Firstly, I apologize for my late review. I was there early May. If you are on the fence on going, get off it. if it's "too far", get off it. This was exactly the experience I expected and wanted and needed. We came in our own crowns, and I'm honestly a little regretful because they have a whole collection of appropriate crowns, hats, and headbands to enjoy your tea as you should. The teas, The Teas! so many to choose from. You can smell them before and decide on 2. so beautifully presented in the most adorable of tea cups. In fact, a whole cubby room of tea sets to see! And the menu is delectable. I don't know if the menu changes, but as of this posting, it is the same I had. I won't say there was a stand out dish; It's a stand out experience! I guess my complaint is I couldn't finish it there, enjoying these unique surroundings; but in the other hand, plenty to enjoy later at home. I need to mention our hostess, certainly Fae- (I'm so sorry I've forgotten your name)- a flittering, fluttering bright spot to the day. Hare, Hatter, Caterpillar in one. I might have imagined her but there every step of the way to let us know what was happening, explain anything that needed to be explained and what was next. Of course it ends with a photo shoot on a throne with props! The little store is adorable and sells the teas and fancy tea thingies. it's always hard to tell how big a space is, and it is fairly small, but perfect for any high tea birthday, girl's day out, club meeting lunch, just because. You pay when you reserve because the food is prepared fresh to your reservation. My biggest regret is not stopping Chef as she passed through to say hello and thank you. Thank you, Chef, you and Fae, for an absolutely lovely experience. This was my third visit specifically to evaluate the afternoon tea service, and I approached it with a simple standard: in afternoon tea, the tea and food should carry the experience, not just the theme or décor. After three visits, certain patterns become clear. The service was attentive throughout, with staff checking in frequently without being intrusive. The décor is visually distinctive and cohesive if you specifically enjoy the Alice-in-Wonderland aesthetic. The highlight of the food was the scones, which were genuinely excellent. They were balanced, flavorful, and structured well enough to stand on their own without jam or cream. In fact, they carried much of the experience -- and they're good enough that I'd happily continue ordering the scones to go on their own even if I didn't return for the full afternoon tea service. The tea itself had a calibration problem. Instead of brewing leaves directly in the pot or using a proper infuser, the tea was placed in a small strainer that required pouring hot water over the leaves into the cup. With relatively little leaf for the size of the pot, this setup restricts how the leaves expand and limits proper extraction. This is fundamentally a brewing-method issue rather than a tea-type issue -- regardless of whether the tea is black, green, or oolong, leaves need space to open and steep within the vessel rather than being constrained in a small strainer. As a result, the teas never fully developed the depth they should have. My first tea, a Ceylon blend I brew at home, tasted mostly like fragrance during the early pours because aromatic flavorings extract quickly while the tea body does not. It took several cups before the tea flavor came through, and by the fourth cup the leaves were already weakening. The second tea, an oolong, performed better but still felt borderline in terms of leaf quantity relative to the pot size. The savory items relied largely on simple assembly rather than distinctive preparation. The cucumber sandwich used fresh cucumber, but the rye toast was dry and had the uniform crumb and texture typical of commercially sliced rye rather than a freshly prepared or house-baked bread. The turkey sandwich used deli-style sliced turkey rather than roasted or carved turkey as the description implies, with pepper jack providing most of the flavor. The egg sandwich showed the eggs were hand-chopped rather than fully mashed, but the paprika functioned mainly as decoration rather than seasoning. Even the pasta salad tasted closer to a deli-style side dish than something composed specifically for an afternoon tea service. The dessert tier was where the experience weakened the most. In a traditional afternoon tea, this tier is typically where the pastry program showcases technique and variety. Nearly half the desserts were cookies, which already limits pastry variety. Several had a dense crumb with little visible butter structure, producing the dry texture typical of lower-butter cookie dough. The lemon cream puff had a soft, compressed shell rather than the light hollow structure expected from proper choux pastry, suggesting it had likely been frozen and reheated. The filling lacked the richness and eggy depth of pastry cream and instead tasted very sweet with a flat citrus profile closer to stabilized lemon filling. The chocolate mousse was dense and overly sweet, lacking the airy texture and bittersweet balance typical of mousse. The fruit tart was acceptable mainly because the berries were fresh, but the shell had the uniform crunch typical of a pre-made tart shell rather than hand-formed pastry. An afternoon tea service typically highlights a pastry program, so relying heavily on cookies makes the dessert tier feel limited rather than curated. A final inconsistency appears when the afternoon tea service is ordered to go: the tea provided is commercial tea bags rather than the loose-leaf tea used in the dining room. The contrast with the excellent scones makes the rest of the menu more puzzling. They clearly show the kitchen is capable of much stronger execution. If the same care applied to the scones were extended to the tea setup, savory items, and desserts, the entire afternoon tea service could be dramatically stronger. In conclusion, the afternoon tea program falls far short of what the experience promises. The tea setup prevents proper extraction, the savory items rely on basic deli-style assembly rather than thoughtful preparation, and the dessert tier lacks the technique and range expected of afternoon tea. Good service can support a strong food program, but it can't replace one. When most components fail to meet the standard the concept implies, the experience does not justify the price. The server was super kind and took a bunch of pictures for my mom and I!! I love that the place allows you TWO tea options not just one. The scones are always hot and fresh. This place is cute! We had a group of 10 and were comfortably seated with beautiful plates and tea cups at each plate setting. We chose the High Tea Vegas Style which pretty much comes with everything! It was all so good! For tea, I chose 2 floral teas named white peony and rose. It was so good with a little sugar cube from the sugar container that had dice design on it. The scones were warm and came with jams and clotted cream. Marie and Angela are the epitome of customer service and creating an immersive experience. We had a great customized tea time with our party of 6! 2/3 of our group are first timers to Vegas. This is off the strip and we just happened to have a private time in the shop. Marie took exquisite care of us and served warm scones with clotted cream and jam, two choices of tea, cold bottled water in a glass and a triple tower of treats. It's reservations only so we able to put our allergy requirements ahead of time. The place is small and beautifully decorated, which matters to me. Honestly I didn't know what to expect. I've never been to an official tea party at a restaurant before but it beat all my expectations. Chef Angela does an amazing job of explaining all the teas (so much variety), the food and creaminess of some of them and the whole experience was amazing. She first took our orders for tea (was able to get 2) and she gave out some great ideas if you don't know what to get like me. Then warm freshly baked scones (sweet and savory) came out with 2 different types of jams and clotted cream which I've never had in my life but it was delicious. Sandwiches and little desserts came out in the tray. Honestly I was pretty full from the scones and I hardly had room for anything else. What a magical little tearoom! We were greeted by the owner/chef Angela Sweetser and our server/tour guide Ellie, who showed us around the delightfully whimsical premises. Every place you look is a photo-op and you get to sit in the middle of it all. Everyone gets a choice of two different teas (and you won't find a tea bag anywhere in sight). A first course of scones arrive with lttle pots of clotted cream, orange marmalade, and strawberry jam. Then, your tier of savories and sweets arrives and you are introduced to them all. Start at the bottom and work your way up. The wonderful Ellie checked on us frequently as did Chef Angela. Love this place. This was the second time I went and this time was for my daughters 25th bday. My son, daughter, husband, and I all had a great time. The food is fantastic and the tea is yummy. My youngest was getting his wiggles out and the owner came out to laugh about it. He can be a handful. The care they put into their craft is incredible. I've been to a few other tea places and none compare. My daughter has an atypical food allergy and they took great care to make sure the ingredient was not served to her and even provided alternatives which was super sweet, literally. Their tea menu also lists their ingredients so we knew what she could have. No epi pen needed. The server was really nice & knowledgeable and even brought my son a steeper to put in his apple juice! We had a lot of fun. A cute little place with fancy table settings. Fun decor and great service. You have to have a reservation because it's so small and tailored for small parties. My sisters, niece, and I brought my mom for her birthday. They have a book of teas to choose from and they also have the little jars of tea so you can smell it before you order it. I love to find tea houses when I travel. I was accompanying my husband to Las Vegas who was there for a conference. Queen of Hearts was one of the few who was open on Tuesday and they were well worth it. The chef and her server were wonderfully cheerful, fun and welcoming. The decor is very "Alice Through the Looking Glass" and they have headpieces and hats you can wear during your tea or after for a photo shoot. You can feel comfortable wearing whatever (as long as you do wear clothes). The food is made fresh and based on the reservations (which is why you have to prepay) and was absolutely delicious. They even made the sugar cubes look like dice. the teas are blended there and you can look at your choices before deciding which two you will have over the course of your time. What an adorable tea shop in Henderson! If I could give Queen of Hearts 100 stars, I would. I treated my mom to an afternoon tea date on 7/14/24 at 2:00pm. Reservations are required (book online or by phone) and booking one is very simple. You just enter your name, phone number, email address, your choice of a traditional or vegan menu, and reason for visit. After you book online, you will get a confirmation saying that your booking is complete and that they will get back to you. You will be able to pay in advance, so they will contact you and ask for your payment information. When we walked in, we were greeted by a cute Alice in Wonderland-style ambiance and some very friendly ladies working there. Before we were guided to our table, we were given a short tour of the place, which took about a minute or two. We were shown a small kitchen, a room with wearable hats and sunglasses that are perfect to post on the Gram, and finally, the bathroom. Afterwards, we were guided to our table, where a nice, little welcome sign with my name on it was placed. Our course started with several herbal tea choices. For our first tea course, I chose a cranberry orange herbal tea and my mom had a vanilla apple herbal tea. The cranberry orange tea was absolutely delicious, but I think it had more of that cranberry flavor than that orange flavor. I think I had about three cups of this before it was time for the second tea course. My mom said that the vanilla apple tea was amazing. As I'm that someone that has never really drank tea in their life, I think I've now opened a palate door for this specific type of drink. Next up was the food course. We were given several different food choices, mainly scones and lunch items. We were given two scones each, which were sweet and savory. The sweet scones had chocolate chip and cranberry pieces inside, while the savory scones, called apricot rosemary, kind of had the texture and taste of cheesy bread. Numerous spreads were also offered, such as jelly, marmalade, and clotted cream. Afterwards, we were given plates of lunch items and other dessert items. Here, their selections were roasted turkey & pepperjack sandwich, where the bread was shaped like playing cards, egg salad with paprika sprinkled on toast, cucumber and herb cheese, and Mediterranean pasta salad. I tried the turkey & pepperjack sandwich and the egg salad and both were magnificent. My mom also had the egg salad and tried the cucumber and herb cheese, commenting that these were excellent lunch options for her. Afterwards, we were given a ton of yummy desserts, such as a berry tart, a chocolate mousse cup, a cream puff shaped like a rabbit, checkerboard squares, a Sin City kiss that melts in your mouth, playing card cookies, and a raspberry spritz. I actually had to take some of these home with me because I was already full from their lunch items. We were then ready for our second tea course, where this time I had a tea that had a Hawaiian name to it, unfortunately I don't remember the name, and my mom had the Mate Latte tea, which had some caffeine in it. Before we left, we decided to have a little fun with their hats and glasses. We took a bunch of pictures with these novelty items on their big red throne located in the back of the shop. Some of these items are also available for purchase if you want one of your own, including stickers and tiny mushrooms. Queen of Hearts is a small tea shop located on Green Valley Parkway near Sunset, just a ways down the street from the Mexican supermarket -- this place specializes in high tea / afternoon tea, and thus you need to make a reservation in advance. For me, I always passed by this place because I'd normally be going to the Codfather nearby whenever I was craving fish and chips. It wasn't until my mother and a work friend of hers asked if I wanted to join them that I got to experience this place for myself. And the wildest part is, I almost passed up the chance -- I was already exhausted from a previous night of dining with family, and considered not showing up because I was too tired to care. The tea shop itself is decorated with all manner of little tea trinkets, props, and decor to immerse you in a tea party fit for Wonderland and the Mad Hatter -- our table had a picture frame filled out with the name of the one who made the reservation. They also have different teas prepared for you in little jars (think the little honey jars that you typically get with tea at a fine dining establishment) that you can pick for your tea service. While you wait for your afternoon tea proper, you're even encouraged to dress up and get pictures at the back of the store, where they have costumes and dress props available for you to get pictures at the Queen of Hearts' throne! RE: the tea service itself, it was amazing -- they bring out scones with clotted cream and jam for the first course, and then the actual proper afternoon tea set for the second, each artfully decorated and tailored to each diner's taste. They even offer vegan options for those who are following the diet! You'd think that the scones or the tea meal itself wouldn't be filling, but surprisingly, it was! As for the food itself, it was EXTRAORDINARY -- I wasn't expecting to like the scones so much! Of the two on offer, my personal favorite was the apricot rosemary -- and then the sandwiches and the desserts that came out with the afternoon tea itself, each of them like jewels and artfully decorated, were all also incredibly good. I think the ones that surprised me the most were the cucumber sandwich -- something so simple, yet surprisingly light -- the white rabbit cream puff, and the chocolate mousse -- the desserts were very tame in their sweetness and paired perfectly with the different teas on offer! During the tea service, the owner, Angela, and one of the servers, Cassandra, would often check on us to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves and made sure that we had everything we needed -- and Angela was even nice enough to get our pictures when we were posing on the Queen of Hearts throne in the back of the store, as well! Needless to say, I'm glad that I went along to the high tea -- this is easily one of the best afternoon tea experiences in town, even rivalling the ones at the Four Seasons on the Strip, and La Postte in Chinatown! (Sorry to the latter; I love you all, but you sometimes have to concede when you find something that easily exceeds your expectations.) Really, do yourself a favor -- if you have the chance to come out to Queen of Hearts, DO IT. You won't regret it. read more
