The name of the place says it all! I walked in with no appointment made with about 2 people ahead of me. I was in and out of the place in about 20-25 minutes. The only complaint is that it can be hard to find. Make sure you get the right directions as there isn't a big sign to see the place. Other than my only complaint, I thought that the staff was friendly, the price was inexpensive (print the coupon from their website to save a little more), and the smog test was really quick. I took my second car into Quick Smog (Napa) yesterday 5/11/22 around 10:30 a.m. I specifically went back to Quick Smog after using them on my other car about 2 years ago. Luckily, there were no customers ahead of me. The receptionist took my keys and said it would be about 10 minutes....hmmm. I sat down after picking up a magazine to read. I turned on my phone, and before the phone was finished waking up, my name was called and my certification was done. I didn't even get to open up the magazine! I went in to get my car smog with a coupon, the place was quick even with multiple people ahead of me and was out within 20 minutes. That was on June 3rd., I'm a woman who really doesn't check my car myself, usually I'll ask my bf, dad, or brother to check it for me so my car is kept in great condition. Today my bf took my car to get us coffee and on his way back the car started smoking, he popped the hood and realized that the oil cap was not screwed in but upside down and just sitting on top. I don't drive my car that much so I'm glad the cap didn't fall off, but I'm upset at the fact that this smog shop did not put the cap back on so my car has been leaking oil and my engine could have blown up if my bf had not popped the hood to see what was going on. It's rare to find a smog station that stands out among the others. This place stands out for many reasons. Warm, friendly, helpful and reasonable. What I like most is they have a policy of only charging you once for the smog check. If your car fails, pay the fee and when you bring it back for a retest, it's FREE. You only have to pay the license part. No one I have ever used does this in California. I drive from Calistoga to Napa for these folks. Oh, and Quick? I went in to the Napa Quick Smog for my first time this morning at about 8:30 AM and there was only one customer ahead of me. The smog technician was very nice and said it would take about ten minutes and he was right on point; just when I sat down and starting getting into a magazine article, the technician came back and said I was all set to go and that I passed. I used their website coupon and it came out to about 50 dollars (for cars 1996 and newer, mine is 2001 and not turbo or super charged, I don't know if other cars are more $). They open at 8AM most days so go early if you want to get it done VERY quickly. I will definitely be coming back here when my next smog is due =] read more

I gave this place two tries because of all the good reviews. Day one, I arrive at 5:15 (they close at 6pm) there is a car in the garage already being smogged. No one else is waiting. Another couple arrive at the same time as I do- the woman behind the counter tells us both they will not accept any other cars and to come back tomorrow. Really? It takes less than 30 minutes to do one car and the truck was already in the process of being smogged so she obviously could have done at least one of us. Fine. Maybe we caught her on a bad day, it happens to the best of us. Next day I came back at 2pm. There are people waiting in the waiting room that has a total of about 4-5 chairs, only one available, this time I had to bring my two children, and they tell me it will be 2-3 HOURS before they can get to my car. I said fine, can I just leave my name and take my kids home and come back at the time when they can work on the car, the guy and woman (same lady from the day before) look at me like I'm crazy and laugh and say "sure but it's a first come first serve so you'll have to wait after whoever else shows up." Seriously??? I have two young kids- you expect us to STAND in your waiting room for 2-3 hours? Although, now that I think about it, it would be a fitting punishment for them. I have a feeling after about 30 minutes they'd manage to find the time to get to my car much faster once my extremely tone deaf daughter started to sing at the top of her lungs and my son started pounding on the window to try and get their dog's attention. I have to assume that from all the good reviews that either they were having just a difficult few days or that all the new customers from yelp have made it difficult for them to keep up. Whatever the reason I will NEVER go back. They need to seriously understand the word: APPOINTMENT it saves time and effort, that way they can write down a person's name and car and they don't fill up a parking lot wasting people's valuable time when they can get around to their cars. I had to get my car smogged in the same day (my DMV registration was due the next day) and I had never done a smog check in Napa. So I Yelp'd "smog" in Napa, and this place popped up. I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm sure glad I did. I called around 4:30pm that day and the guy said there'd be no problem in getting it done that day. I dropped my car off around 5pm and was out of there by 6pm, complete with the electronic certificate sent to the DMV. They gave me the option to pay for my registration right there and then, or to wait until the next day to do it on my own, as it would take the DMV until after midnight to receive my smog certificate. Sure enough, I went online the next day and was able to pay for my registration, without any problems.
