This place is in a strip mall off Cactus. Plenty of parking. It looks small from the front, but when inside, it's a good size. Cute mom and pop business, and the owners are very sweet and kind. There's 50s memorabilia all around. Tables decorated with pretty flower table covers. We ordered the Golden Gate combo, #3 Yankee Clipper, the #7 Big Chicken, and a large green salad with dressing. All sandwiches were the 6" size. Upon getting our orders, the sandwiches were hot and we devoured them so fast. They were just that good! The bread was toasted just right, adding that extra bit of crunch. The salad was a typical green iceberg salad. Rating was minus one star, as when I placed the order for the #3, I said no onions but those were on it along with peppers which I don't like either. I just removed them from my sandwich. Tucked in a small strip mall off of Cactus Avenue is a small unassuming restaurant which features one of the most delicious sandwiches around. When you come to Quik Stop Subs the Godfather sandwich is prominently displayed on the window calling on you. Begging you to buy it. Listen to the window. When you walk into Quik Stop, you find yourself in a small dining room with lots of 50s style decorations and frames full of patches (March AFB is nearby so you'll see a lot of military coming and going). Towards the back is the menu board and register. If the line gets more than two people long, servers will come out and take your order so by the time you get to the register, all you have to do is pay. After you pay they bring your food to your table. There are plenty of sandwiches to try but as a creature of habit, I stick with the Godfather. The sandwich itself is amazing with five types of meat with provolone and a generous helping of veggies on a lightly toasted roll. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Service is always friendly and you aren't left hanging too long for your sandwich. If you're in the area of Cactus Ave in Mo Val and are looking for a great sandwich, look no further than Quik Stop. Great tasting sandwich. The other comments about their bread are correct, their bread is something special for sandwich connoisseurs. Fresh and delicious and just a tiny bit different than what you'd get elsewhere. I had the Golden Gate sandwich with turkey, ham, bacon and provolone (instead of Swiss) and got everything on it except mustard. The meats, cheese, and produce were all fresh. Yes, the bacon is the precooked kind, but at this price point and volume, I can understand why that is. The sandwich shop itself is a little funky inside, but I honestly don't think anyone is coming here for the ambiance. Still, it was clean and comfortable and well lit. It's true there is a $10 minimum for credit cards or they charge a small fee, but we all know it costs small businesses a percentage to process card transactions. I'm okay with that. I did not experience the extreme friendliness others have wrote about, but just a simple interaction was fine. They were polite. I did notice the owner conversing with someone who was probably a regular. The staff in the back seemed to all be giving their best. Been working out here for almost two years and recently found out about this spot. Tsk Tsk! All I can say is wow! These guys and gals know what they're doing. The whole staff is very attentive and work really well together. When it gets busy, they don't hesitate to pull an extra body out to take orders. My go-to has been the Big Chicken. They use two chicken patties grilled to perfection and is served on a rich, soft roll toasted to crisp'fection! Also got to try the Brooklyn Bridge which is a cold sandwich and the roll was soft as well. Unfortunately, I couldn't hit that 5th star for 1 main reason. We got: The Godfather 9" Brooklyn Bridge 6" California beef dip 6" Each sandwich was under $10 and adding a small side and drink is only another $2 or so.
