Wow! I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Quick Communications. Amazing service! I am still in shock at how quickly I was able to update my phone! I needed a new glass screen for my phone I got it fixed right away no long wait necessary. Also after I got the screen fixed I could no longer hear anything coming through my ear piece. You are crazy if you don't get your phone here!! These guys are awesome. The staff knows their stuff cold, knows the "games" and really listen to what your needs are. They don't try to push stuff on you that you don't need or want and are super responsive to any issues (even if it relates to Verizon and not them). I've referred many folks here and will keep doing so. Comparing this store to a "company" Verizon store (such as on Davis Street) is like night and day. Here you get personalized, calm, attentive, professional and knowledgeable service vs. "hello - can anybody help me here?". The "official prices" are all set by Verizon, but the team has routinely asked if I wanted a phone cover "on them" just to thank me for being a customer. I recently purchased an iPhone 6 at full price from Louis. My contract isn't up until July, but I needed an upgrade asap. He apologized for the contract issue, even though it is a Verizon thing, and even researched other angles to try to get me a discount. When all was said and done, I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes with a new phone and my data transferred over. This was especially helpful as I had to leave Alameda to attend my Father's funeral the next day. I went back today with an iPhone 5 case that I had just recently purchased and never used for the iPhone 5 that I upgraded from. The young lady at the counter was helpful and gave me a refund. This place is great! I walked in to get a car charger and dash mount. The staff (2 women and a gentleman) went above and beyond. I was interested in a magnetic dash mount but they were out of stock. The staff took the time to tear apart their own magnetic set up's so that I could try it with my phone and see if I really liked it and if it would work with the case that I have for my phone in. When it was determined that yes this is what I want, and yes they are out of stock, they took the time to wrangle one up for me. Poor communication skills and flat-out lied to us about what is available in the U.S. in terms of data service. We just moved to CA and i needed a SIM card for my smartphone. I was looking for a pay-as-you-go data, voice, and messaging plan. I work heavily from my phone and needed an unlimited data plan. I was told that "there are no unlimited data plans in the U.S. anymore" - which i believed. I spent $85 getting set up for which i received a SIM card, 300 minutes, 300 texts, and 2 gigs, only to find out that the service provider is total crap (Red Pocket) with very poor customer service and that it IS in fact possible to buy (for $45) an unlimited data package on pay-as-you-go. I really don't appreciate being lied to. Further, my phone was supposedly configured by a store employee, but in fact was not configured properly, so i have not had access to cellular data since i bought the card. I wasted 20 minutes of my 300 trying to get help from Red Pocket, which was completely useless and did not solve my problem. read more

I don't live in Alameda..but this is the ONLY cell phone store I will ever go to. Louis and his staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and polite. If he doesn't carry what you are looking for...it's because it's probably junk. One of my AT&T numbers completed the 2 years contract, so I can transfer the number to Verizon in order to get a new unlocked iPhone 6 which is important for me and my family while we travelling in Taiwan. So I call yesterday asking Louis to process everything for me, then he helped me done everything and I received the phone today and my wife is using the new iPhone 6 now. What an awesome experience. I am a fairly new Iphone user previously having bought at Best Buy. I went with a friend to purchase to help her purchase her first Iphone. We are both middle aged women, not 20+ year old techies. (need I say more). Vannara was extremely helpful, patient, easy to understand, clear, answered all our questions, and gave us contact information if we needed more help. Louis (the owner) offered my friend the Black Friday special to save us having to come back on Black Friday for the purchase and provided other helpful information, as well as great advice and prices on the cover and other accessories. I wish I had given my business to this great company but so glad my friend did. I too have gone to the Nob Hill Verizon Store before hearing about Louis' store. No comparison. Again, Alameda fails in the goods and services department, Sigh. The girl who works there isn't as bad, but the guy (the owner?) is very unprofessional. As a longtime Verizon customer, I get an upgrade for a new phone every 2 years at a discounted price. First, the only phones they carry are either the out-dated flip Samsung phones that my grandma uses, or the iPhone. So I plunked down the $$ for the iPhone, and as a first time iPhone owner and user, I had questions and had to go back to this place a couple days later. This guy could not answer a single question. He proceeded to get very angry and defensive, telling me whatever was wrong with the phone was my own fault, not his (???). I finally left and went to the Verizon store by Nob Hill Foods, where I was treated and appreciated like a real paying customer! They even fixed the phone - it was just a software update-thing. Can't help but wonder why this guy at Quick Communications didn't even know how to update the software (or whatever)?? And why is a brand new 2 day old phone already in need of an update? Don't waste your time with Quick Communications and just go to a real service provider. Oh, and there is a really mean dog that lives in the store. read more
