Phlebotomist didn't follow proper protocol, didn't sterilize in the proper order, ended up giving me a horrible nervous system flair up!

I had an image CT today with contrast. I am very difficult to put an IV in. The Techs were great but it took 4 sticks to find a large enough vein that didn't roll. I needed some lab work done also. I wanted to use the IV stint so I didn't need to be stuck again. Quest said no! Plus...the waiting room resembled the motor vehicle department and not a human to be found. Plus, an estimated 48 minutes wait. I am not healthy and soon to be 70. The people in labs are generally not healthy. This is not a safe environment. This Quest lab is at Peace Health in Building B. Vancouver, Washington. It is difficult to find and out of the way. It was better when it was in the lobby. I would have made this a minus star if it was offered. read more

This place does not have an office manager so you are out of luck if there are problems. NO ONE IS IN CHARGE. My wife got a good tongue lashing for not wearing a coat (took it off to sit down) and not drinking enough water (had been slamming H2O for 6 hours). Mentioning this once or twice should have been enough. Or listening to the patient might have clued her in. But this went on for 15 minutes, never a break from berating my wife. I hate this company and it looks like they have a lock on several insurances companies and regional dominance. Time to complain to the State. Which I have just done. read more

Waited 4 hours of holding in to take a urine test. Even when I was on standby no one in the lobby but me and someone. Would wait 30 mins before someone who had an appointment walk in and they would get called and I continued to wait. Go to other places for testing highly don't recommend this place it'll be easier to set appointments as well. read more

I would give a zero but you can't. Worst experiences of my life. Two different people two different visits have been awful. I have been ignored. Spoken to rudely and unkindly. The lady taking my blood took a phone call while she was digging in my arm. Second lady just refused to speak to me and said " I'd rather not" when I asked if my wife could come back with me and then never another word. Even though I see others with partners in the back. Leaving me in a room alone without saying a word. The worst place ever. People come in here with worries of serious medical conditions and to be treated like this is incredibly unacceptable and unprofessional! Almost walked out and I should have based on how I was treated and what a terrible job they do digging at your veins but I needed this done for my own health to I stayed. Horrible! Obviously this laboratory stays in busy because it's the only one in the area and there are no other choices, but to be victimized by them. There is no customer service or greeting attendant. Just a screen to check in. Upon checking in for my 12:45 appointment, I proceeded to wait two hours without any acknowledgment. Everyone in the waiting room had the same complaints. I waited another hour. The check in screen had my name, but would go from 28 min wait to 4 min back to 34 over and over. My time is valuable and obviously they don't care. I also was fasting for my test which made it even more frustrating. read more

In contrast to the numerous one-star reviews on here, my visit to Quest Diagnostics was surprisingly O.K. Here's the details: Pros: (1) Very quick. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. (2) The clinic was busy but everyone working there was pleasant. A very kind lady named Alexis took my blood sample. I'm a total wimp when it comes to getting blood drawn, and I'd fainted on my previous trip down to Quest three years ago. Alexis made the whole process quick and painless. It was by far the easiest blood draw I've ever had done. Cons / Things to Know: (1) A sign on the kiosk in the lobby said that they are not accepting walk-ins at this time. (2) No receptionist. When you get there, you will sign in on one of two "kiosks" (basically, a tablet computer). This was easy and took about two minutes. Recommendations: Make sure you have a Quest account set up. Bring something from your doctor or employer saying WHAT tests are needed, and make an appointment. I'd logged in to my Quest account a couple of days earlier and had verified that my doctor had sent in a list of the tests he needed. (3) If you look up Quest Diagnostics on Yelp or Google, it may return several CLOSED locations as well as the one that is currently OPEN. The place you're looking for is in a large building at 505 NE 87th Avenue (second floor, southeast corner). Enter at the south side, take the elevator up one floor, and turn left. (4) The clinic seemed kind of busy. There were already 8-10 people in line when it opened at 7 a.m. I was able to get there early and get out pretty quickly. read more

So I went sent here for a drug screen through hireright. This site has no appointments available for a couple weeks and does not take walk ins for the drug testing for them. So they sent me to 9330 NE Vancouver Mall dr. And this location does not do these drug tests! So I have to go to a third location. The woman at van mall told me they have told quest not to send epassport drug screens here and quest continues to do it anyway! Get your act together. read more

We entered the phone number for appointment and nothing showed on the tv screen , after waiting 45 min, we tried to log in again with personal info and name didn't show up again . Never come here. I'd give zero starts if I could. 1) Unacceptable Covid 19 precautions. You must sign in using a touch screen. Punch in your name and DOB. In the 30 minutes I sat in the waiting room, that monitor was never wiped down. They have chairs about 6' apart, but some are directly next to an entrance/exit door or the door you must go thru for your lab work. 2) I looked online prior to going it. It said as a walk in, I'd have an 11 minute wait. Got there, parked, walked, checked in, using gloved hands, the monitor said I'd have a 9 minute wait. All good? No. They have people with appointments but they do not factor in the appointments when they calculate your wait time. My 9 minutes turned into 30. Either factor in the appointments, or don't give a wait time. 3) ! had tried to call ahead of time to verify they had my doctor's order for the blood draw. No way to talk to a human. The recording did say not to worry if they didn't have the order, they'd call for it. Right then I should have known better. They did not have the order, they called the doc office, he wasn't in so no order until he got back. I had fasted and waited so long, I could no longer wait 4) While waiting, a woman came in with a child. She sat him in the chair right by the extry/exit door. He started coughing, a deep congested cough. I looked over. The kid had his mask off and mom was trying to get it back on him and he was having no part of it. That kid should never have been in that waiting room. 5) I not only wasted my time, but I felt very unsafe. Since I medicate for hypertension, I took my bp when I got home. 150/77. three hours later it was still 146/72. I called my doctor's office, had them send my lab order to Vancouver lab which is right across the street. I will never return to Quest again. read more

I have used Quest Diagnostics but I can only guess about Quest Direct, although I know it is often the lab many online lab test sites use. If you have health insurance though and a test is questioned as to coverage so that you will likely have to pay the rate that Quest requires to agree to, you are better off getting the test through an online site. As a Medicare patient I had believe the dubious coverage of a test was one that Medicare would have to cover so I agree to a $95 charge if Medicare did not cover it (in this case because of frequency, since the specialist wanted a recent result). I could have bought the same test online for $35. Lab tests if you are uninsured and or have to pay cash can be very competitive online and then you only pay the lab draw fee. Some tests like testosterone you can buy even cheaper OTC test kits using a pin prick or other. read more

The building Quest Labs is in has a lot of handicap parking, but I went 3x & both sides of the building the handicapped spots were packed. I finally pulled in an unmarked spot hoping I wouldn't get a ticket, which I luckily didn't! After waiting 15 mInutes to check in at the desk, I waited in the waiting room and other 30 minutes, then sat in a room with a trainee & employee while it took another 30 minutes as they inputted my information, blood tests to be run, etc. The blood draw was quick & painless, staff were all very nice, but the waiting, with my physical disabilities was very painful physically. So poorly run. No front office person , so if you have a question you have to wait until a tech walks by. They are so short staffed that you can't get an appointment within 10 days. So everybody walks in, but because there is no management or organization, they only manage to take one client back every 15 minutes, even with 3 techs working. Needless to say, they made it impossible to get my tests before my doctors appointment which is still 2 weeks away. read more

The actual lab work that Quest diagnostic was great, My problem is with the billing department. I signed up for a payment plan and had them take each payment automatically. I paid the balance off early but they still took a monthly payment. I contacted them on April 5th for a refund. They agreed that my balance was zero band they took the money in error and they would refund my money. After several weeks of no refund, I contacted them again and they again said they would refund my money but it takes 4 to 6 weeks to process. It's now over 7 weeks, I think they are hoping I'll forget about it. I am contacting my credit card to dispute the charge. My advice NEVER, NEVER use automatic payments with Quest. read more

This is by far the worst Quest I have ever been to. I get lab work done all the time for a chronic illness and for some reason there is always drama at this location. There is always something wrong. I have driven here 3 separate times (over an hour drive) to get lab work done and every time something goes wrong and they can't do the tests. Either they completely leave out certain (very important) tests and fail to do them completely, or they can't do them after a certain time without even telling you. This time they told me at first that they aren't trained to do the tests (????) and then that they can only do them before 11am. Customer service is a joke. These people suck!! read more

I have driven to Vancouver twice now from Longview with an appointment booked. They've told me twice now that I don't have an appointment when I arrived even after I show them my confirmation code and "checked-in" using their in-person, online portals. I spoke with 3 different labs techs one of which was the manager. All the manager could help me do was book another appointment. Their are 20 people waiting and most of them have appointments that are running behind. This place is terrible and if you have any other options I would try those first. I also tried their phone number to speak with someone and a voicemail said they are not receiving phone calls at this time. I called during normal business hours. read more
