Horrible, Don't waste your time for these reasons. Wait time can be up to 5 hrs though the sign in says 30-60 min. Fasting test, forget about it, you can't get in mornings for weeks I had a scheduled appointment for fasting test earliest 12:30 so I decided to get there at 7am as a walk in, sat there for 1 hrs to be told they can't take me because I had a scheduled appointment. I came back another day as a walk in sat for 3hrs to be told it could be 5 hours. No communication, No admin on premise, demanded to speak to someone and they could not help, the picture on the wall of their customer advocate Cindy is fake because you can't contact her. The phlebotomist I spoke to said to call customer service and welcomed it because her teammates often cry because of all of this trouble. Also, I use a company called Functional Health that ordered the 100 lab tests and they need to fix this affiliation or it will affect their business negatively. read more

This place has gone way downhill. I had to come back in a week for a fasting cortisol appt along with other bloodwork. Morning appts are hard to get but I made mine, woke up early, and headed over there despite a migraine for which I could take no medicine. (Fasting) I sat in their overly bright, crowded, smelling of people and sickness lobby with their stupid QUEST tv commercials playing loudly for 25 minutes past my appt time. The woman who saw me was like a robot. Briskly asking me to answer the questions. I explained I had a migraine and wanted to ask he to lower her voice but didn't. She asked if I was fasting I said I was and was looking forward to being able to take my migraine abortive. She drew my blood and had me check the vials and off I went. And you know what test she did not do?! The fasting cortisol. I hate this place. read more

Today 5/29/25 after waiting for 20 minutes one of the technicians took us in, asked if we had the Dr's order. My physician told us she faxed it the day before but the technician kept repeating she don't see the fax, that we need to come back etc super rude super unprofessional! I rushed to the Dr's office got the order and came back and the next technician said a few interesting things such us - I have to ask to my supervisor if we can do this test! - your insurance wants this test to be refrigerated but we cannot do it, - we don't have enough tubes for your test. Employee was rude with no bedside manner. The whole entire environment in there for the 5 minutes we were there was awful. Needless to say we walked out. This place is a Joke. I've been here for 1 hour as a walk-in and they took only 4 people. You can hear them laughing in back having a good time. They had a delivery from Staples and the delivery guy has been knocking on the door for a while now, no one ever answered the door and he just dropped the stuff off on the counter. I'm doing a drug screening to get a job. Looks like i will not be getting this job. Thought LabCrop was BAD, this place is much worse. UPDATE: I checked in as a walk-in just before 11 AM. They finally called me in just after 3 PM, over 4 hours waiting. Because it was after 3 PM she didn't want to take me because they don't take urine samples after 3 PM. by the time I left I was there for a total of 4 hours and 45 minutes. when I was in the back room, they refused to help a lady because she didn't bring her paperwork. She told the person working there that she's on the board of Quest and she thinks it's ridiculous. The lady working there said it's the patients responsibility to bring their paperwork and she didn't care just walked away. Absolutely SHOCKING!!! I love the ladies here! They do such a great job... I know they rotate and I have also had them with my blood draw at the La Jolla location. This review is about the staff only, because the one thing I can't stand about quest is there is no way to communicate with anyone or find out if faxes were received etc. That part of quest I would give 1-2 stars The staff however is excellent. If they read this they will know exactly who I am because I am the lady who is virtually impossible to draw blood from- it doesn't matter where I am, the ER the operating room.... I know I'm probably their hardest patient. They are always so kind and friendly and they are extremely conscientious. Out of any place I have been to, hospital, surgery room or ER they have the highest success rate of drawing my blood without poking me 10 times- they follow all their proper protocols. Really great group of women I have been seeing there over the past 8 months! read more

Despite other individuals willing to give her their time slot, the office would not accommodate. They state that appointments take priority, however, it does not appear that way. Clean, Friendly and amazing staff! My daughter has special needs. recently, it has been difficult to do successful blood draws for her lab work. But today was a different outcome! We were amazed how patient, understanding, professional and quick the primary phlebotomist, Sandra, and her co-worker, Linda, were with my daughter. They were the BEST. They happily accommodated her needs and worked with her to make her feel comfortable and safe. They were able to find a vein quickly and the vial was filled before my daughter knew it! In general, this location is clean, efficient and easily accessed. We were thankful we could schedule a Saturday appointment. Ample parking. Short wait with the easy appointment check in process that scans a QR code (emailed with appointment confirmation). Screen prompts are easy to follow. Horrible ! Horrible ! Horrible ! Candy and her friend ( she uses glasses ) the rudest people ever! I arrived 3 minutes late and the computer didn't allowed me to check in. She told me to wait. 15 minutes later she told to sign in as a walk in. As I was about to sign in as a walk in, a caregiver arrived with 7 patient and checked in in front of me. Making the story short. They could have told me to sign in on my phone and using the link sent to me. I wasted an hour and they never called me. I ran to LABCORP around the corner, and they helped me right away! They were to do my blood text in 13 minutes ! On top of the Quest office is ran down. They don't offer even water. No one at the window to help you. At the LABCORP is a much nicer office and they have water in the waiting room and people in the front helping you. read more

As other have noted, there is no receptionist. There is just a bedsheet hanging over the window where the receptionist used to sit. They depend on a computer to run everything. If everything goes perfectly, they can handle the blood draws just fine. But if there is any problem, there is nobody who can fix it. The employees hide behind a locked door, and on the rare occasions when they open the door, you cannot get them to help you. They say that it is not their job. If your doc mis-spelled something, nobody can help. If their computer goes down, nobody can help. If a piece of paper is missing, nobody can help. Everything has to go perfectly, or you are out of luck. And when the problem is fixed, and you want to re-schedule for later that day, they can't do it. If something goes wrong, they just tell you to wait in the lobby until the next open slot. When is that? They can't tell you. And there is no receptionist to ask. If you believe that there will never be any problem in your medical care, and if you are willing to trust it all to some off-site computer, then go to Quest. But if you think that you might possibly need the assistance of a real person, go someplace else - like the LabCorp offices that are 100 yards away. read more

The only people who care are the employees, who are caught between their patients and incompetent management, by design of said management. Here's my experience with Quest Diagnostics 477 El Camino Real, Suite 201, Encinitas, CA 92024. We arrived for our appt for our daughter at 9:30am. There are no humans at reception, only a computer kiosk. We checked in. There is an option for wait inside the room or "wait outside and we will text you". We selected wait outside. At 9:54 I received the text and we walked from the downstairs restroom up into the clinic. The text message says "Please enter and have a seat, you will be called soon. No need to check in again when you get inside." After waiting another 30 minutes I asked a nurse who was calling in another patient, and she said, "Oh your name has been called a long time ago. You weren't here so we moved on with others on the list." I explained that we came as fast as we could. She said to check in at the kiosk again and took the next patient. I waited in line for the kiosk, re-entered all of our info and the Kiosk said, "there is no appointment for you" I waited 10 more min until the nurse popped her head out and told her what the message said. She said, "You need to sign in as a walk in and wait for all of these other people in the waiting room to be seen." There were about 15 others in the waiting room. She left. We decided to leave rather than wait for an additional 1-2 hours. Horrible business practices. If there is an option to wait outside, we need time to enter the room. I had been checking my cell phone every minute and we moved quickly. They should have at least called our name one more time to check, which they did not. After all that had happened, they should have then put us at the top of the list rather than wait for an entire new waiting room of people. At minimum, she should have told me to re-check in as a "walk in" which she did not. This is unacceptable. The person who helped me (I wish I got her name) was upset and frustrated and did not handle this situation well. read more

And only because I'm willing to drive to La mesa or Chula Vista and I'd be coming from Riverside. I overheard an unprofessional gentleman working and talking to patients. Disappointing. Staff is really behind. I work in the medical profession and can relate to the challenges of shortages and Covid-19, but there is no reason to to rude toward patients. If you book an appointment, be sure to be prepared to wait and wait and wait. Check in is self serve, so if you are elderly and tech challenged, there is no one to help you fyi. Waiting room has four chairs an an iPad for check in. The lady that drew my blood was very nice. Thank you. Zero stars. Worst experience ever. I checked in 5 minutes early for a scheduled appt. from a link sent to me in a text message from my car when I arrived, as instructed. I did this 3 times, and never received an acknowledgment, and then proceeded to the Quest waiting area. There were 3 other people in the unstaffed Quest waiting area. Two paper blinds were hung over the reception desk. After 25 minutes, all 3 of them had been called in and left, I continued to wait but was never called to be seen. I went to the kiosk, thinking perhaps I needed to check in yet again, but was denied because it was more than 10 minutes past my appointment time, and the kiosk instructed me to reschedule, even though there was no one else waiting. I spoke to the paper shades covering the reception desk, "Is anyone here?" An employee came out and said I was more than 10 minutes late and could not be seen. By this time there was one new walk-in in the waiting area. The employee kept talking over me, refusing to acknowledge or seemingly understand anything I was saying. She accused me of "yelling at her," and yes, I raised my voice because she kept talking over me. I asked to see a supervisor and there was none on-site. Another employee came out and said I could not be seen, and handed me the 800 customer service number. I filed a complaint. Quest seems to be cutting costs by not hiring a person to properly staff the reception desk, and just using a kiosk, and this situation probably could have been avoided if they did. FUUUU@$#&$^#k! Do not come to this place without making an appointment first! If you don't, be prepared to wait... I waited over three hours for a simple pre-employment test. Lots of people were waiting here on the Monday morning I went. The waiting area was small, the a/c non-existent, and it was standing room only. As soon as I came in, I asked a couple of people sitting how long they had been waiting. They said they were there about 40-90 minutes. People were irritated and agitated. Understandably so, as there were only TWO people staffed and at least 20-30 people waiting to be seen. One cool thing to happen to me was that a gentleman offered to give up his seat for me (actually, he wasn't that old...his momma & daddy taught him right! Good job, parents!) I told him thank you, but I was going to go find breakfast somewhere and come back, since I knew it would be at least an hour wait. I ended up at the Cafe 477 located just outside the medical buildings. (review coming soon). I came back up to sit and wait with a happy tummy, stuff to read, and things to occupy myself until my name was called. Everyone watched in envy as the 3 people who made appointments got called within 10 minutes of coming in, and they left in about the same amount of time. Well, all I got to say for myself is that I don't freakin go to get tested often enough to realize that I might need to make an appointment. But trust me, after this day, I will remember. read more

I don't know what this place was like before, but I've been here twice in the last 3 months. Both times were good experiences. Pros: Staff is nice and the ladies who drew my blood were excellent. Place is clean. You have to make an appt, but that's your time..if someone happens to be later than you, but checks in before you, YOU still get your appt time. Both times I didn't wait more than 5min. Easy check in kiosk. Cons: There's no receptionist, so if you're not sure of how it works, it's a bit confusing at first. I wish you got to talk to a live person to explain it before you go in for your first visit. No one there to answer questions, you have to catch someone when they come out to call next appt.
