The location and ambiance are great. Service is good as well. Unfortunately something happened to this place 6-7 years ago and it's never quite recovered. This is the third time I have come here and the food was awful. The bruschetta has gone from being an amazing array of tastes to this sad Soviet Union dish. The goat cheese was a sad amount, the salmon was sparse and salty like gefilte, the prosciutto looked grey. My crispy chicken sandwich was uninspired, cold and tasted like I was eating out of a food truck during my lunch break. My friends sandwich was Cuban and was soggy and wet and cold the meat looked gray. Last time I was here I ordered a pizza the crust was wet and soaked with grease. This is not a cheap fast food place so then the question we have to answer is why is the food served like this and what can be done to rescue this staple of the west lake hills. Please fix this. Some Yelp friends and I decided to grab a bite to eat after the Yelp event. We wanted to stop at place that everyone enjoyed. After toying around with a number of selections we ended up at The Grove on Bee Caves (very close to the Yelp event). The Grove have multiple locations around town including one Cedar Park and on Spicewood Springs Road. The venue is quite beautiful on the outside patio with clear Christmas lights strung strategically through the trees. We opted for the warmth of seating inside. Interestingly, 3 of us ordered bruschetta boards, whereas one Yelp friend ordered a healthy salad (good for her!) I ordered the salmon, Italian sausage and pear with fig boards. I was only able to eat two. I also had a glass of prosecco and half of a glass my friend could not drink. A couple of friends had wine flights. Both the food and drink was very satisfying. Stopped in with some friends later in the evening on a Monday, around 8 p.m. and they were pretty busy. Not crazy busy at all but I was surprised to see that amount of people out. This was my first visit and I understand they have a few locations. It's definitely a suburban neighborhood type of establishment. They've got an extensive wine menu that includes flights (wine, Prosecco, etc.). As far as food goes, it's mainly pizza, bruschetta, salads, etc. Lots of options in those categories. I had a chopped salad and a glass of Prosecco and enjoyed them both. All of the salad ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The Prosecco was crisp, dry, & slightly bubbly...just the way I like it. This was my first time at the Grove Wine Bar & Kitchen and always told it was excellent but with limited parking. I arrived before the lunch crowd but was already packed and ended up getting the last spot in a tiny parking garage. I did notice a parking valet attendant but not sure where he parks the vehicles. Walked through a courtyard with giant oak trees to get to the entrance and was quickly seated in the courtyard. It was a bit cold inside. Our server was really nice and helped me select a wine to pair with my meal. I ordered the Avocado BLT. Eating outside felt special under the giant oak trees wrapped in tiny lights. My order arrived and the BLT had hickory smoked bacon, smashed avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, garlic-herb aioli in a toasted sourdough. It also came with potato chips where should have substituted with a salad. The sandwich was really good and the ingredients tasted very fresh. Overall had great flavor. We ate here on August 23, after being unable to find parking. We originally wanted to go to The Well, but decided to use the valet services provided by the Grove and eat there instead. It was a busy Friday afternoon, but we were seated quickly and there wasn't significant delay in ordering, receiving our food, and paying. We were seated on the quieter side where their cafe/coffee shop is. We shared the italian sausage, whipped feta, and roasted mushroom bruschettas. I got the avocado BLT sandwich. The bruschettas are what they are known for, but I felt they weren't spectacular. The sandwich was just okay, but what I really loved were the chips on the side. A really delicious dinner with a wonderful wine flight! The Grove has a lovely array of wines and food, and I like their flight options as a way to try a couple different varietals. We started with bruschetta boards, and out of what we tried, I particularly enjoyed the whipped herb feta & pistachios; the apple, fig, & brie; and the tomato, pesto, & mozzarella. As my entree, I got the Shrimp & Sausage Linguine, which features a delicious combination of gulf shrimp, spicy italian sausage, garlic, chile, white wine, tarragon, butter, tomato, parmesan, and herb bread crumbs. The shrimp and sausage paired surprisingly well, married by the gentle warmth of the chili and garlic sauce. Definitely make sure to squeeze the lemon over the pasta -- this hit of acid brings the dish up a notch! Our server was friendly, but definitely seemed like his attention was pulled too many other places. The service was on the slow side in terms of infrequent visits to the table, but drinks and food came out quickly once we were able to put in our orders. The patio was beautiful, with big trees and lots of lights twinkling over it. We ate inside, though, and while I appreciate a lively atmosphere, it was pretty loud and actually rather cold. I'd definitely ask to sit on the patio next time! I really, really liked the wine flights as an accompaniment to dinner. I came in at 9 pm. on Labor Day, and trust me.. I felt bad about doing it. I actually left the hotel and had a place in mind. Just like every place in downtown Austin, parking was ridiculous. After getting lost for a bit, I stumbled across this gem. Josh was my server. Super bubbly personality and gave the best recommendation for dinner. I ordered the reed side salad. AMAZING AND FRESH! Loved every bite. The Halibut is what Josh recommended, and SO GLAD HE DID! DELICIOUS! Crusted Halibut with fresh lime rice. The Halibut thicker than a snicker.. lovely and hardy all around. The rice had the lime sauce that complimented the halibut so nicely. There are no words. BRAVO CHEF! Loved everything about this meal. Hit every foodie spot. We've been dining at the original Grove in Bee Cave since it opened in 2007. It's long been our go-to spot for everything from family dinners to casual nights out. Over the years, I've discovered some truly fantastic wines here, always well-selected, thoughtfully priced, and consistently high quality. That's why I was so disappointed by their new White Flight #5, "Happy Together." Yes, the $16 price is attractive, but two of the three wines were honestly terrible. The 2024 A.A. Badenhorst (South Africa) and the 2021 Petra (Tuscany) both tasted thin, watery, and completely lacking in structure or character. It was like someone had dropped ice cubes in them, totally unworthy of the Grove's usual standards. The 2024 Chateau Ducasse (Bordeaux) was the only redeeming pour, and even that couldn't save the flight as a whole. I truly appreciate that Grove continues to explore value, especially in today's economy but I urge the team not to sacrifice the quality that built their reputation. This flight misses the mark by a wide margin. Please consider pulling it. Loyal customers like us expect better and we know you're capable of it. read more

I haven't been here in a few months. The staff are still friendly and cheerful. I ordered the Italian sandwich and my former colleague had the avocado BLT. Both are served with homemade potato chips. The Italian sandwich was huge. It was filled with plenty of pepperoni, ham, and salami along with the vegetables and cheese. My recommendation is to order the aioli vinaigrette on the side. I forgot to do it and it was a bit messy but manageable. The homemade potato chips had a slight flavor of vinegar and salt and were very crispy and delicious. From what I could tell, my colleagues avocado BLT was pretty large too. Apparently, it was delicious because she ate the entire sandwich. We were there right at noon. The Grove is fine for Westlake/Bee Caves wine bar style food. Service is generally good and food is ok if a little forgettable. One clarification, dogs are not allowed on the large, shaded patio - there's a weird little area closer to Bee Caves with two picnic tables where dogs are allowed; like a smoking area but for dogs. Given this is Austin it's already kind of odd, but doubly so given the claim of being dog-friendly. We wouldn't rush back. read more

We ate here this morning and it was not a great experience. It was around 11 am with very few customers in the restaurant. Waiters and waitresses were walking around it took them a long time to greet us and to get our order. If the restaurant was full we would understand but it wasn't. The food was mediocre and the prices were too high for the quality of the food. Then my friends ordered a bottle of wine. The waitress recommended a certain wine and didn't mention it was $80. First of all note that this location does not serve liquor, only wine and beer which was a bit disappointing. We ordered bruschetta and the strawberry and the tomato one was delish. Amazing! After a few times at this place (we are out of towner's) we realized the best way to dine here....Salads! Their salads are amazing! The portions are huge and the taste is perfection! We had two wine flights, 3 salads, a small plate appetizer and a dessert for $120. You can't beat that and the atmosphere is magical. First off the indoor space is nice, but the outdoor space is also great-with lights and heaters. We were plenty warm even though it was a bit chilly out. Our group ordered a bunch of small plates, that weren't very small. We ordered way too much food but it was all good. The Brussels Sprouts were a hit. When your order bruschetta you got to order from about 7 different kinds, and we liked all three we ordered. The charcuterie board has a nice array of fruits, meats, cheese, nuts, olives, and spreads. Hummus was good, but would probably pass on that next time. The Parmesan Crusted Flounder was by far my favorite dish. Perfectly cooked fish with a nice crispy crust. It was delicious. Of course they have plenty of wine to choose from but they also had a few beers available. They also have a parking lot. It's definitely worth a stop in, even if you have to sit outside. read more

Plenty of seating and I like how they have all the trees wrapped in lights that give a cool vibe. Our server was awesome and gave us the best service. I got a local IPA recommended by our server, which tasted amazing. My Fiancé got her usual New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We started with a Caesar Salad and for the main got the Meat Lovers pizza. The food was amazing and above other restaurants' standards. I recommend the calamari as an appetizer which was so delicious. The plating of the fried shrimp was beautiful. The pizza was amazing and all the ingredients were fresh and so delicious. We got the meat lovers pizza and added a few toppings. I especially loved the avocado BLT which sounds like it could be a casual food, but to my surprise, the sandwich was absolutely delicious, crispy sourdough giving a perfect bite with the best ingredients and freshness. We also had the cheesesteak which was very good. As for the sides, I think I had the best fries I've had in a long time. They were perfectly crispy, thick, crunchy, and seasoned perfectly. My sister took me here while I was on vacation visiting her. She had never been and we absolutely love trying new spots especially for brunch to see what the offerings are. I love this place and I will go here every time I visit. The service and wait staff were so kind and very much knowledgeable on the food and drink offerings. As you can see from the photos I did order some mussels for brunch hahaha I love seafood and I was not disappointed. I literally finished it and wanted to drink the sauce that it was served in so the pieces of bread were great to soak that all in.
