I did not expect to come in and leave paying over $30 with the tip for coffee and scones. The service was friendly and we did get our drinks quickly. They recently rebranded to Coffee Religion Reading Room and added shelves and shelves of books to the store space. There were several other customers in the store, who were chatting, working, and reading. There was light music playing in the background. My friend and I came here to eat, drink, and read. We were able to accomplish this and spent about 3 hours here. We never felt pressured to hurry or leave. We ordered our food, including a ham and cheese croissant and a smoked salmon sandwich. The food was fresh and delicious. Both of our sandwiches were served with a side of chips that were sprinkled with furikake seasoning. The ham and cheese croissant was a nice savory contrast to the sweet drinks. The smoked salmon sandwich had a bit of a spicy kick. My friend ordered a matcha and really liked it. I had two drinks throughout my visit, including the whipped honey butter latte (which I highly recommend) and the copacabana. I appreciated that the latte was not overly sweet or strong. I could actually taste the flavors versus just tasting the coffee. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We purchased some merchandise including stickers and bags.
