I've always had a great experience here and this time was decent but just not great. I arrived at 7:00am thinking I could be taken in as a walk-in. There were 3 phlebotomists and I believed that since there were only 4 of us that I would be seen before my scheduled 9:30am appointment. It was also urgent that my blood was drawn at around 8:30am because of my doctor's request. Yet, the phlebotomists were yapping really loudly as they prepared for the day and they never quite caught up. They were operating 20 minutes behind schedule and it was quite disappointing. Still, I waited the 2.5hrs and had a great experience once I was taken back. I only had one issue which was how much my insurance was covering but that was easily addressed. I will still come here for all things bloodwork. The team always makes me feel comfortable and seen and heard. read more

They don't care if you make an appointment and if you're a walk in, they will let you sit there all the way until they close and then tell you "sorry they just don't have time" even if you are already checked in. Making an appt online was difficult. I had to try several times to get the date and time I needed. It was difficult to determine which appts were for which locations. My phone doesn't seem to work inside the Randalls on Ben White so I tried several times to check in at the little kiosk. I got pretty frustrated with not having the key pad respond when I tried repeatedly to enter my info. The phlebotomist finally came out and admonished me for not pressing the keys "lightly" like I was a naughty child. She then told me my paperwork wasn't there. Again like I was an idiot. She finally found it. This was the second and last time I will be going to Quest for lab work. read more

Getting blood drawn is not fun but it's something we all must do at some point. I have had good experiences at this Quest Diagnostics location inside the Northcross Walmart on Anderson Lane compared to other high-volume labs I sometimes use. Here's how. Tip 1 - Make an appointment in advance at https://appointment.questdiagnostics.com/ and try to reserve the first slot of the day, 7:30a or 7:40a. This is just after the Walmart opens, so it is not crowded, parking is easy, and you will find almost no one in the large, bright, clean waiting room. Tip 2 - Do all of your pre-check-in tasks at home as early as you can days before your appointment. Upload your insurance card, your ID, your HSA card for payment, and answer all the questions online. Confirm that your provider's lab orders are properly attached to your account. This all makes your actual appointment run much more smoothly and minimizes the amount of time you need to be there. Tip 3 - Install the MyQuest app on your phone and use the QR code at the check-in kiosk when you arrive. It won't be long before your name is called. The phlebotomist will confirm your identity and your provider's name, as well as ask you about your history of problems (if any) for blood draws before taking your samples. YMMV, but I've had no issues with missed veins, etc. If all goes well, you'll be out of there in less than 10 minutes. Depending on the tests ordered, you'll receive results within 2-5 business days through the MyQuest app. If you agreed to receive notifications, you'll also be alerted by text message and/or email. As someone who has had a lot of bloods done at various places, I was shocked how easy this process was at Quest. But firstly, shout out to Erica, the phlebotomist, who helped me today. I have notoriously bad, rolling, tiny veins which make blood draws a painful, drawn out process. Usually I get pinned at least four times and end up fainting. Erica was a pro (she's been doing this 22 years), avoided by scar tissue and got the 5 vials of blood needed like a boss. This is only the second time I've been able to have a blood test sitting up and she nailed it. Outside of the blood test, it was easy to book online, check in via the QR code and the wait time wasn't too insane (20-30 mins at lunchtime). Results in 2-3 days. Not bad. read more

The phlebotomist was great. However, this location is limiting their supply of "butterfly" needles for blood draws and they were out of them when I went for labs. The phlebotomist substituted a needle that she said was the same size but they are NOT the same. The needle is much longer than the butterfly. She did well but the butterfly needle damages the veins less and many people need to have them. This is unacceptable and does not meet standards for health care. Not providing adequate medical supplies does not meet basic protocol, potentially causes damage to already fragile veins and places additional burdens on the staff to meet patient's needs without having the appropriate medical supplies. This is an upper management decision that needs to be corrected immediately. Solve the problem! I will not be returning unless this situation has been resolved. read more

I've been here several times for blood tests and fortunately, it is easy to schedule appointments via their website. They offer many options for times, but keep in mind that they might not have last minute availability if you're trying to schedule within the same day or two. This office is located in a Walmart so it's been nice to have the option to take care of some shopping after my appointments. The check-in process is just a screen in the waiting room which is a little concerning if you have a question and there's no human there. I do appreciate the ability to scan my ID and insurance with the check-in machine. Each time I've been, I'm seen within a minute or two of checking in. The staff are always friendly and fairly quick without being too rushed. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I tried to go to the first location they had listed in Google only to find it was no longer there. You can't call either to find out if a location is there or open. Then I get to the 2nd location off Anderson. The kiosk didn't work properly. I finally got someone to give me an available appointment. I arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule. Then waited over an hour past my allotted appointment time. The phlebotomist blew one of my veins, and finally was able to prick one of my veins and get the blood he needed. I told him before we even started that my veins were not usable up near my elbow, and they had to use a butterfly needle in my hand. He didn't listen he still poked me near the elbow and couldn't find anything. He then blew one of the veins in my hand. Blood went everywhere and he was getting air inside of my hand. I had to pull away so he'd stop. Finally another person stepped in and was able to draw my blood. If you need to get your blood drawn, go somewhere else. read more

Your mileage may vary depending on the day and the employees, but not being able to make an appointment for the next several days due to all slots being filled up in Austin, I tried to walk in. Two hours later, I left without labs. So the first lesson is basically, you're really rolling the dice if you try to walk in at Quest nowadays. Make an appointment. One thing I wanted to mention about this particular location ... there was only one employee working there, and with a full waiting room of walk-ins, she came out to let us know her coworker had not shown up for the day, she was working alone, and it wasn't likely that she would be able to get to the walk-ins. Fine -- I understand, stuff happens. Then about 15 mins. later, another employee walked in (I can only assume it was the no-show coworker), probably clocked in, then walked OUT to grab herself some lunch, casually announced that she'd be "right with y'all." Folks, she was not "right with us." If I were this woman's colleague, I would have been pissed. The upside is that all was not lost. I was able to make an appointment like an hour away in Schertz, and that location was run much more professionally. I hope Quest weeds out some of its employees who don't want to do their jobs. read more

I was so easy getting my lab work done at this location. I was able to schedule online and complete registration online. Arriving all I had to do was scan my QR code and sit in a socially distanced chair. The waiting room is a good size, but being able to see Walmart outside the door is a tad surreal. My phlebotomist was very professional, and I didn't bruise from the draw. This location has convenient hours, even on weekends, so I think I'll come here for future lab work needs. (Besides, I can do some grocery shopping when I walk out the door!) read more

They lost my sample. The day after my appointment I got told that I never showed up to my appointment (which I attended). I've tried so many times to talk to someone online but their online support sucks. Whenever you go make sure you request a receipt of your visit so you have proof that you were there when they lose your sample. read more

as from the other reviews i figured that it was just that one lady didnt know how to draw blood and bruised her arm but when i went in and to see if i was going to be seen by the person who bruised the paitents arm it wasnt her it was someone else i forgot the name just african american lady thats all i remember it seemed like she was drawing the blood fine and everything but when i left i noticed it left a big mark ive never had problems at the hospital or anything so the next day i notice my arm is bruised and now people will think im shooting up heroin especially that im a skinny guy thanks alot!!!!! I was really nervous about getting my blood drawn anyway, but after I read the reviews of this place I was literally scared and considered forfeiting the cost of the blood work just to avoid coming here because I was so scared someone was going to damage one of my precious veins while drawing my blood. Well I'm so glad I came anyway! It was a positive experience. The nurse, who I think is named Jarrell, was so professional and kind. He even made a little joke to help relieve some of the tension in the room because I was about to have a nervous break down at the thought of one of my veins being messed up in any way. (yeah, I'm "one of those" people who freak out about blood.) I barely even felt the needle and it was quick and painless. I'm so relieved. I would 10/10 recommend coming here. I have never been able to talk to an actual person after many phone calls. No way to leave a message by phone or text. Made an appointment 2 days prior for 11:45. Showed up ten minutes early. As soon as started to check in at the kiosk, a belligerent employee told me, "We aren't seeing any more patients today." I told him I had made an appointment and pulled up my phone to show him. "Doesn't matter," he said, "you need to leave. We're closed." And without letting me utter a word he walked off. By this time 4 more patients who had appointments arrived. When the employee returned he spilled the same nonsense to the new people and they left (while complaining how rude this guy was). I refused to leave. I tried to explain again that I had made an appointment and taken time off work to be here. "Not my problem," he said. When asked if they're closed why didn't he or someone call me to reschedule, he replied, "not my job." When asked if he could set me up with another quest facility so I could be seen today he also replied, "not my job." No, your job is to see clients, which you are not doing at all. He then locked the doors, and I was forced to be a "walk-in" in another quest facility. A ten-minute pickup turned into a two-hour delay because this employee refused to do his actual job (while being incredibly rude in the process). I'd rate this with zero stars if I could. The experience was about as pleasant as drinking a gallon of gasoline. To prospective clients, find somewhere else. They do not care about you or care about professionalism. To Quest, you need to replace your staff here with competent people. read more
