I was hoping to arrive at 7am to avoid the rush, got there at 8am, no appointment. Rachel super friendly, I didn't even have to sit down, I went straight into lab and Rachel had taken my blood before I even realized it, 100% pain free, didn't feel a thing and I am one of those people with hard to see veins and I often get stuck a few times before they find a vein. This place sucks. I had to take my 7 mo old infant to this clinic and not only was the facility supposed to be infant-friendly - they weren't! "Rosa" spoke to my baby in Spanish and inserted a needle in her arm (while she's screaming) and wiggled it around to "find' a vein. It was heart-wrenching and horrifying. I think the place is disgusting and I'll fight tooth and nail to never go back. read more

I have to get my blood drawn very often (even though I'm only in my early 20's) I have the smallest, and most impossible veins to find, which usually makes getting my blood drawn a nightmare because it usually takes everyone in the offices group effort to find a vein on me. I come to this particular Quest Diagnostics to get my blood drawn because one of the employees knows exactly where to find my veins and makes the experience stress free for me. Really sweet woman, and personable, she always remembers me when I come there. I keep forgetting her name but she is the best! I won't let anyone else take my blood except her. I usually dont make appointments and just walk in, if she's not there I always come back a different day when she is there. (long and dark haired woman, with an accent, she had kind of a south american accent? I can't pinpoint what kind it is) If you have read my other reviews I'm horrible with names even if Its told to me 100 times (I should probably start writing the names down, haha). I'll definitely get her name next time I go in and update my review when I get it. My other experiences her have been horrible with the other employees. I hate needles in general and one of my first times at this office one of the employees taking my blood said "wow, I see you have a tattoo and you're scared of this needle? you need to calm down or I wont do this" Are you kidding me?! How inappropriate to say to someone in fear. I had warned her that I was scared of needles before she even sat me in the chair. Also, tattoos are a completely different thing, I'm not getting blood taken out of my arm when I'm getting a tattoo. One of the other bad experience was when I showed up to this office the second they opened at 630 I believe, because I had to be at work by 8:30. They had got some new kind of system and had to put all my information into it? Something weird and that ended up taking an HOUR because the woman was teaching the employee how to use this new system. I even told them I had to be at work by 830 and they just continued on their little tutorial. Well, by the time their worthless tutorial was done and I actually got my blood taken, I was almost an hour late to work. Basically, this place it a hit or miss, unless you get the woman I mentioned earlier (sorry yelpers I need to find out her name). Another thing is, always be prepared to wait up to 2 hours. I am surprised this place has some low reviews. I had a great experience this morning. (And I dread getting blood taken) You check in on an ipad, the nurses call you up and you can be seen within a few minutes. All the nurses working there were super friendly. My paperwork wasn't sent by the doctor, and they watched for the fax and were really nice and got me in as soon as it did come through. Would come here again. read more

The doctors are always super nice and they also work quick! I've gone walkin a few times and only had to wait about 5-10 minutes. They use a tablet for checkin and you can see your name on the list on the TV. All Covid measures being taken as well. Very organized and new office. read more

I had to do a 4 hour long blood glucose test and was dreading the whole thing and not feeling well. The manger there Lauren was the kindest, sweetest and best person I have dealt with in any office! Not to mention she is hands down the best person to draw blood did not feel a thing (all 4 times) she was very professional and treated everyone with joy and respect. read more

The front desk lady with the tatto behind her neck was completely out of line. She treated this poor elderly lady like a piece of trash. The lady's doctor from the same building sent her up with something to drop off and she gave her such a hard time about not having an order when all she had to do was call down to the doctor for the order. This older lady was out of breath and so flustered, it was a very simple thing the front desk lady could've done to accommodate her, it was so unbelievable I jumped in to help her and then the front desk bitch said I'll just call down for you, your fine to leave. It was heartbreaking to watch. She was so cold and inhumane she should be fired. Everyone has a bad day, maybe this was hers. I also gave her my insurance info written down because I only had my card on my phone, which she wouldn't allow me to email (every doctor I've ever seen has) so I wrote it down and she threw it away in front of me. The only reason I gave two stars was for Carlos, he was amazing. Great bed side manner and hit me on the first try. He was great! read more

Ladies at front desk are nice, but this place is always having problems. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Parking is expensive and Quest refuses to validate. My paperwork was messed up when it was faxed from my doctor AND not in the system. It never seems to be in the system. I waited 1.5 hours to get this sorted then they were not allowed to work on their lunch break and they sent me somewhere else. So I spent $4 on parking and 3 hrs of my time and was back where I started. I drove to another Quest where I had to pay for parking AGAIN and then start my 3 hour test. So its been 2.5 hours longer of a process than it should have been, I cant go to work, and I haven't eaten since 10pm. I had to drive from quest to quest delirious and arguing with the parking people and now I have to drive home delirious. So bad. Quest is a money grubbing company. read more

Girl that took my sons blood was amazing woman at the desk with the neck tattoo is one of the rudest people I've ever encountered in my life. She rolled her eyes when it took me less than 1010 to 15 seconds to get my sons insurance card out of my wallet then she copied it and slammed it back on the counter rather than handing it back to me, she is so bothered and irritated with every single patient that comes in. Note the other reviews about her she should be fired she should not have a job in the medical field. Then she didn't know the codes on the orders for my son testing and asked me what they were I stated I'm not a doctor and I don't work in a lab I don't know that totally pissed her off wow this woman is unbelievably rude read more

One thing is for sure; their front desk staff can't think for themselves and seem to crate an unfriendly customer experience. Today I walked in - two people waiting so I stayed. I was told to write my name on the clipboard and hang onto my paperwork. No mention of how long the wait would be. New patients came and went each taking about 10 minutes. There was only one blood technician on duty who is a gem - thanks Carlos. How long did it take you ask? From the time I walked in the door to the time I left 54 minutes for 3 vials of blood. Don't expect to get called in order; if you are a bit troublesome like Michele K I am certain that they keep you waiting longer. Whatever you do, do NOT go to this location (if you care about your health and well-being). They will mess up your results, give you the wrong tests and say "sorry, we got confused." If you ask for a manager they will advise they are unable to give out that information. If you try to call them, you will only get an automated system. What kind of operation are they running? I was given a paper for lab locations and went to this location because the paper said that their lunch was from 1-2 p.m., but when I got there I was yelled at, literally yelled at, and told that their lunch was from 12:30 to 1:30, READ THE SIGN! I just tried to say that the paper I had said different lunch times and she snapped at me and said they needed to help the other people who got there first, which anyone would understand, I was just telling her that the paper was incorrect. Why do people have to be so rude? I am sick, I may have to have some major surgery soon, why do people who work in the health field act this way? If you don't like people, get another job! I don't understand the reviews for Quest at this location. I know nobody really likes having their blood drawn or peeing in a cup, but I have always found this Quest Diagnostics a very good place to get my lab work done. I have been coming here for years. It is in a building at the lower campus of my work and a few doors down from my internist's office, so it is very convenient. I have very tiny veins and sometimes have to be butterflied to draw blood. The phlebotomists here are friendly and professional and very proficient in drawing blood. On my last visit, Rosa, was great. She verified ID's on my vials and explained things well and was nice and quick. Makes the overall experience easier. My doctor electronically sends over my orders for my lab work. I set up my appointments on line through Quest's website which is easy to use. I'll agree, the lady at the front was pretty mean to an elderly woman that came in. I didn't care to much about myself but I hate to see others get treated so horribly. She was hidden behind a panel in in the desk so people wait there for someone to show and then she talks from behind it and nobody can figure out where she is. She doesn't move, or pop up to let them know but gives a little attitude like, 'people are stupid'. She is jaded, which is the exact behavior which needs to be avoided in the medical, public service (police/court), and school systems. Rosa took my blood. That process didn't take to long. I had my blood drawn by Nichole recently - she was quiet but friendly and even though she had quite a few vials of blood to draw, she was able to keep the needle very still so it wouldn't be painful. Some other reviews mentioned someone named Rachel, and I observed a Rachel who was helping people next to me. While she didn't draw my blood, I did notice that she was considerate in that she had someone do urine collection while they were waiting for their turn which she said was so that they wouldn't have as long to wait. They play music and you have a nice view while getting your blood drawn which can be nice as a distraction. Update: I went again and this time the music wasn't playing as loud so I guess that's not a distraction you can count on, but the tech made nice conversation. Also, I was seen within a few minutes of getting there (I made an appointment ahead of time on their website though which I'd recommend doing). read more

I made an appointment with these people yesterday but have questions to ask before the appointment. I've spent the better part of the last hour trying to talk to a real person and it has become painfully obvious that they don't want to do that. The Medical industry is as personal as it gets, but Quest can't seem to be bothered with something so trivial as answering personal questions. I'm giving them a sub zero score but unfortunately I think they care as little about their Yelp rating as they do their patients. I am the worst when it comes to getting my blood drawn! Every time I have had blood drawn, whether it be one vial or five vials, my body goes into this weird shock. I get dizzy, nauseous, extremely sweaty, and just plain sick (fasting or no fasting). Nichole checked me in that day and she was extremely kind; and let me know that there were a few people ahead of me. I think I had to have waited no longer then 15 minutes and there were three people that went ahead of me. Rachel was my hero that day! I explained to her what normally happens and how my body hates giving up its blood. She asked me what arm I preferred and I told her whatever one is the best for you. She was so passionate about what she does and was looking at my veins in excitement--trying to pick her favorite. That day I had FOUR vials taken and she did it flawlessly! Didn't feel a thing...no bruising at all (never happens)...and I didn't have my strange reaction! I will literally make an appointment just to go back to see Rachel! I have never witnessed such a horrific experience in my life. Rachel S. was the person taking my husband's blood and she was awful! My Husband was there to have blood drawn because he is part of a trial for living donors with Northwestern Hospital. He is donating his kidney to his step-father due to kidney failure. He is dying. This is a very stressful situation and there were very specific instructions for which we provided to the employees. Right off the bat, we received attitude when attempting to relay the information we were provided for the draw. Once we were taken back, Rachel S. was confrontational and completely unprofessional. My husband was asking if they understood what the instructions were and immediately, Rachel S. snapped at him. He was trying to explain our situation and she told us that every person that comes in "has a story and feels important." He then stated that the way we were greeted was quite rude and she then said that they are rude because they have to deal with "people like us." Mind you, this is occurring WHILE SHE IS TAKING BLOOD. She continued to harass my husband, as well as raise her voice to me as I attempted to diffuse the situation but she clearly wanted to argue. She then threatened to stop the blood draw and, as one could imagine, we pleaded with her to not because the timing of the blood drawn HAD to be this morning to sync up with my father-in-laws blood draw today. She then proceeds to rip the needle out of my husband's arm and tells us that we will have to go to another lab. Again, Rachel S. ripped the needle out of his arm! My husband started to bleed all over his arm and she tries to touch him after what she has done to stop the bleeding. Like I said at the beginning, I have never witnessed anything like this in my life. Rachel S. deserves to be fired. read more

Walked in today per my boss's suggestion. He said he always walks in and as long as the waiting room is not full, the wait isn't bad. So glad I took his advice this morning! About 4 people ahead of me. The front desk gal, Nichole, was polite, professional. The nurse who drew my blood sample was energetic, a lovely young lady named Rachel. She was a pro with the needle and used a smaller gauge (thank you! ) after asking me about past experiences. Her conversation would be an excellent distraction for people that are nervous about having blood drawn. I was in and out, and writing this review within 30 minutes today. Wish I didn't even have to leave one star. I am pregnant and came in for a glucose testing. I arrived at exactly 8:00AM when they opened and it took 45 minutes for to be talked to and another 10 minutes to get my drink to begin my test. The woman in the front told me to drink the entire bottle within 5 minutes and they would test me an hour after that. I finished my drink, let her know I was done and sat back down. I had my two kids with me the entire time and I had been up and down with them walking them in the hallways the entire time. While I was in the hallway a gentlemen that was just inside told me the lady who was helping me was freaking out that I wasn't in there and was basically announcing to the waiting room that they were going to cancel my test. I immediately went inside to see what was going on. She was so rude. She was yelling at me telling me I had to stay there, they had to watch me for the entire hour, that she called my dr and that I just had to go and the test was cancelled. I was floored. I couldn't even get a word in. She NEVER explained to me that I needed to stay in the waiting room. She was wasn't watching me or she would have seen that I was up and down with my 1-year old and my 5-year old. She said she had to watch me the entire time, however she told me to leave 30 minutes before the hour was up. This is the most unprofessional treatment I have ever received. I will never use this lab again and I will never recommend that anyone goes here. read more

My 1yr son went in for a blood work and I made sure to call first to confirm they could do a finger prick instead of an IV and they confirmed over 2 separate calls by 2 different people that they could (I even gave them the blood test code from the physician order) then when my husband arrived for our appointment time they still made him wait 20 minutes and stated they had to do an IV and the information they had given me was wrong with no apologies. Now I understand blood work isn't always fun but getting the correct information would have been nice to prepare for an IV on my 1 yr old and for me to do some research ahead of time. And of course after 20 minutes my son is now ready to go so we went ahead with the IV as we had already wasted enough time there and the lady was very fast. I am giving 2 stars for the draw by the nurse and that is all as we had to wait and the information given over the phone was incorrect multiple times. read more

After reviewing all the negative comments, I reluctantly visited this Lab because of close proximity to my place. However, I was happy with my decision. It is located on the 4th Floor of a nice building, the waiting area is one of the largest, with ambient lighting and clean all over including the chairs. Receptionist was serious older lady and very busy with processing the work for other patients but courteous. She asked me to fill the sign-up sheet and wait to be called. Technician was a nice man and I had a positive feeling about the place when I left. A couple of days later I returned to give their required specimen for additional tests. A very nice and pleasant young lady with the Q.D. Uniform was at the reception and she processed the work properly and professionally. So why not 5 Stars? The reasons follow: 1. I felt unease when I saw the technician touching everything with his gloves on, prior to blood draw and I asked him very nicely and with apology if he could put on a fresh set of gloves. To be fair to him, most technicians do not follow the proper protocol during the blood draw. He was nice, agreed and removed his gloves. He also removed the rubber band/strap from my arm and rushed away from me and moments later came back with a printed paper on a clipboard and asked me to write my name, sign and date while his gloved hand covering most of the paper, which I complied. I'm not sure what was that. There was no chance to read that and he did not provide me a copy. Maybe all legit but was odd. Also with all the distractions, I did not discussed the glove issue for the second time. 2. An hour or so after blood drawn, I noticed a pinkish inflammation/rash in the area, which was not a hematoma and I'm not allergic to latex. That grew larger the next day and spread to a larger area on my arm with itching and some minor pain. In the last 6 month, I've been to the Lab of my medical center several times with multiple veils of blood drawn from both arms, and have never experienced any problem during and after blood drawn. My Medical Center is about 20 miles drive and Quest Diagnostics is only 3 miles away. BTW, I am not able to insert the pic of the rash. read more

Horrible customer service!!!! Renee was very rude! I walked in and check in about 12:20 they close down for lunch 12:30 her coworkers and herself were so eager to go to lunch "EARLY" for an hour she came out very rude told me to check in I told her I was checked in already she picked up my paper and stated "Oh NO you have to come back for that" were closed right now I told her I'm sorry but it's not 12:30 yet she states "well we have to take a lunch it's against the law for us not to take a lunch" she also stated "and this is going to take to long" and escorted me out the office! Horrible service!!! I wouldn't dare use my insurance here with these rude people!!! I understand you have to eat. But there should be a better system being that my doctor just sent my to to their office! I don't have an hour to wait around for people to feed their faces and I live 20mins away!! Just horrible!!! Horrible experience today!!( at approximately 11:15 am) Wish I would have got the girl's name. She was younger.. Maybe late 20's, and tom boyish. She was very rude. When I first walked in she shouted , " Are you JUST a walk in?" There was only 1 other person on a large waiting room. I said " yes" and handed her my lab order. She rudely dismissed it telling me she is with a patient and to write my name down and wait to be called. Once called back and ready to get my blood drawn I was told I had a balance ($60)from a previous visit that didn't realize I had, and wanted to call my insurance company to inquire. She insisted payment be made immediately as I sat there to get blood drawn.. she actually angrily said " We can't assist you today until this is paid " and made me get a credit card out while I had my arm extended to draw blood. There definitely was a more tactful way to collect payment . I had my 2 small children with me so I had to bite my lip. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I decided to take my son to Quest since I was short on time and know they usually aren't too busy. I was told that pre-authorized price would be a maximum of $250, but would probably be less. I questioned the woman at the desk several times if yes the maximum would be $250 since I was freaked out about the non-insurance price of over $2 thousand dollars and was repeatedly told that no more than $250. So I get a bill for another $34. I called billing and they said if additional testing is needed they can charge more and that the ANA was positive and additional testing was required. I told them that my paperwork shows the ANA was negative. They said I needed to have the doctor's office to call them to correct their billing. I told them this was unreasonable because the doctor's office is concerned with their own billing and not their's and I can send them the paperwork proving it was negative. I was told I still needed the doctor's office to call and I asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold and the lady came back on the line and said that her and her manager figured out that what she had told me before was incorrect and something about a co-pay or something (which I don't have with this PPO plan) and that the price is $284. These people are dishonest and I will not be using their lab again!!! read more
