Finally ventured to Quickly to see what the hype was all about. I was especially interested to see how this Quickly would compare with the one I visited in California. The menu is substantially smaller. OK, if anything I guess that makes it easier to make a decision. I decided to try one of the new drinks, the layered boba tea. It is black milk tea with egg pudding, grass jelly and tapioca. I can tell their drinks are pretty good quality and so is the tapioca (sweet with the right amount of chewiness, though I still think Snow Mountain has an edge in that category). While I liked the particular drink I ordered, I probably wouldn't order it again. Just too much going on with all the layers. My BF got the Thai Tea and the tea itself was really great, although a bit sweet. Apparently they do not charge extra if you want grass jelly in addition to tapioca, so that is really nice. They add ice to the drinks, which I am not a fan of. But I assume if you ask, they won't add ice. I would definitely come back to try other flavors. A fast and decent bubble tea/smoothie place. I actually despise those stupid tapioca bubbles but you can always request to not have them included. I love this place. If I'm anywhere near Buford Hwy I come here. It doesn't matter I'm I've already eaten and can't imagine getting something to drink, I still go. I'll want it eventually. Apparently, Atlanta hasn't ever had really good bubble tea. I've been trying to find a decent spot since around 2001 and while I thought it was good at a few spots I kept hearing from asian friends "No, this is garbage. This is not bubble tea." I just nodded my head and continued drinking, occasionally choking on a tapioca ball. Now I know what they were talking about. This place is awesome. I get the same thing pretty much every time: Melon milk tea with grass jelly. If you don't know what grass jelly is, get it. I don't know what it is either so I couldn't tell you, but it's good. All I can tell you is that it's sweet and does not taste like grass. I recently got some of the street food they have, chicken nuggets and sausage. Both were delicious. The chicken was a bit spicy but I would have liked maybe a little bit more so and the sausage was on the sweet side and had a perfect texture. Now I have to get some of those every time I go. It takes a while to get the food so just take your time with your tea until your food comes. It's not a meal but still a great snack. BRING CASH. I always forget they're cash only until I'm getting out of my car and then I panic trying to find the money I need. read more

I recently tried Quickly for the first time. I know there are chains elsewhere in the country, so I was eager to check out this international king of bubble tea. I had the iced coffee with grass jelly. I thought it was pretty good. In the future, I would get the iced coffee again, but would probably try an alternative to the grass jelly; it was a little softer than I preferred, but it may be normal for grass jelly..I am no expert. My wife got the milk tea with tapioca pearls. I thought it was really good - probably the best boba I have had in Atlanta. When I was there, several people were shockingly NOT drinking boba, but instead were eating other goodies: chicken nuggets, spring rolls, tempura.....I'm definitely going to try that next time! I know other Yelpers have commented on the slow speed of service, but it was relatively fast when I was there. Staff were not particularly friendly, but I got my drink within 5 minutes wait. I would give this a 4.5 if I had the option, but I think there is some room to improve to a 5 star rating. Quickly's bubble tea is still spot-on. I got the regular milk tea with bubbles, so it's a bit on the plain side, but I'm a purist. On this particular visit, I also tried the chicken nuggets. I usually don't eat snacks like these, but I have to say it was decent. It's made with dark meat only and these nuggets are fried in a batter with what might be tapioca starch and flour. They're dusted with a spicy seasoning and you eat them out of a small paper bag with long toothpicks. It's quite a treat for anyone who's never had them before. There are a few couches/seats here, but it's not exactly the place you want to stay at very long, however you can. I kind of prefer how much quieter it seemed in there than Sweet Hut, but we all know that Quickly vs Sweet Hut is not comparing apples to apples. It's about time for an updated review on this place as I still go here! Despite it's success in metro Atlanta and with the opening of competitors like Sweet Hut and Boba Mocha, prices here have remained the same since it was when it first opened up years ago. This earns not only my loyalty a hundred times over, but also deserves a shout out. *insert thumbs up for Quickly's cheap prices that still require CASH ONLY* Although they have added many, many more flavors of bubble tea, I've always found the taro bubble tea with either grass jelly or tapioca to be the best. Other places make the taro with too much or too little of the yummy-ness. Sometimes I'll try different flavors but then become disappointed because it doesn't taste as good as their taro. So I have a mental note to ignore that long list of bubble tea selections and stick with the taro. If you find a large sized bubble tea is JUST NOT ENOUGH, then no worries, Quickly's has the EXTRA LARGE sized bubble tea. Only in America, land of the giants, right? In addition to their vast bubble tea selection, Quickly's also offers Taiwanese street food. My favorite is the chicken nuggets, which come hot, freshly fried in a paper bag, with a skewer to eat with. These beat the competition hands down and are a great snack to eat in the car ride home. If it was just bubble tea and spicy fried chicken nuggets, Quickly deserves five stars. It got even better after Dio introduced to me Royal Tea flavor which I usually get with little black balls and egg pudding. The fried fish balls are also very good. I have also tried the chicken wings, octopus and slushy and these are the reasons I have my reservations and don't believe it is quite a solid five star joint. I almost always get the taro bubble tea when I come here. It's my favorite taro in Atlanta so far. I've tried the thai tea which is also pretty good. The spicy chicken nugget snacks are amazing, even though a friend described them merely as chicken poppers, much to my indignation. They're so much more! The service here always annoys me. I did not quickly return to Quickly...get it, get it? I think it was last summer or something, my friend and I came here after getting food at the Indonesian restaurant also in this complex. Both times now though I have gotten the coconut milk tea. I think I said in my review of Lollicup it was as close to the amazing coconut bubble tea I had in NYC...but since Lollicup is no longer around, I hereby give this honor to Quickly. I love their tapioca pearls because they are so soft that I don't nearly break my jaw. I've been in pain after consuming bubble tea at a couple other places so that's a win for Quickly too. And I like that it's $2.50 for the coconut milk tea unless you get a large...which I probably should do. I am not one for super sweet tea, and I don't have a problem here. I also got the spicy chicken nuggets last time, and was surprised at how much there was for $3. They use dark meat chicken in them if that somehow makes any difference to anyone. They're somewhat salty, and also spicy, so that goes perfectly with a cold, sweet drink. They take a bit of time to make since they make them to order it seems. I thought the service was friendly, unlike the guy who was ordering after me who was very particular about his grass jelly. I need to crave bubble tea more often. Granted when you drink so much tea, it's hard to really want it in this form but every so often it doesn't hurt :) read more

Their drinks are okay but what makes us come back are their spicy chicken and spicy tofu! Theyre soo good but the only downside is that... we ordered two bags of spicy chicken and spicy french fries but they only gave us THREE SMALL bags of ketchup for that much food we ordered from them. Are they on a cheap budget? It's the only complain we have. Ofc we tend to ask for some more but they only give us another one or two bags. My suggestion is if they can add a little mini condiment station for the costumers who actually does stay back at the boba shop to eat and chill instead of me keeping requesting for some more. read more

In Atlanta they are the only one make the "eatable" bubble tea. I'll give them five star for their bubbles, not too hard not too soft, and they cook the bubbles with some brown sugar. The reason I end up give them 4 star because their fried stuff were no where close to Taiwan. I LOVE this place! It's the only place in town that takes care of my bubble tea cravings... My favorite item: taro milk tea, with taro pudding and tapioca pearls (I usually special request this --- half pudding, half pearls) Their milk teas are pretty fantastic. If you love coconut, their coconut milk tea actually has coconut pieces in it! The Royal milk tea has a slightly more tea flavor than their regular milk tea. Barley milk tea has bits of barley in it (?) --- I didn't really like the strange texture, I was hoping for a drink made with barley tea. Also, their fried chicken nuggets are the most authentic Taiwanese snack food that I've found in Atlanta! For $2.50 a bag (and it's a decently-sized bag), they are totally worth it! I have constant cravings for this stuff... Squid balls were good, but much fewer in number. If you live in Atlanta you know there are a countless number of places that serve Bubble Tea on Buford Hwy, many within 1-2 miles of each other. Sweet Hut, Paris Baguette, Kung Fu Tea, and Honeybits to name a few. When I usually go for Bubble Tea I usually go to Quickly. Unlike Sweet Hut or Paris Baguette, Quickly does not serve baked goods. They primarily serve bubble tea with finger snacks as a side option. There are a lot of bubble tea options (20+ different types) of bubble teas/smoothies, with toppings like tapioca, lychee jelly, grass jelly, egg pudding, aloe vera, etc. You get 3 free toppings per drink, but after that its additional cost. Overall the bubble tea is more milky than tea flavored, which I think most bubble tea places in Atlanta are. The flavors are a bit hit or miss, its more trial and error to find the ones you do like. There are also many food options which I see people get, they're all fried and have the same seasoning, addictive finger foods but not too healthy for you. Overall the place is a decent place to get bubble tea, it is often hard to get seating since there's only a few couches and people will stay on the couches for hours when they get it. More often than not its grab and go, I would recommend other places with more seating if you plan to sit and socialize with a group of friends. read more

Just like it's name, my order of popcorn chicken came out quickly! It was made fresh, so it took about 5 min to come out! I got my popcorn chicken spicy, and it was wayyyy too spicy even though I love spicy food. I'm sure the employees were amused by the amount of water my group and I were desperately gulping down since we were the only ones there that evening. For the price, they give you SO much chicken! So yummy! I also tried my friend's calamari, and it was really good too! The location has a very cozy atmosphere with seating arranged in groups of 4 seats. If you're a fan of spice, you should definitely try your hand here. I ordered the onion rings, popcorn chicken, and calamari. You have the option to have them regular or spicy. I love their bubble tea flavors, but I come here mainly for their munchies - the two things I always order are their chicken nuggets (make em spicy!) and their fried oysters...mmm mmm. This place is not big but it is supposed to seat a fair amount of people with their comfortable amount of couches and chairs, but it gets very busy so most of the time you will have to take it to go. In the evenings, there's usually not a place to sit. There are spots either early on in the day or that awkward gap that comes after lunch and before dinner. They only take cash. Everything is cheap too. When it's not crowded, it's a really good spot to catch up with friends if you're not too hungry and just want to drink something and munch on some savory, fried goodies. It's also worth mentioning that I stayed until closing one night and I left my phone here. The owner helped charge my phone for me so it was fully charged when I got there the next morning to pick it up. So nice! read more

Red bean was made with real red beans. Watermelon made with real watermelons. Strawberries made with preserve. Milk black tea is perfect.. Not too strong and not overly milky or sweet! Their Thai tea tastes like Thai tea (on sweet side) but its all good cause it doesn't taste like a powdered drink. Went late (one time) at 9:40 which is close to closing so they didn't have tapioca. The nice thing about Quickly is that wherever you go, you can expect the same quality. The tapioca milk tea, jasmine milk tea, almond milk tea, coffee milk tea, (fill in the blank) milk tea all taste relatively good, but the tapioca depends on how it was cooked the night before - which applies to all tapioca milk tea vendors, whether it costs 3.99 or 2.50. In Los Angeles where there are more choices, Quickly may not taste as good as opposed to Atlanta, where there are less choices. This does not say Quickly is not good. Their snacks are the same - chicken nuggets good anywhere you go. When asked about spiciness, it's paprika powder that is added, so to some it may be spicy. Their Taiwanese Tempura is not really Taiwanese tempura, so they lose points on that. Otherwise, free Wi-Fi, sometimes working toilet, and TV playing Chinese movies makes this a great place to go. Inspired by those who make the best and most consistent bubble tea around, I'll keep this quick and to the point! Honestly some of the tastiest bubble tea I've had. They have tons of flavors and things to add like grass jelly, pudding, yogurt, and tapioca (obviously).. some of the best, I might add. Perfectly sweet and chewy. Never too gooey or too hard like many other places I've had. My favorites teas are royal, jasmine, honey, and taro milk tea. You really can't go wrong with any of their flavors, though. As if this place hadn't won me over enough, they also have snacks. Delicious snacks. The chicken nuggets and fish balls are great. Make sure you get them spicy! Super friendly owner! They just re-did their decoration and now there are comfy sofa seats! It's not so good for a big group (over 4 people), but we managed to fit 8 in our little area. The tea here is good but not great. I've been three times and the first two times (months apart), they ran out of lavender milk tea, which is really what I wanted the most. When I asked the girl when they'd have more, she brushed me off with a stern "I don't know." I've tried the jasmine and I finally did try the lavender on my third trip. The jasmine is rather bitter for my liking but I have lots of friends who don't have as much of a sweet tooth and prefer it. The thai tea isn't too bad either but nothing memorable. The lavender tasted sorta funny and not worth the wait, I don't think I'll order it again... they also had run out of the regular boba (it was 11am) and they only had mini boba. I told them I was ok with it but I ended up really regretting that choice. I want my regular bubbles! A huge plus is that they offer grass jelly as an add-on, which I don't see very often in places other than Sno Mtn (but Sno Mtn adds it on for free!) I really miss the Pho Mimi lavender tea but I wouldn't mind venturing back to this place and finding a new favorite flavor. read more

This is a quick, short, and to the point review because I only ordered one item off the menu and I can only speak on my service and item ordered. After much deliberation and assistance, from a cute table of young Asian customers, I ordered the Green Tea Milk Boba Tea (sweetened). It wasn't my cup of tea, pun intended. I mean it was okay, but I am a lover of flavor and it wasn't very sweet (or what I considered sweet enough) for how I prefer my boba teas. I will say the tapioca balls were perfect. Not too chewy, hard, or gummy. They were just right and more than enough. The only down side to Quickly is it's cash only. I mean really, who carries cash anymore. A total hindrance, and yes I'm totally 1st World complaining. *shrug* I give Quickly a go for now, because they the service is extremely fast and courteous and the tapioca balls rock . Quicklys is a popular Boba joint with locations all over the US and Asia. They have a huge menu although the only ones we normally order are the milk teas. We tried other flavors (fruit) before but weren't too fond of it. The tapioca here is always good (better than sweet hut imo-tapioca only). My husband and I also love the snack items they serve such as fried oyster, fishballs and fried chicken just to name a few. If you happen to catch a line out the door, you might be waiting for a good 20 minutes as their service is a bit slow. I usually just get the green milk bubble tea with tapioca (chewy balls of flour) and grass milk jelly (similar to jello but has a distinctive flavor). Their hot drinks are okay. It's not like hong kong style milk tea -- its too sweet. Just stick to cold. They also dont have the other types of bubbles like the mini pearls that look like frog eggs up north. It's very simple. Flavors are simple. They also serve snack items like spicy or non-spicy fried chicken nuggets, takoyaki, squid balls, etc for only $2.50! Went here on a Sunday around 2pm. The service was very quick. The place seems to be very popular as so many people were in and out during the 1.5 hours I was there. I like the covering that they put over your drink so you don't spill or so nothing gets into it- I don't know if that's the intended purpose, but it's cool nonetheless. There is not much indoor seating- couldn't find a place to sit. Their outdoor seating consists of two patio tables with two chairs each. Doesn't seem to be a big deal as most customers are really come and go. I ordered a Thai tea- it wasn't as sweet as I am used to. But I will definitely be back to try their many drinks! A couple of notes: 1) CASH ONLY 2) You could easily pass by the place. If you are coming on Chamblee-Tucker from I-85, turn right on Shallowford. Then make a right onto Buford. Favorite place to get bubble tea evarrrr. I'm from New Orleans, and when I try to get my Taro iced bubble tea like I get it here in ATL, they look at me weird and said they don't do that. Although a lot of nicer and newer boba shops have been opening up in Atlanta over the past few years, I feel like Quickly stays in business due to the loyalty of their customers. YUMMM. As a boba fanatic, Quickly's get an A+ from me!! Every time I come to ATL, we always go to the most basic places: Sweet Hut, Bambu, Kung Fu Tea. I was getting sooooo sick of KFT (not a huge fan), so when my friend suggested Quickly's, I was stoked to go! And I definitely wasn't disappointed - their milk tea was DELICIOUS. I downed it so fast! It was fresh, it wasn't overly milky or overly sweet or even overly heavy on the tea. It was a great balance of everything and exactly what you expect from a milk tea drink. The boba was pretty average - I honestly can't remember how great the boba was because I was pretty impressed with how well the tea was made. Definitely would come back again, and definitely would recommend to anyone craving milk tea. PS - bring cash!!! They don't accept cards. read more

The drinks are pretty good and made quickly (see what I did there?), but I was a little turned off by: 1. The seating area looked like it needed to be swept. Badly. 2. There was a bum wandering around the shopping center, and he came in the shop and asked for change from me and the guy in line in front of me. The girl working there said nothing. Obviously, it's not her fault the guy came in, but he should have been asked to leave immediately. Quickly serves the best bubble tea I've ever had in my life! It's never let me down. My favorite drink to get there is the taro tea with boba and egg pudding. I recommend it if you like vanilla/cookie-like flavors. If you've never had taro before, it kind of tastes like if you got a sugar cookie and made it into liquid haha. I swear it's not as weird as my description made it seem. The boba is perfectly sweet and chewy and the pudding is soft, eggy, smooth and yummy. I can't say much for the snacks they offer since I haven't tried any of them, but I hear good things. I took off 1 star for not taking credit cards and for blaring obnoxiously loud K/J/Chinese pop music. Like seriously, turn it down. Your speakers are straining. Meh... kinda summs up my experience here. I came in with a friend who had us drive 5 miles out of the way to this specific place for her to get her bubble tea fix. Dont get me wrong, I'd drive to the ends of the earth for a good bubble tea, but not 5 miles for this place. We walked in and ther was quite a line, and we'rent greeted (majoe pet peve of mine). I examined the menu and it was confusing for a non bubble tea conosour like myself. She of course knew exactly what she wanted but I was still trying to figure it out when it came to our turn. I made a rash decision and ordered what appeared to be black tea with milk? and maybe green tea flavoring... not what I has hoping for or expecting. She was happy with hers thogh so maybe she just knew what to order. They dont take credit or debit cards... argh! In this age of ipads and square, where my sorority can take credit cards at their bake sales on campus, I find places like this, cash only, annoying.
