell me the delivery guy that came to install dishwasher told him an animal must have come in my house overnight and made that hole. He also told me he heard him lose grip on drill and made very loud noise and the hole was not there just half hour prior to him coming to install dishwasher. I contacted my salesperson there at Queen City, left message on his phone and shortly thereafter, I did receive a call from their partner delivery company. I was not only very sick in December, but had an awful stroke in January, which caused blindness, inability to walk, talk and communicate for months. By the grace of God, I began regaining my abilities to talk and communicate late March, so in April I called, went by in person and even with pictures, yes dated 12/09/24 and notified them within days of all, to date no resolution. So, it is so sad, that a 64-year-old disabled woman has to file a claim against them in smalls claims court is the only way I shall have any resolve. Also, I am also filing a complaint against them with the BBB, which has several unresolved complaints against them. The CEO, whom I left message for has his very young secretary handle for him, which is a joke in itself and her text to me, I can't wait to submit in small claims court. The lady named Sam over their customer service has been nothing but rude to me, very disrespectful and even called me a liar, which I have pictures, voicemails and more to prove truthfulness. I am also filing complaint with the consumer protection agency in Washington, DC. Stay as far away from this company unless you want to deal with damages to your home, property and yourself. read more

As I said, had a lot of respect for that success and had been a long time repeat customer at Queen City. My family had been a long time repeat customer of Queen City. In large part out of respect for the Player family and all that you were able to build and then rebuild in our area. But good grief! No longer!! I recently went to your Charlotte store and selected 6 major appliances for purchase. I left with the understanding it was just a matter of running the numbers and setting the delivery date but things fell apart from there. I do believe the sales rep tried his best and we were literally almost there in closing the sale when the store manager Kyle Field got involved and was incredibly disrespectfu and dismissive and basically told me in no uncertain certain I'm perfectly fine with loosing this sale. Now, my you, the sales rep had worked on the prices and I had been overall very happy with that part of the process but I did point out some areas in which a few things that would help "seal the deal" so to speak and that is when he brought in store manager Kyle Field who was perfectly horrible! He made it very clear that Queen City, and the Player family, neither wanted nor needed my little amount of business and that they'd do just fine without it. My amount of business was a little amount. It was to be a $19,000 purchase. (Which I ended up getting for $17,740 in Hickory! Yay!) but the price wasn't the issue, I'd have paid twice that if needed to not purchase from Kyle Field! And I'd have gladly paid Queen City more than that if they'd merely realized that while that kind a money is not a lot compared to some of their sales, it is a lot to me and, again, to all your other long term customers whos backs the Player family built their empire on!!!! Tried to order a Samsung 85" TV on January 21, 2025. Per the salesman the TV was currently not in stock and would take approximately 2 weeks to arrive. I agreed...On two ocassions I got a call from Queen City Delivery notifying me that the TV would be delivered on a particular day but was disappointed each time. There appears to be a disconnect between the sales staff and the delivery office...because the day after the delivery dept would call the salesperson would send me an excuse email saying that it would be a few more days. On February 8, 2025 I decided to cancel. At this point it had been 18 days and my patience had completely ran out. I was so disappointed but mostly upset because I had invited several people over to watch the Super Bowl game. I will never ever try and purchase from Queen City Home Store again! Why display items on your website that you don't have or can't get...that is so misleading! I feel that I should have gotten a call from the owner or some type of discount on future purchases. It's sad, this company has gone downhill so much over the last few years. I used to go with them vs the big box stores because of the service. They have totally lost that advantage now. I predict they will be out of business in the next few years so I'd be very careful buying from them with their warranties. My experience was having a washer and dryer delivered. They arrive at 10 pm, no calls or time window so we just have to be ready at any point on the delivery date. When the arrive the driver looks around and pulls me aside to say can they just put them in the garage. His partner is on limited duty due to surgery and can't carry anything over 20 lbs, so there's no way they can get them up the steps to the laundry room. I didn't even get into why they have an employee working delivering washers and dryers that can't lift 20lbs. What could I do? I said yes. So the dump them in my garage and leave. No one called me today to reschedule or apologize for the trouble. I called and they say maybe 3 days someone can come out. Still no clue what the resolution is. Do yourself a favor and find the same appliances elsewhere, most likely cheaper, and with better customer service. Updated 9/10: Another day has passed since my initial review. Still being totally ignored by the warehouse and sales staff. Now attempting to connect with CEO and Head of Operations on LinkedIn. I have a text thread that I'm going to share with them. The big box stores were out of stock for white dishwashers and they didn't know when they were coming back in. I called Queen City. The sales guy helped me check out in stock options. They delivered in days, on a Saturday. When they hooked up the new dishwasher there was no power. Not their fault. They weren't able to test the dishwasher. After I got the electrical fixed, they were out in just days to level up the dishwasher, check all the connections and make sure that it was working properly. Overall an excellent experience. I believe I will be buying all of my appliances at Queen city from now on. And the prices were comparable to the big box stores. All around a very good experience. read more

We wanted something fairly quickly and we were pleasantly surprised that they had multiple items in stock that could be delivered within a week. Our salesperson Bob was very knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered set up and removal of our old appliances as well. We were in and out of the building within an hour which was great. Once delivery day came they're was a bit of an issue with the installation of the dishwasher but after a call to the store it was quickly remedied. All in all a very good experience. Let me start this by saying we have had a really hard time getting our hands on our appliances for our redone kitchen. We initially worked with Plaza Appliances and had a pretty negative experience - they had scheduled a delivery date and on that day my husband called for status of delivery and was told the appliance that had been scheduled for delivery by our salesperson was not our appliance. Since then it had been impossible to get an accurate estimation of when our appliance would come - they gave us a 3/1 delivery date that came and went and then we were told they didn't know when we would have our appliance delivered to us. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I prefer my delivery dates in the future. Enter Queen City. I had gotten so fed up with the runaround and lack of effort to even find my appliance that I started calling around to find my model somewhere else. I called Robbie at Queen City last Thursday and asked if they had a floor model of my range and sure enough they had one in stock and ready to deliver along with the dishwasher we needed. Robbie stayed a little late to get everything squared away and assured my delivery by Tuesday - which was confirmed in a couple different methods the day before. Admittedly I'm a bit paranoid after my first experience, so that guarantee was really appreciated. The delivery staff were very friendly and professional to work with and made sure installation went smooth - and didn't take too much time at all. Robbie even called to make sure all had went well. Frustrated and disappointed are understatements. I visited this establishment on Monday June 8th to purchase a refrigerator. They had it in stock so I scheduled install date of Thursday June 11th for AM time slot since I worked at 3:00 pm that day. I was told they would arrive by 1:00 PM, install should take no more than an hour. Well 1:00 PM rolled around and no truck. I call to find out the status and I'm told they are running behind and the would make me the next stop however they have to travel from Hickory NC. Now the common courtesy thing to do would be call your customers in advance to explain what is going on. The truck showed up to my house around 5:00 PM upon opening the packaging for the second ice maker they noticed it was damaged from the manufacture so it could not be installed. Saturday June 13 at 8:43 PM I receive a call from the delivery team wanting to set up an appointment to install the ice maker. I settled on Thursday June 18th PM install meaning after 1:00 PM so I take the day off. I'm sure you can see where this is going... they never showed up nor a simple phone call. I call the office Friday June 19th to only get the run around saying that I was not scheduled for install on the 18th it was for the 11th so they don't know what has happened and they would call me back. So I wait and wait for a phone call and finally at 9:00 PM I receive a call that he truly doesn't know what happened however we could just schedule an appointment. I select Tuesday June 23 AM as the new time. I have not seen anyone as of 11:45 AM so I call to make sure they are in route. To only be told by someone that answered the phone I am not on the schedule for today. I then say let me speak to Robbie whom I spoke to Friday night. She transferred me to a driver in the field who said I don't know why you were transferred to me and hung up. Robbie called me back to say I've got a guy that can get it installed today then asked if I had the ice maker in my possession. Honestly this is exhausting and as each minute goes on I'm getting more and more upset. If you are a company that schedules things the system should be universal so everyone in the company knows what is going on. Your managers or corporate team should really listen when contacted and stop making excuses. I just want what I paid you for. If at any point during the sale I was told that you couldn't do something I would've taken my business elsewhere. So as I sit here writing this it's 12:4 PM and that manager that said he would call me back within 15 minutes has not called. So here goes another day that this will not be installed. I am not the type to complete surveys as you can see this is my first survey completed on Yelp. My goal is to bring awareness to other shoppers about this establishment as well as bring awareness to the higher execs that a there is a serious disconnect operationally with your company. read more

Don't shop here- they don't need your money. I went to Queen City Drive store to purchase a refrigerator that I saw online that they "had in stock". Upon arrival, I entered and saw no less than 8 employees sitting at desks with computers in the front of the store. No one acknowledged me until I stopped in my footsteps looking around. An employee at the front desk (while on phone), said "Can I help you find something?". I said, yes, please I am here to look at refrigerators. He pointed to his right and said all the way to the end on the left. So, I ventured on my own and luckily found a wall of refrigerators, including the refrigerator I wanted. Fifteen minutes later, no one came to check on me or offer any assistance. I decided to leave as I don't beg people to take my cash. Upon leaving, NO ONE acknowledged me. I purchased my refrigerator at another store -$3200. They obviously do not need the income/ profits here , so I am saving you the time. Don't shop here. We purchased a washer/dryer and refrigerator from Queen City Appliances for our new home. The purchasing process went very smoothly and we scheduled the delivery several months in advance to ensure we would have our appliances in time. The experience and service were great until it came to delivery. On the day of the scheduled delivery I was told they would arrive between 1PM-5PM. When 4:30PM rolled around I called to see where they were. I was told they were on their 6th delivery and we were the 8th. We were not moved into our house yet and could not spend the night there, but we waited until they arrived. 7PM came around and they still hadn't shown. I was unable to get in touch with anyone at Queen City for an update. By 7:45 we left to stay the night in our apartment. I then received a call around 8PM that the driver was on the way. We came back to the house and met the driver. Although frustrating we were glad that it would be delivered and done with. He then proceeded to tell us that he didn't have the straps/equipment to get the appliances up the stairs. A full day of delivering appliances and they didn't have the right equipment? We had explained to the salesperson at the time of purchase exactly how many flights of stairs and the location of each appliance, so this was not a surprise. They left and told us they would be back tomorrow. We explained that we would be moving the next day and we needed to be the first delivery so we could have someone present. They did not arrive until early afternoon. They got the washer and dryer upstairs and then said they would need to get another person to carry the fridge. They left and came back with another guy to help with the fridge. It wasn't until late afternoon until they came back, meanwhile we had to be back and forth assisting our moving crew. Once they finally had 3 people to assist with the fridge they got it up the stairs, but not without scratching/denting the new hardwood floors and walls. They took the fridge out of the cardboard packaging so each time it hit the floor/walls it left damage. They did not bring any protection to prevent damage. This has by far been the absolute worst service I have ever received from a company. It was a hassle to contact customer service to file a claim. I have still not received any resolution. Not only did we not receive our delivery on the day that was scheduled months in advance, but they damaged our house in the process and had zero communication throughout the process. The driver called twice and said they were on our way with our refrigerator. Now they say there's been "a mixup." We were supposed to have it delivered sometime after 1PM!!! We have our refrigerator completely unloaded and have been waiting all day AND NIGHT for arrival . The owner wrote back and said they had "resolved the issues." He is a liar. My husband and me have never bought a washer and dryer before and we were recommended to come here by family. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and helped. We knew we wanted a top-load washer and wanted to be as little money as possible. Our sales associate had to of run 10 different prices of washer and dryer combos with tax for us. We would find one in the "scratch and dent" section, and one new one. We finally decided and ended up with an upgraded dryer from the scratch and dent section, and a new washer that matches. We saved so much money coming here. Our dryer was originally $800, which we got for $499. Our washer was also $499 brand new. They shipped and installed to our house for free. I needed to replaced the dishwasher. My Property Manager actually picked it out. The staff is so helpful. Work weekends, send reminders, follow ups. The delivery gentlemen amazing. Polite, kind, fast No mess, they removed the old one, showed me how to use it. This thing cleans items I've soaked, scrubbed & everything! My only complaint is the delivery times got confused. I have waited to write this review because I had hoped that the problems we are having with the Maytag front load washer we purchased from Queen City would be resolved by now, but they have not. We have had ongoing issues since we bought the washing machine in the beginning of March. Queen City did request service from Advanced Appliances, the company they use for repairs, but after five trips to our house, nothing was resolved and the repairman who was sent was unsympathetic and rude. We finally called the company that makes Maytag washers and they sent a repairman. He was very knowledgeable and was very familiar with the problems we are having. The washing machine shakes so much and so loudly during the spin cycle that it can be heard and felt throughout the house, and because of the shaking, the machine was shimmying across the floor. My husband found some rubber cups that we placed under the feet and the machine doesn't "walk" across the floor now, but it still shakes violently. Also, the spin cycle is inefficient and we always have to put laundry loads through a 2nd "drain and spin" cycle. According to the Maytag repairman, the problem is that the machine is poorly engineered, and he is encountering these same problems with many other people. The bottom line is that we seem to be stuck with a $1000 machine that is a total disappointment! The question is who should be responsible for the malfunctioning washing machine? Should it be Queen City for not backing the products they sell, or should it be Maytag for producing poorly made machines, or should the responsibility lie with both? Queen City has stopped calling to see if the problems have been resolved in the hopes, I'm sure, that we will just give up and live with the very disappointing and unsatisfactory appliance. read more

I recently bought a brand new 1200 kitchenaide dishwasher from Queen City . This was my first time buying from them an my last !! I purchased my dish washer on July 3rd. The company Queen City hired was able to deliver it about 3 days later. The 2 guys installed it an immediately found a problem. It was not functioning correctly . They called someone to help an convinced me it worked not to mention they chipped my counter top I tried it a few days later an It would not work called the install company they sent a guy a week later. He tells me there is a broken part . He would order it an come back another day. Another week later he comes back an the part he ordered was broke an he found some wires that were broke. So it was install BROKE than repair guy Twice an now a third time. I called their customer service spoke to a lady who said she would get with the install n repair person an call ,pen back. So a week an half later NO Call ! I call back to Custer service for the second time an spoke to a different lady. Told her what has happened an she told me the same thing she would call the repair company an get back with me. Again over a week an no answer from Queen City. I called the store in Pineville I purchased it from. Here is their answer so they can't replace it until customer service tells them there can be an exchange It gets even better on a brand new appliance they have to do at least 3 repairs before they will exchange it!!! So I am expected to keep a 1200 dishwasher that by the way I have now had for 30 days that does not work! I have to take time out of my busy day on Monday to call their customer service again As of right now do not purchase appliances from Queen City save your time & money go else where. read more

I was looking online at a new stove, ours crapped out, and sent a chat to Queen City Appliance, I was immediately Texted by one of their associates and was told the stove I was looking at was available and could be deilvered by Friday (this was a Wednesday). I was not sure about the type of cord I needed, and they were able to help with that too. I ordered the stove and received a phone call from an associate explaining the process. I received an email confirming my order and delivery. The night before I received a text with a 4 hour delivery window, and the day of I got a call from the delivery people that they were 30 minutes out. Luckily they brought 2 different cords as the one I said was wrong. They were very professional, took the old and set up the new to include setting the clock. I recommend them to all. read more

Purchased several major appliances with warranty for all of them. Fridge broke in 3 month. Called the store and apparently is done through the third party. That company send the repairman and was told that new part need to be ordered. After waiting for the part for more then a month fridge completely breakdown and warranty company not responding....
