It can be difficult to find a vendor that you truly trust when selling or buying a valuable asset. Christian and Quicksilver came through a recommendation of a friend. I also did research to find competing businesses that got great reviews and Quicksilver came out on top. This review is going to be in 3 parts: The business, the owner, and the dog. 1.) The business: I recently became interested in bullion/precious metals. I searched around on the phone and in person throughout Orange County before making my first ever silver purchase. I also perused online dealers. With premiums, shipping (and tax depending), there's no benefit to buying bullion online vs at Quicksilver. In just the past month since I started stacking, I've spent over $6,000 at Quicksilver buying silver bullion. The shop has had the exact inventory I've sought every single time. Other shops in the county (including BIG ones) require a $5,000 minimum spend for silver AND don't even have what you want in stock (they place an order for you). Same for online dealers. Who wants that?? I walk into Quicksilver with my $$, and walk out holding my bullion in my hand. Period. Additionally, while comparing premiums, Quicksilver is reasonable. Better than many other local shops, and better than online dealers. Not the absolute lowest you'd find vs dealing with a sketchy individual purchase... but fair considering the comparative market, knowing your bullion is real/quality, and being able to simply walk in and walk out with the product in hand in a professional and timely manner. 2.) The owner: Christian is my type of guy. I nerd out on my interests, and I've done this with precious metals. Christian is passionate and educated in all facets, whether it be the metals themselves, history, industrial uses, hobby/collecting, or economic/inflationary topics with the metals. He's more than willing to answer questions and shoot the sh*t talking about this stuff with you, and he even showed me how his thermo gun works (neat stuff). If an emotional/hurried customer walks in behind you, he won't rush you out if you're chatting to serve them. BUT if you want to just get in and out of the shop, he's quick and to the point/all business. No frills with this guy. I'm not into coins, but he seems to be extremely educated in numismatics (if that's your thing). He must have a good relationship with wholesalers and refiners, because he just has the goods on hand at fair prices, unlike other stores. 3.) The dog. Augie is his pitbull and right-hand man, a fixture in the shop. I get excited to pet his big ole head, and my wife comes with me to make purchases just to see Augie. I enjoy Augie just as much as I enjoy handling the metals and picking Christian's brain! This will be my forever spot for my bullion needs! read more
